, 23, of Morgan died suddenly on September 26, 2010, in Lebanon, New Hampshire. He was born on March 14, 1987, in Beverly, Massachusetts, a son of Toni Benjamin. Mr. Benjamin worked for Jack Degre Construction. He enjoyed almost any type of outdoor sports including four-wheeling, snowmobiling, hunting, and fishing. He was a happy-go-lucky guy who made friends easily. He was willing to lend a helping hand and easily brought a smile to those he came in contact with. He will be deeply missed by his loving family and friends. He is survived by his mother, Toni Benjamin; his father, David Guillette, of Derby; his maternal grandfather Harold Benjamin Sr.; paternal grandmother Lucille Guillette; stepbrother Andrew Guillette; stepsister Amanda Guillette; by several aunts, uncles, cousins; and by his girlfiend, Cari Crawford. He is also survived by his dogs, Nikema, Burrus, and Baxter, and by a cat Zoey. He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother Bettie "Nannie" Benjamin; his cousin Benjamin Martin; paternal grandfather John Guillette; uncle Jackie Guillette; and maternal great-grandparents Donald and Gwen Benjamin. Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, September 29, at the Curtis-Britch-Converse-Rushford Funeral Home at 4670 Darling Hill Road in Newport where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 30, with the Reverend Richard Whitehill officiating. , 59, a lifelong resident of Wolcott, died in the loving care of his family and friends at his home on Tuesday, September 21. Mr. Brown was born September 19, 1951, in Hardwick, a son of Philip Brown and the late Pauline Lamare Brown. He married Gina Mazzitelli on October 3, 1970, in Morrisville, and together they made their home in North Wolcott. He was an equipment operator for many firms in the area and was a self-employed excavator operator, logger and did some carpentry. He had a passion for fishing, hunting, and a good game of poker. His family was his greatest accomplishment in life, and his grandsons always brought a smile to his face and put a twinkle in his eye. Unknowingly, he taught that nothing is more important in life than family and friends and how to take care of each other. He leaves behind his wife, Gina; a son Shane and his wife, Tammy; grandsons Joshua and Matthew; his dad, Phil Brown, all of Wolcott; sisters Linda Willey of Wolcott, and her friend, Stan, and Beverly Chaffee and her husband, Sherm, of Barre; his father-in-law, Robert VanOrnum Sr. and his wife, Linda, of Ocala, Florida; sisters-in-law Lisa Mazzitelli of Barre and her fiance, Charles Alfano, of Highland, New York, Marybeth Perry of Hardwick, Bonnie Van Ornum of Newark, New Jersey, and Ann Brown of Springfield; brother-in-law Bobby VanOrnum and his wife, Sharon, of Jericho; uncle and aunt Alan and Tweed Maskell of North Wolcott; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and other extended family. He will be dearly missed by his "garage buddies." , a former resident of Barton, died in Brattleboro, on September 12, 2010, following a long illness. She was born May 11, 1927, in Brooklyn, New York, a daughter of James and Ruby Thomas Lott. She graduated in 1945 from Fort Hamilton High School. That same year she married Justus J. DeVries, her high school sweetheart. In 1969, the DeVries family moved from Wilton, Connecticut, to Dorset. After her husband's death in April 1976, Mrs. DeVries traveled widely. She lived in several towns across New England, including Barton from 1996 to 2002, before moving to Brattleboro in 2007. Mrs. DeVries' loving and supportive family includes her four children: Lou Nelsen of Dummerston; Nancy DeVries of Barton, Justus DeVries Jr. of the Middlebury area, and Andrew DeVries of Dorset; their respective spouses Paul Nelsen, Colin Nickerson, fiancee Lynn Heffelfinger, and Amy Thebault; grandchildren Corin Nelsen and his wife, Michaella Warryn, Jessie Nelsen and her husband, P.J. Nelson, Westley DeVries, Torin DeVries, Chelsea DeVries, Trevor DeVries, and Sawyer DeVries; her great-grandaughter Zoe Nelsen; her sister Elizabeth Donnellan; her brother James Lott Jr.; and her brother-in-law Roy DeVries. A sister Ruby Tucker predeceased her. Mrs. DeVries' extended family includes many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was an enthusiast, a person who pursued her interests with