Below are messages from various family members:
“She raised 16 children whom all love her very much because she's gracious, kind, loving, caring, loyal, considerate, trustworthy, knows the value of a dollar, and all our best friend. Who could ask for more in a mother than our own mother. We all love you dearly.” Margaret Boyce (daughter)
“A flower that never stopped blossoming.”– Allan Herring (son)
“I want everyone to know that I took care of my wonderful mother during her last days and we had this saying every night when I put her to bed. She'd say I love you, and I'd say, I love your more, then she'd say I love you the mostest and I'd say I love you for all eternity and she'd say I guess you got me there cause there's nothing greater than that.”– Margaret (daughter)
“Gram was a very loving grandmother and hard worker with a lot of knowledge about farming. I loved working with her growing up.”– Allen Herring (grandson)
“A truly amazing woman with incredible strength that amazed everyone that met her, even her doctors. She was a treasure and I am blessed to have known her. I love you Gram.” – Cara Herring
(granddaughter-in-law)
“What my Gram means to me: always loving, always caring, never swearing, oops gram you swore! I was 35 the first time I heard you swear cause Grampa didn't go to your birthday party. I will always love you, your grandson, Randy.– Randy Herring (grandson)
“Grammy was all about the family from my first days, and beyond I'm sure. I have never seen a bigger smile, and someone be so proud when the family would take a moment to be together. I miss the bell at lunch time, which was consistent every day. Grammy, love you always and forever. Thank you for all the great moments.”– Chris Herring (grandson)
“From the first time I met her she gave me a big hug and a kiss. She always held on tight. She had a story for just about every son, daughter, grandchild, and even her animals. One of her favorite stories was when Chris peddled his bike from his house to the farm to see her when he was little. She had a huge heart and a gentle touch.”– Wendy Herring (granddaughter-in-law)
“Great Gram was more than my family, she was also my friend. Her love helped me through a very hard time in my life. One thing she always knew was how to love. Through hugs and prayers she kept me strong. She gave me encouragement and urged me never to give up. She shared her experiences with me and made me thankful for all that I had. We shared many moments doing things together that she loved: smiling, laughing, talking, reading, and doing puzzles. I will cherish those memories. Gram never asked for much, all she wanted was the love of her family. Oh, and peanut butter M&Ms which I always brought her. I love you gram.” – Mandy Herring (great granddaughter)
A graveside service will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at the Middlesex Center Cemetery.
