Outre son époux, Mme Journet laisse dans le deuil ses enfants : Roxanne (Scott Roberts), Gwénaëlle (Olivier Bergeron), Cédric (Stéphanie Jacques) et Ségolène. Ses petits-enfants : Oscar, Raphaëlle, Aramis et Ophélie. Également sa mère Marie-Catherine Pauls (feu André Journet) et ses sœurs Elisabeth et Catherine (Michel Paris). Son beau-frère Gilles (Marise Laplante). Également plusieurs cousins, cousines, neveux, nièces, autres parents et amis.
La famille tient à remercier Dr Marius Margarit, médecin de famille, ainsi que les médecins et les équipes médicales qui ont soigné Mme Journet tout au long de sa maladie. Également merci au personnel des soins palliatifs et des soins oncologiques du CHUS Fleurimont et Hôtel-Dieu, ainsi qu’à ses collègues de la bibliothèque Haskell de Stanstead et du R.E.S.O.

Proud grandmother, leaving behind 11 grand-children and 9 great grand-children. (1943 - 2018) It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Roger Lavallière, peacefully at home, on Dec. 10, 2018, at the age of 75. He leaves to mourn his wife, Barbara Allison Lavallière, of nearly 52 years; daughter Carol; grandchildren Kimberly and Jayden Knight; mother Simonne; sisters Huguette (Marcel), Sylvie and Pauline. He is predeceased by his son Mark; father Armand; siblings Raymond (Doris), Christian (Francine), and Céline.

(1921 - 2018) A woman of strength, commitment and pragmatic wisdom, Gwen passed away peacefully at Grace Village in Huntingville on December 12th, 2018, in her 98th year.
She leaves to mourn her daughter Susan, son Michael (Debbie), and grandchildren Matthew (Holly), Stephanie (Chantelle) and Kimberley Parker. She is fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews, cousins, as well as various former students from her days of teaching in Ayer’s Cliff and other areas of the Eastern Townships. She was predeceased by siblings Aileen, Doris and Douglas Pitman, and her husband Sterling Parker.
Gwen began her teaching career in small one-room schoolhouses in the Eastern Townships. After seventeen years of full-time teaching, she married and took time off to raise a family, doing supply teaching for a number of years. In later years, Gwen devoted a great deal of her time and energy to the Women’s Institute both locally and provincially, at one time serving as president of the Quebec Women’s Institute.
The family wishes to thank the nurses, caregivers and other staff at Grace Village for their patient and loving care over the years, particularly following a stroke Gwen suffered in 2013.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 17th at 1:00 PM in the Upper Hall of Lennoxville United Church, followed by a funeral service in the sanctuary at 2:00 PM. Interment at Reedsville cemetery in North Hatley. Reception to follow in the Lower Hall of Lennoxville United Church.

(1958 - 2018) Marie-Claude Couture of Sherbrooke, Quebec, passed away peacefully at her home December 8th, 2018 at the age of 60. Predeceased by her parents Andre and Claire Couture. Survived by her children Alexandre, Vanessa, and Shawn, her two sisters Caroline and Dominique, and her two brothers Daniel and Jean -Francois. Marie-Claude was ahead of her time; an architect of peace, love, and the Light of Christ. She was a world traveler, a visionary, and a pioneer. Marie-Claude leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love and fervent prayer. She not only was a great friend but took care of those around her as if they were her own. MC you will be truly missed by family and friends. A celebration of life will be held at Eglise Sainte-Jeanne-d’Arc with a closed casket viewing from 12-1:45 PM and a funeral Mass following at 2 PM. (1930 - 2018) John, who was editor of the Canadian edition of Time magazine in Montreal from 1962 to 1973, in the Magog hospital, near his home in Georgeville, Quebec on December 20, 2018. He was 88.
He is survived by his beloved wife Janet (née Henderson), son Hugh (Sally), of Ottawa, and grandchildren Ian and Annie; and daughter Kathleen, of Petawawa; and by his first wife Wendy Scott and their four children: Marian (the late Lewis Harris), of Montreal, and grandsons Benjamin and Samuel; Robert (Sandra) and granddaughters Madeleine and Lily; Melanie, of Wakefield, Que., and her twins Evan and Mariel Scammell; and Peter (Susie), of Albion, Ca. His sister, Mary Poapst, of Toronto, died earlier in 2018; his younger brother, Gavin, died in 2008.
Born in Vancouver, John was a son of the Old Testament scholar R.B.Y. Scott and grandson of Rev. John McP. Scott, of the St. John’s Presbyterian Church, for whom Toronto’s Scott Mission was named. John attended the High School of Montreal and McGill (B.A.’53), where he was editor-in-chief of the McGill Daily. He was a reporter and assistant city editor of the Montreal Gazette before joining Time in New York in 1957.
In 1962, he returned to Montreal as head of the magazine’s first editorial office outside New York. Under his direction, Time Canada recruited a talented young staff who greatly broadened the magazine’s Canadian coverage. In 1973, John became chief of the Time-Life bureau in London. After Time closed its Canadian editorial edition in 1976, he stayed on as Time’s Ottawa bureau chief, retiring in 1984.
A memorial service will be held in Georgeville on Saturday, January 5, 2:00 pm at the GeorgevilleUnited Church, followed by a reception at the Murray Memorial Centre. Doris Pitman, at the age of 98, passed away peacefully at Grace Village in Huntingville on January 20th, 2018.
She leaves to mourn her sister Gwen Parker, and is fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews, cousins and their children, as well as friends and colleagues from Grace Chapel and the mission field in Angola. She was predeceased by her sister Aileen Lord and brother Douglas Pitman.
The family wishes to thank the nurses, caregivers and other staff at Grace Village for their loving care and concern.
A service celebrating Doris’ life will be held Wednesday, January 24th at 2:30 PM at Grace Village. The family will receive condolences prior to the service.