zeal and vigor. Among her passions were hand weaving, quilting, long-distance bicycling, swimming, yoga, baking, and gardening. She belonged to the Dorset Garden Club, worked as a Hospice volunteer, a Girl Scout leader and deaconess. Her generosity towards her family and community extended to her support of many organizations, including the Long Trail School in Dorset, Hospice, Planned Parenthood, and various colleges and cultural organizations. She was a member of the United Church of Dorset and East Rupert. The family celebrated Mrs. DeVries' life at a memorial service at the United Church in Dorset on September 18. , 81, of Derby Line died on September 19, 2010, at her home in Derby Line. She was born August 24, 1929, in Island Pond, a daughter of Romeo and Bernadine (Davis) Fortin. On April 6, 1947, she married Lawrence MacLeod who predeceased her on February 1, 2003. Mrs. MacLeod is survived by her children: Linda MacLeod of Florida, Shirley Sumner and her husband, Bill, of Derby, Deborah Stratton and her husband, Wayne, of Stanstead, Quebec, and Scott MacLeod of Saratoga, New York; by 11 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one sister and one brother. She graduated from Barton Academy in Barton. Mrs. Sanford worked in the cafeteria for the Granby School for 30 years. She liked to play bingo and garden and go to Foxwoods. She was a former deaconess at the Church of Christ Conregational in Granby. She was predeceased by five brothers: Robert, John, George, Armand, and Lionel; and one sister, Rita. She is survived by her husband, Reginald Sanford; her daughters Patricia Sullivan of Belchertown, Massachusetts; her grandchildren Linsey and Brett Sullivan; sisters Jackie Kennison and her husband, John, of Barton, and Maria Dickie of Maine; and several nieces and nephews. , 65, of Salem, New Hampshire, died on Sunday, September 19, at his home, surrounded by his family, after a brave battle with cancer. Mr. Baxter was born and educated in Vermont. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a heavy equipment operator and worked for George Merrill and Son, Inc., in Salem for 41 years. He was a member of the VFW Post #8546 of Salem. He enjoyed spending time with his family at Crystal Lake in Vermont. He also enjoyed hunting, boating and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Pica) Baxter of Salem; his daughter Kerri and her husband, Scott Wilde, of Derry, New Hampshire; his brother Wayland Baxter of Glover; his sister Sharon Bickford of Barton; by three grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Dawson, and Savanna Wilde; and by two nieces, Stephanie and Regina. , 73, of Derby, beloved husband of Joanne, died unexpectedly at his home, in his sleep, on September 17, 2010. He was born in Norwalk, Connecticut, a son of Francis and Mary (Marushak) Bennett. He lived his life helping others through his vast knowledge of trucking and mechanics. Mr. Bennett, known as "Bud" to all his friends, was retired and spent many days puttering at home doing odd jobs around the house. He was a lifelong member of the American Legion in North Troy and was a member of the Teamsters Association. Mr. Bennett loved to drive the "big trucks" and spent most of his life traveling up and down the highways and byways. He worked at his father's company, Bennett Petroleum Transportation in Wilton, Connecticut. After leaving Connecticut and moving to Vermont, for many years he owned a garage in Lowell and then in North Troy. He ended his trucking career at Ethan Allen. Mr. Bennett always tried to put his family first. He was a husband, father, and his most rewarding job, grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Joanne (Atwood); his daughter Penni Pomeroy and her husband, Ted, from Sagamore Beach, Massachusetts; his son Michael and his wife, Cathy, of West Charleston; daughter Patricia from Derby. His grandchildren Brandon, Amanda, Abby, Brian, and Sarah will miss him and have fond memories of their grandfather. He also leaves behind his family in Connecticut and California. He was predeceased by his parents. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 23, at the Derby Center Cemetery. , 71, of North Troy, the beloved husband of Gloria, died peacefully at his home on September 12, 2010, with his family at his side. Mr. Choquette was a self-employed master carpenter and was very well known for his extreme quality workmanship for over 40 years. He was a lifetime member of the Elks Club #2155. In his early years, he was a member and assistant chief of the North Troy Fire Department. Until recently, he was an avid snowmobiler and received numerous awards for his dedicated service to the local trail system. Among these were the VAST state "Project of the Year" award for "The Trail to the Stars," a scenic trail in the Jay/Richford mountain area that is enjoyed by many riders. He enjoyed many travels and vacations with his wife, and took pleasure in fishing, hunting and working in his showpiece vegetable garden. Mr. Choquette was a giving, caring and loving husband, father and grandfather who is survived by his wife of 50 years, Gloria (White); son Rand, and his wife, Cris, of North Troy; daughter Wendy of North Troy; granddaughter Monica, also known as "my favorite granddaughter"; grandson Bryan; the following siblings: Pauline of Derby Line, Omer and his wife, Rita, of Derby, Lucille Cadieux and her husband, Robert, of North Troy, and Richard and his wife, Darlene, of Troy; and by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and brother-in-law Oliver. A Mass was celebrated on September 18 with the Reverend Henry Mlinganisa officiating. , 17, of Newport died suddenly on September 18, 2010, in Newport. He was born on April 3, 1993, at North Country Hospital in Newport where his grandmother Nancy has worked for 20 years. He was the beloved son of Stephanie Goss and Darrin Corkins. Eli was a senior at United Christian Academy (UCA) in Newport where he attended school for eight years. He was a member of the soccer and basketball teams and loved by his peers at UCA. He was truly "raised Jay," skiing his favorite mountain since he was three years old. His mother worked there for 18 years. He split his winters between skiing Jay and ice fishing on Lake Seymour with a close "crew" of friends. He loved everything outdoors and would lend a hand with any family or farm in need. On any given day, spring or summer, he would make his farm chore rounds before catching up with the "crew" at the Lake Seymour beach. Eli had a gift of brightening any room he walked into with a dynamic smile and a joke, always willing to lend a helping hand. He was also blessed to blend his time between his school friends and farm friends. He is survived by his mother, Stephanie Goss, of Newport; his father, Darrin Corkins, of Newport; maternal grandmother Nancy Goss of Newport; paternal grandmother Dorothy Corkins of Newport; by his twin sister Ivy J. Goss of Newport; his other sisters Ashley and Brittney Corkins, both of Newport; his aunt Alyssa Delabruere of Newport; uncle Chris and aunt Brenda Goss of Stowe; and uncle Scott and aunt Jill Goss of Clarkston, Michigan. Eli's seven surving cousins, Jon, Chris and Amy Delabruere of Newport, Jasper and Ruby Goss of Stowe, and Molly and Joey Goss of Clarkston, will miss him dearly every day of their lives. Also surviving are numerous aunts, uncles and cousins of the Corkins family who will miss Eli and the energy he brought to their family camp in Glover and the annual family reunion. , 88, died September 5, 2010, at Maple Lane Nursing Home in Barton. She was born on June 8, 1922, in Brooklyn, New York, a daughter of Eva Louise Matheson and Michael Fagan. She attended Atlantic Union College Nursing Program in South Lancaster, Massachusetts, and became a nurse like her mother. She married Saul E. Greenman in September of 1943 and lived on the U.S. Naval Station in Key West, Florida, until the end of World War II. They then moved to New York City where she had two children, Brenda Louise and Kenneth Michael. She worked many years as a hospital nurse and retired from the New England Memorial Hospital in Stoneham, Massachusetts, at the age of 62. Mrs. Greenman continued as a volunteer in the hospital auxiliary and in her neighborhood health outreach clinics for seniors. She loved bus trips all over New England and activities with her friends. She enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren's company. She is survived by her children, Kenneth and his wife, Nancy, of Highland, New York, and Brenda and her husband, Gabe, of Albany; by grandchildren Michael, Marie, and Joel and his wife, Andrea; her great-grandchildren Mia Louise and Landyn Jonathan; several dear cousins who she grew up with and considered as brothers and sisters: James, Charles and Ethyle; her step-grandchildren Michael and Cara; and step-great-grandchildren Brandon and Brenna. She was predeceased by her former husband, Saul, in December of 2000. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 16, at the Albany Methodist Church in Albany. Burial will follow in the Newport Center Cemetery.

