Vermont Northeast Kingdom Genealogy Query - Message Board SCAMMELL Dear Researcher, I've tracked my family back to William and Abigail Scammell, who left Lyndon, VT in 1816 and came to the LaFayette/Tully, NY area that spring. Charles North from your area helped me track down material that substantiated that a William Scammell was paid for some carpentry work in the Spring of 1816 in Lyndon, but I've never been able to turn up anything else. Assuming William came to Lyndon in 1816 or earlier, does anyone know what route(s) might he have come by to get there?
