Gerald "Jay Lee" Berg
....show , age 64, of Dunn Mountain Road, passed away at his home Monday night, November 23, 2015, from a heart attack.
Jay Lee, a Native American of the Sioux Nation, was born in Fargo, North Dakota, on March 15, 1951, son to the late Aldon Ivan and Frances Mae (Hempel) Berg. . He grew up in North Dakota and Minnesota and enlisted into the U.S. Army serving in Vietnam. He lived in Florida for many years working as a Marine Technician and continued after moving to the area working for Newport Marine Services. Jay Lee loved sailing, nature and followed his Native American culture. He was a very giving person who will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra K. (Gaskins) Berg, sharing 29 years together; his son, Ryan Berg, of Columbia Falls, MT; his step-daughters: Jennifer Fox and her husband, Bill, of Cromwell, KY, Rebecca Bowden and her husband, Bobby, of Lakeland, FL, his step-son: Ronnie Hutto of Mulberry, FL, 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
There will be no services or calling hours at his request. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family.
Paul J. 'P.J.' Belliveau
....show , 22, of North Concord, died as the result of an automobile accident on Wed., July 8, 2015 on Interstate 91 south bound in Sheffield.
He was born in Manchester, Connecticut on Feb. 14, 1993, the son of Michelle Leighton and Paul Michael Belliveau. He worked for Wally Limlaw Construction in Derby, a barn construction firm, and was returning home from Holland when the accident occurred.
He is survived by his mother, Michelle Leighton and Dwayne McCutcheon, of St. Johnsbury; father Paul Michael Belliveau of North Concord; daughter Torri Lynn Belliveau of North Concord, daughter Jasmyn Rose Hale of North Concord; his fiancAC.e Amber Labrecque of North Concord; brother Adam Belliveau of St. Johnsbury; brother Michael Leighton of St. Johnsbury; paternal grandmother Gertrude R. Belliveau of Springfield, Mass.; and his extended family. He was predeceased by; paternal grandfather Paul J. Belliveau 2013; maternal Grandfather Wayne S. Leighton 2001; maternal grandmother Greta TJ. Leighton 2014.
A gathering of friends and family will be held at the Sayles Funeral Home on Friday, July 24 from 6-8 p.m.

Jeff Belknap
....show of Concord passed away Saturday evening, Dec. 19, 2015 at the age of 56. He died peacefully at home.
Born in St. Johnsbury on May 20, 1959, Jeff loved all sports and coached The Pirates Babe Ruth baseball team.
Jeff and Debra operated J.D.'s Restaurant on Portland St., formerly known as the Surf and Sirloin Restaurant and Wooden Horse. Known affectionately as 'Merl', he and Debra also operated the Deli at Pettyco Junction. He especially loved to go hunting with his brother Eric and his kids T.J. and Morgan.
He is survived by his wife Debra (Wilson) Belknap (PO Box 212 Concord 05824); his parents Paul and Bernie (Harbaugh) Belknap of Waterford, his brother Eric Belknap and wife Felicia of Waterford; aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, and Debbie's extended family.
A gathering of friends and family will be held at the Sayles Funeral Home this Saturday, Dec. 26, from 2-4 p.m.

Albert Bedor
....show of Wheelock passed away peacefully at home on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, 2015, at the age of 84.
He was born in St. Johnsbury, Vermont, on Oct. 12, 1931, the son of the late Joseph and Evelina (Crepeault) Bedor.
On May 4, 1950, Albert married Alberta Drown. In their 50 years of marriage, they had nine children together. Albert worked for the Town of St. Johnsbury for 11 years and at True Temper for 10 years. He was a farmer, logger, and mowed lawns for people all over. Albert was also a butcher for many years, going to people's houses. Albert was a hard worker and made sure his family was well taken care of. Albert was a story teller; the grandchildren loved to hear his stories! He will be sadly missed.
