Raymond Alfred Allard Jr.
....show , 54, passed away May 23, 2012 in St. Johnsbury at the home of his cousin Robert Jerkins and his aunt Barb Brewer which many thanks go to for the loving care they gave him. Raymond was born May 25, 1957 the son of Raymond Allard Sr. and Donna Brewer. He was predeceased by a daughter, Heather, his parents and a sister. He is survived by three sons, Billy, Zackery and Josh; two grandchildren, William and Jessica; one sister, Pamela Ceilman of Lyndon, VT., and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Many thanks also go to Home Health, Hospice and the Cancer Center and Tonya and Jeff who provided him with care and comfort till the end. A celebration of his life will be held in Burke Hollow at a later date. There are no calling hours.
Beverly J. "Bev" (Scott) Amadon
....show of Main Street, Lyndonville passed away early Saturday Morning (December 22, 2012) at the St. Johnsbury Health and Rehabilitation Center in St. Johnsbury, VT. She was 87.
Born on May 22, 1925 in Morrisville, VT, she was the daughter of Harold and Florence (Small) Scott.
Bev married her high school sweetheart Laurence Amadon on Nov. 18, 1943. They enjoyed 63 years of marriage when Laurance passed away in 2007.
Her focus in life was taking care of her husband and raising their five children. She loved to do crafts of all kinds and also enjoyed drawing, writing poems, sewing, and quilting. She spent many hours watching the Red Sox. She also enjoyed coloring with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Bev was a member of the Lyndonville First Congregational Church. Besides her husband Laurance, she is pre-deceased by a daughter Paulette Camber, 4 brothers, and two sisters.
Beverly is survived by her four children & their spouses: Richard & Karen Amadon of Kingman, IN, Deborah and James Green of Bronson, FL, Randy and Sandy Amadon of Lyndonville, VT, and Tim and Anne Amadon of Skowhegan, ME; Son in Law Bradley Camber of Wildersville, TN, 10 Grandchildren, 19 Great-Grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and close friends Dot Randall and Liz Williams.
A Memorial Service will be held in May 2013 at the Lyndonville First Congregational Church, Lyndonville, VT. Burial will be at Lyndon Center Cemetery.

Richard "Dick" W. Barber
....show , 70, of Wheelock, VT passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at NVRH, St Johnsbury, VT following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born March 23, 1942 in Lyndonville, VT. He was the son of Wendell & Emma (Hubbard) Barber.
Richard grew up on Hubbard Hill (Squabble Hollow), Lyndonville. He was a 1960 graduate of Lyndon Institute. He served in the Army National Guard and was honorable discharge in 1960 and then served in the US Navy from September 20, 1959 to June 22, 1960. Richard was a jack of all trades - logger, carpenter, owned a ceramic shop and in the most recent years drove truck. He retired from McDermott Trucking transporting milk. Recently he drove for Pete & Gerry's Egg Farm transporting eggs. He also participated in the volunteer Sheffield/Wheelock Fire Department for years.
Richard took great pride in his daughters, Megan's athletics & Tammy's showing of her horses. He was almost always spotted on the sidelines with Kris, watching his grandson Shane participate in his sports. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, 4-wheeling and camping. He enjoyed the companionship of his trusted golden retriever, "Trigger" who died a year ago and recently his Pomeranian "Shiloh".
He leaves his mother Emma Barber and companion Monique Pauquette, both of the Lyndonville, VT.
He is also survived by his daughters, Tammy Barber and her companion Marc Broughton of Passumpsic, VT. Kristina Barber of St. Johnsbury, and Megan Bunnell and her husband Trevor of Danville, VT; their mother Sheryl Barber of St. Johnsbury. His sister, Louise Berry and her companion Kelley of Punta Gorda, FL. Three grandsons, Shane LaCroix, Carter and Cole Bunnell.
He was predeceased by his father Wendell and his sister Elaine Lamb.
A graveside funeral service will be held Friday, October 12, 2012 @ 2:30 pm in the family lot in the Sulphur Springs Cemetery, in Wheelock, Vt. Family and friends are invited to gather after the graveside service at the Elks on Western Ave in St. Johnsbury, VT from 4-6pm. Ruth E. Barrett
....show , 94, of Lyndonville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 9th, 2012, at the Green Mountain Nursing Home in Colchester.
Ruth was born in St. Johnsbury on March 31, 1918, the daughter of Carroll and Mildred Tillotson Jenne. She graduated from the St. Johnsbury Academy with the Class of 1936.
On August 11, 1941, she married Alfred L. Barrett in St. Johnsbury and together they began their family.
For many years Ruth worked for CVPS until moving to Lyndonville in the mid 1940's, where she worked for Flowerland when her children were in school. Ruth was very active in her church and involved in many clubs and local activities, and bowling was her favorite sport. She lived life to the fullest and on her own terms.
Ruth is survived by her daughter Joanne Gregoire and her husband Bill; her son Gary; her daughter Cynthia Griffith and her husband Peter; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren including T.J. Gregoire, his wife Heather and their daughter Kaylee; Brian Gregoire, his wife Jess and their children Matthew and Gabrielle; Alfred Barrett and his wife Shauna, daughter Jasmine and a very new son; Kristina Barrett and her companion Alex; and also her daughter-in-law, Linda Barrett, who cared for Ruth at home for many years. She is also survived by her sisters Carole Hamlett and Dorothy Nicholson, and her husband Howard, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Al in 1976 and her brother Harlan in 1968.
Ruth's family wants to give a very special thank you to all of the staff at the Green Mountain Nursing Home who lovingly cared for our mother during her stay. They are a wonderful group of caring individuals.

