surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 22, 1945 in Craftsbury,
VT a daughter of Eddy and Fabiola (Bachon) Coderre. In 1971 she married
Chester Geraw who survives her.
Mrs. Geraw loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Chester Geraw of Glover, VT, by her sons:
Raymond Geraw and his wife Lea of Glover, VT, and Eddy Geraw of Glover, VT,
by her grandchildren: Vikki and Destiny Geraw both of Glover, VT, by her

She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by
a son Freddy Geraw in 2005 and by a grandson Michael Geraw in 2005 and by her
brothers: Lucien, Marcel, Eugene and Raymond She was also predeceased by her
sisters: Rita and Jeannette, by her brother-in-laws: Albert, Wallace, and
Charlie and by her sister-in-laws Eva, Rosalie, Jeannette and Tammy.

Joseph G. Bullis
....show , 68, of Newport Center, VT passed away on
November 27, 2012 at his home with his family at his side. He was born
December 27, 1943 in East Orange, New Jersey a son of Percy and Mildred
(English). On June 15, 1968 he married Marlene Willis who survives him.
Joseph was a veteran of the Vietnam War. During his lifetime he was a
machinist at Tivoly in Derby Line, VT. Joseph enjoyed working in his
vegetable and flower garden and he loved to decorate his home at Christmas
time using thousands of lights and scenes. He also loved having the
grandchildren come to his home for a visit and attending family reunions that
were held each year. Joe was a wonderful husband and father. His family
always came first.
He is survived by his wife Marlene Bullis of Newport Center, VT, by his

Derby Line, VT, and Roxanne Couture and her husband Christopher of Newport,

On November 20, 1956 he married Ruth Woodcock who survives him.
Frederick served in the U.S. Army. During his lifetime he was a machinist
at Tivoly in Derby Line, VT.
Among his hobbies he enjoyed hunting.
He is survived by his wife Ruth Tourangeau of Newport, VT, by his children:

November 21, 2012. He was born August 25,1946 in Stowe, VT to Robert and
Annie (Martin) Wright both predeceased. He is survived by his son Jasper
(Jay) Wright his wife Sandy Stoddard and their two children Iva and Jesse of
Craftsbury. His son Charley Wright of Craftsbury. His son Brian Wright of
N.C. His Sister Linda (Wright) Prescott husband Bruce and their children

Roy Ingalls
....show , 97, passed away on November 20, 2012, at the Maple
Lane Nursing Home in Barton, VT. He was born November 19, 1915 in Irasburg,
VT a son of the late Ivan and Jennie (Wells) Ingalls. A lifelong resident of
Irasburg, Roy owned and operated the family dairy farm until 1984. Roy was
very active in the community. He served as selectman for the Town of Irasburg
for 47 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge # 62 in Irasburg and a
charter member of V.A.S.T. Roy enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and
playing poker. He was known for his common sense, his level-headedness and
his Yankee frugality.
Roy leaves his nieces and nephews: Peter and his wife Rita Martin of
Sheffield, VT, Marianne and her husband Mo Hall of Richford, VT, Paul Martin
and his fiancée Christine of Richford, VT, Ilene Elliott of Canaan, VT, Linda
Wignet of White River, VT, Ellen and her husband Skip Swayse of White River,
VT, and his favorite cousin, who was like a daughter to him, Rachel Todd and
her husband Dean of Irasburg, VT.
Roy was predeceased by his beloved companion, Wilma Sargeant; his sisters
and brothers-in-law, Ada Ingalls Martin and her husband Reuben, Lois Ingalls
Winget and her husband Earl, Avis Ingalls Clark Hinton and her husband Ivers
Clark, and Elvin (Jim) Hinton, a niece: Diane Mattoon and nephews: Ivers

