, 89, of Stanton, Delaware, died on Sunday, February 12, 2012. Mr. St. Amand was co-owner of M&J Television Service in Marshallton, Delaware, for 38 years, retiring in 1987. Earlier in his career he worked for the National Radio Institute in Washington, D.C. Mr. St. Amand served in the Army with General Patton in Europe and the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of St. Matthew's R.C. Church. He enjoyed square dancing with Circle Four and X 10's. Mr. Amand also enjoyed traveling. Survivors include his children: Richard G. St. Amand of Elkton, Maryland, Doria B. Grimes of Annandale, Virginia, George O. St. Amand of Hockessin, Delaware, Emile R. St. Amand of Milltown, Delaware, and Luke H. St. Amand of Newark, Delaware; his brother John St. Amand of Inwood, New York; his sister Margaret LeBlanc of Newport; his grandchildren: Juliette, Louis, Nicole, Janet, Douglas, Bernie, Shawn, Erika and Heather; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Mr. St. Amand was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Laura L. (Lanoue) St. Amand, in 2003; by his grandson, Scott St. Amand; and by his sisters: Angela St. Amand of the Sisters of the Holy Cross, Rollande Messier and Theresa LeBlanc. , 45, died on Saturday, February 11, 2012, with her family by her side. She was born on March 8, 1966, in Newport, a daughter of Douglas Bowen and Sandra Rooney Bowen. Ms. Bowen was a graduate of Peoples Academy. She worked for many years as a housekeeper at various resorts in the Stowe area. She enjoyed going to lawn sales and recently took up kayaking. She was very particular about keeping her home clean. Most of all she was dedicated to her family. She is survived by her children: Scott A. Nelson and his fiancee, Tasha Lehouillier, of Hyde Park, and Hilary Braun of Morrisville; by her mother Sandra Bowen of Hyde Park; by her father and stepmother, Douglas Bowen and Ione Armstrong of Albany; by a sister, Penny Herman, and her husband, Michael, of Brownington; by her special grandmother, Josephine Bowen of Morrisville; and by several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. She was predeceased by a son, Corey Lee Nelson, in 1982. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 16, at 1 p.m. at the White-Fiess Funeral Home, 165 Brooklyn Street, in Morrisville. Marjorie Ella Noe Rossier Burdick

, 93, of Orleans died on Monday, February 6, 2012, in Glover. Born May 3, 1918, in North Derby (what is now East Main Street in Newport), she was the middle child of Henry and Lucinda (Kinney) Noe. She attended schools in Orleans and decided not to attend high school, so her mother had her take the eighth grade over again, a common educational practice of the time. Her first husband was Bernard L. Rossier Sr. He was hurt in a severe accident at the Anderson Manufacturing Company in Orleans, and was hospitalized for the rest of his life. She then married Willard "Gus" S. Burdick, who died February 12, 1984. Throughout her life, Mrs. Burdick enjoyed various clubs and activities in and around Orleans. She belonged to the Pythians, the Christmas Club, the bowling league (winning many trophies), and she was a member and past president of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #23 in Orleans, a job she held a few times. One of her most favorite activities was bingo. She enjoyed it and played the game all over Orleans County, as well as at the Union House in Glover. Baptized an Episcopalian, Mrs. Burdick belonged to St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Newport, as well as Orleans Federated Church. She is survived by her two sons: Everett "Nick" and his wife, Cora Ann, of Albany, and Lawrence and his wife, Gertrude, of Orleans; by her daughters-in-law: Eileen of Myerstown, Pennsylvania, Susan of Brownington Center, and Tracey of Derby; by her 17 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren, three sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, as well as by many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and both of her husbands, she was predeceased by two daughters: Christine and Patricia; three sons: Bernard, Edwin, and Terrence "Terry"; two grandchildren, her big sister Dorothy, and her little sister Stella. Funeral services were On February 11, in Orleans. , 88, of Newport Center died on February 6, 2012, in Newport. She was born on November 4, 1923, in Newport Center, a daughter of Henry and Margaret (Mason) Collins. On February 12, 1941, she married Clarence Hill who predeceased her in 2006. Mrs. Hill retired in 1985 after working as a cook at the Bel-Aire Nursing Home for 19 years. Her hobbies included making quilts, painting, doing jigsaw puzzles, going to yard sales and caring for her Great Dane dogs, in the past, which she truly loved. She was always there to lend a helping hand to family and friends. She is survived by her two sons: Gilbert Hill and his wife, Linda, of Lowell and Richard Hill and his wife, Claudette, of Newport Center; by her six grandchildren: Susan LeBlanc, Barbara Hill and her companion, Scott Gray, Lisa Pion and her husband, Frances, Mary Hill, Erin Oeschger and her husband, Scott, and Michael Hill; and by her 15 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Clarence Hill, and by three brothers and three sisters. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.

