, 85, of South Wheelock, VT passed away Thursday April 14, 2016 at his daughter Carol's home in Raymond NH, after suffering a long illness. He was born on February 27, 1931 in Lyndon Center, VT, the son of Harry Albright and Ruth (Moulton) Albright Austin. He was a 1949 graduate of Lyndon Institute, Lyndon Center, VT. He was married to Ila (Simpson) Albright for 63 years. Allen was in the US Marine Corps for 3 years and then the US Army retiring after 20 years active duty. Allen owned Radio repair and Satellite installation business. He also lived in FL with his wife Ila for 15 years. His main enjoyment was music but he had many hobbies including cars and planes. Allen is survived by his wife Ila (Simpson), sister Lois (Austin) Shea of Manchester, NH. He is also survived by daughter Carol and her husband Michael Boyer of Raymond NH, and son James Albright and his wife Heidi of Littleton, NH. He has 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren whom he enjoyed very much. There are many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is predeceased by a son Allen Jr. (1956), daughter Martha Susan (1957), his parents, brother Ellis Austin and sister Emily Chadburn. A Funeral service will be held at 1pm Saturday April 23, 2016 at Pearsons Funeral Home, 70 Church Street, Lyndonville, VT. Burial will be held in the Lyndon Center Cemetery in Lyndon, VT immediately following the service with a Color guard presentation of the US Flag that Allen was so proud of. Ralph had been employed as a machinist all of his life for many local machine shops in the area. In 1991 he went to work for Vermont Aerospace and worked there illness forced him to retire in 2012. He loved to hunt, fish, camping, woodworking and spending quality time with his kids and grandchildren. He is survived b y his wife Margaret "Peggy" Allard of Lyndonville, VT; one son, George Allard and wife Nicole of Burke, VT.; and one daughter, Addie Chase and husband David of East Burke, VT; four granddaughters, Katlyn, Mikayla, Cora and Ashley and one grandson, Joseph Chase. , 89, of West Burke died Thursday, August 4, 2016 at St Johnsbury Health and Rehab. He was born in Newark, VT on August 15, 1926 the son of James and Margaret (Morgan) Ball. He attended schools in Newark and Barton, VT. Ken had been employed for more than fifty years for the Agway Company first in Newport, VT and then retiring in Lyndonville, VT. He enjoyed Gardening, the outdoors, his sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his wife to whom he was married to for Sixty-Seven years, Bernice Ball of West Burke, VT.; two sons, Russell Ball of West Burke, VT and Donald Ball and his companion Maree Bushey of West more, VT.; two grandsons, Robert and his wife Raychel and Kent and his wife Jillian; six great-grandchildren, Dallas, Dakota, Rileah, Kameryn, Kenzie and Burke; three step-grandchildren, Mark and Chris Hall and their mother Monique Ball and Lee Barrup; one sister, Josephine Worth of Newport, VT and one brother, Jim Ball of West Burke, VT. Several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one brother, Everett Ball. Graveside funeral services will be private and held at a later date. There are no calling hours. of St. Johnsbury passed away peacefully at his home on March 14, 2016. Dick was born August 8, 1937 in Sutton, Vermont, the youngest son of Winfred Elmer and Hazel Clara Taylor Bean. He attended school in East Burke and spent one year at the St. Johnsbury Trade School before joining the Air Force in 1944. He was discharged in 1947 and upon his return he obtained his GED and began working full-time. Dick married Norma Irene Powers, daughter of Francis and Gertrude Batchelder Powers, on November 19, 1960 and after a long separation, formally divorced in 1987. Dick was a "Jack of all trades" with many talents and abilities. At 16 he worked on the construction of the Moore Dam. After his military service he was employed as a construction worker on the St. Lawrence Seaway project in New York. He then returned to Vermont and worked at Fairbanks Morse for two years before moving back into construction. His last major project was in Texas with Ralston Purina where he worked as a steeplejack. He returned to Vermont permanently and worked on additional construction projects locally before ill health forced his retirement. Dick enjoyed nature and was happiest when he was out hunting or fishing. He was also involved in the local American Legion and the Caledonian Field & Stream Outing Club. Dick was predeceased by his parents, four brothers (Robert, Melvin, Benny and Winfred "Peanut") and three sisters (Priscilla, Patricia Garand and Elizabeth "Susie" Pearsons). He is survived by one brother, Calvin Taylor Bean of Bountiful, UT and many nieces, nephews and friends. Final interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Waterford, Vermont, where a private graveside service will be conducted in the Spring. , of Irasburg, died peacefully at his home on