She will be sorely missed by her loving husband of 56 years, Stanley M. MacDonald, as well as her daughter Lin (late Colin), son Lyle (Larene), grandsons Mark (Caroline), Kevin (Marie), Alex (Jen), granddaughter Lisa, great-granddaughter Madison and great-grandson Ryan. Benita was predeceased by her brother Ralph, but will be missed by her brother David (Vivian). She also leaves to mourn numerous nieces and nephews, her sister-in-law and brother-in-law Janet and Eldon MacDonald, as well as many close friends. Benita was a long time resident of Ste. Catherine-de-Hatley, an employee of Champlain College for over 30 years before retiring, and well known for her vegetables and beautiful flowers at the North Hatley Farmer’s Market each summer. ....show - The passing of Harding Taylor Clark of St. Andrews occurred peacefully at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, N.B. after a long period of failing health. Harding was born in Derby Line, Vermont on May 16, 1935, the only child of the late John E. and Harriet A. Clark. At an early age, Harding and his parents moved to Massachusetts, and Harding attended school there, graduating from high school in Swampscott, Mass. Subsequently, he attended Tilton School in Tilton, NH. When his parents retired to St. Andrews, Harding joined them and spent the rest of his life there. He worked both in the United States and Canada and was employed at the Algonquin Hotel in St. Andrews as recreation director for a number of years. He was a member and Past Master of St. Mark’s Lodge, F & AM in St. St. Andrews, was a member and Past King Lion of the St. Andrews Lions Club and was involved in local sports. He is survived by one cousin, Elmer F. Greenleaf of Silver Springs, Maryland, USA and faithful friend Peter Mitchell of St. Andrews, who looked after his personal needs after his taking up residence in Passamaquoddy Lodge over 20 years ago. Special thanks are due to the staff of Passamaquoddy Lodge for the loving care Harding received as well as to the Charlotte County Hospital during his stay there. A Memorial Service will be held at Passamaquoddy Lodge, 230 Sophia Street, St. Andrews on Friday, November 2, 2:00 pm, with Canon John Matheson and Peter Mitchell officiating. He was the only son of James Doherty and Anna Turcotte. He came to live in Stanstead in his teen years and has resided there ever since. He started working at Charlie Crawford’s Garage and then Fournier’s Garage, until he fulfilled his dream of owning his own business on Dufferin Street. Gerry was by far the best mechanic in the Eastern Townships and customers came from miles away to have their car service by Gerry. He always looked forward to his two weeks vacation when he could take his family on camping trips. His favorite place to camp was Old Orchard Beach, ME. His family was always his main priority. Beloved husband of Gloria Sanschagrin and loving father of Gloriann Stevens of Newport VT, Larry (Ghislaine) from Stanstead, Guy of Newport VT and Jerry from Stanstead.