, 85, of Lyndonville died on Monday, February 6, 2012, at her home in Lyndonville. Born on June 10, 1926, in Sutton, she was the daughter of Clyde and Ruby Ethel (Davis) Jackman Bigelow. Ms. Jackman graduated from Lyndon Institute in 1944. She was a school teacher for many years in Barton and Stowe. She knitted hats for the newborns at Copley Hospital for many years as well. She was a longtime member at the Lyndonville United Methodist Church. She loved to make her own greeting cards, knit, scrapbook, go to the band concerts, read, play Yahtzee, put together puzzles and volunteer at her church. She also loved the trips that she made during the holidays to see her "adopted family." She leaves her "adopted family:" Mary and Michael Murray of Jericho, Brittany and Daniel Forthun and their son, Alex, of Essex, Eric Murray of Jericho, Michaela Murray of Jericho, Bruce and Ann Brooks of Navarre, Florida, Bob and Vicki Brooks of West Burke, Linda and Dick Brummel of Northfield, Illinois, and Raymond and Sigrid Brooks of Lyndonville. She also leaves her cousins: Lorraine and Joseph Millay of Springfield, Norma and Carl Hackett of Derby, Wayne and Fern Leland of Florida and Tillie Pierce of Massachusetts. , 80, of Orleans died on February 10, 2012, in her home. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Stanley Marsh, who died in 2007. She is survived by her five daughters and one son, 11 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. She also has seven brothers and sisters. Mrs. Marsh loved "mystery rides" and spending time with her family. She had a passion for life that was contagious to anyone who knew her. At her request, there will be no services, but anyone who would like can honor her with a donation to their local animal shelter.

He was born in Barre on March 31, 1957, the son of the late Cleon Cady Sr. and Nellie Richardson Cady of Hardwick. Mr. Cady worked as a carpenter most of his life until failing health forced his retirement. He enjoyed his family, hunting and fishing. He is survived by a son, Errol Cady of Littleton, New Hampshire; by his mother Nellie of Hardwick; by two brothers: Frank Cady of Hardwick and Richard Cady and his wife, Carol, of Coventry; by two sisters: Beverly Patrick and her husband, Vernon, of Hardwick and Lucille Foss of Albany; and by many nieces, nephews and extended family. He was predeceased by his father and two brothers: Cleon Cady Jr. and Raymond Cady. , 62, of Bristol, Connecticut, died on Monday, January 30, 2012, at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center, following a courageous battle with cancer. Mr. Carpenter was born May 30, 1949. He was the son of Chester Carpenter and the late Wilma (White) Carpenter. He grew up in Newport, where he became an Eagle Scout and graduated high school. He continued his education and received his master's degree in physical education. For many years, he had been a physical education teacher in the Bristol school system where he was very much loved and admired by his students and peers. He and his late wife, Carol, were affectionately involved in the Special Olympics Program and had worked with many athletes through their involvement. Mr. Carpenter was a certified track and field official for the U.S. Olympics, with a concentration on the long jump and field events. He was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Bennington. His strong abiding faith changed his life and helped to sustain him in the last months of his life. He leaves his father Chester Carpenter of Newport; his sister Kathy Carpenter of Newport; his fiancee Roberta McLaughlin of Bennington; and his aunts and cousins. A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Carpenter will be held February 18, at 11 a.m., at United Church of Derby in Derby. , 79, of Muskogee, Oklahoma, died on Monday, January 30, 2012, in Muskogee, with her loving family by her side. She was born December 8, 1932, in Orleans, to Chester Barney and Ida Christine Falcon Barney. Mrs. Chapman attended Orleans High School, graduating with the Class of 1950. She furthered her education by attending Salem Hospital School of Nursing in Salem, Massachuetts, and Mass Memorial Hospital School of Radiology in Boston, Massachusetts. She advanced to the top of the x-ray department for the State Hospital of Vermont. Mrs. Chapman also worked as a property manager. Mrs. Chapman met and later married Arch S. Chapman on December 10, 1955, in Orleans. They recently celebrated 56 years together. Mrs. Chapman is survived by her husband, Arch S. Chapman; by her daughters: Kay Louise Chapman Stahly and her husband, Daniel, of Goshen, Indiana, and Kimber Rose Chapman of Fort Myers, Florida; by her son Kirby C.R. Chapman of Muldraugh, Kentucky; by her sister Evelyn Webster and her husband, Dick, of Tulare, California; by her grandchildren: Justin Robert Hinga of Norfolk, Virginia, J. Claypool of Fort Myers, and Kathryn Louise