He graduated from Spaulding High School and received a bachelor's degree in history from Windham College in Putney. He was an employee of the Lyon Travel Agency in Brattleboro. Survivors include a sister, Marilyn Mayo and a cousin.

, 24, of Chelsea, died Aug. 11. Born in 1974 in Seoul, S. Korea, he came to the United States in 1976, when he was adopted into the Hadley family. He attended school in Chelsea and graduated from Chelsea High School and from St. Paul Technical College with an electronics certificate. He was employed at Circuit City of Minneapolis, MN. Survivors include his parents, Lynda Hadley and Vaughn Hadley; step-parents Douglas Nakari and Jill McCue Hadley; three siblings, Jessica (Andrew) Hadley Woolford, Rebecca Hadley and Zachary Hadley; his maternal grandparents, William and Jean Palmer; many other relatives and friends.

, 89, of Barre, died Aug. 18. She was born in 1909 in Bedford, Ind. She was a home caregiver for many years in several cities throughout the country and had worked for the Salvation Army in Barre. Survivors include four daughters, Irene Bisson, Mary Bolman, Barbara Rigg and Rosalie Day; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.

, 60, of Montpelier, died Aug. 12. Born in 1939 in Montpelier, he was the son of Eliza (Cassavaw) and Joseph Skirry. He attended Montpelier and Vergennes schools and Lyndon State and Keene State colleges. He had worked at the Basin Harbor Club and from there went to Maine to become a chef at Sprucewold Lodge. He purchased the Moorings Restaurant in Southwest Harbor, Maine and continued a career in the restaurant business until 1997. Survivors include one sister, Shirley Champine; nieces, nephews; two sisters-in-law; several great nieces and nephews; several aunts, uncles and cousins. Also surviving was his special friend, Ellie Ryan.

, 99, of Websterville, died Aug. 26. Born in 1900 in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of John and Flora (MacKinnon) MacDonald. She attended school in Cape Breton. In 1918, she moved to Boston and later moved to Websterville. She was first married to James Dan MacLellan, who died in 1946. She then married Andrew Moore, who died in 1966. She was a homemaker and a member of the Graniteville Presbyterian Church. Survivors include her daughter, Florence Payne; he son, John MacLellan; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren.

She attended Lincoln School and graduated from Spaulding High School. In 1971, she married Lewis Watson. They had lived in Rutland, where she was employed at the Little People's School. She had lived in N.C. since 1998. Survivors include her husband; one son, John; one daughter Lori Watson; her father and stepmother, Joseph and Donna Holden; two brothers; uncles, aunts and cousins.

, 95, of Waterbury, died Aug. 25. Born in 1903 in Waterbury, she was the daughter of Howard and Clare (Demeritt) Stevens. She graduated from Waterbury High School and from Montpelier Seminary. In 1950, she married Delbert Taft, who died in 1990. She taught school in the Waterbury area and retired after 20 years as a bookkeeper at Vermont State Hospital. She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church. Survivors include a sister, Marjorie Timbers; two brothers, Charles and Kenneth; two half-brothers, Bertrand Stevens and Clinton Stevens.

He was employed by Charles Hanley Mills, Catlin's Mill and Sprague's Dairy, retiring in the late 1970s. He served in the Army during WWII. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Ardie Royce; a sister, Sally Davis; two granddaughters.

She graduated from Worcester City Hospital School of Nursing and practiced as a registered nurse in the State of Vermont. In 1940, she married Robert Holmes Brown, who died in 1990. She was a member of the Federated Church of Williamstown. Survivors include three children, Gale (Brown) Sumner; Melanie (Brown) McGovern and Dale Brown; one sister; six grandchildren;; four great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

She went to finishing school in Boston. In 1939, she married Francis Stephen McArthur Jr. She spent most of her life as an army officer's wife, traveling the world with her husband. She was a member of the Christ Episcopal Church in Montpelier. Survivors include her son, F. Stephen McArthur III; three grandchildren.

He served in the Navy during WWII and Korea. In 1947, he married Eva Wilkins. He was retired from IBM and prior to IBM was employed by G.B. Roode Co. and Maunsell Co. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Pamela Bowman Irish; one son, Bruce; one brother; one sister; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Cahill-Noury, Janet Renaud and Joan Cahill; four sons, Francis Jr., Brian, Jerry and Michael; two sisters; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

He was a mill worker at Fyles and Rice Veneer Mill in Bethel, a nurses aide at Gifford Memorial Hospital and at Tranquility Nursing Home. He also worked at Green Mountain Stock Farm in Randolph and was town clerk for Randolph for two years. He and his companion, Annette Little, came to Washington in 1980; she died in 1996. She attended Cabot schools and nurses training at Claremont Hospital in Claremont, N.H. In 1924, she married Harry Miller, who died in 1985. She was a homemaker and had worked in private care nursing and at nursing homes in East Barre and South Barre. She was a member of the Websterville Baptist Church. Survivors include three sons, Willard, Harry and Robert; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren.

, 77, of Barre City, died Aug. 20. Born in 1922 in Coaticooke, Quebec, she was the daughter of Victor and Lucy (Lanctot) LaPerle. The family moved to East Montpelier, where she attended school. In 1942, she married Cyril LeMay, who died in 1963. They owned and operated the LeMay Motel until 1975. She was a member of St. Monica Church. Survivors include one sister, Pauline Johnson; one brother, Norman LaPerle; many nieces and nephews.

, 88, of Worcester, died Aug. 21. He grew up in White River Jct., where he attended local schools and graduated from Hartford High School. He attended Braden Hall, Cornwall-on-the-Hudson Military Preparatory School and graduated from Norwich University. In 1941, he married Thelma Morgan Howieson. He served with the Army during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He was a certified professional civil engineer and was self-employed in the construction business in Montpelier and later was employed by the State of Vermont, retiring as an engineer for the Water Resource and Environmental Department. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Catherine Healey Provost and Elizabeth Healey Kilbride; three granddaughters; one grandson; four great-grandchildren; one sister.
