She worked at Nellie's and Joes on Elm Street in Barre. In 1933, she married Alfred Theriault, who died in 1994. Survivors include a daughter, Christina Bresett; a son, Louis; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

, 78, of Barre, died Jan. 29. Born in 1919 in Allentown, Pa., he was the son of Michael and Elsie (Blesecker) Gallas. He graduated from Spaulding High School. He served in the Army during WWII. In 1946, he married Aracella Cano. He worked for Brusa Brothers Granite Co., retiring in 1975. Survivors include his wife; a son, Michael; two grandchildren; a brother; two sisters; nieces and nephews.

She graduated from Middlebury Union High School and attended the University of Vermont and Vermont College. She worked in human services and was a home visitor for the Head Start Program in central Vermont. In 1982, she married John Grearson. She was a member of the Barre Congregational Church. Survivors include her husband; a son, Geoffrey; a daughter, Anna Grearson; her father; her mother; three brothers; a sister; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

, 69, of Berlin, died Jan. 29. Born in 1928 in Pittsfield, he was the son of Walter and Cora (Severance) Severance. He was educated in Pittsfield and Bethel schools. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War. In 1952, he married Bertha Rose Rand. He was employed as a lathe operator at Fyles and Rice Mill in Bethel and at Branchwood in Randolph. He also worked for the town of Sherburne and owned and operated farms in Williamstown and Berlin. He was road commissioner in Pittsfield. Survivors include his wife; four sons, Bruce, John, Steven and Larry; two daughters, Wilma Shatney and Peggy Lewis; 10 grandchildren; a brother; a sister.

, 80, formerly of Bethel and more recently of Claremont, N.H., died Jan. 28. Born in 1918 in Bethel, he was the son of Forrest and Annabelle (Busch) Northrup. He was educated in Bethel schools. He was a carpenter employed by several contractors in central Vermont. He served in the Army Air Force during WWII. In 1946, he married June Jarvis. Survivors include his wife; four sons, Albert, Thomas, Richard and Robert; a brother; a sister; eight grandchildren.

In 1947, she married Lawrence Pierce. She was a telephone operator for New England T&T in Barre and then was a bookkeeper and secretary in the Barre office of Keystone Management Services of King of Prussia, PA. She was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd (Episcopal). Survivors include her husband; a brother, Ernest Rusconi; a niece and a nephew.

, 87, of Montpelier, died Jan. 23. Born in 1910 in Montpelier, he was the son of Louis and Rose Carr. He was educated in Montpelier schools. He and his father established L. Carr and Sons in Montpelier, a metals business. He also established a second firm, Capital Steel and Supply Co. Inc. He retired in 1983. He was a member of Beth Jacob Synagogue in Montpelier and Ohavi Zedek Synagogue in Burlington. He was married to Ray Sherback in 1965. She died in 1997. Survivors include his first wife, Ann Corriveau; a daughter, Carol Carr; a son, Allan; stepchildren, Harvey, Linda and Julianne Sherback; seven grandchildren.

, 46, of South Barre, died Jan. 24. Born in 1951 in Winchester, Mass., he was the son of Leonard and Thelma (Lannin) Norkeveck. He attended schools in Barre and Barre Town and graduated from Spaulding High School. He also graduated from DeVry Institute and became a licensed technician. He worked with his father at Barre TV Sales and Service, operating the company after his father died in 1988. He was more recently employed at Grandpa's Wireless Cable Co. in Rutland. In 1974, he married Leora Ross. He was a volunteer fireman with Barre Town Fire Department and a member of the Barre Town police force. He was a member of St. Monica Parish. Survivors include his former wife; his son, Erik Norkeveck; three brothers; nieces and nephews.

, 82, of Woodbury, died Jan. 25. Born in 1916 in Woodbury, he was the son of Henry and Lillian (Sprague) Bailey. He graduated from Woodbury High School and served in the Army during WWII. In 1946, he married Pauline Anita Trescott, who died in 1986. In 1988, he married Rachel Houston Henderson. He had owned and operated a furnace business and more recently worked as custodian and buildings manager for the State of Vermont, retiring in the mid-1980s. He was a member of Woodbury Center Church. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Judith Gilman and Deanna McFarland; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; a brother; a sister; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She retired as a secretary from the Department of Agriculture and moved to Florida. He was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church and had been an auditor for the town of Calais. Survivors include cousins.

She was a sales clerk at Harry's Discount and the Woolworths and later at Rich's Department, retiring in 1988. In 1945, she married Harry E. Broughton, who died in 1976. She was a member of Hedding United Methodist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Shirley (Mrs. Dana) Morrissette and Bonnie Broughton; two sons, Darrell and Kenneth; one grandson; a brother; three sisters.

She attended Spaulding High School and graduated from Windsor High School. In 1942, she married Ellsworth Harley Perkins, who died in 1989. She was a cook at the Windsor House, the Windsor Diner and William Tally House Restaurant. She retired in 1990. Survivors include two sons, Clyde and Thomas; two sisters; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