Hinga of Fort Wayne, Indiana; by her great-grandsons: Ethan William Hinga and Landon Wesley Hinga, both of Norfolk. , 83, of Derby died on Thursday, January 26, 2012, in Lake Worth, Florida, after a short illness. He was born August 12, 1928, in Stowe, the son of the late Hector Boucher DeLaBruere and Florentine Lestage of Coaticook, Quebec. Mr. DeLaBruere married Cora Lavertue of Norton on August 23, 1947, who predeceased him after 63 years of marriage. Mr. and Mrs. DeLaBruere worked together on their different dairy farms in West Charleston, East Burke and Newport Center where they raised their children. Upon retiring from farming, they settled in Westfield for over 26 years. While there, Mr. DeLaBruere was employed by the Benedictine sisters of the monastery of the Immaculate Heart of Mary for 21 years as their custodian. He retired from that position and in 2003 moved to Derby where he vigilantly cared for his wife for seven years at home until she died in October 2010. In his younger years, Mr. DeLaBruere was very active in his church in the Cursillo, Ultreya Movement and the Knights of Columbus. In his retirement he continued to participate and rely on his church community for strength and spiritual support. His great faith brought him through many difficult times and losses throughout his life. Not only was he a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather but he was a reliable neighbor and friend, always ready to help someone in need. He enjoyed playing cards, bingo and many other games. Mr. DeLaBruere will always be remembered for all the stories he had to tell. He was never at a loss for words. Mr. DeLaBruere is survived by his ten children: Arlene and her husband, Daniel Fortin, of Derby Line, and their children: Julie and Greg; Suzanne and her husband, Deacon Malcolm Zellner, of Daphne, Alabama, and their children: Francis, Ashley, Rachael, Peter and Stephen; Daniel and his wife, Carol Lynn, of North Troy and their children: Anthony, Matthew, Daniel and Stephanie; Lucille and her husband, Marvin Kupperblatt, of Morgan; Rose and her husband, Colonel Gaston Bathalon of Maynard, Massachusetts, and their children: Amanda, Emilie, Phillip, and Jeffrey; Andrew and his wife, Kathy, of Derby and their children: Jessica, Rebecca and Joshua; Dennis and his wife, Aline, of Newport Center and their sons: Jason, Bradley, and Kevin; Peter of Methuen, Massachusetts, and his sons: Dominic, Paul and Michael; Patricia and her husband, Doncarlos Davis, of South Burlington and their daughters: Hilary and Tanya; and Marie of Colchester and her son, Isaac. He also leaves over 20 great-grandchildren, his three brothers and three sisters: Eugene and his wife, Maureen, of Newport Center, Giles and his wife, Christine, of West Charleston, John and his wife, Helena, of Newport, Helene Routhier of Lantana, Florida, Jeanne Harvey of Canaan, and Louise and her husband, Noel Boutin, of Sherbrooke, Quebec; his sister-in-law, Jeannette, and her husband, Michael McCoy, of Tucson, Arizona; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. DeLaBruere was predeceased by two daughters: Rachel and Anne; his great-grandson Jeremiah; his brothers: Roland, Maurice, Roger and Rene; his sister Therese; and by many in-laws. , 79, of Palm City, Florida, died on January 30, 2012, at the Martin Memorial Medical Center in Stuart, Florida, following a short illness. Born December 15, 1932, in Auburn, New Hampshire, she had been a resident of Palm City for 19 years after moving from Barton. While living in Barton, Mrs. Duchesneau helped her husband, Roland, operate the Blue Grill Restaurant. She also operated a daycare and she worked at the C&C Supermarket. For many years, she volunteered at the Barton Public Library. After moving to Palm City, she was employed at Walgreens. Mrs. Duchesneau was a kind, gentle woman who was known for her love of nature which she shared with all of us. Her long walks in the evenings were her favorite part of the day. With her special call, the blue heron that frequented the small pond behind her Palm City home would come to her to be fed as well as the ducks that would come to the front door and wait for her. , 58, of Westfield died on Friday, February 3, 2012, in Newport. He was born in New Haven, Connecticut, on July 2, 1953. Mr. Gabucci spent most of his life in Connecticut before moving to Vermont with his wife in 1991. He was a former employee of the Hospital of St. Raphael for over ten years and he also worked as a real estate agent for several years. He graduated from the University of New Haven and he was a past member of the Marchegiana Club. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and caring for his horse, Ben. Mr. Gabucci and his wife, Debora, loved to travel. Most memorable was their time spent in Alaska. He also enjoyed taking his daughter fishing. He owned and operated Gabucci Rubbish Removal and he always enjoyed friendly visits with his customers as he went about his daily runs. He is survived by his wife Debora Gabucci and by his daughter Danielle Gabucci of Westfield; by his parents, Terese and Harold Gabucci Sr. of Northford, Connecticut; by his brother Mark Gabucci and his wife, Joanne; by his sister Gina Gabucci and her partner, Nancy Gierwielaniec; by his mother-in-law Averil DeMichael; by his sister-in-law Sharon Lynn; by his brother-in-law Steven DeMichael; and by several nieces and nephews. , 94, of Newport died on January 31, 2012, in Glover. She was born January 1, 1918, in Meriden, Connecticut, a daughter of Clifford and Marguerite (Hoyt) White. On April 19, 1941, she married Maurice Marsh who predeceased her on December 26, 1986. Mrs Marsh attended Derby schools, Goddard Seminary, Boston University and Burlington Business College. She held memberships with the Order of the Eastern Star, American Legion Unit #21 Auxiliary where she was past president, the United Church of Newport where she was a member of the Circle of Friends, and she was a member of Community Circle. Mrs. Marsh was an avid reader, politically active and was always surrounded by her books. She is survived by her children: Deborah Dillard of Suffolk, Virginia, Susan Barnett and her husband, Roy Jr., of North Troy, and Stephen Marsh and his wife, Alma, of Newport Center; by her four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; by her sisters- and brother-in-law: Ruth Marsh of Derby, Dorothy Marsh of Winooski, and Chester Carpenter Jr. of Newport; and by several nieces and nephews. , 70, of Lyndonville died on Monday, January 23, 2012, at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital in St. Johnsbury, surrounded by her family, after suffering a severe stroke. She was born on February 10, 1941, in Burlington, the daughter of Burns and Katherine (Hately) Goss. She was a 1959 graduate of St. Johnsbury Academy. She was married to Eugene Carl Davis who predeceased her on April 25, 1969. Following two years of college, she was employed by the Caledonia County Department of Social Services until 1962, when she began her family. While raising her family, she was a Tupperware dealer and host in the area. After the family was raised, she worked for Murphy's Electric for several years and for the past 15 years she was employed by Northern Petroleum (Dead River). Her pastimes included knitting, going on bus tours, traveling with family and friends, photography, and watching NASCAR. She was a longtime member of TOPS and was a 26-year member of KOPS. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her longtime companion of 25 years, Larry Welch. She is survived by a son, Kevin Davis, and his wife, Sandy, of Lyndon; a daughter, Tamela Hastings, and her husband, Edward, of Lyndonville; a brother, Lester Goss of Barnet; eight grandchildren: Jonathan Davis of Sutton, Michael Davis, Samantha Davis and Nicole Davis, all of Lyndonville, Amanda Amadon of Lyndonville, Joshua Hastings, Cassandra Hastings and Christopher Hastings, all of Lyndonville; a great-grandson, Matthew Duda of Lyndonville; her very close sister-in-law Vivian Fox; and by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and the extended Welch family. , 77, died on January 23, 2012, at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington, surrounded by her loving family. On November 4, 1951, she married Wayne Emerson who predeceased her on May 19, 1977. In 1978 she married Roland Lontine who survives her. Mrs. Lontine was a cook at the former Royal Restaurant, Frank's Steak House, Miss Newport Diner, and the Prouty Inn. Her hobbies included playing bingo, word searches, making puzzles, and going for rides. She was a member of St. Mary's Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Newport. She is survived by her children: Shirley Lague and her husband, George, of Derby, Barbara Hammond and her husband, Eric, of Derby, William Emerson of Orleans, Beverly Coffey and her husband, John, of Ingleside, Ontario, Wayne Emerson and his wife, Lisa, of Troy, Deborah McTheeny and her husband, Robert, of Newport, and Nancy Dewing and her husband, Brian, of Coventry; by 19 grandchildren; by 27 great-grandchildren; by her stepchildren: Richard Lontine of East Berkshire, Paul Lontine and his fiancee, Sonia Elwood, of Franklin, Bruce Lontine and his wife, Brenda, of Tennessee, Bobby Lontine and his wife, Sharon, of Swanton, Lynn Lontine and her friend, Dan Scott, of Newport, Steven Lontine and his friend, Melissa Smith, of Newport, and Roland Lontine Jr. and his fiance, Dale Bartlett, of Franklin; by 19 step-grandchildren; and by 26 step-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased her stepdaughter Lisa St. Francis in 2008, by her daughter-in-law Donna Lontine in 2008, and by her mother Pauline Green. Funeral services were held January 27 in Newport. Spring interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Newport.

