, 69, formerly of Randolph, died May 20. Born in 1930 in Randolph, he was the son of John and Esther (Tabor) Day. He graduated from Williamstown High School and the University of Vermont. He served with the Air Force, retiring as a lieutenant colonel. In 1954, he married Mary MacAulay. He spent most of his teaching career at the Albert D. Lawton School, retiring in 1985. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Christy Day; a son, Andrew Day; his mother; two brothers; nieces, nephews and cousins.

, 71, formerly of Tunbridge, died July 21. Born in 1927 in Tunbridge, he was the son of Dorothy Redlon. He attended Tunbridge and Strafford schools and served in the Navy during WWII. In 1946, he married Clara E. Knudsen. He drove truck, worked for Wayne Taplin in Tunbridge, Vermont Copper Mines, New Haven Water Co. in Conn. and later for several building contractors in Conn. He owned and operated the Redlon Construction Co. in Tunbridge from 1970 to 1980. He also maintained Tunbridge Video in Tunbridge. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Sandra Higgins and Audrey O'Hallaran; a son, Stanley Jr.; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; cousins.

She had lived in Vero Beach, Fla. for the past 21 years. Survivors include her husband, John Wheaton; two sons, Mark and Noel; a granddaughter; a sister.

, 75, of Montpelier, died May 20. Born in 1923 in Barre Town, he was the son of Frank Francis and Bessie Harriet (Magoon) Goulette. He attended Washington schools. He worked in the granite industry for Jones Brothers and Twin City Custom Sandblast both of Barre and for Rock of Ages in Graniteville, retiring in 1985. He also operated Frank's Small Engine Repair after retirement. He was a member of the Resurrection Baptist Church in Montpelier. Survivors include his wife, Beverly L. (Smith) Goulette; two sons, Stephen and Kenneth; a daughter, Marla Winters; two grandchildren; two brothers; five sisters.

, 70, of Waterbury Center, died May 17. Born in 1928 in Colchester, he was the son of William and Cora Ann (Gillette) Gillette. He served in the Army Signal Corps and the Vermont Army National Guard. He was employed as food service manager at the Vermont State Hospital, retiring in 1990. Survivors include two sisters, Beulah (Mrs. Fred) Taylor and Shirley (Mrs. Gordon) Rochelle; nieces and nephews.

In 1974, he married Suzan James. He had worked in construction and as a carpenter. Survivors include his wife; three sons, William III, James and Stephen; two daughters, Sarah E-J Mahoney and Tiffany; a step-daughter, Tanya-Lee James; his father; his mother; a sister; five grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

He worked in several garages as an auto mechanic both in Williamstown and Barre, retiring from Blake & Lose in East Montpelier. He was a member of St. Edward's Church. Survivors include three daughters, Margaret Covey, Mary Crowe and Claire Carpenter; five grandchildren.

He was an automotive mechanic in Fairhaven and New Bedford, Mass., and owned and operated Jerry's Garage in Brockton, Mass. He moved to Chelsea in 1973 and worked for L.W. Greenwood in East Randolph. He worked for Vermont Technical College in Randolph from 1975 until he retired in 1985. In 1950, he married Rita Pokraka. He moved to Charlton, N.Y. in 1962 and began a 40-year banking career at the Schenectady Trust, at the Mohawk National Bank in Charlton and for the Bank of New York, retiring in 1995. He was a veteran of the Army and a member of the Burnt Hills United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, June Taplin; four daughters, Marilyn Howley, Kathryn Garrow, Evelyn Brothers and Carolyn Burns; a son, David Taplin; 14 grandchildren.

She was a licensed practical nurse at Heaton Hospital and a nurse for Dr. George MacIntyre, retiring in 1983. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Montpelier. Survivors include a son, William; four daughters, Virginia Benoit, June Morrisson, Geraldine Mitchell and Eleanor Pulsifier; a sister; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.

, 90, of Barre City, died May 30. Born in 1909 in St. Zacharie de Beauce, Quebec, she was the daughter of Alfred and Olivine (Guay) Ruel. She attended schools in St. Isidore, d'Auckland, Quebec. She came to Vermont in 1931 and was employed by an attorney in Montpelier, to help with domestic chores and raising their children. She married Romeo Goulet in 1933, who died in 1964. They had purchased the Twin Elms Motor Court, which she managed for 22 years. She was a member of St. Monica Church. Survivors include four children, Doris Fournier, Philip Goulet, Gloria Goulet and Anita (Gallas) Manco; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