Helen L. Bernier
....show , 71, of Coventry passed away November 19, 2012
at her home with her loving family at her side. She was born June 29, 1941 in
Newport, VT, the daughter of Leo and Elsie (Sanville) Cheney, Jr.
On January 14, 1961 she married Richard (Skip) Bernier who survives her.
She graduated from Newport Center High School.
Helen was manager of the Vermont Department of Employment and Training in
Newport where she retired after 30 years of service. During this time she was
also a military veterans representative for the State of Vermont.
Among her hobbies, she was an avid reader, and she also enjoyed gardening.
She loved her dogs: Casey and Boss.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years Richard Bernier of Coventry, VT,
by her daughters: Tina de la Bruere and her husband Raymond of Troy, VT, and
by Stacie L. Baker and her friend Eric Desranleau of Essex, VT, by her
grandsons: Timothy de la Bruere and his spouse Thomas, Brent de la Breure,
Jeret Baker and his wife Kate, and by her granddaughters: Katie Baker and
Emily Baker.
She is also survived by her great grandson Connor.

Ruth Naomi Young
....show died peacefully at her home in Westfield on
November 15, 2012. Ruth was born to Neoma Bean Whalen and Joseph Whalen on
February 19, 1926 at the family farm in Irasburg. In 1943 she married George
L. Young of West Glover and together they bought the farm from Ruth’s mother.
There they raised three children and managed a dairy herd until 1969. Ruth
was proud of the farm’s award-winning syrup (which she boiled herself) and
she dedicated much of her time to promoting the maple industry in Vermont.
In the 1970s Ruth began working at Young’s Green Mountain Nursery along
with her husband and sons. In 1978 the family bought out the nursery’s
founder and moved it to Tree Corners where they ran the business for ten
years.
Ruth had a rich social life and was active in the Irasburg and later, New
Port Richey, Florida communities. Whether she was at the Ladies Aid Society,
Home Demonstration Club, the Grange, square dancing, the Barton Fair, Senior
Centers, or music jam sessions, Ruth was always happiest when surrounded by
friends. She was especially active in the Irasburg United Church, and she
liked to remember how she originated the idea for the Irasburg Church Fair
(now in its 6thdecade). For many years Ruth made flower arrangements for the
church every Sunday.
Following the death of her husband in May of 2009 Ruth lived with her son
Danny in Westfield where she continued to garden and make new friends. She
especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Unwaveringly devoted to her family, she leaves us with the fondest memories
of her humor, generosity, wisdom, and work ethic. She is survived by her
children, Danny Young, Wayne Young and Priscilla Christopher; four grandsons,
Matthew Christopher, Aaron Young, Adam Young, Will Young and their spouses;
and three great grandchildren: Orion Bava Young, Dante Bava Young, Eliza Lily
Knowlton-Young, and Bodhi Knowlton-Young. She is predeceased by her siblings
Pearl Whalen Alexander, Gerald Keith, Thelma Keith Shepherd, and Marion
Kennison.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 11 AM at
Irasburg United Church. The family will receive friends at the church from
10:00 until the time of service. Spring Interment will be at Westlook

Joseph E. Gibney

2012 in Glover, VT. He was born on December 12, 1950 in Troy, VT a son of
Cecil and Irene Gibney. Joseph married Mary Pillsbury who predeceased him. He
survived by his children: Shelly Lavigne of Manchester, NH, Joseph Gibney, Jr
of Manchester, NH, Scott Gibney, Brian Gibney, Jason Gibney and by his step
daughter Tracy Raymond. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of

David B. Bradley
....show , 75, of Barton, VT passed away after an
illness, at Maple Lane Nursing home in Barton, VT on November 15, 2012, his
loving wife and daughter at his side. He was born March 15, 1937 in London,
England, a son of Thomas and Dorothy (West) Bradley, where he lived until
1947. On April 6, 1985 he married Tanya Washer Lamphere, who survives
him.
David graduated in 1954 from Phillips-Andover Academy, in Andover, MA. In
1958, he graduated from Brown University, with a degree in Classics. During
his senior year, he was the editor of the Brown Daily Herald. He later
continued his education, earning an MBA from Plymouth State University in
1981.
During summer vacations from Brown, David worked at Coca-Cola. After
graduation, he taught Latin and coached soccer at St. Mark’s School in
Southborough, MA. He later became professor of Business Administration and
Accounting at Lyndon State College, retiring in 2007. The graduating class of
1989 elected him to receive the second annual senior class award to faculty.
He also served as a member of the Barton Zoning Board, Planning Commission
and Financial Committee during the 90s.
David was an avid reader. He also loved golf, and was a member of the
Barton Country Club. In the late 70s he owned Ashuelot Ridge Golf Course in
Sullivan, NH.
David is survived by his wife Tanya Bradley of Barton, VT, by his children:
David Bradley of Rocky Mount, NC, Mark Bradley and his wife Maureen McBride
of Wake Forest, NC, Thomas Bradley and his wife Bailey of Winooski, VT, and
Tara Bradley of Burlington, VT, by his grandchildren: Rebecca Bradley,