, 58, died on Friday, September 17, at her home in Hartland surrounded by her family. She was born January 23, 1952, in Coaticook, Quebec, a daughter of Paul S. and Mona (Riendeau) Molloy. After graduating from Canaan Memorial High School, she worked as a telephone operator in Canada and later assisted her father in operating the Norton Country Store. She also worked for a time as a teacher's aide at St. Albert's School in West Stewartstown, New Hampshire. Mrs. Hood was proud to be the first female certified logger in the state of Vermont, as she operated the family logging business after her first husband's death. She was a dedicated citizen of Norton and enjoyed serving her community in many ways, including volunteering at the Norton Village School and serving on the Norton School Board. In recent years, she loved spending winters with her husband in Fort Myers, Florida. She was predeceased by her parents, her first husband, Gaetan Thibault, and her West Highland Terrier Shamrock. She is survived by her husband, Lee Hood, of Hartland; a son Steve Thibault and his wife, Kyla, of Norton; a daughter Josee Riendeau and her husband, Marc, of Goffstown, New Hampshire; stepsons Todd Hood and his wife, Michele, of Hartland and Darrell Hood of Windsor; five grandchildren; and a sister Shirley Flores and her husband, John, of Waldorf, Maryland. A Mass was celebrated September 21 at 1 p.m at St. Bernard's Church in Norton with burial in St. Bernard's Cemetery. , 82, husband of the late Betty (Garrick) LaBounty, died on September 14, 2010, at MidState Medical Center. He was born in Barton, a son of the late Francis LaBounty and Myrtie LaBounty Beaulieu. He had lived in Meriden, Connecticut, for the past 46 years. He was a graduate of Barton Academy and was employed by C.S. Margison Co. of Hartford for many years. He was a peacetime veteran, having served with the U.S. Navy. He loved to attend his grandchildren's sporting events and activities. He is survived by a daughter Debra Virgulto and her husband, Mark, of Meriden; a son Robert F. LaBounty Jr. of Meriden; eight grandchildren: Paul, Joshua, Ashley, Mark, Brittany, Brianna, Arielle, and Jordan Virgulto of Meriden; three sisters Rachel Daigle and her husband, Ronald, of Granville, New York, Marion Griffin and Beverly LaBounty, both of West Glover; an aunt Ruth LaPlante of Farmington, Connecticut; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. He was predeceased by three brothers, Kenneth, Richard and Raymond LaBounty, and two sisters, Dorothy Morgan and Pauline Shafer. The funeral was held on September 18 at the John J. , 101, died on Saturday, September 18, 2010, at home in Jay with her loving family by her side. She was formerly of Montvale, New Jersey. Mrs. McDermut was born December 6, 1909, in New York City, the oldest of six children born to Giovanni and Marie Antoinette Rinaldi. She grew up in Cliffside Park, New Jersey. After graduating from Richmond Business College, she worked at McFadden Publishing Company in New York City. She married Whitney B. McDermut, her beloved, on August 25, 1937. He predeceased her on December 10, 2000. The early part of her married life was devoted to raising her family which she excelled at. She was a stylish lady with a natural gift for decorating. She also assisted her husband in the family business. She volunteered with numerous organizations. She was president of the Pascack Valley High School Parent and Teachers Association, served on the Girl Scout Council of Bergen City, New Jersey, and on the Jamie Shulman Foundation, and she delivered meals on wheels into her late seventies. She was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne at St. Vincent de Paul Church of North Troy. She was blessed with a generous heart. She is survived by two children, Whitney B. McDermut Jr. of Bombay, New York, and Irene McDermut of Jay; by granddaughters Heather