Bernard F. Blake
....show , 89, of Lyndonville, VT passed away Monday, May 14, 2012 at Northeast Vermont Regional Hospital.
Born on May 18, 1922 in Campton, NH, he was the son of William J. and Lila (Coe) Blake.
Bernard grew up in West Burke, VT. On March 17, 1939, he married Barbara E. Young, also of West Burke, VT. Their three daughters were all born on West Burke and they lived there until 1947 when the family moved to Tupper Lake, NY, where Bernard worked in the logging business. The family returned to West Burke in 1955 and remained there until retirement in 1984 from the Vermont Tap & Die-Vermont American Company where he worked as a machinist.
Bernard and Barbara were members of the Yankee Waters Camping Club and they spent lots of wonderful time traveling and camping with their many friends in the club. In retirement, they spent winters in Zephyrhills, Fl.
He is pre-deceased by his loving wife of 66 years Barbara Young Blake, two brothers Clifton and Wendall Blake, inlaws Gerald Young, Arlene Young, and Vanessa Piper.
He leaves three daughters: Lucy Gaskell and her husbnd David of West Sand Lake, NY, Ruth Welch and her husband Richard of East Burke, VT, and Eleanor Little and her husband Wayne of Mesa, AZ; seven grandchildren: Kevin Stevens of Philadelphia, PA, Tamara Gaskell of Media, PA, Vickie Johnsons and her husband Joshua of Derry, NH, Linda Cornwell and her husband Kevin of Virginia Beach, VA, Jeffrey Gaskell and his wife Karen of Nassau, NY, Richard Welch and his wife Tammy of Sheffield, VT, and Gregory Gaskell and his wife Denise of Glenville, NY; eight great-grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, a brother William Blake, Jr of Gansevoort, NY; two sisters Wilma Fournier and Marylyn Blake both of St. Johnsbury Center, VT; two sisters in law: Eunice Craig of Newport, VT and Beverly Young of Gastonia, NC as well as many nieces, nephews ad special lifelong friends.

Over the years, Priscilla was employed as a chambermaid at various hotels in the area. She is survived by 4 sons: Ricky, Alexander, David, and Wayne Burns 3 daughters Cherie Shatz, Penny Whitcomb, and Donna Burns. 14 Grandchildren, 11 Great-Grandchildren, Two sisters Wendy & Irene Pre-deceased by a brother Clarence Miller. Reginald C. Cross
....show , of Lyndonville, Vt., passed away Tuesday evening, Oct. 30, 2012, at The Pines Rehabilitation and Health Center in Lyndonville.
He was born Aug. 21, 1946, in East Burke, Vt., to George and Doris (Meehan) Cross. Reg grew up in East Burke and East Haven, Vt.
In December of 2010 Reg moved into the Pines where he enjoyed playing bingo and singing for the staff. He will be remembered for his singing.
He is survived by two sisters, Carolyn Russo and husband Francis of Salem, N.H., and Sherry Hoyt and Charles Hegarty of St. Johnsbury, Vt.; one brother-in-law, Richard Charron of Lyndonville, Vt.; an aunt, Evelyn Cross of Newark, Vt.; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Reg was predeceased by a brother, Gordon, one sister, Elizabeth (Betty) Cross Charron and a brother, Gerald "Sonny" Cross; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
At the family's request there will be no services. Burial will be private and held at a later date in the family lot in the Woodmont Cemetery in East Burke, Vt.