Survivors include his friend Yvette; six kids: Nancy LaCoss and husband Brian, Sue Choquette and friend Mike, Cathy MacPherson, David Bedor and wife Stefney, Janet Simpson, and Patty Hunter and husband Cary; 21 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and their families.
He was also predeceased by three sons: Steve, Russell, and an infant son Paul; granddaughter Heather; three brothers and three sisters.
Visiting hours will be held at the Guibord Funeral Home in Lyndonville this Tuesday evening, Dec. 29, from 6-8 p.m.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Johnsbury this Wednesday, Dec. 30, at 10 a.m. at the St. John the Evangelist Church.
Douglas J. Beane
....show , 89, passed away on September 18th at the University of Vermont Medical Center, after an extended illness. He was born in East Burke, Vermont, on March 4, 1926, son of the late Kenneth B. and Gladys (McNally) Beane and divided his time between his home in Lyndonville, a seasonal lakeside home in Vermont and his winter home in Florida. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Mary Jane and Gary Russell of Charlotte, his sister Shirley Pierce of Lyndonville, his sister in-law Marjorie LaCroix of Torrance, CA and his sister-in-law Betty Derosier and her husband Richard, of St. Johnsbury, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Marguerite, his brother-in-law Linwood Pierce, his sister- and brother-in-law Lucille and Malcolm Jenkins, his brother-in-law Richard LaCroix, as well as several cousins.
Doug served during World War II aboard the USS Missouri (BB-63), and was present for the signing of the Japanese surrender in Tokyo Bay on September 2, 1945. He later owned Reed Supply Company in St. Johnsbury with his partner Eugene McDonough. Doug and his friend Stanley Peck made maple syrup together for many years in the NEK. He also enjoyed playing golf, dining out, and trips with his family - especially his car trips to and from Florida with his son-in-law Gary.
The family would like to especially thank the many doctors, nurses, and other providers -- both here and in Florida -- who cared for Doug so compassionately, as well as the many friends, relatives, and neighbors who enabled him to live independently; too many to name individually, but may each of you know that you truly were his personal favorite!
A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held at 11AM on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at the Woodmont Cemetery, RT 114 in East Burke, VT. There will be no calling hours.

Herbert E. Barrett
....show , 94, passed peacefully into the light of his Lord on March 25, 2015, at the home he shared with his daughter and son-in-law in Lyndon, VT.
Herb was born July 21, 1920, in St. Johnsbury, VT, the son of Clarence and Josephine (Ferris) Barrett. He joined the US Army Air Force serving his country during World War II for three years in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
He married Martha L. Morrison of Waterford, VT, on June 25, 1946. They raised their family in St. Johnsbury where they were active members of North Congregational Church. Herb served on many church committees, was a Deacon, and sang in the choir for many years. They were also very active with the Community School in St. Johnsbury, raising monies for mentally disabled students. Herb served as the treasurer there for several years. Their efforts expanded to the Brandon Training School in Brandon, VT, where they collected items and donations to support the school. He also volunteered at the Fairbanks Museum.
Herb was a hard worker during his 44-year career with Fairbanks Scale in St. Johnsbury. He started as a mail clerk, took night classes at the St. Johnsbury Trade School and became a machinist, and worked his way up the ladder, becoming the Foreman of the welding and sheet metal department. He received several awards from Fairbanks Scale including the Cost Reduction Award in 1979. He retired in 1984.
For nearly 60 years, Herb was a loyal member of the ODD Fellows Caledonia Lodge #6 IOOF. He served in every officer position. He was a dedicated blood donor who donated over 13 gallons of blood to help others.
Herb loved his trips to the coast of Maine, walking the Marginal Way, playing his harmonica, and singing in an acappella group at nursing homes and senior meal sites. Upon moving to Lyndon in 2006, Herb treasured his daily trips to the Bagel Depot for his blueberry muffin and coffee, and greatly enjoyed the royal treatment he received from the wonderful staff and regular patrons. In recent years, he took pleasure in daily outings with his caregivers, watching wildlife and his daughter's horses.