Andre G. Geoffrey
....show , 63, of Derby Line, VT passed away suddenly on
November 14, 2012 in Newport, VT. He was born April 20, 1949 in Newport, VT a
son of George and Pauline (Sicard) Geoffrey.
He married Lucy Laframboise who survives him. He graduated from North
Country Union High School in the class of 1968.
Andre was a conductor for the Canadian Pacific Railroad where he retired in
1998 after 20 years of service. Among his hobbies, he enjoyed camping and
going to their summer camp in Island Pond, VT, where enjoyed maintaining the
property and clearing trees.
He was a President of the Border Line Ridge Riders and he was instrumental
in establishing trail systems for the group. He and Lucy enjoyed traveling
and visiting many different areas of the country.
Andre dedicated much of his time to music. He was always looking for new
songs to learn and play for his family and friends as well as for weddings.
Andre was a member of the band “Three Easy Pieces” along with Butch and Neil.
He also played for Derby Line Days and other functions including playing for
the residents of many area nursing homes on a regular basis. He enjoyed jam
sessions, playing as a solo guitarist, and with a Karoke machine. He also
enjoyed cribbage tournaments.
He is survived by his wife Lucy Laframboise of Derby Line, VT, by his son
Chris Geoffrey of North Adams, MA, by his brothers and sisters and their

13,2012 in Newport. He was born September 30, 1929 in Newport Center, VT a
son of Floyd and Doris (Bowman) Tinker. On February 26,1955 he married Nancy
Grow who predeceased him on July 16, 2004. Ralph was a veteran of the Korean
War where he served on the front line. He was a dairy farmer in Newport
Center, VT for many years where he worked for Merton Thayer and Marty Before.
His hobbies included going camping with his children and grandchildren and
working on his puzzle books. He held membership with the Veterans of Foreign
Wars Post 798.
He is survived by his children: Debra Young and her husband Leland of

William Spencer Lawson
....show lost his courageous battle with cancer
and went home to be with the Lord on November 12, 2012. Bill was born on
November 30, 1938 in Coventry, Vermont to Norman and Alice (Spencer) Lawson
and attended Coventry Graded School and Orleans High School, Class of 1956.
He grew up on the family farm in Coventry and then married his wife, Barbara
Irene (Cutting) Lawson on April 7, 1961. They began farming on Burton Hill in
Barton, then purchased the home farm on Covered Bridge Road in Irasburg in
1969 where he continued to farm until his retirement. He served many years in
community service on the Irasburg School Board, the Irasburg Fire Department
the FSA Board, and the Soil Conservation Board. He was a man that loved his
family and enjoyed spending time with them . He also loved to snowmobile and
hunt, but what he enjoyed the most was drawing diagrams of his future
woodworking projects. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Barbara,
his son Douglas and his wife Manon and their children: Donna, Seth, and
Emily, all of Irasburg; his son Mark and wife JoAnn of Coventry and their
children: Kevin, Shawn, and Danielle and her husband Kyle and his
great-granddaughter Emma; and a very special niece, Elaine and her husband
Oliver of Irasburg and their six children; sister Nancy Newton and her
husband Edwin and his nephew Chuck and niece Amy; several other nieces and
nephews. He was predeceased by his grandsons William and Jason in 1993.

