CURRIER
Hi All fellow researchers I need some help. I've posted messages on genealogy sites looking for information about my g-grandfather. He is listed in the 1900-1920 census' as Alfred or Fred Currier, living in Maidstone Vermont, b. about 1865. He was married to Louisa Masters dau. of Benjamin Masters & Dorany or Lorany (Rogers) Masters. Louisa- b. 1871 NH, d. 1912. Alfred, Louisa & Alfred's second wife, Katherine or Catherine along with a young child of Louisa & Alfred are buried in Maidstone,Vermont. I've acquired a lot of information on my family, but would like to find their marriages, deaths, etc. Some are buried in Guildhall,VT( Elvira & Elevena with their spouses, married 2 Allen brothers) Lancaster,NH and Newport,NH. The question I have ,is if anyone can look at either the tombstones or find a record of Alfred's burial or death record. He died 1948. I would like to know what it says on the tombstone or maybe something in the town history of Maidstone. The reason for this is that I just got confirmation that his name may be listed as Carrier. I cannot get a copy of a death record if I don't have his full name. At some point, the name changed from Carrier to Currier. I did get a copy of his sister's death record from NH last week. Is says she was born to Joseph & Angele (Lavertu) Carrier(Currier). I got two different documents, one says Carrier, other says Currier. I know it was the person who wrote the record as Currier that was wrong, I have his marriage record which says Joseph Carrier from Quebec, Canada. I am a g-granddaughter through Alfred's son Amos. Amos was born 1891 in Maidstone. Other siblings of Amos are: Elevena, Elvira, Hosea, Dana(died @ 2 months), Lewis, Nathan, Alsina(?sp), all born Maidstone, VT. My father's brother, Kenneth was also born in Maidstone,Vermont. Our name is Currier. show email address |