Survivors include his five children, David of Lyndon, Peter of Littleton, NH, Thomas and his wife Patricia of St. Johnsbury, Carol Marut of Plantsville, CT, and Lisa and her husband Joe Newell of Lyndon; 10 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; two brothers, Kenneth and his wife Helen of Sutton, and Clinton of Pennsylvania; a sister, Mabel of St. Johnsbury; his sister-in-law, Dortohy Coombs of St. Johnsbury Center; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Herb is also survived by his wonderful caregivers, Connie, Doris, Jane, Kiki, Heather, Anita and Pat who allowed him to remain at home and maintain his independence to the end.
He was predeceased by his parents; his first wife Martha in 1984, his second wife Rita Metevier MacPherson in 1996; nine sisters, Margaret Smith, Marion Stone, Louise Lundstrom, Elizabeth Barrett, Patricia Barrett, Audrey Blaine, Ruth Friend, Betty Minshull and Katherine Hill; and two brothers, William Barrett and Clarence Barrett Jr; and his brother-in-law, Carlyle Morrison.
Funeral services will be held at Guibord Funeral Home in Lyndonville on Monday, March 30, 2015 at 2:00pm with the Rev. Jay Sprout officiating. Herb will be laid to rest beside his wife, Martha, in Riverside Cemetery in Waterford, VT, on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 2:00pm. There will be an informal gathering in his memory at Bagel Depot on Tuesday morning, March 31st, at 9:00 a.m.

Hazel B. (Gray) Baranowski
....show , 74, of Lyndonville, VT, and formerly of South Hadley, MA, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning April 29, 2015, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born June 16, 1940, in Florence, MA, the daughter of Ashley Gray Sr. and Bernadette (Costello) Gray. She graduated from Northampton High School in 1958. She married her high school sweetheart, Stanley A. Baranowski, Jr. on June 10, 1960. They lived in Queens, NY. Later they moved to S. Hadley, MA where they raised their family. In 1982 they moved to Lyndonville, VT.
Hazel's pride and joy were her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her grandchildren have found memories of her spontaneous picnic hikes around her property and brook. All those who knew her will always remember her beautiful smile. She was a Girl Scout Leader for 11 years and was proud to have bridged the same 18 young ladies from Brownies to Cadets. After high school graduation, Hazel worked at Household Finance and later Peg & Ray's Card shop in Holyoke, MA. After moving to Vermont, she worked at her brother's, Ashley Gray Jr's, restaurant (The Miss Lyndonville Diner) and for the last 22 years, the Colonnade Motor Inn/Days Inn in Lyndonville as the front desk clerk.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 55 years, Stanley Baranowski Jr of Lyndonville; their son, Stanley Baranowski III of Barre, VT; their daughter, Diane Montminy and her husband Kevin of St. Johnsbury, VT; a sister, Gertrude Barnes of Hardwick, VT; a brother-in-law, Robert Baranowski Sr. and his wife Carolyn of Springfield, MA; four sisters-in-law, Jeanne Baranowski of Southampton, MA, Caroline Guillimette and her husband Mark of Greenfield, MA, June Tacus and her husband Scott of Glastonbury, CT and Janet (Gray) Burnor of Eden, VT. Hazel was blessed to have five grandchildren and five great grandchildren: Kevin Montminy II and wife Annie and son Kevin III; Kristin Croteau and husband Christopher and daughter Hannah and son Owen, Kaitlin Coburn and husband David and sons Lukas and Logan; Brittany Baranowski and fiancAC. Phil Hall and Danielle Baranowski; and her extended family of many nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends; and her feline companion, Mustard.
She is predeceased by her parents; her brother, Ashley Gray Jr; two brothers-in-law, Ralph Barnes and Charles Baranowski; and a nephew, Wayne Gray.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Lyndonville on Saturday May 2, at 11:00am at the St. Elizabeth's Church with the Rev. Christopher Micale celebrant. Burial will follow in Lyndon Center Cemetery.

