Born in 1925, Lucy was the daughter of Egbert and Elsie Healy and sister to Arnold and Henry. She was loving partner to Errol (1924-2004) for 57 years and proud mother of William (Joanne), Helen (Bernard), Ray (1953-69), Roy (Marjorie), John (Lidwina), Richard (Jennifer) and Martha (John). Grandma Lucy was loved and admired by grandchildren ( and their partners) Leah, Camille, Karen, Brendan, Eric, Kevin, Leanne, Jeffrey, Stephanie, Pamela, Michael, Mark, Ian, Seth and Evan and great-grandchildren Tyler, Madison, Catherine, Henry, Nathan, Seth, and Carter. Lucy was the centre of her family, modelling love, strength and goodwill to all. She enjoyed interaction with her students and colleagues for many years and held many volunteer roles within the church and community. Recently, Lucy enjoyed reminiscing about the old days with friends at Foyer Wales Home, where she received outstanding care. Lavallee, Ruth
....show - On Friday, March 28th, Ruth Constance Burroughs Lavallee passed away peacefully at St. Pat’s Home in Ottawa. She was born on April 10th, 1921 in Sherbrooke, Quebec. After graduating as a nurse from Sherbrooke Hospital in 1941, Ruth married Earl J. Lavallee in 1945 and had one daughter, Elizabeth, born of this union. Her nursing career covered a variety of positions including private duty, floor supervisor of nursing, obstetrics, the recovery room and working in a doctor’s office. Over the years, she was very active in the Sherbrooke Hospital alumnae and served as president for two terms. These leadership and organizing qualities continued to be put to good use. Ruth was a staunch, active and valued member of Plymouth-Trinity United Church serving as a member of the session for twenty years, member of the choir for over forty years, and president of the U.C.W. for three terms during her fifty years as a member. Both of her parents were from England, however, it was at Plymouth-Trinity Church where they first met. Entertaining was a great enjoyment and the more there were around the table, the better she liked it. Hopefully, the meal was to be followed by a lively game of cards. Ruth was steadfastly generous with her time and advice helping a large circle of friends, family and causes over the years. Manners were always important and proper grammar was a must. Ruth is survived by her daughter Elizabeth, son-in-law Joel Waldron and two grandsons Jonathan Richard (Sofya) and Jared Earl Waldron (Liisa) of whom she was very proud; also survived by nephews, cousins, as well as two special cousins and wonderful friends, Dorothy Lothrop and Norma Brown. She is predeceased by her parents Richard and Annie Moss Burroughs, husband Earl J. Lavallee, brother W. Richard Burroughs and wife Margaret (Peg) Drummond, sister Bet and brother-in-law Lloyd Cartwright. A Service of Celebration will be held at Plymouth-Trinity United Church, 380 Dufferin, Sherbrooke, Quebec on (date) at (time) and internment at Elmwood Cemetery. A reception will follow. ....show - It is with great sadness, we announce the death of David Henderson Moore on January 20th, 2014, in his 76th year. David was loved by his family and by the many friends he made over the years. He leaves behind his sons, Brian (Susie) and Jeff, and his longtime companion Rachel Huckleberry and her sons Ron (Anne), Jeff (Paula) and Greg, and was a proud grandfather to Trenten (11) and Callie (13), and was beloved brother to Pam (David) and Penny (Robert). Born on April 29, 1937, in Drummondville, Quebec, to parents, Meredith Henderson and Kathleen Margaret (Middleton) Moore, he spent his formative years in Shawinigan, Quebec. David later attended both Bishops University and the University of New Brunswick. After working for Lowney’s Chocolates and Dominion Textile, he branched off into his own business, D.H.M. Technology, where he combined his gift of personal interaction with his love of travel. He will be remembered for his unique sense of humour, and willingness to help others. He dabbled at influencing local and national political campaigns and politicians, and always had an opinion worth listening to. He never thought he spent enough time in his life at church or going fishing. ...his time has been granted at last.... She leaves to mourn her son Alan Kezar his wife Lauretta Thomas, her daughter Mavis Simons, her granddaughter Amadea Kezar. Also leaves to mourn her brother Edward Roberts, her sister Bobbie Seabourne, both of London, Ontario as well as other relatives and friends. She was well known for her sewing skills and spent many happy hours working on projects for her customers. For many years, in the summer, she also worked for the Roland Stebbins family; they were like a second family to her. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She raised her family in Labrador and enjoyed the later years with her husband in the Eastern Townships. Her passions included baking for her family especially at Christmas, gardening, her pet Schnauzers, tending to her birdfeeders and enjoying the wildlife around her home. Throughout her life her laughter was contagious to those around her. She had a special place in her heart for her niece, Helene Turcotte, who helped her in her final days. She is predeceased by her husband Harold James Grandchamp; father Armand Waite; mother Cecile (Joly)son –in-law Stephen Bachman; sister Lise Viens; brothers-in-law Jack Giroux,Guy O’Malley, and Louis, Fred and Philip Grandchamp; sisters-in-law Margot Waite, Rita (Grandchamp) Schlough and Irene (Grandchamp) Bentley. She was born in Sherbrooke Quebec October 1, 1931, the eldest of fourteen siblings. She grew-up in the one room school house town of Capleton, Quebec and later attended school at the convent in Stanstead Quebec. She married Harold on November 22, 1952 at Saint Joseph church in Sherbrooke Quebec. They resided in Montville and Norwich Connecticut for th first fifty years of their marriage. She had dreamed of becoming a journalist but after a variety of jobs, she settled into being a mother and homemaker. She was an avid reader and fan of classic movies and television shows. She had strong spiritual beliefs for God and prayer. In 2002 the couple moved to Stanstead, Quebec where many special friendships were formed which she treasured and gave her much happiness. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Resting at the Cass Funeral Home, 545 Dufferin, Stanstead, Quebec Canada on Thursday, May 8 , 2014, from 12:00 pm to 4:00 p.m. where friends and family may come to visit. A celebration of her life will take place in the funeral home.at 4:00 pm with Reverend Lise Kuzminska officiating. Donations in her memory may be made to the Research Hospital for Children, St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN U.S.A. 38105.The family of Gisele want to thank the friends and people of Stanstead for all the help and kindness given to her since the passing of Harold in 2012.