March 29, 2016 at the age of 91. He was born on August 10th, 1924 in Waterford, Vt, the son of Carl and Ona (Goss) Blodgett. He graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy in 1942, then attended and received an Agriculture degree from the Vermont School of Agriculture, now known as Vermont Technical College in 1944. Warren married Virginia Larabee, the love of his life, on September 22, 1945. Together, Warren and Virginia farmed on the family farm in Lower Waterford, Vt, then in 1959 moved to the farm in Irasburg. They raised six children, as well as opening their home to many foster children. Warren farmed all his life, providing a happy and loving home for his family. He served in a number of town offices in both Waterford and Irasburg, including Lister, Town Auditor, Board of Civil Authority, School Board and Selectman. He was a long-standing member of Farm Bureau and was named Vermont Farmer of the Year in 1987. A man of deep faith, he valued his many friendships at Albany Methodist Church. Warren will be fondly remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, dedication to his family, his integrity, honesty and fairness, and by his welcoming bright blue eyes and quick, genuine smile. Survivors include his children; Barbara Blodgett Russell, Dennis Blodgett, Shirley Moulton and her husband Dwight, Patricia Blodgett and her fiance, Gary Crosby, David Blodgett, Neil Blodgett and his wife Christine, and his daughter in law Cathy Blodgett. He is also survived by grandchildren; Jason, Christopher, Scott, Todd, Cindy, Nicholas, Corinne, Nichole, Neil Jr and Zachary, and by several great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife, Virginia, his siblings, his son, Russell Blodgett and by his daughter in law, Mildred Nault. A memorial service will be held April 9, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the Albany Methodist Church. A luncheon will be served at the church following the service. Arthur was married to the late Geraldine S. Bolton who predeceased him in August of 2007. He returned to Burke to be with family and friends during this battle while being closely guarded by his dog Bella. Shane was born July 8, 1976 and attended elementary school in Burke, Lyndon Institute and Vermont Technical College. Shane was employed in the field of roadway and bridge surveying and engineering working the last several years with Parsons Brinckerhoff as a Senior Construction Inspector, a position that he enjoyed and company where he had many friends. Shane enjoyed sports and cooking and grilling, especially with friends and family. Shane is survived by his parents, Wayne and Susan Sanderson Carr of East Burke, VT.; one sister Heather Rutledge and her husband Derek and Shane’s beloved nieces Jericho and Harper Rutledge and nephew Briar Rutledge of St. Johnsbury, VT. He also has many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and friends in the Burke area and across the country that he enjoyed spending time with. , 81, a longtime resident of St. Johnsbury passed away peacefully at St. Johnsbury Health and Rehab on July 12, 2016 He was born March 28, 1935 the son of Harvey and Sadie (Paris) Chamberlain in Lyndonville, VT. Dale was an avid horseshoe player, fisherman and outdoorsman and loved working on his land. Dale was known for giving a family speech that could easily outlast most. He graduated from Lyndon Institute and served on the USS Albany 123 in the United States Navy for four years. He returned to St. Johnsbury and worked for the Canadian Pacific St. J and LC Railroad for thirty years. Dale took an early retirement and worked for St. Johnsbury Municipalities as a custodian and very well adored school bus driver. He fully retired in 1995. Dale loved spending time with his three grandsons, Steven Poulos, Justin and Joshua Chamberlain as well as fishing and hunting. He loved cooking for his granddaughter Kathryn Poulos especially her favorite hot chicken wings. He is survived by his wife of fifty six years, Yolande ( Yolie) Perron Chamberlain of St. Johnsbury, VT., one son, Mark Dale Chamberlain and his wife Elaine and their children, Justin and Joshua Chamberlain of Lyndonville, VT.; one daughter Diane Chamberlain and her two children Kathryn and Steven Poulos of St. Johnsbury, VT. many, many relatives( especially Yolies family as she is one of eighteen siblings; one brother Donald Chamberlain and Elmore Paris and their families and a niece Kathy Mulholland. In 1945, he entered the US Army and was for a time stationed in Europe as part of the Army Occupation. He was a Military Police and later a constable in anti smuggling and anti Nazi Operations. Upon returning to the U.S., Norman lived and worked a variety of jobs around New England. In his later years he established a salvage and hauling business. At this time, he was an active member of the V.F.W., The American Legion and was a commander of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter in