, 92, of Bethel, died April 11. Born in 1904 in Lebanon, N.H., she was the daughter of August and Mary (Knuttunen) Haikara. She received her education in Bethel schools, graduating from Whitcomb High School and continuing her education at Lyndon Institute for Teachers. She taught schools in Charlotte and East Bethel. Survivors include two brothers, Evalit Haikara and Alfred Haikara; two sisters, Etvi McCullough and Elma Bianchi; many nieces and nephews.

, 79, of Tunbridge, died April 17. Born in 1917 in Roxbury, Mass., she was the daughter of Efford and Dorothy (Tolson) Taylor. She attended schools in Vershire and Strafford and graduated from South Royalton High School. She worked as a bookkeeper at Petco Oil Company; Vermont Poultry Outlet and Twin State Loans, all in South Royalton. In 1939, she married Dewey Farnham, who died in 1985. She was a member of the Tunbridge Congregational Church. Survivors include two sons, Bruce and Daniel; a daughter, Diane Farnham Mattoon; three sisters; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

, 80, formerly of Groton, died April 18. Born in 1916 in Groton, she was the daughter of Noah and Mary (Welch) Emery. She received her early education in Groton and graduated from Groton High School. She attended the nursing program at Brightlook Hospital and earned her nursing degree. In 1940, she married Wilfred Couillard, who died in 1996. She spent most of her life as a homemaker and parent. Survivors include her son, Lyndon; two daughters, Hope Clough and Lorie Walters; four grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

, 66, of Montpelier, died April 17. Born in 1930 in Portland, Maine, he was the son of Joseph and Barbara (Concannon) Canavan. He was a graduate of the University of Maine at Orono and enjoyed a career in science education teaching in Poultney High School, Fair Haven and Northfield high schools and at Vermont College and Vermont Technical College. He retired in 1990. In 1955, he married Patricia Stancliff. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Dawne Smith and Sheila Keiner; a son, Joseph; seven grandchildren; three sisters; several nieces and nephews.

, 74, formerly of Williamstown, died April 15. Born in 1922 in Williamstown, she was the daughter of Ernest and Eva (Bunting) Hood. She received her early education in Williamstown and Sharon, graduating from South Royalton High School and from Howles Beauty Academy in Manchester, N.H. In 1946, she married Ralph Noyes Jr., who died in 1968. In 1969, she married Roy Blancard. She was a beautician in Concord and later was employed at Granet Glove Corp., Prolife Skiwear and Thermal Dynamics. She retired in 1987. Survivors include her husband; a son, David Noyes; a daughter, Connie Fisk; two stepdaughters, Jane Dickerson and Betty McKenney; a sister; three grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; nephews.

, 77, of Waterbury, died April 16. Born in 1919 in Richmond, she was the daughter of Roy and Lena (Dubuque) Martin. She attended schools in Waterbury. She was married to Alfred Davis. In 1970, she married Fred Dumas, who predeceased her. She had worked at The Vermont State Hospital and later was employed as head of the hot lunch program at Waterbury High School and more recently as an aide at Aylward Nursing Home. Survivors include two sons, Martin Davis and Roy Davis; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother; nieces and nephews.

, III, 37, of Hardwick, died April 18. Born in 1958 in Morrisville, he was the son of Harry McCuen II and Alice Austin McCuen. He attended Stowe High School and served with the Navy. He had worked for the Hardwick Electric Department and was a member of the Hardwick Fire Department. Survivors include his wife, Bernice and sons, Michael, Shawn and Dylan; his mother; three sisters; one niece.

, 73, of Waterbury, died April 25. Born in 1923, she was the daughter of Jack and Ruth (Wheeler) Burbank. At birth she was adopted by Canning and Norah Hinman, who raised her. She graduated from Haverhill High School in Haverhill, Mass. and attended the University of Vermont and later graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a bachelor of science degree in social services. In 1943, she married Elmer Trefren, who died in 1944. In 1948, she married William Deane. She worked as a psychometrician for social services at the Vermont State Hospital in Waterbury. Survivors include two sons, Gordon and Thatcher; her birth mother, Ruth Burbank; a brother; her ex-husband, William Deane; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; 11 nieces and seven nephews.

He was employed as a custodian at Hardwick Elementary School for many years and was a self-employed tax consultant. He was a member of St. Norbert's Church. Survivors include two brothers, Robert and Emile; three sisters, Delores Booth, Lucille Greenway and Jeanie Draper; several nieces and nephews.

, 73, of Barre, died April 24. Born in 1924 in Barre, she was the daughter of Antonio and Virginia (Revilla) Perojo. She attended Barre schools and graduated from Spaulding High School. She moved to Connecticut in 1943, where she worked as a beautician. In 1946, she married Stanley Jude. They returned to Barre in 1948, where she worked as a baker at the Jarvis Bake Shop and was later employed as a sales clerk at Price Chopper. Her husband died in 1969. She was a member of St. Monica's Church in Barre. Survivors include twin sons, Anthony R. and S. Steven; two granddaughters; two sisters.

, 56, formerly of Randolph, died April 19. Born in 1941 in Randolph, he was the son of Wayne and Julia (Hunter) Sumner. He was educated in Randolph and Springfield schools. He worked for Jones and Lamson in Springfield (Conn.) and was employed by the Butler Service Group. In 1988, he married Sandra Duval. Survivors include his wife; his parents; four daughters, Kay Chase, Rae Kangas, Suzette Tinney and Nanette Sumner; 12 grandchildren; a step-daughter, Amy Driscoll; a stepson, David St. Pierre; a brother, Donald Sumner.
