He graduated from Whitcomb High School in Bethel and attended Indiana State College. In 1949, he married Florence Luce. He had worked at Fritzel Toy Co. in Randolph, G.W. Plastics in Bethel and was a logger for Eagle Square of Stockbridge. He also worked at Killington Ski Area, retiring in 1981. He had served in the Army. He served as selectman, fire warden and interim town manager in Sherburne and a fireman in Sherburne and Randolph. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Dale, Terry and Chris; six grandchildren.

He graduated from Waterbury High School and from the University of Vermont. He later earned degrees in engineering and management from Dartmouth College and Johns Hopkins University. He worked for 36 years for Westinghouse Electric Corp., retiring in 1985. He retired from the Navy Research Reserve as commander. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Harriette (Dean) Holway; one daughter, Karen Holway; one son, James; one grandson.

Survivors include two sisters, Iris Stewart and Regis Godin.

He had worked for Wheeler Chevrolet in Waterbury and later was employed as a bookkeeper for several Barre area granite sheds and a variety of businesses in the Burlington and Swanton areas. Most recently, he worked at Fletcher Allen Health Care, from which he retired. He was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church. He attended Hardwick Academy and the Worcester Massachusetts Technical School, where he studied to be an electrician. In 1934, he married Margaret Blackhall, who died in 1966. In 1970, he married Eleanor Mason Smith, who died in 1987. He had been employed by the Hardwick Electric Department for 29 years and was a self-employed electrician, retiring in 1982. He was affiliated with the United Church of Hardwick and the Albany United Methodist Church. Survivors include two step-daughters, Earline Atkins and Helen Hayford; two stepsons, Leslie Smith and Wendell Smith; 11 step-grandchildren.

Survivors include five daughters, Elizabeth LaRock, Merlene McLaughlin, Margaret Taylor, Janet Dolloff and Ruth Morlock; four sons, Eugene, Raymond, Roger and Merrill; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; a brother; a sister.

She held college degrees from the University of Vermont and the Simmons College School of Social Work. In 1942, she married Howard Newton Hanson. They moved to Northfield Falls in 1950, where she worked as a secretary at the Mayo Hospital. She and her husband started a business making Green Mountain dolls. Survivors include her daughter, Joanne Hanson Hicken; one sister; one sister-in-law; one nephew; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

He and his wife owned and operated Freck's Store, retiring in 1985. He had served in the Air Force during WWII and was a state legislator from 1973 -77. He was a member of the United Church of South Royalton and a past member of the South Royalton Fire Department. She worked as a registered nurse at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital in New London, Conn., and resided in Gales Ferry, Conn. Survivors include a sister, Elizabeth A. Rogers.