Lee Moretti and her husband, Lawrence, and Tracy Lynn Pacio of California; by grandson Whitney B. McDermut III and great-granddaughter Sydney Moretti also of California; by one sister Marie Josephine Ford of Rhode Island; and by many nieces and nephews. Mrs. McDermut is also survived by, and will be deeply missed by, many friends in the area who have come to love this wonderful lady. She will be especially missed by her "special daughter" Jeannie Lawson, who cannot be thanked enough for her kindness and loving care over the last several weeks and for the time spent with her over the many years since she moved to the Jay area. She was predeceased by three brothers: John, Joseph, and Patrick Rinaldi, and by one sister Alvira Capuzzi. Funeral services were held September 21 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in North Troy with the Reverend Henry Mlinganisa celebrating a Mass. He retired from the U.S. Navy in 1975 as an SK-2. At one time, Mr. Rowland was also employed at Ethan Allen Manufacturing, Bogner of America, and Rural Community Transportation. He held membership with the Order of the Elks #2155. He enjoyed playing bingo and stamp collecting. He is survived by his daughters: Lori Royer and her husband, Paul, of Newport and Julie Nelson and her husband, Michael, of Orleans; by four grandchildren: Andrea, Lisa, David and Danielle; and by numerous nieces and nephews. , 85, of Newport, beloved father and grandfather, died peacefully on September 18, 2010, in Newport. He was born on May 24, 1925, in Cahoes, New York, and grew up in Bass River, New Brunswick, Canada. He was the oldest son of Kenneth and Charlotte (Campbell) Warman. On April 21, 1963, he married Abbie Roberts who predeceased him on April 27, 2010. Mr. Warman was the director of Central Service for the New England Memorial Hospital in Stoneham, Massachusetts, from 1969 through 1986, at which time he retired. He and and his wife moved to Newport Center in 1989. Mr. Warman loved spending time with his wife and children and especially his grandchildren. He also loved his wife's good cooking. He enjoyed playing the omnichord and the guitar and listening to Appalachian folk and gospel music. Mr. and Mrs. Warman looked forward to traveling to Bass River each year to spend a week with Mr. Warman's cousin Jenny Ward and her family at their cottage and to visiting his family in town. During these trips, he loved to get together with his cousins to sing and play music. He was an inventor and a poet. He wrote a book of poetry entitled Springs of Memories. Church life was very important to him. He served as an elder of the Newport Seventh Day Adventist church for many years and was a dedicated Bible student. He was also an active board member for Voice in the Kingdom Radio, Inc. WJSY-LP, 96.1 FM, the low power radio station owned by his church. In recent years he broadcasted many radio spots on WJSY called "Just thinking in Newport." He is survived by his son James Warman and his wife, Michelle, of Newport Center; his daughter Donna (Warman) Luna and her husband, Jose, of Milford, New Hampshire; by five beloved grandchildren: Nathan, and Kaitlyn Warman, and Lindsey, Jose, and Isabel Luna; by two brothers, Gordon Warman and his wife, Joanne, of Bradenton, Florida, and Alvin Warman of Burnt River, Ontario; by three brothers-in-law, Al Overbye of Elk River, Minnesota, and Alfred (Bud) Roberts and his wife, Edna, of South Lancaster, Massachusetts, and Pastor William Dudgeon of Buchanan, Michigan. He was predeceased by his brother Gerald Warman in January 1999 and by his sister Doris (Warman) Overbye in February 2010. , 90, a lifetime resident of Glover, died Friday evening, September 17, 2010, at the Union House Nursing Home in Glover. Mrs. Young was born in Glover on Cook Hill (now Perron Hill) on January 8, 1920, a daughter of G. Tracy and Blanche (Paquette) Cook. She attended graded school in Glover, graduated from Barton Academy, then attended UVM one year, followed by a year at Lyndon Teachers College where she obtained her teaching certificate. In 1941, she taught four students at the Beach School in West Glover. In 1942, she married Robert "Robbie" L. Young and together they operated a dairy farm in the Andersonville section of West Glover. They were married 54 years, until his death in 1996. Her faith and spiritual