....show , age 84, passed away at the Country Village Center in Lancaster, NH, Tuesday morning, November 3, 2015, where she had been a resident since February.
Molly was born in Lancaster, NH, on July 15, 1931, daughter to the late Chester and Imogene (Reed) Towle. She was raised and educated there and married Donald A. Ball in 1949. They shared 66 years together and raised 6 children. She worked as a Nurse's Aide at Judkins Nursing Home in Goffstown, NH and owned and operated the Little CafAC., also in Goffstown, for several years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and delighted in her many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Donald A., Sr. of Gilman, VT, her children: Linda Matheson and husband, Howard, of Gilman, VT; Donna Simmons and husband, Donnie, of Junction, TX; Sandy Neuman of St. Johnsbury, VT; Pam Johnson and husband, Walt, of Goffstown, NH; Chester Ball and wife, Paula, of Lunenberg, VT; Donald A. Ball, II and wife, Cathy, of Goffstown, NH; a brother: Emmett Towle of Whitefield, NH; a sister: Jane Savage of Lancaster, NH, 17 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Molly was predeceased by a brother: Asa Towle and 2 children: Gerald Reed and Barbara Jean Ball.

Robert 'Bob' Badurski
....show passed away, at his Waterford home, surrounded by his loved ones, on Thursday, Nov. 26, 2015, Thanksgiving Day, at the age of 76.
He was born in Washington, D.C. on Aug. 12, 1939, the son of Stephen and Mary Elizabeth (Bruce) Badurski.
Bob and Freda moved from College Park, Md., to Waterford, Vt., in 1981. Bob was an active member of the community where he served as a charter member of the Waterford Volunteer Fire Department for 21 Years, a Waterford Fire Warden for many years, a Waterford Santa Fund Deliveryman and also worked at the Waterford Transfer Station. Bob was the person anyone could count on when they were in need.
He is survived by his wife Freda (Vaughn) Badurski; four children: daughter Sindi Barcomb and husband Lee of Waterford, daughter Linda Hann and husband Jim of Leavenworth, Kansas, son Stephen Badurski and wife Karen of Sheffield, son Ricky Shifflett and wife Debbie of Littleton, N.H.; seven grandchildren: Shawn and Jessy Pelow of Waterford; Robert and Matthew Badurski of Sheffield; Kristina, Karen, and Kristopher Hann of Leavenworth, Kansas; five great-grandchildren.
The family will observe a celebration of his life at the Badurski home on 1535 Remick Rd. next Sunday, Dec. 6, 2015, from 2-4 p.m. Anyone wishing to stop by is welcome.

Eleanor was born in Barnet, VT, on January 28, 1929, daughter of the late Elmer Ross Moore and Edna Louise (White) Moore. She was raised and educated in St. Johnsbury, graduating from St. Johnsbury Academy in 1946. She married Fred Badger in 1969 and shared many years together. She worked as the secretary and bookkeeper at the Calderwood Funeral Home for many years. Eleanor loved to travel, read, and enjoyed bowling, snowmobiling, rug braiding and crocheting.
Eleanor is survived by her 3 children: Linda and Don Coburn of Largo, FL., Thomas and Dianne Warren of St. Johnsbury, VT., and Diana Moore of Danville, VT., 5 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Linda L. Cushing
....show of Waterford passed away at home on Sunday afternoon, March 8, 2015 surrounded by her family.
She was born at home on the farm in Waterford on Sept. 28, 1947, the daughter of Dean and Eula (Hall) Willson. Her husband George passed away in 2013.