....show , 70, of Lyndonville, VT passed away Monday, January 23, 2012 at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital in St. Johnsbury, VT, after suffering a severe stroke last week.
She was born on February 10, 1941 in Burlington, VT, the daughter of Burns and Katherine (Hately) Goss. She was a 1959 graduate of St, Johnsbury Academy.
She was married to Eugene Carl Davis who predeceased her on April 25, 1969.
Following two years of college, she was employed by Caledonia County Department of Social Services until 1962, when she began her family. While raising her family, she was a Tupperware Dealer and Host in the area. After the family was raised, she worked for Murphy's Electric for several years and for the past fifteen years, she was employed by Northern Petroleum (Dead River).
Her pastimes included Knitting, going on bus tours, traveling with family and friends, photography, and watching Nascar. She was a longtime member of TOPS and was a 26 year member of KOPS.
Besides her parents and husband, she was pre-deceased by her longtime companion of 25 years Larry Welch.
She is survived by a son Kevin Davis and his wife Sandy of Lyndon, VT., a daughter, Tamela Hastings and her husband Edward of Lyndonville, VT, and a brother, Lester Goss of Barnet, VT.

Born on Jan 6, 1941, in East Barnet, Vt., he was the son of Elwin and Lottie (Agon) Dresser.
Richard grew up in Gilman, Vt.
He was employed as a roofer for Rodds Roofing in St. Johnsbury and also had worked at Gilman Paper Mill, East Burke Log Yard, and Roy's Manufacturing in the past.
His pastimes included restoring old clocks, fishing, riding on his lawn tractor, being in the outdoors, and working on automobiles.
He will be remembered for helping other people in need. He just enjoyed life to its fullest and being with friends and family.
Besides his parents, he is pre-deceased by siblings: Pauline Dresser, Louise Wood, Howard Dresser, and Margret Williams.

She was born on March 1, 1944 in St. Johnsbury, VT the daughter Robert and Winifred Rose (Montgomery) Rodger. She attended schools in St. Johnsbury, VT and was a graduate of St. Johnsbury Academy class of 1962, they celebrated their 50th class reunion this year and her classmates were all very special to her. She had been employed for Seminole Point Hospital in Sunapee, NH as Director of Admissions for many years. Jacquelyn enjoyed spending time with her special friends, she loved holidays with family, music, she was very strong willed and always positive never once complaining about her illness. She also volunteered at the Visiting Center in Littleton, NH she just enjoyed visiting with people. She is survived by one daughter, Heather Smith of Sausalito, CA.; one son, Jason Smith and wife Kelly of Wheelock, VT and one step-son Charles Frey III of Harrisburg, PA; one sister, Gail Roberts and her husband Sam of Passumpsic, VT. She was predeceased by one brothers, Dana Rodger. Jen grew up in Barnet and attended Barnet Schools. Jen enjoyed working beside her husband Ross as a finish carpenter in their business R&J Construction. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She enjoyed baking and decorating cakes, gardening, astrology, riding motorcycles, and pitching horseshoes.
She is pre-deceased by two daughters: Jaime Garand, Julie Granger, her father Robert Broome, her adopted Dad Norman Sizen, and step father Reginald Moulton, and a brother Robert L. (Broome) Sizen.

....show , a longtime resident of Littleton, NH died Saturday, September 15, 2012 at the home of his son Richard Jackman III in Lyndonville, VT. He was 66.
Born on November 4, 1945 in Littleton, NH, he was the son of Richard F. Jackman, Sr., and Doris M. (Roby) Jackman Marsh.
Richard grew up in Littleton, NH and attended Littleton schools. He was drafted into the US Army and served in Vietnam from 1966-1967.
He was employed as a production supervisor at Norton Pike and and Tender Corporation in Littleton, NH and also worked in maintenance at the Indianhead resort in Lincoln, NH, retiring due to disability.
He was a member of the Littleton VFW, participated in Memorial Day Events every year, and was a member of the Littleton Eagles.
Richard enjoyed woodworking, gardening, cooking, and he loved to play guitar and sing with his brother Ronnie. Besides his parents, he is pre-deceased by a brother Paul Jackman.
He is survived by a son Richard F. Jackman, III and his wife Melissa of Lyndonville, VT. A daughter Tammy Allen and her husband Rodney of Lancaster, NH

Born on June 10, 1926 in Sutton, VT, she was the daughter of Clyde and Ruby Ethel (Davis) Jackman Bigelow.
Ruth graduated from Lyndon Institute in 1944. Ruth was a school teacher for many years in Barton and Stowe, VT. She knitted hats for the newborns at Copley Hospital for many years as well. Ruth was a longtime member at the Lyndonville United Methodist Church. She loved to make her own greeting cards, knit, scrapbook, go to the band concerts, read, play Yahtzee, put together puzzles and volunteer at her church. She also loved the trips that she made during the holidays to see her "adopted family".

