Millie had a keen memory and always enjoyed visiting and reminiscing. She very much enjoyed her childhood and would often recount stories of her antics while growing up on the Farm "Sheltered Gables" on Higgins Hill and at the family camp on Miles Pond. Millie attended schools in St. Johnsbury and graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy in 1932. Millie met the love of her life, Morris Adams, in 1938 and they were married in 1939. After spending several years in Maine, they returned to St. Johnsbury and eventually bought a small house next to Millie's parents in East Village. While they never had children, there was scarcely a day that went by without one of the "kids" making an appearance at "MeMe's House." She loved them all and was like a second mother. She will be long remembered for the costumes she made for "the kids" for Old Home Day in the Village, and the birthday cakes which were simply amazing! She was well known among family members for her handmade Christmas decorations and gifts. MeMe was also a very accomplished seamstress and made dolls for all the young girls in the family. For many years Millie worked at Glover's, manufacturing ladies' fine gloves and later preparing meals at Aime's Restaurant. Millie loved spending time with her extended family and friends and could be counted on to rescue everything from stranded boaters to the smallest of God's creatures. Her love of nature inspired both young and old.