family at the East Craftsbury Presbyterian Church were important to her, and she was a member there for more than 65 years. She especially loved spending time with her family. All were accepted and loved for who they are without judgment or advice. With some help from family and friends, Home Health, and Meals on Wheels, she was able to live alone in her home until February of this year. Even at the nursing home she remained interested in all that was happening in the lives of her family and friends, the farm, and neighborhood. Mrs. Young was a lover of nature. As long as she was able, she enjoyed early morning bird walks, and became an expert in their calls and identification. Over the years, one of the things that gave her the greatest pleasure was feeding her birds and watching them from inside her home. She learned to read before starting school at age five, and had a lifelong love of books and reading. In later years she spent many happy hours listening to books on tape. She also enjoyed classical music. She is survived by her four children: James Young and his wife, Patricia, of West Glover, Jeannine Young of West Glover, Margaret Brewster and her husband, Ray, of Interlaken, New York, and Robert "Ted" Young and his wife, Rebecca, of West Glover; by ten grandchildren: Edwin Young and his friend, Sarah Russell, Beth Young, Tracey Young and her friend, Gustavo La Grave, Sam Young and his friend, Darcy Gagne, Lisa Feltner and her husband, Richard, Carla Lackey and her husband, Paul, Seth Brewster and his wife, Carman, Sarah Young-Xu and her husband, Yinong, Tello Young and his wife, Rebecca, and Joshua Young and his wife, Sandra; by three step-grandchildren: Kathryn Carberry and her husband, John, Fletcher Christiansen and his wife, Amy, and Hans Christensen and his wife, Mary; by 13 great-grandchildren; by two step-great-grandchildren; and by nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert, a grandson, Timothy Young, and her brothers, Vernon and David Cook. There will be a memorial service at the East Craftsbury Presbyterian Church on Thursday, September 23, at 1 p.m. with the Reverend Dennis Hett officiating. , 83, of Island Pond died suddenly on September 10, 2010, in Newport. He was born on August 26, 1927, in New Haven, Connecticut, a son of Joseph Sr. and Mabel (Hayden) Badali. On June 12, 1948, he married Theresa Levenduski who survives him. Mr. Badali entered the U.S. Navy where he served his country during World War II. He owned and operated E.& F. Electric Company in Hamden, Connecticut. He held memberships with St. James Catholic Church of Island Pond, and the American Legion Post #80 of Island Pond. Among his hobbies he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and he loved being on the water and attending family gatherings. He is survived by his wife, Theresa Badali, of Island Pond; by his children: Ellen Wasilewski and her husband, Daniel, of Chester, Connecticut, Jane Davis and her husband, Wade, of Durham, Connecticut, Linda Lombardi and her husband, William, of North Haven, Connecticut, and Cheryl Badali and her fiance, Tyler Sabin, of Northfield; by nine grandchildren; and by seven great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother Joseph Badali Jr., and by his sister Elizabeth Brown. , 93, of Troy died peacefully on September 7, 2010, at her home. She was born December 18, 1916, in Dixville, Quebec, a daughter of Joseph and Bertha (Crete) Routhier. On September 23, 1937, she married Archie Coulombe who predeceased her. Mrs. Coulombe was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne, the senior bowling league of Missisquoi Manor, and the community center of Westfield on Wednesday mornings. She also enjoyed attending the Meeting Place. At one time, she drove school bus in Troy, and she baked at the former Sonnenhof Inn in Jay. She enjoyed bowling and scored a high single of 174 at the age of 93. She also enjoyed dancing, gardening, baking homemade bread and pies, and playing cards. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her nine children: Roger Coulombe and his wife, Blanche, of Essex Junction, Claudette Limoges and her husband, Art, of Troy, Susan Mismas and her husband, Leon, of Wallingford, Connecticut, Conrad Coulombe and his wife, Lise, of Colchester, Gerald Coulombe and his wife, Aileen, of Newport, Rena Abair and her husband, Michael, of Monument, Colorado, Patrick Coulombe and his wife, Peggy, of Jonesville, Cecile Coulombe Olden and her companion, Ron Wright, of Troy, and Mona Hartnett and her husband, Ed, of Houston, Texas; by 22 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; by the following brothers and sisters: Valmore Routhier of Florida, Bernard Routhier of Bloomfield, Maurice Routhier of Florida, Lucienne Lamoureaux of Ottawa, twin sister Marie-Ange Sage of Burlington, Madeline Routhier of Troy, and Rejeanne McAllister of Lowel She was predeceased by a son Leo Coulombe. , of Island Pond, formerly of West Charleston, died in Newport on Thursday, September 9, 2010. She was born on March 19, 1914, in East Charleston, a daughter of Earl and Arvilla (Lewis) Willis. She married Bernie Dane on June 22, 1933. Mrs. Dane spent most of her time raising her family. However, she did work several years at the Orleans County Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the Navy Grange and the Free Will Baptist Church of West Charleston, and more recently attended the Brighton Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and cooking. She was the recipient of the Lucy Smith Baking Award for four consecutive years at the Barton fair. She also enjoyed traveling with the Community Circle, and the ten winters she spent in Florida. Mrs. Dane loved her many friends at Sunrise Manor in Island Pond, the caring group of nurses and aides from the Visiting Nurses Association, and Dr. Robert Primeau and the staff at the Island Pond Health Clinic. She was also grateful for the wonderful care she received at the Bel-Aire Center. She is survived by her children: Clair Dane and his wife, Charlotte, of Morgan, Marjorie Judd of Derby, Caroline White of Stephentown, New York; Sandra Brown and her husband, Robert, of Beverly, Massachusetts, and Deana Hallock and her husband, Greg, of Middlesex; by 16 grandchildren; and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren; and by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son Earl; by sons in-law Alan White and Kenneth Judd; a brother; and two sisters. ,73, died on September 8, 2010, at her home in Glover. She was born in Upper Wards Creek, New Brunswick, on January 30, 1937. She moved to the U.S. in 1956 where she began to raise her children. She married Russell Darling on March 6, 1965, and moved to Glover in 1969. Mrs. Darling worked for many years at the Candlepin restaurant in Barton before returning to work on the Darling farm on Dexter Mountain until she retired due to ill health. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed knitting, embroidering, and making cookies with Abigail. She loved going to Florida in the winter in her RV and returning to Vermont in the summer for the horse and pony pulls at the Barton fair every August. , 59, also known as Chief Working Beaver, died on September 4, 2010, at his home in Island Pond surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 25, 1951, in Keene, New Hampshire . He entered the U.S. Army where he was stationed in Korea during the Vietnam War. Mr. Garfield was a supervisor for Site Tech, Inc, Heavy Equipment Operations in Prospect, Connecticut. He was an active member and chief of the Clan of Bear and a past member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He enjoyed carving and woodworking in Native American arts, and he was a wonderful husband, father and friend. He is survived by his wife, Lorna Garfield, of Island Pond; his four children: SFC John W. Garfield Jr. and his wife, Michela, of Kentucky, Billie-Jo Picard and her husband, Alan, of Island Pond, Sherrie-Shantel Testa and her husband, Nick, of Connecticut, and Mikey Garfield of Island Pond; by six grandchildren: Scott, Savanna, Lars, Cheyenne, Robert, and Kayla. , 54, of Newport, a longtime insurance agent and agency principal, died on Friday, September 10, 2010, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire, surrounded by his son Justin, two of his best friends, and his beloved girlfriend, Sarah. He was born November 18, 1955, a son of Richard F. and Florence (Hawkins) Kipp. He was raised in Orleans and was a 1973 graduate of Lake Region Union High School. He received a business degree from Champlain College and joined the family insurance agency, which was started in 1928 by his grandfather