St. Johnsbury, VT. Norman most recently resided at the St. Johnsbury Health and Rehab facility where he was lovingly cared for by a professional and compassionate staff for which his wife and family are grateful. Norman is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mae Conley of Sutton, VT., as well as daughters Arvesta St. Peter and Virginia Lamire and sisters Mary Bartlet and Edna Clark and a brother Jesse Conley. He was born on December 19, 1962 in St. Johnsbury, VT the son of Eugene C. and Sheila (Goss) Davis. He attended schools in Lyndon and was a 1981 graduate of Lyndon Institute. Kevin worked for Beattie Crushing and Screening in Lyndonville from 1981-1994 he then went to work for the Town of Lyndon where he worked until his passing. He also worked with Dennis Bouffard at Lyndon Truck Center for many years. He was one of the Directors at the Caledonian County Fair and also head of Maintenance at the fairgrounds. He enjoyed Demo Derby’s, hunting and fishing, camping and loved to ride his motorcycles. He is survived by his wife Sandra Davis of Lyndonville, VT; two daughters, Samantha Davis and her companion Dan Guest of Lyndonville, VT and Nicole Davis of Lyndonville, VT; two sons, Jonathan Davis and his wife Christina of Sutton, VT and Michael Davis of Lyndonville, VT; one grandson, Matthew Davis; one sister Tamela Davis Hastings of Lyndonville, VT; and a very special friend Dennis Bouffard; one sister-in-law, Melody Persons and her husband Dewey of St. Johnsbury, VT; one brother-in-law Larry Norrie and his wife Nancy of Lyndon, VT and his mother-in-law Charlotte Norrie of Lyndonville, VT, many nieces and nephews. , of Lyndonville, Vermont died November 9, 2016 at the age of 80 surrounded by his loving family. Reginald was born in Lyndonville, Vermont to his parents Clarence R. and Gladys Wheeler Dwyer on August 5, 1936. He attended area schools and graduated from Lyndon Institute in 1954. He served in the National Guard Unit for 9 years rising to SGT. 1st Class. Reginald married Barbara Simpson on June 13, 1959 and they raised three children in Lyndonville and Sheffield, Vermont. Reg worked from the time he was 14 years old, first at a mill and then for Clarence Burrington on the farm where his father worked. He ran a garage for a while with Murdo Smith, worked at Fairbanks & Morse for a short time, and became a self-employed logging contractor operating under the name of Dwyer Brothers Logging. He and his sons, Gary and Terry worked the business until they took over when he retired. Gary and his son Michael still continue the business today. When his wife traveled to attend seminary, he kept things going at home and was tremendously supportive to her. He was very proud of her accomplishments. Reg served as Lister for the Town of Sheffield, helped for years on the annual Sheffield Field Day. He also served as a Trustee of Lyndonville United Methodist Church. Reg was an avid hunter, loved fishing and camping with his family, snow machining and reading. He was very knowledgeable on most any subject and could converse with anyone. Sometimes he was accused of being quite opinionated. He loved the woods and enjoyed teaching the children, grandchildren and great grandchildren the different species of trees, birds and wild flowers. Being a good mechanic, grandchildren and nephews would bring their snow machines for Reg to fix. Reg discovered his love for traveling when he won trips through 4-H, going to Washington DC and Chicago. Later a trip to Majorca, Spain with his wife and camping through many of the United States as he and his family visited California, Florida, Delaware and Alaska among others. Reg is survived by his wife Barbara of 57 years, his daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Calvin Conover, their children Celeste Brasseur, Ryan and Rhonda Conover and Cynthia and Matt Doherty, great grandchildren Larissa, Jeziah, Ellie, Dylan, Destiny, Anthony and Ada. His Son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Lenore Dwyer, their children Joey and Stacey Dwyer, Michael and Stephanie Dwyer, Tadd and Sara Dwyer, Arlen Dwyer, great grandchildren Dylan, Ava, Cameron, Jillian, Kyra and Brianna. His Son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Dawn Dwyer, their children Magen and Jeremiah Bias, Miranda and Ryan Fox, great grandchildren Owen, Reese, Grayson and Maverick. He is also survived by his Brother Walter Dwyer and Sister Carolyn Fassett. He was predeceased by his Parents Clarence and Gladys Dwyer and his Siblings Ronald, Kenneth , Stephen Dwyer and Lois Noyes and many nieces and nephews. , 1937-2016, a resident of Littleton, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2016. Pat was born Feb. 15, 1937, in San Bernardino, California, the daughter of Elmer G. and Bernice (Briggs) Motschman. A California native, she graduated from Pacific High School. As a member of the FFA, she enjoyed raising calves and showing them at the county fairs. She married her high school sweetheart, Richard J. Fryer, on July 16, 1955. She traded in her cows and Daddy’s hogs for raising children. They raised their family in the rural mountain communities of California. She was a wonderful stay-at-home mom, and enjoyed sewing, cooking, and other other domestic activities. She loved the outdoors, especially camping, hiking, and fishing. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served a mission for the Church with her husband in their later years in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Pat is survived by her six children, Ann (Ross) Larson, Sarah (Dick) Donovan, Elaine (Curt) Gray, Sandy White, Richard (Kellie Ann) Fryer, Grant Fryer, and Jim Fryer, 27 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Bonnie Motschman. She was preceded in death by her husband; a brother, Fred Motschman; a sister, Shirley Goodman; and a brother-in-law, Robert Goodman. Funeral services will be held at noon on April 11 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints, Rte 5 So. in Lyndonville. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be at Wheeler Hill Cemetery in Littleton.

She had been employed at the Canterbury Inn, Palmer Brothers, Mitchells in Barre, VT and also Sprague Electric in Barre, VT. She also had worked at the Community College of Vermont in Montpelier, VT. She is survived by her four children, Ronald and Mary(Moulton) Austin, John Austin and friend Roger Leduc, Nancy(Austin) Renfrew and Russell and Pam(Lowry) Austin; six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one sister Ella (Williams) Rexford. Graveside funeral services will be held on May 20, 2017 at 10 am in the family lot in the North Monroe Cemetery. She was the daughter to the late Eugene & Helen Greenwood. She was raised in Lyndonville, VT and was educated at Lyndon Institute, graduating in 1955. Lois worked as a papergirl, where she met her husband, Monroe "Sonny" Gilman. She was also a homemaker, who loved to cook and bake for her loved ones. She enjoyed celebrating with family, playing cards and watching the birds. Lois had many health problems over the last 50 years. She was a strong woman and always portrayed an optimistic attitude. She is survived by her sisters: Betsy Lund & Patricia Duford, brother: Roland Greenwood, loving husband of 60+ years: Sonny Gilman, her children: Howard & Debbie Gilman, Brenda & Ervine, Sr. Aiken, and Brad & Donna Gilman, her 13 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. Born on August 15, 1929 in Winooski, VT, he was the son of John and Helen (Johnston) Goodsell. Harry was a 1948 graduate of Lyndon Institute in Lyndon Center, VT. On July 9, 1948 he married Gertrude Ila Goodsell.In earlier years, he was employed by the Boston and Maine Railroad, until he began his career with the State of Vermont Department of Corrections. He rose through the ranks to become the Superintendant of the St. Johnsbury State Correctional Facility for several years and retired in 1991 from the Department of Corrections as the Supervisor of Probation and Parole. In retirement, he loved attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. He was an avid fan of Boston Sports Teams and the Montreal Canadians. He and his wife travelled to every state except Alaska and they enjoyed vacationing at Pompano Beach, FLand Colorado.. Big Band Music was his favorite music, especially "Count Basie". He leaves his loving wife of 67 years Gertrude N.. Goodsell of Wells River, VT; A daughter Lana G. Leene and her husband James of Waterbury Center, VT; three grandchildren Kate Leene and fiancé Christopher Godfrey of South Hadley, MA, Brennan Leene and wife Gillian Russell Leene of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, and Kara Leene Saleeby and husband Ramsey Saleeby of Washington, DC. , 93, of St. Johnsbury passed away on June 1, 2016 at the St. Johnsbury Health and Rehabilitation Center. Russell was born in Lyndon, Vermont on May 25, 1923, to Allen Lynaugh and Flossie (Gilbert) Lynaugh. At the age of three, his mother died and Russell and his three sisters were raised by his Aunt Bertha Gilbert and Uncle Morris Gilbert. His high school days at Lyndon Institute were cut short when World War II broke out. He decided to leave school half way through his senior year and enlisted in the Army Air Corp. He saw action in New Guinea, Bismarck Archipelago, and Southern Philippines. After receiving an honorable discharge in 1946 from the Army Air Corp, Russell worked at VT Tap & Die and Ralston Purina, as well as painting houses. On Columbus Day, 2008, Lyndon Institute surprised Russell by presenting him with his high school diploma in front of students, staff, faculty, and his five sons. Russell is survived by four sons; Donald Lynaugh of Williston, Dale Lynaugh and wife Elaine of Peacham, Dwayne Lynaugh and wife Susan of North Danville, and Danny Lynaugh and wife Judy of Dahlonega, Georgia. Russell was predeceased by his parent, Allen and Flossie Lynaugh, his son Dennis