He graduated from Holy Angels School in St. Albans, St. Michael's College and Vermont State Police Academy. He served in the Vermont National Guard, retiring in 1986. He retired from the Vermont State Police in 1986 and was a former member of the Burlington Police Department. He was a communicant of Sts. Donatian and Rogatian Church. Survivors include his wife, Trudy (Benjamin) Martin; his mother; four children, Kevin, David, Leslie Martin-Lewis and Chrystal Martin; a grandson; three sisters; three brothers; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

, 69, of Randolph Center, died March 27. Born in 1927 in Springfield, Mass., he was the son of Louis and Sophie (Twarog) Paradysz. He had been involved in the family business, Holyoke Farm Machinery and then graduated from the University of Massachusetts and received a masters degree in optics from the University of Rochester in New York. In 1963, he married Ena E. Tunberg. He was a physics professor at Vermont Technical College in Randolph Center, retiring in 1989. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Erica Paradysz; a son, Jeffrey; two sisters.

, 86, of Chelsea, died March 26. Born in 1910 in Salem, Mass., she was the daughter of Nelson and Marion (Lambertson) Bette. She attended school in Marblehead, Mass., Corinth and Chelsea, graduating from Chelsea High School. She took teacher training courses at Montpelier Seminary and taught for one year in Chelsea. In 1930, she married Dwight N. McCullough, who died in 1987. She had been bookkeeper for her husband who operated Betts and McCullough Garage in Chelsea. Survivors include four sons, Dwight Jr., Charles, Alan and Maurice; 17 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

, 93, of Jonesville, died March 23. Born in 1903 in Richmond, she was the daughter of Samuel and Mary (Young) Lacillade. Her husband, Herbert J. Vest, died in 1992. She was a homemaker, parent and grandparent. Survivors include one son, James; five daughters, Marjorie Cobb, Marilyn Begins, Natalie Ashton, Joan Zimmerman and Carol Gurule; a sister; 22 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.

High School and attended four years of college majoring in agriculture. In 1941, he married Clara Rabtoy, who died in 1988. He worked for Dennison Manufacturing in Framington, Mass., retiring from there. He and his wife moved to Northfield Falls in 1969. Survivors include his sister, Eleanor Risch; three nephews and a niece; five step-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; four step-great-great-grandchildren.

She had worked in the law office of Sumner Darling Jr. and later at the Hardwick Trust Company, retiring in 1965. She was affiliated with the United Church of Hardwick. Her first husband, Raymond Duby, is deceased. She later married Harold R. Atkins, also deceased. Survivors include a step-daughter, Gail Prescott; a stepson, Gary Atkins; nieces, nephews and cousins.

She received her early education in Hardwick, graduating from Hardwick Academy and from Fanny Allen School of Nursing. In 1969, she married Larry Robarge. She had worked at Hardwick Hospital, Copley Hospital and Fanny Allen Hospital. She also worked at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA and was charge nurse at the Vermont State Hospital in Waterbury. She was affiliated with the United Church of Hardwick. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Raymond and John; five grandchildren; her father; three brothers; two sisters; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

, 52, of Hardwick, died March 22. Born in 1944 in Barre, he was the son of Harold Earl and Clara (Travers) Fuller Fogg. He attended public schools in Hardwick and graduated from Hardwick Academy. In 1962, he joined the Air Force, serving in Vietnam. He returned to Vermont and enrolled at Johnson State College, later transferring to Castleton State College and then to the University of Vermont, where he received a degree in education. He taught junior high school science in the Danville, Morrisville and U-32 school systems. He also attended Vermont College in Montpelier, graduating with a degree in nursing and attended the Paramedic School in Brattleboro. He moved to Rhode Island and was employed as an intensive care nurse until returning to Vermont in 1985. He was a member of the United Church of Hardwick. Survivors include his mother; his step-father, George Fogg; two step-sisters, Helen Rucker and Anita Hamilton; aunts, uncles, step-nieces, step-nephews and cousins.

He served in the Signal Corps during WWI. He was the head of the electrical engineering department at RPI, retiring in 1959. Memberships included St. John's Church (Episcopal) in Troy, N.Y. She came to the U.S. at age 10 and attended Barre City schools. In 1950, she married Raymond Thompson, who died in 1959. In 1962, she married Albert Murtaugh, who died in 1978. She worked at the Champlain and American Woolen Mills in Winooski and also at General Electric, before coming to Montpelier. Survivors include a daughter, Betty Jane Jarvis; two sisters; three brothers; many nieces, nephews and step-children.

In 1931, he married Ruth Copping. He had been a registered pharmacist and he and his wife owned and operated Cecchini Pharmacy in Barre until 1968. He later was director of pharmacy at the former Barre City Hospital and pharmacist at Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin, retiring in 1976. Survivors include his wife; a son, Robert; two granddaughters; a brother; a sister; three nieces and a nephew.
