Vermont Northeast Kingdom Genealogy Query - Message Board BENTON I am looking for information on Joel Benton (30 Sep 1761 - 16 Apr 1839) and his possible son Royal Lavern Benton (01 Oct 1794 - 08 Sep 1846) I'm trying to clean up a garbage section of my genealogy. I have a tree that was made almost 100 years ago that lists a Joel Benton as the father of Royal Lavern Benton. I know that Royal Benton was born in Barton, VT, and Joel Benton was buried in Barton. Several of Royal's children are also listed as being born in Barton (Joel, 1820, Lodesca, 1831, and Emiline 1832). Frustratingly, the fourth child Francis (and my great grandfather) is listed as being born in Bennington, but that's still possible. Anyway, I'm looking for any info that can verify that the Joel Benton b 1761 is the father of Royal Benton b 1794. Thanks! Debora show email address