Lynaugh, and his three sisters; Barbara Truex of Binghamton, NY, Glenn Lynaugh of Falls Church, VA, and Marion Root of St. Johnsbury, VT. At Russell’s request, there will be no visiting hours or funeral. The family will observe services privately at a later date. 45 of SDt. Johnsbury passed January 9, 2016. He was born November 17, 1970 in St. Johnsbury, the son and only child of Henry Morey and Shirley Aldrich. He attended schools in St. Johnsbury and the Academy. In his youth years he enjoyed baseball and was known for his fast left hand pitch balls with no hitter games. He loved hunting and fishing and especially the competition with his father, family and friends. He also loved playing horseshoes with his friends. He was a furniture maker at DIC in Lisbon, NH for many years. Later he worked for NSA Industries in St. Johnsbury, VT. Although he had only one child of his own he loved children. Survivors include: a daughter, Danielle Morey of Columbia, SC, parents Henry Morey and Shirley Aldrich of St. Johnsbury, VT, many uncles: David & wife Fay of Cartersville, GA, Richard & wife Carol of Barnet,VT, Robert and wife Christine of Lunenburg, VT, Theodore & wife Jean of Conway, SC, Dennis & wife Helen of Springfield, TN, many Aunts Barbara Way of St. Johnsbury, LindaHarris and husband Pastor John Harris of Madison, OH, Cindy St.Francis and husband Terry, and many cousins. Very special friends Richard (Hooker) and Judy Fisher of St. Johnsbury and close cousins Terry Malone, Royce Masten and Larry Virge. He was proceeded by paternal grandparents Earl and Olive Morey and maternal grandparents Dennis and Orinthia Aldrich. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. , 70, of Sutton, Vermont, passed away peacefully at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital in St. Johnsbury, VT, on February 29, 2016, with Ron, her loving friend and husband of 49 years, at her side. She had been in declining health for several years. She was born on May 22, 1945, in Palmer, MA, to Joseph Henry Staniszewski and Angelina (Grandi) Staniszewski. She is survived by her husband Ronald Pal and was predeceased by her son John Pal. She graduated from high school in Palmer, MA, and received her nursing degree at Springfield Tech Community College in Springfield, MA. She later earned a bachelor’s degree in human services at the University of New Hampshire. She began her long nursing career at Monson MA State Hospital. At that time she met the love of her life Ronald, and after marriage she worked at Stafford Springs Hospital in Stafford Springs, CT, and several nursing homes in Manchester, CT. From her early years she recalled visiting her grandmother’s farm in Palmer, MA, located along the Ware River and recited many fond memories of her grandmother and life at the farm: fishing, gardening, picking berries, and general farm life. With her husband and young son John (seven months) she moved to Sutton, VT, in 1972, and there she continued her nursing career working until health reasons caused her to stop. At her last place of work, St. Johnsbury Rehab, she had perfect attendance for at least two years. Throughout her career, she made many co-worker friends who will miss her now. Also, she worked at Founder’s Hall at Northeast Vermont Regional Hospital from the day it started to the day it closed, about thirteen years. There she helped many patients troubled by alcohol abuse to rehabilitate. Joanne enjoyed working in her flower and vegetable garden as long as she was physically able. She and her husband filled the freezers with their produce and shared it and flowers with others. Later in life she would enjoy just sitting in a chair sunning herself while her husband worked in the gardens. She enjoyed cooking and creating recipes with their vegetables and the fish and game they harvested together while she was able. Becoming an avid fan of the cooking channels, she enhanced her already gourmet cooking. Her latest idol from the cooking channel was little Peggy Fischer, a local child who competed in TheKids’ Baking Championship and for whom Joanne enjoyed rooting every week. Joanne and her husband enjoyed vacationing in northern New Hampshire, where they hunted, fished, and loved the people and countryside, especially the Swift Diamond River and Dead Diamond River Watershed area. The gem of all was going to Little Diamond Pond located at the headwaters of the Swift Diamond. She especially loved going to Grandma Haynes’s Farm to buy produce, going to the annual chicken pie supper at the Mohawk Grange in East Colebrook, NH, and going to Weirs Christmas Tree Farm and picking out the annual tree. In addition to her husband, she leaves a brother Joseph Staniszewski and his wife Luanne of Palmer, MA; a sister Stella Marx and husband Henry of Thorndike, MA; a sister Leona Silgado of Lighthouse Point, FL; a niece and godchild Joanne Staniszewski of Denver, CO; a nephew Joshua Marx; two stepsons Winslow Thayer and Leigh Thayer and their