, 87, of Northfield, died Jan .24. Born in 1911 in Moretown, he was the son of Fred and Ola (Warren) Wheeler. He attended Moretown and Riverton schools. In 1934, he married Madeline Taylor, who predeceased him. He was a farmer and worked on road construction for many years. He owned and operated a Ford tractor dealership in Riverton and was a well-known auctioneer. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church in Northfield. Survivors include a daughter; four brothers; two sisters; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

He attended elementary school in Brookfield and graduated from Williamstown High School. He carried on the operation of the family farm. Survivors include six sisters, Edith Boright, Irene Cady, Esther Rose, Gail Lamson, Carol Rousseau and Ruth Lane; nieces and nephews.

, 74, formerly of Washington, died Jan. 23. Born in 1924 in Washington, he was the son of George and Lulu (Gallant) Denison. He attended schools in Washington. In 1947, he married Jureen Colby. He served with the Army during WWII. He was employed by the railroad in Vermont and Alaska and retired in Sterling, Colo. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church. Survivors include his wife; a son, Alan; a daughter, Ellen Dunkling; two granddaughters; three brothers.

, 72, of Stowe, died Jan. 23. Born in 1926, she was the daughter of Frank and Inez (McManis) Bean. She was raised by Carrol and Laura McManis. She graduated from Stowe High School and attended Johnson Normal School. In 1949, she married Richard Wilkins, who died in 1989. She was a switchboard operator for New England Telephone in Stowe Village and more recently was a secretary at the Village of Stowe Water and Light Department. She was a member of the Stowe Community Church. Survivors include three daughters, Janet (Mrs. Bruce) Godin, Gwyn (Mrs. Randy) Manidgo and Ricki (Mrs. Michael) Siska; a son, Jack; eight grandchildren; a sister; many nieces and nephews.

She graduated from Waterbury High School and in 1928, married Roland L. DeCelle. She was a homemaker and also owned and operated Colbyville TV Co. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Bradenton, Fla. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Mary Wadsworth and Carolyn Ellis; one son, Paul DeCelle; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters.

He worked at the Paul Hopkins Hardware Store and was road commissioner for Cabot. He trained municipal grader operators in Vermont. He served in the Army during the Korean War. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Paul, Allan and Timothy; two sisters; six grandchildren.

, 72, of Hardwick, died Jan. 29. Born in 1926 in St. Johnsbury, he was the son of Guy and Belle (Steadford) Thompson. He attended Barre public schools. In 1969, he married Patricia Ann Collier, who died in 1969. In 1971, he married Nila Louise Sargeant. In his earlier years he worked for the Pratt and Whitney Company and Howard Johnson, both in Hartford, Conn. He returned to Vermont in 1954 and worked for Orleans Manufacturing, delivered milk for Lauradon Jersey Farms for 20 years and Booth Brothers for six. He was employed by the Town of Greensboro and then moved to Hardwick and drove bus for Wildcat Busing, was a short order cook for the FireSide Restaurant and a custodian for the Town of Hardwick and the Maple Street Apartments. He was a past member of the Greensboro Fire Department. Survivors include his wife; two sons, David and William G.; three daughters, Audria Cleveland, Ginger Hall and Vicki Bisson; a step-son, Jody Berard and a step-daughter, Patricia Wakeham; a brother; nine grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She attended a private Catholic school in Canada. In 1951, she married Richard Ward Hill. She was employed by the Royal Bank of Canada and later the Vermont Transportation Agency, retiring in 1981. He also attended Chelsea High School and the Vermont School of Agriculture in Randolph Center. In 1955, he married Phyllis M. Taplin. He worked at Merli Goodwin sawmill in Calif. and had worked at the Hovey Bacon and Arthur Button farms in Chelsea. He also operated a milk route for Chelsea Creamery and worked as a mechanic for the E.H. Kennedy garage in Chelsea. He was a carpenter and was employed by Lacillade Lumber Co. in Williamstown and Martin's Ford Tractor in East Brookfield. He retired in 1978. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Sandy Emerson; a son, Douglas; two grandchildren; an aunt; two special friends; nieces, nephews and cousins.

, 79, of Northfield, died Jan. 28. Born in 1919 in Nova Scotia, Canada, she was the daughter of Frank and Agnes Beals. In 1942, she married Robert Fitzgerald, who died in 1971. She had worked at Maynard Moore in Stoneham, Mass. for over 35 years. She moved to Tunbridge in 1973 and then Randolph, prior to going to the Mayo Nursing Home in Northfield in 1998. Survivors include her nephew and his wife, Ken and Nicole Fitzgerald and their children; a niece and a nephew.

She graduated from Upper Montclair High School and attended Lycee Ma Liere and Chateau DeBologne, a finishing school in Paris. In 1927, she married Charles Lester, who died in 1947. She later married Theodore Lyman who died in 1966 and Merritt Follett who died in 1971. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Randolph. Survivors include a stepdaughter, Peggy Ann Lyman; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

Survivors include three sisters, Patricia Gilman, Denise Carrier and Cynthia Miller; two brothers; many nieces and nephews.

She was a student at U-32 High School, where she was a junior and planned to attend the University of Hawaii. She was quite accomplished in arts and crafts and enjoyed working at the Maple Corner Store in East Calais. Survivors include her father; her mother; two brothers, George and Toby; a maternal grandfather, Curtis Morey; paternal grandparents, Kenneth and Mary Robinson; aunts, uncles and cousins.