Born on May 30, 1940 in St. Johnsbury, VT, he was the son of David W. and Lucille B. (McDowell) Knowlton.
Donald was a lifelong resident of the area. He was a retired steelworker and retired from Carpenter Steel in Bridgeport, CT.
He was an avid Harley Davidson enthusiast.

Marcello Anthony "Chet" Marinelli
....show , 86 , of East Burke died peacefully on Wednesday, November 21 in his Hospice Home in Concord, Vermont, surrounded by his loving family and end of life caregiver Bill Kilgour. He was born on November 13, 1926 in Burlington, New Jersey, the son of Dominic and Bruna (Bedetta) Marinelli. He graduated from high school in Burlington, New Jersey and was a graduate of Dartmouth College Class of 1949 with a Masters in Electrical Engineering. He was a Navy Veteran having served in WW II in the V-12 Program. He moved with his family to Vermont in 1971 and worked at Fairbank Scales, Inc. He retired from Hyer Inds, Thayer Scales in Pembroke, MA. In 1991, he returned to East Burke, Vermont where he and his son, Marc, built his home. He enjoyed gardening, skiing, golf, fishing, and snow shoeing. He loved sharing these activities with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Doris Catherine (Purnell) Marinelli of East Burke, his son, David Marinelli of Quincy MA; his daughter Janet Marinelli Littel of St. Johnsbury, his daughter Carolyn Marinelli Krug and her husband Tom of Essex; and son Marc Marinelli and his wife Mary Callahan of East Burke. His grandchildren Jaden and Ryan Littel, Dominic Marinelli; Katy, Mary and Mickey Krug, Owen Marinelli Callahan, two great-grandchildren, John and William Marinelli. His brother Adrian Marinelli and his wife Elizabeth, and brother Richard Marinelli, and his sister Clara Harris of New Jersey. Many nieces and nephews. He was born on February 16, 1943, in Irasburg, Vermont, son of Ernest Charles Mason and Marion Clarkson Mason. He married his high school sweetheart, Barbara Ellen Hommel, on September 14, 1963 who survives him. Mr. Mason graduated from Orleans High School in the Class of 1960 and entered the United States Air Force directly following graduation. A1C Mason was honorably discharged from the USAF at Pope AFB in North Carolina on June 14, 1966. During his service in the USAF, A1C Mason received several commendations for achievements in: Management, Data Systems & Statistics and Supervisory Skills. He took these skills and applied them to his 40-plus years within the Manufacturing arm of the Home Furnishing Industry, including 28-plus years with Ethan Allen, Inc. Mr. Mason had a knack for plant management and manufacturing logistics, incorporating client and personnel relationships with overall production efficiency and issue resolution. He worked with several manufacturing facilities in several states, including; Ethan Allen, Inc.; DCI; Athens Furniture Industries; Baker Furniture; Green Mountain Custom Finishing; Vermont Tubbs; Vermont Precision; and, Lyndon Furniture. He retained relationships and close friendships throughout the industry until the time of his passing. Mr. Mason enjoyed serving his community through many volunteer services. He had a passion for supporting youth sports and activities and assisted many years with local youth baseball and basketball teams starting back in the late 1960's with the Pony League in Orleans. He coached Little League and Babe Ruth in Orleans County and assisted with the Border Hoops Junior Pro All-Star Basketball program. Mr. Mason was an active Cub Scout Leader and Elks member for several years. He was a mentor and community activities leader for the Orleans County Court Diversion program, Green-Up Day, North Country Hospital Wellness Smokers' Anonymous program, NCUHS Booster program, Morgan's E. Taylor Hatton Elementary School advisory task force and numerous other avocations. In his retirement years, Mr. Mason enjoyed renovating the old cow barn to accommodate his Belgian Draft horses on the farmland in Morgan that he and his wife purchased in 2000, fulfilling a life long dream. Another proud accomplishment on the property was working closely to reclaim the existing pond - known now as "Ken Spring Pond" - and stocking it with Brook Trout which he always loved to fish for throughout the county. Mr. Mason loved visiting with family and friends and was always game for a trip to Virginia to see his grandkids play sports. He enjoyed playing cribbage with whoever would take him up on the challenge and then entertain with his renditions on the karaoke machine. He hosted many snow shoeing/cross-country ski parties with friends out in Morgan and left no season behind in planned fun activities. He is survived by his wife Barbara E. Mason of Morgan, and by his children: Kristin Mason and her partner, Ron Roberge, of Morgan; Korey Mason and his wife, Amy, of Williamsburg, VA. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Lindsay Mason and Ryan Mason of Williamsburg, VA; his mother-in-law, Ellen Stone Hommel of Orleans; his brother-in-law, Richard Hommel and his wife, Alida, of Whitinsville, MA; his nephew, Rick Hommel and his wife, Lisa, and their children, RJ, Samantha and Eli, of Waterbury; his niece, Tracy Ferreira and her husband, David, and their children, Carly and Jake, of Milford, MA; special cousin, Martha Jean Burton and her husband, Steve, of Lebanon, NH; and many extended family members in Vermont, New Hampshire, Texas, Washington, Alabama and Virginia. He was predeceased by his daughter, Kimberly Ellen Mason; his parents, Ernest Charles Mason and Marion Clarkson Mason; and his brother, Roy Mason. In lieu of funeral services, internment and graveside services will be held at Pleasant View Cemetery in Orleans on Saturday, May 26, 2012, at 11 a.m. Following the internment, a celebration of Ken's life will be held at Ken Spring Pond in Morgan on Saturday, May 26, 2012, at 3 p.m. Donations in Ken's memory may be made to: IROC in Derby, VT, and/or Pope Memorial Frontier Animal Society in Orleans, VT.

