She worked with her husband operating a technical book distributorship in New York and Vermont. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Judith Scheer and Carol Lange; a son, Michael; five grandchildren.

, 80, formerly of Barre, died Feb. 9. Born in 1917 in Waitsfield, she was the daughter of George and Ella (Wood) Andrus. She attended elementary school in Barre Town and graduated from Spaulding High School and from Boston University. She was a secretary and bookkeeper for American Airlines and later worked as a civilian for the Air Force. In 1959, she married Peter duBeaumont, who died in 1971. Survivors include a daughter, Gail duBeaumont; two grandchildren; a brother; a sister; nieces and nephews.

She attended Barre schools and graduated from Spaulding High School and later from Claremont (NH) General Hospital School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse at the former Barre City Hospital and at Heaton Hospital in Montpelier. She also was a visiting nurse in the Barre area. She was the wife to the late Ben A. Eastman. She was a member of the Barre Congregational Church. Survivors include a sister, Mary Robins Guinn; a niece; two grandnieces and two grandnephews.

, 95, of Plainfield, died Feb. 9. Born in 1902 in North Fayston, she was the daughter of Elton and Abbie (Pease) Griffith. She attended schools in Fayston, Waitsfield and Moretown. In 1922, she married Nelson A. Russell, who died in 1981. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Helen Smith; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

He attended school in West Fairlee and graduated from Thetford Academy and from Champlain College with a business degree. He had worked as a logger and as a bookkeeper for Hayward Transportation Co., but the majority of his working years he was a stone mason. In 1970, he married Olivia Maxwell. Survivors include a daughter, Crystal Johnson; a son, Richard Johnson; his mother; one sister; one brother; one grandson; three aunts; an uncle; nieces, nephews and cousins.

In 1955, she married Carl E. Smith, who died in 1980. She had worked at the Granite Savings Bank in Barre and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Barre. Survivors include one son, Wayne; two sisters; two grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

, 82, of Montpelier, died Feb. 9. Born in 1916 in Calais, he was the son of Galen and Maude Hatch. He attended schools in Woodbury and worked for the State of Vermont after graduation. He served with the Army during WWII and became a career officer in the Army Reserves, retiring as Lt. Col. He had worked for the Selective Service headquarters in Montpelier. In 1946, he married Marguerite Dewar. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Carolyn Champagne and Eileen Hatch; two sons, Jeff and Keith; five grandchildren; two sisters; several nieces and nephews.

High School. In 1937, he married Nora C. Colella. He had been employed by General Electric Co. and owned and operated a dry cleaning plant and then was a hoist operator for Rock of Ages. He had served two terms in the House of Representatives in Montpelier and was a member of St. Sylvester Church in Graniteville. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Patricia (Mrs. Roger) Brault; a son, James; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

He served with the Army during WWII and then owned and operated Barnard's 302 ARCO in East Barre and later worked for Thygesen Construction Co., Mekkelson Trailer Sales and the Dixie Bobbin Co. His wife, Joyce Davis Barnard, died in 1984. Survivors include a son, Brian; two step-daughters, Joyce Coulter and Janet Gregorie; four grandsons; a brother.

He retired from the military in 1981 after 20 years and returned to Vermont and was employed by the State of Vermont Department of Transportation. Survivors include two sisters, Judy Matheson and Karla Bottiggi; an aunt; nieces and nephews.

In 1945, she married Raymond D. Hosking, who died in 1986. She was a member of the Barre Congregational Church. Survivors include a daughter, Susan Lombardi; two sons, Terry and Brent; six grandchildren.

, 78, of Waitsfield, died Feb. 23. Born in 1919 in Utica, N.Y., she was the daughter of Ralph and Esther (Butler) Burbank. She graduated from Utica Country Day School and Edgewood Park Junior College in N.Y. In 1942, she married Edgerton F. Hyde. They moved to Waitsfield in 1958 where they built and operated Madbush Chalet until 1971. In 1972, she founded the Silver Needle in Waitsfield, operating it until retirement in 1985. She was a member of St. Dunstan's Church (Episcopal) in Waitsfield. Survivors include two daughters, Catherine Gage and Anne Redding; four grandchildren.

She graduated from Montpelier High School and from Burlington Business College (now Champlain College). She had been employed as a clerk at M.H. Fishmans, an office administrator for the Red Cross, a social worker and a waitress at local restaurants. Her first husband, Joseph Alberici, whom she married in 1945, is deceased. She and her husband, Reynold Choiniere, had lived in Newport and owned Blue Bird Restaurant. Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Phyllis Alberici; five step-children, Sharon Choiniere, Ronald Choiniere, Donna Marcou, Claire Bain and James Choiniere; two grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.

, 83, of Williamstown, died Feb. 21. Born in 1914 in Chelsea, she was the son of Henry and Lena (Paul) Menard. He attended Williamstown schools and Williamstown High School. In 1941, he married Agnes Pirie. They purchased a farm in Williamstown, which they operated for 23 years. He also drove bus for Vermont Transit Bus Co. of Barre and was school bus driver for the Williamstown elementary and high schools for more than 25 years. He was a member of St. Edward's Church. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Gloria (Mrs. William) Graham; two sons, John and Clifton; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother; two sisters; nieces, nephews and cousins.