, 96, of Derby died on January 22, 2012, in Newport. He was born November 8, 1915, in Newport, the son of Edward and Asilia (Labounty) Poginy. On October 7, 1947, he married Mary Marshall who predeceased him on June 20, 2007. He entered the United States Army and served his country during World War II. He farmed in Newport Center most of his life and then he worked at Union Butterfield's in Derby Line until his retirement. He is survived by his children: James Poginy and his wife, Natti, of Nagatucket, Connecticut, Jane Abbott of Lyndonville, Carolyn Heath and her husband, Jerry, of North Hyde Park, Barbara Fisher and her husband, Gordon, of Littleton, New Hampshire, and Jerry Poginy and his wife, Margie, of Newport; by seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; by several step-grandchildren; by his sister Marie McManus of Newport; and by numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers and a sister. Funeral services were held January 27 in Derby Line. Spring interment will be in St. Edward's Cemetery in Derby Line. , 76, died on Friday, January 27, 2012, at her home, after a long illness. She was born on August 18, 1935, in Norwood, Massachusetts, a daughter of Napolean and Rose (Walker) Lacasse. She and her husband, Bill, have lived in the Newport area for many years where they brought up their children. Mrs. Smith held different jobs but was very proud when she got her broker's license and worked with Jetta Smith before becoming associated with Century 21, and between the two had over 20 years in real estate. She served in several different positions for the city of Newport for 20 years. Services will be held at the convenience of the family with interment in the spring. , 87, formerly of Newport Center and Derby died on Friday, January 27, 2012, in Newport, after a long illness. She was born January 3, 1925, a daughter of Lucius and Mable (Bowen) Davis in Island Pond. Mrs. St. Onge was primarily a stay-at-home mom, but found time to be a supervisor of housekeeping at North Country Hospital from 1973 to 1978, and she also worked at Newport Plastics, Ames Department Store, and did a lot of knitting at home. She and her husband, Ross, owned their own camper, which they enjoyed very much. She enjoyed playing bingo, arts and crafts, cooking, including making many wedding cakes in the 1950s and '60s. She especially enjoyed family gatherings. Besides her husband, Ross, she is survived by her children: Bonnie Draper and her companion, Charles Brissette, Steven Rexford, and Gary St. Onge and his companion, Linda Robertson; by the following grandchildren: Michael Millette and his wife, Jodi, Michelle Moore, Darcy Rippon and her husband, Dale, Lisa McGinnis and her husband, Todd, Craig Rexford and his wife, Melissa, Tanya Searles and her husband, Lar, Dan Rexford and his fiancee, Jessica Clark, Todd Draper and his wife, Vikki, and Tara Wright and her husband, Shawn; by 16 great-grandchildren; and by her sister Priscilla Murphy. She was predeceased by her first husband, Francis Rexford; by two sisters: Norma and Joyce; by a son in-law, Reginald Draper; and by a daughter in-law, Gail Rexford. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, February 1, at the Curtis-Britch-Converse-Rushford Funeral Home, 4670 Darling Hill Road, in Newport, with the Reverend Richard Whitehill officiating. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until the hour of the service at the funeral home on Wednesday.