....show , 57, of Vail Drive, Lyndonville, died Friday, March 23, 2012 at home following a short illness.
Born on January 6, 1955, she was the daughter of Merrill R. and Dorothy L. (Pierce) Noyes.
Terry was a graduate of Concord High School in Concord, VT and was a longtime resident of Lyndonville. She was employed as Asia Restaurant as manager and hostess for many years.
She enjoyed being at the ocean with her feet in the sand, looking for shells. Feeding the birds along with chipmunks and squirrels, and walking.
Survivors include her daughter Brooke L. Noyes, her son Justin A. Halpern, and grandson Caleb Sanville all of Lyndonville, VT.
Two brothers Ronald Noyes of St. Johnsbury, VT and Dale Noyes of Concord, VT.
A sister Nancy Landrigan of Hartford, CT

Beverly May Scherber
....show , 75, a resident of Pinehurst Street, Lyndonville, Vt., passed away peacefully, Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012 at home surrounded by her children.
She loved sewing, crocheting, working and spending time with family and friends. She was loved by many and will be sorely missed by all.
She was predeceased by her oldest son Vincenzo J. D'Auria in 2006.
She is survived by her sister Della Lafleur of West Burke, Vt., her children: Pellegrino D'Auria and wife Pamela of Jewett City, Conn., Michele D'Auria and wife Dena of Jewett City, Conn., Alan Scherber and wife Cara of Windham, N.H., Annie Scherber and fiancé Richard John Jr. of Danville, Vt.
She is also survived by her many grandchildren. Blanche Rose Sheltra