Derby, VT surrounded by her loving family on November 11, 2012. She was born
on August 24, 1953 in Troy, VT a daughter of the late Jack R. Armstrong and
Beverly M. Collins. Bonnie was employed at Ethan Allan as a rip saw operator.
Bonnie enjoyed going to Florida and Foxwood Casino in Connecticut with Ron,
watching hummingbirds come to her feeders, and taking pictures. She
absolutely loved family gatherings and being with her grandchildren. She was
a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Eagles and a past member of the
Eastern Star.
She is survived by her children: Shane Provencher and his wife Nikki of
Troy, VT, and Terry Provencher and his wife Amanda of Derby, VT. She is also
survived by her companion of 25 years Ron Griffin of Derby, VT, by her mother
Beverly Collins Armstrong and her friend Raymond Lessard, by her
grandchildren: Paige, Haven, Jonas, Nicholas, Meia, Jonathan, Ashleigh, Coby,
Dakota, and Averie Provencher.
She is also survived by her brothers: Steven Armstrong of White River
Junction, VT, Terry Armstrong of White River Junction, VT, and Brent
Armstrong and his wife Lynne of Virginia,and by her sister Barbara Meier and

Edith Ida Savoy Sloan
....show passed away peacefully on the 10th of
November 2012 at Starr Farm Nursing Home in Burlington, Vermont. Those who
knew her will miss her but after 25 years she was ready to rejoin the love of
her life, Hubert Dustin Sloan. She was a loving Mother, Grand Mother and
Great Grand Mother.
Edith was on born on October 21st, 1921, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada to
Frank Savoy and Ida Maude Maxwell Savoy. She married Hubert in 1939 at the
Church of Notre Dame in Montreal. Edith is survived by her four children:
Marcia Louise Sloan Quinn of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Jeffrey Hubert Sloan
of Richmond, Vermont, John David Sloan and Judy Sloan MacReynolds.
Though she lived the majority of her life in her beloved Island Pond
Vermont she moved, with her family, to Montreal, Couteau QC and Portland
Maine as the wife of a CNR Engineer. She will be remembered as a woman of
strength, resilience and an amazing friend who loved a good laugh. She was a
loving Mother who spent 91 years contributing her love, knowledge and
generosity to all who knew her.

Michael P. Bartolomeo
....show , 54, of Newport, VT passed away on
November 6, 2012 in Newport, VT. He was born on March 26, 1958 in Long
Island, NY a son of Dominick and Helen (Grossman) Bartolomeo. Michael earned
his GED and later graduated with a batchelor’s degree in computer science
from the Community College of Vermont. Michael was a member of American
Legion Post 21. He enjoyed working on computers, drawing, watercolors and
most of all raising his daughter Demi.
He is survived by his daughter Demi Bartolomeo and her companion Greg
Crease,Jr. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Gregory Crease 111 and
Colin Crease, by his sisters and brothers : William Bartolomoeo of CO, Janice
Corkins of NC, Joseph Bartolomeo of NC, Patty Murray of NC, Diane Scalzo of
VT, Lori Catley of NC, James Bartolomeo of NY, Peter Bartolomeo of NC. He was
predeceased by a sister Barbara Thibeault. Private funeral services will be
held at the convenience of the family. Should friends desire contributions in

Ronald B. Simons
....show , 46, of Coventry, VT passed away suddenly on
November 5, 2012 at his home. He was born on September 11, 1966 in Sharon, CT
a son of Earl and Joyce (Morey) Simons. On May 1, 1999 he married Sarah
Dunbar who survives him. Mr. Simons was a truck driver for Simons Logging
Company.
He raised registered chickens and showed them along with his registered
pigeon’s at various shows. He loved his constant companion dog named Harley.
He enjoyed going to work, reading western novels and watching television. He
especially loved his grandson and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Sarah Simons of Coventry, VT, by his parents
Joyce Simons of Barton, VT, and Earl Simons and his wife Brenda of
Brownington, VT, by his children: Bruce Simons of Barton, VT, Samantha Simons
and her companion Allan Bartelson, Jr of Coventry, VT, and Carmen Simons and
her companion Justin Maloney of Coventry, VT. He is survived by a grandson
Wyatt Maloney, by his brothers: Jay Simons and his wife Julie of Bolton, VT,
and Lance Simons and his wife Carolyn of Claremont, NH. He was predeceased by
a brother Adam Simons in 1987. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on
Saturday November 17, 2012 at the Brownington Center Church with the Pastor
Dan Prue officiating.