families respectively of S. Yarmouth and Hyannis, MA; one granddaughter, Samantha Pal; and dearest friend Sherri Mitchell of West Burke, VT. There are no calling hours. Cody was employed at NSA, enjoyed four wheeling, snowmachining, hunting, fishing, men’s league softball, Lyndon Institute Football. He was a Kansas City Chiefs fan, and he enjoyed spending time with his dog Nugget and his family. She enjoyed going to the races at Bear Ridge, watching her sons Karl and Steve in local Demolition Derbies. She also like to attend baseball games her son Rodger coached. She is survived by her sons Rodger Sheldon and fiancé Valerie Rutledge of Concord, VT, Steve and Melissa Sheldon of St. Johnsbury, Karl and Crystal Sheldon of St. Johnsbury; her mother Laura Rodger of Newark, VT, Sister Kathy &Stanley Gray of Claremont, N.H. brother, Rocky & Charlotte Rodger of Newark, Vt.; Grandchildren (Rodger) Benjamin and Samuel Rutledge, (Steve) Stevie Sheldon, Hannah Leonard, (Karl) Brandon, Ethan, Aiden as well as several nieces and nephews. died on June 10, 2016, in Lyndonville, Vermont, at the age of 92. She was born August 8, 1923, in Cumberland Gap, Tennessee, the daughter of F. Giltner Salyers and Marie (Eue) Salyers. In 1946 she married John F. Shearer of Burlington, Vermont. They divorced in 1960. She worked and raised her three children in Burlington. She spent most of her working life as a hotel front desk clerk, where she met the public with unfailing cheerfulness and courtesy. She was a valuable employee at hotels including: the Sheraton and the Holiday Inn in Burlington; Top Notch and the Golden Eagle Resort in Stowe. She was a talented seamstress, sewing for her children and grandchildren, as well as making most of her own clothes. She was known to come home from work and make an outfit which she would then wear to work the next morning. She enjoyed singing, and for many years sang with a barbershop chorus. She knew a multitude of songs, and would often "bless" her children by bursting into song. She loved to cook for her family, with a much-loved specialty of leg of lamb. This led to her favorite family nickname, "Lamby Grammy". She cherished her family, and especially her five grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. She was very involved in the lives of her oldest grandchildren, Josh and Hannah Glass. She often lamented that she was too old to be actively involved with her younger grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren, but she loved them all and was very proud of them. She was pre-deceased by her parents and her two brothers, William and Edwin Salyers. She is survived by her children: Caryl Proctor and husband Jim of Lyndonville; Mark Shearer of Ellenton, Florida; and Jas Shearer-McMahon and husband Shannon of Livermore, Colorado; her grandchildren: Josh Glass of Atlanta, GA, and his children Jarret & Galina; Hannah Glass-McShinsky of Sharon, VT, and her children Maddie, Robby, Marcus and Hank; Gabe Proctor of Mammoth Lakes, CA; Joanna Proctor Bell and husband Isaac of Holloman Air Force Base, NM; and Sam Proctor of Lyndonville, VT. As her health diminished, it was difficult for her to lose her independence, but it helped that she was able to live close to her daughter Caryl. When she could no longer live alone, she made her home with Susie Greaves in Lyndonville. The family is very grateful for the excellent care that was provided to their Mom/Grammy/LambyGrammy. A funeral service will be held at the Lyndonville United Methodist Church (100 Church St., Lyndonville, VT) on Friday, June 17 at 11:00 a.m.

She volunteered for many organizations and liked to play cards, bingo and join friends at the meal sites. She worked at Maple Grove for over 40 years while helping her husband Sherman run the farm. She was predeceased by her husband Sherman, 2 sisters Madeline and Margaret and two brothers, Richard and Wesley. She is survived by her sister, Ann Ovitt, County Hill Rd., St. Johnsbury, VT 05819 and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She also leaves many good neighbors and friends. , 95, of Lyndonville, VT, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 9, 2016, at her home, surrounded by her family and friends. The family is grateful to Hospice for making it possible for Mickey to remain in her home. Mickey was born on February 8, 1921, in Lansdowne, PA, to James Alexander Fraser of Dundee, Scotland and Mary Elizabeth (Heath) Fraser of English descent. She graduated from Lansdowne High School in 1939. Her marriage of 46 years to John L. Smith, of Norristown, PA, began in Monticello, MN, where he was being trained as a glider pilot in the Army Air Corps. Their double wedding with his commanding officer was attended by many other pilots in training. Mickey and John returned to Pennsylvania where they raised their children in Upper Darby, PA. Mickey worked as a proofreader for Curtis Publishing, a sales clerk in a garden mart for Sears and for many years as a