(1924-2018) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Theresa Wallace of Stanstead, in her 94th year, at the CHU Sherbrooke, Quebec on February 4th, 2018.
She was predeceased by her parents Raymond and Aurore Ouellette, her sisters Gertrude Corriveau and Rita Ouellette, her loving husband Richard Reid Wallace, and her son-in-law Homer Harrison.
Loving mother to her four daughters, Sandra Harrison-Pare (Walter), Shirley McNeal (Hugh), Pearl Webb (Wesley), and Lena Edwards (Andrew). Cherished grandmother of Wayne, Theresa, Roxton, Hayley, Adam, Amanda, Alivia, Tyler, and Andria, and step-grandmother to Norah and Madeleine. Great grandmother to Madyson, Erik, Maximillian, Alexander, Kennedy, Aynsley, Carson, Zoe, Hayden, and Jack.
Theresa was born in Tomifobia, Quebec and resided her whole life in Stanstead, Quebec. Theresa worked at Spencer Supports before going to Butterfields. She was a social butterfly, as they say, who loved to dance. She was a member of the Centenary United Church, the UCW, the IODE, the Curling Club, as well as the Royal Canadian Legion Women's Auxiliary. She loved to travel and had lots of friends. Always smiling and friendly. She will forever be in our hearts and will be dearly missed.
Many thanks go out to her doctors and nurses at the Magog Hospital and the CHU Sherbrooke who took such great care of our mother.

(1927-2018) Died peacefully at Hôtel-Dieu Hospital on January 29, 2018. Son of the late Carlos Coates and the late Martha Forbes. He was the youngest boy in a family of 7. He is survived by 3 younger sisters, Lila Coates Girouard, Inez Coates Dutton, Thelma Coates Turnbull and 1 sister-in-law Leona Smith Coates and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his older sister Agnes Coates Lister (Norman Lister) and his brothers Edgar Coates (Thelma Walker Coates) and Howard Coates.
He was never married and farmed in Lawrence nearly all his life and helped to take care of his parents until they passed away. In later years when he could not live alone anymore he moved to the Morrison Home where he was treated like royalty. “Thanks to all of you.”
He was a kind and gentle man and was loved by all especially the nieces and nephews as they have fond memories of lots of fun there.

Wendell Lee McKnight, 90, of North Hatley Quebec, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, March 29, 2018 at Grace Village in Huntingville, Quebec.
Wendell was born on the family farm in North Hatley to Chester McKnight and Ida Bean. He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years Gwendolyn Conner, his cherished daughters Sarah (Chris Burgess) and Eliza (Steve Harmer). He was Bumpy to his grandson Blake and his step-granddaughter Emma (Paul Stephens). Survived by his sister Mavis (late Charles Worsley), brother-in-law Wendall Conner (Myrna McKelvey). Predeceased by his brothers Elwood (Laura Worsley), Douglas (killed in action during WWII) and Alvin (who died of appendicitis at 4 years of age). Also predeceased by his sisters Olive (Albert Downing), Dorothy (Oliver Beland) and Doreen (Reg Thorne). He was a dear Unkie to numerous nieces and nephews and their children – all of whom he enjoyed keeping in touch with.
A graveside service will be held at Reedsville Cemetery in North Hatley on Wednesday, April 4th at 2 pm. Followed by a time of fellowship at the North Hatley Legion located at 95 rue Jackson Heights.

Honouring Wilder’s wishes, a private celebration of life with be held with the immediate family.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to all the caregivers who made it possible for Wilder to remain at home.