The Cushings lived in Newbury village from 1965 til 1990 when they built their log cabin in Waterford on Hale Road. Linda was active in the Newbury community; she ran the business side of their Newbury Garage automotive business; she did cleaning at several area homes, worked part-time at the Newbury Post Office and at the hot lunch program at the school. At Christmas time she baked hundreds of dozens of cookies and banana breads and delivered them all around the community. Over the years she had a passion for collecting Coca Cola memorabilia. She loved looking for Coca Cola items and telling the stories behind each treasure she found or received as a gift.
She is survived by two daughters: Patti Valley of St. Johnsbury, Christine Tillotson of Waterford; four grandchildren: Christopher Valley of St. Johnsbury; Katie Tillotson of Monroe NH, Samantha Tillotson of Monroe NH,, and Kari Tillotson of Waterford; great-grandson Camden Tillotson of Monroe NH; sister Dorothy Dodge and husband Fred of Haverhill NH; sister-in-law Dorothy Willson of Waterford; brother-in-law Harry Cushing and his wife Sandy; brother-in-law James Cushing and his wife Rebecca; Sister-in-law Linda Whitehill and husband Bud; Sister-in-laws Doreen Delano, Katherine Cushing, Betty Mace, and Patricia Carle, nieces, nephews, her beloved dog Reba, and her Maple Grove family.
A celebration of Linda's life will be observed on Saturday March 14th at the Waterford School from 11 am-2 pm.

Janice Evelyn (Fuller) Currier
....show passed away in the early morning of October 7, 2015 at the age of 94.
Janice was born in St. Johnsbury, Vermont, on March 18, 1921, and was the youngest of five children born to Clyde Ellsworth Fuller and Bernice (Holder) Fuller. She had many cherished memories growing up with her beloved mother, father, sisters and brother in their home on Spring Street.
After graduating from St. Johnsbury Academy with the class of 1939, Janice attended Lasell College in Boston. She left Boston to work at Goodyear in Windsor, Vermont, and then returned to St. Johnsbury to work for many years at Northern Cadillac on Eastern Avenue. It was there that she met her future husband of 54 years, David. Janice often told the story of dismissing David's advances by telling him she would not go out with him until he owned a Cadillac. The rest was their history as it was just the beginning of their life together, the city girl and the country boy. Together they had four children, Megan, John, Joel and Mary and raised them with much love, laughter and joy on their century old farm in Danville.
During her life, Janice became a master quilter, meeting with her quilting girls every Wednesday for years. She volunteered for the American Society of Dowsers, Hospice, and was a member of The Order of The Eastern Star and the Danville Congregational Church.
Janice was predeceased by her brother Henry Fuller; sisters Eleanor (Fuller) Peters; Margaret (Fuller) Nicoll; Elizabeth (Fuller) Remick; and husband David Currier.
She is survived by her daughter Megan Haygood and husband John of Danville; son John Currier and wife Barbara of Norwich, Vermont; son Joel Currier and Linda Hunkins of Barnet; daughter Mary Currier and Martha Kingsley of Danville; her former daughter-in-law Liliana Cubero, with whom she remained close; four grandchildren: Zachary Currier of Arlington, VA; Katherine Currier of New York, NY; Marissa Currier-Cubero of Danville; and Joaquin Currier-Cubero of Danville; and many nieces and nephews and their families.
A service will be held in Danville on Monday, Oct. 12, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Danville Congregational Church, 87 Hill Street.

George Franklin Cremer
....show , beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and friend, died May 27, 2015, at the Northeast Vermont Rehabilitation Hospital, in St. Johnsbury, Vt.
The son of J Edgar and Margaret Entrekin Cremer, George was born June 17, 1920, in Huntingdon, Pa. George had a brother, William E., who preceded him in death.
Virginia (Ginny) Mae Goodman became his bride on Jan. 17, 1943. She lives in St. Johnsbury. They were blessed with their daughter Mary Lee, who died in 2013.
George was a graduate of Pennsylvania State University, College of Engineering in 1942. He retired from the United States Government Department of the Navy as an electrical engineer.
