, 93, of Barre, died Oct. 25. Born in 1906 in Quebec, Canada, she was the daughter of Charles Laraway and Elizabeth Bissell. She graduated from Sherbrooke High School in Quebec and MacDonald College, as an elementary school teacher. In 1931, she married Wilfred Langevin, who died in 1973. She was an elementary school teacher in Quebec and a substitute teacher at Orange Elementary School. She was a member of the St. Monica Church. Survivors include a daughter, Molly Abare; a son, W.C. Langevin; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.

, Sr., 62, formerly of Woodbury, died Oct. 24. Born in 1936 in Woodbury, he was the son of Edward and Juliet (Chartier) Messier. In 1968, he married Grace L. Nelson. He had served the town of Roxbury as constable, fire chief and road commissioner. He was a logger and owned and operated a sawmill. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Carmie Jr., Francis and Michael; two daughters, Louise Butterfield and Cathy Simpson; a stepson, David Nelson; a step-daughter, Irene Lantagne; four brothers; eight sisters; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

, 74, of Hardwick, died Oct. 11. Born in 1925 in Hardwick, she was the daughter of Robert and Martha (White) Beede. She attended Hardwick schools. She was first married to Chet Meehan and later to Arthur Moffett. She had been employed at Jerry's Diner, Whitcomb Grocery Store and Hardwick Knitwear. She was a demonstrator for Stanley Products and later opened Shirley's Deli in Hardwick. She was a member of the United Church of Hardwick. Survivors include her mother; a daughter, Marijane Meehan Weglarz; three sons, Lloyd Meehan, Wesley Moffett and Wade Moffett; seven sisters; two brothers; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.

, 64, of Tunbridge, died Oct. 25. Born in 1934 in Hyde Park, Mass., he was the son of Richard and Edna (Towner) Juergens. He graduated from Dedham (Mass.) High School and received a bachelor's degree from the University of Massachusetts. In 1952, he married Carol S. Chadbourne. They moved to Tunbridge in 1994. He had been employed as a sheet metal worker and served in the Marine Corps. Survivors include his wife; a son, Kurt; a daughter, Dawn Ciavattone; three brothers; two grandchildren.

He had worked in the granite industry in several Barre sheds including Rock of Ages, Thurber, LaCross, Cerasoli and Cerasoli. He established R J Hatch Construction Co. Survivors include his wife; four sons, Michael, Brent, David and Douglas; two daughters, Deborah Childs and Donna Mardin; his mother; a sister; 12 grandchildren; a great-grandchild.

He served in the infantry during WWII. He had been superintendent of schools in N.Y. and Montpelier (VT). He was the executive director of the Vermont Superintendents Association and had taught at Norwich University. Survivors include his wife, Barbara; three children, Paul, Janet Green and Sara Milano; six grandchildren; three brothers.

She had worked for the Vermont Department of Agriculture and the Vermont State Library, retiring in 1967. She was a communicant of St. Augustine's Church. Survivors include several cousins.

He graduated from Williamstown High School and in 1952, married Shirley Shangraw. He had been a salesman for King Cole Potato Chips and Farrell and Sons Distributing Co. and later worked at Lacillade Lumber Co. in Williamstown. He had served in the Army from 1950-52, and was a member of the East Barre and Williamstown fire departments. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Paul Jr. , Douglas and Gregory; two brothers; two sisters; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

In 1943, she married Francis Putney, who died in 1978. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Sylvester's Church. Survivors include two sons, Robert and Richard; a daughter, Mary Rose (Mrs. Robert) Newton; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.

He had served in the Army during WWII. He began working in the family granite business, Grearson and Lane Inc., and later he and his brother, Lloyd, continued its operation. He retired in 1989. He was first married to Lillian Robinson and in 1968, married Lucille Beltrami Sartelle. Survivors include his wife; their daughter, Leona Bizzozero; a step-daughter, Debra Sartelle; a step-son, James Sartelle; four grandchildren; cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

In 1969, she married Frank Sinclair. She taught school in Middlesex, Woodbury, Calais and Springfield and was later employed as an adult education teacher at Spaulding High School in Barre. She was a member of the Crossroad Christian Church in East Montpelier. Survivors include four daughters, Carol Sinclair, Nancy Bailey, Ruth Friot and Martha Belanger; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

She was a comptroller for Self Help Enterprises and secretary for WAVES National, Oregon Webfoot United 46. Survivors include two brothers, Charles Buck and Donald Buck; two sisters, Bernice De Felice and Phyllis Spaulding; a longtime companion, Bonnie Wittwer.

He was a computer technician at National Life, retiring in 1986. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War and the Vietnam War. Survivors include a son, John; two daughters, Cheryl McKinnon and Melissa Rabin; two brothers; two sisters; nine grandchildren.