Born on September 1, 1916 near Newport, VT, she was the daughter of Philias and Eugenia Bessette. A longtime resident of Lyndonville, VT, she was employed in earlier years at Hill's Manufacturing, Palmer Brother's Laundry and retired from Ideal Upholstery in St. Johnsbury, VT. Blanche was a communicant of St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Lyndonville and she enjoyed gardening, horses, sewing, and doing upholstery. She is pre-deceased by her husband Ralph Sheltra (1967), a son Robert Sheltra, three sisters, and five brothers. She leaves her daughter Mrs Gerard (Rose) Boulay of Lyndonville Five grandchildren: Robert and Michael Kennedy both of Lyndonville, James Kennedy of Wheelock, Brian Sheltra of St. Johnsbury, and Lori Sheltra. Several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Monday, June 3 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 642 Hill St, Lyndonville, VT. Burial will follow at St. Elizabeth's Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
Jeanne E. Smith
....show of Bugbee Crossing Road of West Burke, passed away Thursday Morning (November 15, 2012) at her home following a period of declining health. She was 91 years old.
Born on April 4, 1921 in Newark, New Jersey, she was the daughter of Frank and Florence Everett.
Mrs Smith grew up in Hillside, New Jersey On July 29, 1939 she married Ford M. Smith. They enjoyed 73 years of marriage and together raised two children.
She retired from the Union Township Board of Education in Union, NJ where she was employed as an executive secretary.
For the past twenty one years, she and her husband have resided in West Burke, VT, moving from Ringoes, NJ.
She enjoyed spending time with her spouse and will be remembered as a wonderful homemaker, a good cook, and a loving and caring wife and mother.
She is pre-deceased by a grandson Robert John McGhee (1995) and her son in law Daniel F. Ryan (2003).
She leaves her loving husband Mr. Ford M. Smith, Sr of West Burke, VT A son Ford M. Smith, Jr of Green Cove Springs, FL and a daughter Elaine S. Ryan of Island Pond, VT.
A graveside service will be held at 12 Noon Tuesday, November 20 at the family plot at Hillside Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
Waldo Taylor Sr.
....show passed away Feb. 28, 2012 at the age of 76 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center following a long battle with diabetes. His family was by his side.
Wally was born May 8, 1935, the son of Arthur C. and Geneva Taylor. He married Alice Willey on June 14, 1955, and they had four children.
Survivors include: Alice (Willey) Taylor, his wife of 56 years; his three dear children, Alice Jean and husband Everett Douse of Waterford, Waldo (Wally) Taylor Jr. and wife Becky of Lyndonville, and Debbie Ruggles and companion Herb Little, also of Lyndonville; six grandchildren, Tanya and husband Sean Donovan, Tracy Douse, Jessica Ruggles, Charles (Skip) Ruggles III, Loni and husband Steve Morale of Lyndonville, and Jimmy Taylor also of town; one great-grandson, Brayden Donovan. Wally also leaves three sisters, Sandra Meyette and Margery (Deedee) Switser of town, and Claire Lyonnais of Florida; two brothers, Robert and wife LeeAnn Taylor, and Steve and wife Judy Taylor, all of Lyndonville; several nieces and nephews. Waldo was predeceased by a daughter Wallinda Taylor and a dear son-in-law Charles (Chuck) Ruggles, his father and mother, Clair and Geneva Taylor, and a brother Frank.
Waldo worked for Fairbanks Scales for 41 years before retiring because of his health. He enjoyed riding his Goldwing motorcycle before the loss of a limb. He also liked mowing the lawn and keeping things neat around the yard. When Wally was home, most any afternoon you could find him on his computer with his games. His biggest love were his wife, children and grandchildren. He will leave an empty place in all our hearts and we will truly miss him.
At his request there will be no visiting hours. A graveside service will be held at 11am Saturday, May 19 at Woodmont Cemetery in East Burke at the family lot. Family and friends will be welcome.
Perlene M. (Bourtell) Thompson
....show , 81, of North Haven, CT, passed away April 1, 2012 at Village Green of Wallingford. She was the beloved wife of Donald Thompson for 59 years. She'd suffered many years from Alzheimer's and Dementia.
Born in Groton, VT, October 25, 1930, to the late Joseph and Mary Debois Bourtell, she attended schools in Lyndon and Lyndon Institute. She married Donald Thompson of Sheffield in March 1953.
Perlene worked many years as a nurse's aide then at the circuitwise corps, until she retired. The family enjoyed camping with their motor home. Perlene loved working in her garden of flowers.
Mother of Dale Roy Thompson of North Haven, CT, brother Francis (Butch) and Jeannie Williams of East Burk, VT, sister Mary R. Lamont of Lyndonville, and sister-in-law Ester and Carrie Bourtell, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was predeceased by brothers Clarence Williams, Walter, Calvin, and Ernest Bourtell.
A graveside service will be held June 15, at 11:00 AM at Sheffield (Dexter) Cemetery. A gathering after the service will be held at Wheelock town hall. Family and friends are invited to attend.
Armand J. Young, Sr.
....show of Mud Hollow Road of Kirby, passed away Wednesday evening (August 8, 2012) at his home surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was 68.
Born on June 18, 1945, he grew up in Barton, VT. Armand was a graduate of Littleton High School in Littleton, NH and shortly thereafter, he enlisted in the US Navy, serving in Vietnam with the Seabees.
He was a well known Stone Mason in the Northeast Kingdom and was known for his stone fireplaces. He enjoyed his privacy and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He will be remembered as a person that would lend anyone a helping hand.
He is pre-deceased by his mother Dorothy Young, a brother Ray Young and sisters Laura Faust, Caroline Marsh, and Hazel Powers. He is survived by his longtime companion Karlene Humphrey,
