, 98, of Barton and St. Petersburg, Florida, died on January 12, 2011, in St. Petersburg. She was born on August 23, 1912, in Earlville, New York. Mrs. Waller was a graduate of Syracuse University. Following retirement, she and her husband, Fletcher C. Waller, moved to St. Petersburg and Fish Creek, Wisconsin, where they summered until 1974. In that year they returned to the Northeast Kingdom, home of Mr. Waller's forebears including his father, Halle Templeton Waller, and uncles Percy Waller Templeton, and Chester and Arthur Waller, all of Irasburg. The Wallers were drawn back to the area by fond memories of making the rounds with Dr. Percy Templeton and, in Mr. Waller's case, being taught to fish by "Pa" Beauclerk on May Pond. The Wallers bought acreage from Anatole Duquette with help from realtor Paul Doyle and enjoyed the property on Doyle Lane together until Mr. Waller's death in 1983 in Barton just prior to the couple's fiftieth wedding anniversary. Over the years they created a "paradise" of their own design and benefited from the excellent local craftsmen and builders who helped realize their dreams. Mrs. Waller continued to summer there and was a Friday volunteer with the public library until 2009 and played Wednesday bridge at the Orleans Country Club. The last of her generation, Mrs. Waller is survived by her children: Fletcher C. Waller of Seattle, Washington, Carol Youmans of Annapolis, Maryland, and Adrien W. Helm of Saint Petersburg; their spouses; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild, as well as four nephews and their families. A summer memorial gathering and interment in the family plot in Irasburg is being planned. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to the Barton Public Library.
