Leona Rollins Alger
....show , 95, of Orleans died on October 29, 2015.
She was born to Howard and Ethel Rollins on December 21, 1919, in Fitch Bay, Quebec, Canada.
She was part of a large family, which included several brothers and sisters: Norman (deceased), Murray (deceased), Olive, Allen (deceased), Maynard, and Glenna.
She married Carl Alger, also of Fitch Bay, and they operated dairy farms in both Canada and in Coventry.
They immigrated to the United States in 1947. Upon Mr. Alger's death in 1958, Ms. Alger ran the farm in Coventry alone, but she finally sold it in the spring of 1960, and took a job at Orleans Manufacturing, where she worked in the payroll division for thirty years, retiring from that position in 1990. She was missed upon her retirement, not only for her good work, but also for her doughnuts, appreciated by her whole family and many others in the surrounding area.
In 1966, she met Bruno LaBounty Jr., and they formed a companionship that lasted for over fifty years. She and "Sonny," as Mr. LaBounty Jr. was called, enjoyed their life together both in Orleans, and in Bushnell, Florida for many years.
They spent many hours playing cards and doing for others. They attended their grandchildren's many athletic contests and they often said that their greatest loves in their lives were for their grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who they took with them at every opportunity.
Ms. Alger is survived by her husband, Bruno LaBounty; her daughter Beverley Alexander and her husband, James, of Berkshire; her son, David Alger and his wife, Nancy, of Lexington, Kentucky; her daughter Cheryl and her husband, Richard, of Wolcott; and her grandchildren: Shelly Kelley, and Carl Alger, both of Lexington, Jo Ann Laggis of Fairfield, James Edward Teddy Alexander of Williamstown, Massachusetts, Jennifer Clapp of Wolcott, and Jeremy Holton, who predeceased her. Ms. Alger was not only "Grammie" to her grandchildren, but also to her great-grandchildren, who she loved dearly: Ms. Laggis daughters: Alexandra and Kelley; Mr. Alexander's son Jimmy, Ms. Kelley's daughter Courtney, and son Isaiah, Carl Alger's daughter Amanda, Ms. Clapp's son Benjamin, and Mr. Holton's daughter Ayauna.

Glenn Edward Guyette
....show , 74, of Lisbon, New Hampshire, a philanthropist and a veteran, died on Friday, October 23, 2015, at Littleton Regional Hospital in Littleton, New Hampshire, with his loving wife by his side, after a long battle with cancer.
He was born on June 17, 1941, in Irasburg. He attended Irasburg school, Orleans High School, Norwich University, and Keene State College.
In 1963 he married Janice Cummings, and together they had two children: Douglas and Faith. Mr. Guyette, staff sergeant E7, was in the service of his country for 24 years with the Army National Guard in Lebanon, New Hampshire.
He worked as a teacher at Lisbon Regional School for 27 years, donating his time and skill to his community. He served as a member of the Lions Club, and the teacher's association. He was a technology student association advisor, a student council advisor, and was awarded best coach by his team. A unique soul, Mr. Guyette was dedicated to problem solving to make the best decision. He enjoyed construction, creation, and collecting.
He is survived by his wife; his brother Gleason and his wife, Charlotte; two sisters: Louise Gunther and her husband, Richard, and Laura Fontaine and her husband, Ferdinand; his two children; and his four grandchildren: Victoria, Andrew, Angelina, and Nathan.
A memorial service was held at the Saint Rosa Lima Church in Littleton on Monday, November 2.
Memorial donations may be made in Mr. Guyette's name to the Saint Catherine's Church or Saint Rosa Lima, Lisbon Lions Club, the Lisbon Regional Student Scholarship, or the Food Bank at the National Guard Amory in Woodsville, New Hampshire.
Delle (Blanchard) Reilly
....show , 93, died peacefully on October 31, 2015, at Maple Lane Nursing Home in Barton.
She was born in Newport on May 11, 1922, and was the daughter of Clarence and Annie (Hanson) Blanchard.
Ms. Reilly graduated from Newport High School, then moved to Hartford, Connecticut. In 1946, she married Arthur Frank Reilly, who predeceased her in 2001. They had two children, David and Jane.
Ms. Reilly had a very successful 30-year career with the Aetna Life Insurance Company in Human Resources. Later, her work evolved to the creation and teaching of language strengthening courses for administrative personnel.
She never lost her love of Vermont and after her retirement and her husband's major stroke, they returned to their cottage on Lake Memphremagog. Eventually, they joined Ms. Reilly's sister Claire in the family home on the Bluff Road. Her faithful, 19-year devotion to her husband's care was very much admired by her family and friends.
Ms. Reilly's natural green thumb expressed itself in her love of gardening and landscaping as was evident around her home on the Bluff Road. After her husband's death, she was able to be active in her church, which she very much enjoyed.
She was a great lover of animals and it was an important part of who she was. She volunteered for many years at the Pope Memorial Frontier Animal Shelter at their spay/neuter clinics.
She was very much loved by all her many sisters and her brother: Marjorie Marois, Muriel Hudson, Gwendolyn Benaroya, Jan Allison, Claire Blanchard, and Alden Blanchard, their spouses, and many nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her children: her daughter Jane Housewright and her husband, Willis, of West Hartford, Connecticut; her son David Reilly of Catoosa, Oklahoma; her daughter-in-law Darlene Reilly-Lengyel of Monroe, Connecticut; her sister Jan (Alta) Allison of Manchester, Connecticut; and her brother Alden Blanchard and his wife, Marilyn, of Newport. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Kathryn Housewright of Burlington, Meghan Housewright of Washington, D.C., and Christopher Reilly of Monroe, Connecticut.
As per her wishes, there will be no wake or funeral service. Burial will be private. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to make a contribution in her memory may do so by contributing to either The Newport Baptist Church, 834 East Main Street, Newport, Vermont 05855, or the Pope Memorial Frontier Animal Shelter, 502 Strawberry Acres, Newport, Vermont 05855.