George was an award winning photographer; he attended many antique automobile shows, and was an ardent enthusiast of railroads. George and Ginny enjoyed playing the game of bridge. George frequented the library and was an amazing storyteller. His sense of humor and warmth were shown when he told stories about Ginny. He was faithful to South Congregational Church where he served as a deacon.
In addition to his wife, George is survived by his son-in-law John E. Davis of St. Johnsbury; sister-in-law Jean Goodman; two nieces, Betty C Nye and Dorothy Hoover and husband Glenn of Huntingdon; two nephews Bobby and wife Kathryn Goodman and Boyd and wife Diane Goodman of Alexandria, Pa.; as well as six great-nieces and nephews and six great-great nieces and nephews. His many friends always enjoyed his company.
Services will be held Tuesday, June 9, at 3 p.m. at the South Congregational Church with Rev. Douglas Moore officiating.
Edwina Mae Corliss
....show , 76, of Main Street, passed away at her home, Sunday morning October 25, 2015,
Edwina was born on April 14, 1939, in Topsham, VT, daughter to the late John E. and Beatrice Mae (Currier) Jenkins. She grew up in Lyndon and graduated from Lyndon Institute with the Class of 1957. She married Myron A. Corliss in 1958 and have shared 57 years together, living in Sheffield for the past 50 in their home. She worked for the US Postal Service in Sheffield for 30 years and was Postmaster for the last 13 years when she retired. Edwina loved flowers and in her spare time she tended her flower gardens religiously. She loved to go berry picking and didn't mind driving her car through a thicket to do so. She was involved in 4-H for many years, she was a foster parent and dearly loved her grand and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Myron, of Sheffield, her son: Clifford and his wife, Rachel, of Lyndon Center, their children: Chelsey Corliss and Cameron Corliss and Clifford's son, Eric Corliss and wife Destiny. Edwina's daughter: Colleen Bowen and her husband, Ted, of Newark and her children: Lindsay Miller and husband, Donald, Devin Carten and husband, Matthew, Nicholas Thompson and 8 great-grandchildren, She is also survived by her foster son: Timothy DeGreenia and his wife, Janet, of Windsor Locks, CT their sons: Timothy and Tyler DeGreenia.

Beverly (Simpson) Coolbeth
....show , of Lyndonville, passed away Sunday morning, Oct. 4, 2015, at the age of 91.
Bev was born in Lyndon, Vermont, on Nov, 25, 1923, one of three daughters born to Howard and Ina (Basnar) Simpson. After graduating from Lyndon Institute in 1941, she and Ernie Coolbeth were united in marriage on May 2, 1942; they were married for 73 years! Their daughter Cheryl Coolbeth Olson passed away three years ago.
Bev worked at The Pines as a nurse's aide for 17 years. At one time Bev and Ernie participated in the daily operation at The Darling Inn. Over the course of many years, Bev took great pride in answering the phone at the Guibord Funeral Home. The Coolbeths recently sold their home on Route 122 and were residing at Lyndon Terraces.
In her younger years Bev enjoyed going to dances, going to the fair to watch the harness racing, and going to the car races. Her grandchildren have fond memories of camping with her. Bev maintained a keen interest, even in recent weeks during her illness, on what was going on in her family's lives.
She is survived by her husband Ernie; daughter Judith Taylor and husband Steve of Lyndonville; four local grandchildren all living in Lyndonville: Donna Laferriere and husband Lionel, Stephanie Mitchell and husband Chuck, Amy McCaffrey, Chris Taylor and wife Holly; two other grandchildren, twins Karl and Jill Olson; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters and their families: Betty Simpson Blake of Lyndonville, Janet Simpson D'Orazio of West Springfield, Massachusetts.
A visiting hour will be held at the Guibord Funeral Home Tuesday evening beginning at 6 p.m. and concluding a little after 7 p.m.
Services will be held at the First Congregational Church in Lyndonville Wednesday morning at 11 a.m. with friend and pastor the Rev. Judi Horgan officiating.