bank teller for Western Savings – all in PA. In 1997 she moved to Vermont and became the first tenant in the newly renovated Matthewson Block in Lyndonville. Mickey is survived by her two children and their families: Margaret (Peg) Hilliard of Lyndon, VT and her children, Kimberly Pearsons and her husband Timothy (Sam) ofLoveland, CO, their children Cheryl and her husband James Phillips, Christopher and Caitlin ;Brian Hilliard and his wife Meredith of Medford, MA, their son Miles; Kathryn Hebert and her husbandTyler, of Lyndonville, VT, their children Elizabeth and Armand. Elizabeth (Betsy) Moore and her husband, Robert (Bob) of Oak Creek, WI, their children, John Moore and his wife, Sarah, of Ennis, MT, their daughter MacKenzie; Cheryl Christensen and her husband, Ben, of Verona, WI, their daughter Anna. She is further survived by her caring and loving friend, Ronald Guy of Lyndonville, VT, who enjoyed sharing her love of family, and joy in traveling and attending community events. Other survivors include her late husband’s siblings and their families who were also a very special part of her life. Mickey was predeceased by her husband, John L. Smith in 1988, her three sisters, Eleanor, Evelyn and Dorothy and her son-in-law Paul E. Hilliard. Her volunteer activities evolved naturally from her kind, compassionate and caring ways. She volunteered at Delaware County Hospital in PA and NVRH in St. Johnsbury, VT. She delivered smiles, humor, and Meals on Wheels to program participants, and after her volunteer work with guide dogs, always carried dog biscuits wherever she went – and made friends with many canines. Mickey gave time and energy to various square dancing clubs, the Lions Club, and her church, Lyndonville UMC. Always on the go, she was an avid square dancer, loved camping and bowling, traveled both in the US and abroad, and was present at many local art, music and theater productions. She loved family gatherings, campfires and playing board and card games – remaining active into her 95th year. Certainly her delightful spirit, humorous and often mischievous ways will live on through the many lives she touched. , 96 years young of Lyndon VT, passed away peacefully on June 25, after a short stay at the Northeast Vermont Regional Hospital. For the past 18-months she had been a resident of the Pines Rehabilitation and Health Center in Lyndon. She was born May 16, 1920 in Passumpsic VT, one of nine children to Alfred and Ella (Davis) Peake. On June 27, 1943 she married James Francis Watson of Richford VT. They settled in the Town of Lyndon where she remained the rest of her life. Together they reared 6children on a small farm on the South Wheelock Road in Lyndon, which they bought in 1947. She has 9-grandchildren; 2-step grandchildren; 6-great grandchildren and 6-step great grandchildren. Lilla graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy in June of 1938. After graduation she went to work as a Bookkeeper for the Ralston Purina Company in St. Johnsbury. Later in life she worked for the Lyndon Electric Power Company, and worked many years for the Town of Lyndon, as a Clerk/Bookkeeper, and as an Assistant Town Clerk. She was an active member of the Lyndonville United Methodist Church, and could be found at many of their fundraisers, or at their many dinners; volunteering her time. She was also a long time member of Enterprise Grange #16 in Lyndon, and was very active with the Grange at the local and state levels.Both she and Jim were an integral part of Enterprise Grange #16, and could be found at the many Grange dinners, served there, and were present at the Saturday night dances. They loved to dance. Lilla was predeceased by her husband Jim in 1984; daughter Brenda Joyce Watson; son Stephen James Watson; and siblings Emerson (Al) Peake, Warren Peake, Theodore Peake, Maurice Peake, and Marjorie (Peake) Converse. She is survived by her children: Daughter Janice Elaine (Watson) Carter, her husband Jay Carter, their daughter Michele, her children Kiara, Camille, and Nya, and their son Nic Carter; Son Bryant Maurice Watson, his wife Maelene, daughter Trisha, and her daughter Lainey, daughter Tiffany, her husband Kwesi Rogers, and their children, Khari, Kaleb, and Kirkland; son Todd Jerome Houston, his wife Emily, and their children Tristin, Elliot and Owen; Daughter Susan Jean Watson, her significant other Jim Ouimette, daughters Alison, Ainsley, Jenn, and sons Michael and Bryan; Daughter Vicki Lynn Watson, her significant other David Miller, and daughter Miranda; Daughter-in-law Janet (Rousse) Watson(wife of Stephen Watson deceased), and their sons, Mark, Matthew, and Andrew, his wife Kara, and their children Ian and Ryan. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and beloved friends. There will be no calling hours. A Memorial Service will be held at the Lyndonville United Methodist Church, Saturday, September 17, 2016, at 10:30 AM, 70 Church Street Lyndonville, VT, with the Reverends James Porter, and Barbra Dwyer, officiating. 