, 91, formerly of Barre, died July 17. Born in 1906 in Barre, she was the daughter of William and Katherine (Murphy) McLean. The family moved to Montpelier in 1908. She graduated from Mount St. Mary's Academy in Burlington and attended Kimball Secretarial School in Lowell, Mass. In 1929, she married Thomas F. McSorley, who predeceased her. She was an accomplished pianist and taught piano lessons. She also was an artist. Survivors include a daughter, Patricia A. O'Brien; a son, Brian; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

, 59, of Williamstown, died July 18. Born in 1938 in Brookfield, she was the daughter of Clyde and Florence (Grover) Parker. She went to elementary schools in Brookfield and Graniteville and later attended Williamstown High School. She was a painter and paper hanger by trade and also worked as a cook. In 1961, she married Edgar S. Magoon Jr. Survivors include her husband; three sons, Robert Salter III, Duncan Salter and Edgar Magoon III; three daughters, Gayla Perreault, Teresa Fanton and Cheryl Curtis; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; five brothers; two sisters; several nieces and nephews.

, 81, formerly of Montpelier, died May 31. Born in 1916 in Montpelier, she was the daughter of George and Virginia (Depasquale) Bruno. She had lived in Bristol, Conn., since 1942 and was employed as head housekeeper at Carpenter Construction Co. and for Topper and Griggs in Plainville, retiring in 1975. She also sold cosmetics for the Mary Kay Co. She was a member of St. Anthony Church. Survivors include a son, Michael; two daughters, Patricia Thompson and Mary Scholl; three brothers; a sister; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Pitkin, Allen

, 91, of Montpelier, died July 15. Born in 1906 in Montpelier, he was the son of Frank and Margaret (Sabin) Pitkin. He attended Montpelier schools, graduating from Montpelier High School. He served with the Army during WWII. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1966 as a mail carrier. He continued to work for Montpelier High School in the hot lunch program. He was a member of Christ Church (Episcopal). Survivors include three cousins, Raymond Sabin, Richard Sabin and Kenneth Sabin; two nephews.

, 4, of Hardwick, died recently. Born in 1993 in Morrisville, she was the daughter of Dwayne and Andrea (Magoon) Mayo. She was a member of St. Norbert's Parish and was enrolled in Joyce LeCours Day Care. Survivors include her parents; her paternal grandparents, David and Judy Mayo; aunts, uncles and cousins.

, 86, of Barre, died July 18. Born in 1910 in Arudy, France, he was the son of Manuel and Emilia (Anso) Palacio. His family moved to Lynch, KY, where he received his early education. He graduated from Columbia University with a degree in economics and later from the New York Stock Exchange Institute. He worked on Wall Street at the New York Stock Exchange. In 1930, he married Carmen Labrana, who died in 1995. He was a member of the U.S. Army Reserves, and served in the military police. In 1949, he and his brother, Robert Corey, opened Camp Meade Motor Court in Middlesex. Survivors include a brother, Ramon; two nieces.

, 76, of South Woodbury, died July 17. Born in 1920 in South Woodbury, she was the daughter of Raymond and Bernice (Angell) Wheeler. She received her early education in North Montpelier and Plainfield schools and graduated from Plainfield High School and from Vermont Junior College. In 1945, she married Robert McKnight Gallison. She worked at the Vermont Department of Motor Vehicles and later at the dietary department at Goddard College. Survivors include her husband; a son, Lynn; a daughter, Jean Millard; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.

She graduated from Middletown High School and received her nursing education at attending classes at night. She worked for Standard Knapp Corp. in Portland, Conn. and at Coblet Lodge Nursing Home, also in Conn. In 1979, she married Arnold Rattee. Survivors include her husband; a son, Terry; three daughters, Donna Bianchi, Suzanne Dufford and Grechel Auger; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife; a sister, Evelyn Johnson; three brothers, George, Thomas and James; an aunt; nieces and nephews.

They had lived in Charlestown, N.H. for more than 50 years. He worked as a machinist at Fellows Gear Shapers, retiring in 1973. He was a member of Charlestown Congregational Church and former member of the East Barre Congregational Church. Survivors include his wife; a son, Gary; a brother; three sisters; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He attended elementary schools in East Montpelier, graduated from St. Michael's High School and from Vermont Technical College. In 1952, he married Katherine Rudd. He served with the Navy during WWII and worked in the granite industry for 45 years as a stone cutter and sandblaster at Houle-Giudici Granite Company. Survivors include his wife; a son, Greg; three grandchildren; three brothers; four sisters.

Survivors include her husband; a son, John III; a daughter, Carly; her father; her mother and stepfather, Marie and Edward Eaton; two brothers; three sisters; a half-brother; several nieces and nephews.

He was educated in Lincoln and East Middlebury elementary schools and Middlebury High School. He worked for Rossi Construction Co. of Connecticut and retired in 1988 as maintenance foreman for the state of Vermont. In 1950, he married Hilda Morrill. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Michael, Danle and Jeffrey; a sister; five grandchildren.

, 89, of Barre, died July 11. Born in 1907 in Barre, she was the daughter of Battista and Francessa Comolli. She attended Barre schools. In 1932, she married Robert Nichols, who die din 1971. She was employed at Peerless Knitting Mill and at the former Heaton House in Montpelier. Survivors include two nieces, Lillian Sullivan and Sandra Lightholder; a nephew, Richard Gariboldi.
