In 1936, he married Jeanne Cecil Malanson, who died in 1991. He retired from Everlasting Memorial Co. in Montpelier in 1975. He also managed the England Farm in Montpelier. He was a member of St. Augustine Parish in Montpelier. Survivors include a son, John; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

He received his early education in Tunbridge and graduated from South Royalton High School. He served with the Navy during WWII. He worked at Farnham Brothers Roofers in Tunbridge, for the Barre Trust Co. and Coca Cola Bottling Co., for Forney Arc Welders and retired from employment at Vermont Technical College in 1986. He also owned and operated Beacon Hill Crafts in Chelsea, with his wife Jean M. Hatch, whom he married in 1948. Survivors include his wife; his mother; two daughters, Sandra F. Van Orman and Lori L. Pinard; a brother; two sisters; a grandson; nieces, nephews and cousins.

, 85, of Waitsfield, died Feb. 2. Born in 1912 in Hartford, Conn., she was the daughter of Lawrence and Mary (Lenart) Stokier. She graduated from high school in Hartford. In 1933, she married Clifton R. Miller, who died in 1966. She was a homemaker and parent. Following her husband's death, she worked at the Alpen Inn in Waitsfield and retired in 1977 from Stanley Tools in Shaftsbury. Survivors include five daughters, Arline Hughes, Marianne Moore, Marietta Caladim, Helene Fleury and Evelyn Crogan; four sons, Ralph, Clifton, Abraham and Raymond; 25 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She spent her life raising her children and on the family farm. She was a communicant of St. Norbert's Church. He also graduated from Greers Trade School in Chicago, Ill. He served with the Marines. He was co-owner of Induni's Esso Service Station and worked in the granite industry, retiring in 1989. In 1955, he married Joanne E. Stanley. He was a member of St. Monica Parish. He worked for George Campbell Painting Co. in Flushing, N.Y., retiring in the mid-70s and moving to Northfield. While living in Northfield, he owned and operated a sawmill and worked at the Red Kettle, a local restaurant. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Huntington, N.Y. She was a member of the Baptist Church in Antrim and the First Congregational Church in Keene, N.H. He then worked in maintenance at Spaulding High School and at the Ayers Street School. She taught at Columbia College in South Carolina and at Westminster College in Utah. She taught at Montpelier and Spaulding high schools. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Barre. He was a well-known mechanic in the Barre and Montpelier area and owned Roadside Repair in Montpelier and Berlin. He also served with the Vermont National Guard. He had been married to Kathy Ripley.