Archie Kipp. He later was a co-owner with his brother Steve until the sale of the agency in 2002. In 1998, he received an award as an outstanding agent from the state Insurance Agents Association. Mr. Kipp loved sports. He played basketball at Lake Region and had been a coach for the girls junior varsity basketball and soccer teams and his son's Junior Hoop basketball team for three years. He also was instrumental in starting the Orleans area youth soccer league. He enjoyed fishing, especially ice and lake fishing at Willoughby Lake, hunting and golfing. He was an avid Yankees fan. He enjoyed sugarmaking and vegetable and flower gardening. Mr. Kipp was known as a very grateful person, expressing sincere gratitude to all who had done anything for him. He served Barton for a time as a school board member and also had been an emergency medical technician on the Barton Rescue Squad, as well as a previous officer. He was a dedicated, loving and giving father and was greatly saddened by the death of his daughter Brooke in her seventeenth year. Mr. Kipp leaves his mother, Florence "Sally" Kipp, of the Greensboro Nursing Home; his son Justin Kipp of Hanover; a brother Steven Kipp of Daytona Beach, Florida, and Irasburg; a sister Martha Lanham and her husband, Paul, of Enola, Pennsylvania; his girlfriend, Sarah Carpenter, of Newport; a niece Greta Kipp of Irasburg; three nephews: John Kipp of Orleans, Trevor Lanham of Monterey, California, and Kipp Lanham of Washington, D.C.; an aunt Betty Thurber of Middlebury; as well as extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Richard Kipp, on March 2, 1988; and his beloved daughter, Brooke, on March 2, 1998. A memorial service will be held, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 18, at the Pleasant View Cemetery in Orleans with Pastor David Lisner officiating. , 86, of St. Albans, formerly of Newport, died on September 7, 2010, in Burlington after a short illness. She was able to remain until her son Mark returned from Afghanistan. She was born May 6, 1924, in Fairfield, a daughter of Benjamin and Iva Pearl (Boomhower) Teague. She graduated in 1942 from Cathedral High School. Prior to her marriage, she was employed by Bell Telephone. She married Carlton F. Lemnah of Fairfield on October 5, 1950. She and her late husband moved to Newport in 1959, and she became very active within the community. She was a longtime 4-H leader and taught sewing to many young 4-H youngsters. Many a local member will have fond memories of the lessons they learned. She is survived by her children: Thomas Lemnah of St. Albans, Mark Lemnah and his wife, Francine, of Westford, Carla Lemnah-Warner and her husband, James, of Westfield, Massachusetts, Judith Hayes and her husband, C. Steven, of Fairfax; by her grandson Derrick Lemnah and his son Stewart John Lemnah, along with Derrick's partner, Melanie Bouchard, and her daughters Abbie and Madison; by granddaughter Renee Welchman and her husband, Kyle, and their daughter Emma; by granddaughter Katie Warner and her friend Eric McCutcheon of Westfield, Massachusetts, and Emily Warner of South Woodbury and her friend Ben Roy; by her granddaughers Mattie and Morgan Hayes of Fairfax and Jeffersonville; by her grandson Dustin Hayes of Fairfax; by her sisters: Elizabeth Hatch of Belfast, Maine, and Ann Hale of East Hartford, Connecticut; by close sisters-in-law Polly Cosgrove, Rosalie Teague, Marion Reynolds, and Ruth Lemnah; by her brother- and sister-in-law Harold and Marlene Lemnah; and by many nieces and nephews. She was known for her generosity and kindness, but most especially for her love. , 11 months old, died at his home in North Troy on August 31, 2010, after a long battle with Krabbe disease. He was surrounded by his loving family. Hunter loved being outside listening to the birds and to music. He loved being held and cuddled. He was born September 18, 2009, in Newport, a beloved son of Meagan Blake and Jeremy Brown. On January 21, 1963, she married Roland Blanchard Sr. who survives her. Mrs. Blanchard was a pharmaceutical inspector for Mylan Tech, and at one time she was employed by Kinney Drugs in St. Albans and Ethan Allen Manufacturing. She graduated from Vergennes Academy in Vergennes. Her hobbies included playing bingo, going to the senior center, shopping, and spending time with her grandchildren.
