, 88, of Chelsea, died Sept. 4. Born in 1911 in Chelsea, she was the daughter of Will and Cora (Durkee) Densmore. She attended school in Chelsea, graduated from West Springfield (Mass.) High School and from Montpelier Seminary with a teaching certificate. She taught schools in South Washington, Bethel Gilead and Chelsea. In 1943, she married Richard Kennedy, who died in 1960. Survivors include a daughter, Jean K. Bernier; two grandchildren; a great-grandson; nieces and nephews.

, 85, of Northfield Falls, died Sept. 6. Born in 1941 in North Terrytown, N.Y., he was the son of Joseph and Anna Elizabeth (Miethke) Sambel. In 1941, he married Dorothy Hockman, who died in 1994. He had worked many years at Norwich University in the maintenance department and was superintendent of the town cemeteries for 10 years. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church in Northfield. Survivors include two sons, Paul and Robert; one brother; two sisters; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

, 49, of Washington, died Sept. 7. Born in 1950 in San Francisco, Calif., she was the daughter of Walter and Elizabeth (Wickline) Grimes. She attended Crestmore High School in Calif. She married John Dobrowski, they later divorced. In 1975, she married Charles Hurdle. She worked at Budzyn Beef and later as a waitress at Lum's and Shoney's restaurants. She was a member of the Washington Baptist Church and a volunteer dispatcher for the Washington Fire Department. Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Jacqueline Dobrowski; two sons, John Dobrowski and Sean Hurdle; six grandchildren; two brothers; five sisters; cousins, nieces and nephews.

, 55, formerly of Barre, died Sept. 5. Born in 1943 in Barre, she was the daughter of C. James and A. Liane (Roberts) Fitzpatrick. She attended St. Monica's Elementary School and graduated from Marian High School. In 1966, she married Stanley F. Warner. She was employed by the New Hampshire Insurance Company and the Vermont Department of Employment Security in Montpelier. She also worked for the School Administrative Unit 53 in Suncook, N.H. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Ericka Manyak; a brother; nieces and nephews.

, 67, formerly of Barre, died Aug. 10. Born in 1932 in Barre, he attended schools there. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He moved to Calif. and became a meat cutter and owned his own meat market. He retired in 1988. In 1987, he married Juanita Salazar, who died in 1993. Survivors include a son, Douglas Smith; a daughter, Tammy (Mrs. Joe) Reynolds; two stepsons, Michael and Thomas Payne; a brother; two sisters; a special friend, Grace Hargens; many grandchildren.

, 92, of Northfield Falls, died Sept. 3. Born in 1907 in Plymouth, Conn., she was the daughter of Aaron and Cora Belle (Johnson) Chase. In 1932, she married Harold H. Hauver. They moved to Northfield after retiring in 1973. She was a member of the Northfield Falls Methodist Church. Survivors include three daughters, Beverly (Mrs. Leo) Donahue, Elnora (Mrs. Fred) D'Angelo and Jerene (Mrs. Dwaine) Glidden; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

, 64, of Williamstown, died Sept. 4. Born in 1935 in Norway, Maine, he was the son of James and Pansy (Maynard) Southworth. He attended schools in Plymouth, N.H. and in Barre. In 1961, he married Geraldine (Gerry) Brown. He was employed as a meat cutter for Comolli and Savoie in Barre and then was employed by Rock of Ages Quarry, retiring in 1997. He had served in the Navy from 1954-58. He served on the Williamstown Fire Department and was fire warden for 21 years. Survivors include his wife; a son, Norwood Jr.; a daughter, Lori Ann Scott; a grandson; several nieces and nephews.

He graduated from Brookfield High School and later attended the agricultural college in Randolph. In 1920, he married S. Jane Kirkpatrick, who died in 1989. They had lived in Brookfield and Northfield and moved to Brattleboro in 1946. He became a self-employed barber. She attended graded school in East Montpelier and graduated from Montpelier High School. In 1935, she married Frederick Bushey, who died in 1969. She worked in her aunt's home for the elderly and also cared for patients in their homes. For several years she worked in retail in the Charlestown Mill Sweater Store in Berlin. Survivors include three sons, Phillip, Reed and Roy; one daughter, Betty Wood; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