1925-2016 Kathryn "Kay" Weed, 91, of West Burke, passed away unexpectedly on September 5, 2016 while residing at The Pines. She suffered a debilitating stroke in February and most recently a respiratory virus. She was born in West Burke, VT on June 11, 1925 to Harold Gray and Hattie Bissell Gray. She graduated from Lyndon Institute with the Class of 1943 and continued her education at Middlebury College graduating as an English major in 1947. As an avid lifelong learner and dedicated elementary school teacher she later pursued classes at Lyndon State College in education but never formalized a Master’s degree as she knew small rural towns would have difficulty funding the required pay increase. She married Ervin "Joe" Weed August 21, 1947 and moved to Sutton and into the life of dairy farming. She taught in Newark, in a one room school house, where her Aunt Flora Ball had taught many years before her, until she and Joe started their family. Kay wore many hats during a full and busy life. She handled the accounting and homemaking side of the farm. She was a 4-H leader, a Defensive Driving instructor, a member of the Extension Service Home Demonstration group and the West Burke Methodist Church WSCS. She returned to teaching after her children were well into their schools years, first as an in home tutor and then full time teaching grades 1-4 at Newark Street School. She was a proponent of the Reading is Fundamental "RIF" program, acquiring many books for the school by gathering soup labels. After her retirement, when Newark built a new school in 1980, they established the Kathryn Weed Library. Kay and Joe enjoyed traveling with their camper to fairs. They were members of the Yankee Waters Camping Club for a time and Kay particularly liked taking bus trips with friends. She remained an active volunteer as a member of the Advisory Council of the Area Agency on Aging. She was on the Board of Directors for the West Burke Senior Meal Site and the West Burke Library. She served with pleasure for many, many years as the volunteer librarian at the West Burke Library. More recently she enjoyed daily completion of the puzzles in the newspaper, working on her reading goal of 100 books each year, tracking the ever changing political landscape and regular attendance at the West Burke Meal Site. Kay is survived by her son E. Stanley Weed, Jr. and wife Rhoda of Sutton, VT ; daughter Marcia Weed and husband Bob Litchfield of West Burke, VT; son-in-law David "Whitey" Ladieu of Swanton, VT. Also her granddaughters Jackie Zaun of East Burke, VT and Katie Ladieu of St. Albans VT; grandsons E. Stanley Weed III of Manchester, NH and David Ladieu, Jr. of Charlotte, NC; greatgranddaughter Natalie Crockett of East Burke, VT and her sister Pauline Creekmore of Annandale, VA. She was predeceased by her husband Ervin Weed in 2011 and her daughter Dianne Ladieu in 2000. Graveside services will be held Sat. Sept. 24th at 11 AM at Sutton North Ridge Cemetery. , age 67, passed peacefully surrounded by his wife and 4 children on January 19 in his log cabin that he so proudly built 34 years ago. Albert was born on June 24, 1948 to Lionel and Eleanor Remick Daigneault. He attended schools in St. Johnsbury and later married Johnna Rosselot in 1970. Albert was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed motorcycles and snowmobiling. His greatest love was his family. Albert served in the US Navy and was a proud member of the first crew that commissioned the USS John F. Kennedy Aircraft Carrier. He also served and retired from the Vermont Army National Guard. Multiple sclerosis became a part of his life but he was determined to not let it rule him. He continued to be productive right up until his passing. Besides his parents and his wife Johnna, he is survived by his sons Justin and wife Barb, Jared and wife Janet, Josh and Nicole, and daughter Emily Rivard, as well as grandchildren Jailyn, Lillianna, Ashlyn, Valerie, Jaxson, Logan, Colton and Rosaleigh; his brother Normand and four sisters, Suzanne Wallstrum, Theresa Fried, Denise Russell and Annette Ruffner as well as many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held later at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, date and time to be determined. , 98, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2016 at The Pines in Lyndonville, VT following a period of declining health. Born on March 2, 1918 in Fall River, MA, he was the son of Thomas and Lydia (Thibodeau) O'NeilNeil. On June 19, 1939, he married Helen Eisman who died August 25, 1990. He was employed as a machinist for many years in the Hartford, CT area prior to retiring to Vermont and was an avid Red Sox fan. Besides his wife, two brothers Earle and Irenee O'NeilNeil both pre-deceased him. He leaves his daughter Jan Sawyer and husband Richard of Newark, VT; five grandchildren Steven, Tom, Joe, Teddy, and Shannon; 9 great-grandchildren, and 3 1/2 great-great grandchildren.
