LANCASTER, NH - Charles T. Allin Jr.
....show , 89, died December 29, 2010, at Weeks Medical Center, after a three week battle with pneumonia.
Mr. Allin was born in Lancaster on August 22, 1921, the first of three sons of Charles T. Allin Sr. and Madelyn (Gray) Allin.
He was raised in Groveton and attended Groveton Schools. He worked for 35 years at the Groveton Paper Mill retiring in 1983.
On December 19,1940 he married Harriet Connary of Lancaster. Although he was hospitalized Charles and Harriet celebrated their 70th
wedding anniversary together with family last week.
Since 1957 Charles and his family have spent their summers at their camp on Maidstone Lake, which came to be known as “Allin’s Alley”. He was a lifetime member of the Loyal Order of Moose in Groveton.
He leaves his loving wife Harriet; his daughter Charlotte Naves and her husband Allen of Jefferson; 7 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law Barbara Samson Allin of North Carolina. He was predeceased by, his son Bruce Allin in 1982 and two brothers Merle Allin and Stuart Allin.
At Charles’ request there will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held in the spring in the Summer Street Cemetery.

LITTLETON – Archie C. Collins
....show , 94, formerly of Lancaster, died at his home December 22, 2010.
Mr. Collins was born in Lancaster on November 25, 1916, the son of Archie P. and Blanche (Kimball) Collins.
Archie served in the US Army during WWII and worked as an automotive technician for the Postal Service in Hartford, CT. He enjoyed fishing and the Boston Red Sox, never missing a game, and he volunteered at local churches and food pantries. Spending time with his family was his greatest enjoyment.
He was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons.
Family members include his wife Hazella (Smith) Collins of Littleton, they would have been married 67 years on December 31
st; three children, Roger Collins and his wife Linda of Bethlehem; Judy Delaney and husband John of Florida; Ronald Collins of Washington State; a granddaughter Tracy Dunn of Vermont, Lori Dreyer and husband Daniel of Littleton, NH and great granddaughter Amanda Dreyer of Littleton, NH and 1 nephew. He was predeceased by, his brother Donald Collins.
A graveside service will be held in the spring in the Number Ten Cemetery, Lancaster.

LUNENBURG, VT - Emma R. Drown
....show , 85, passed away Tuesday morning December 21, 2010, at the Morrison Nursing Home in Whitefield.
Mrs. Drown Was born in Lyndonville, VT on September 15, 1925, a daughter of Andrew and Rosetta (Beck) Robinson.
Emma was raised in Lyndon and resided there most of her life. She married Harley L. Drown on May 6, 1947. They moved to the Gilman and Lunenburg area in the 1960’s. She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the Kent Nursing Home in Lancaster and as a Central Supply Tech. at the Littleton Hospital. She enjoyed crocheting and flower gardening.
Family members include a son Charles H. Drown and his wife Jennifer of Kentucky, a daughter Elaine D. Horsler and her husband Owen of Lunenburg, three sisters Evelyn Campbell of Passumpsic, VT, Thelma Nutting of Passumpsic, VT and Doris Leach of Wheelock, VT, 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren and her sister in-law Carol Robinson of Passumpsic, VT. She was predeceased by, her husband Harley in 1992, a son Timothy F. Drown, an infant daughter Christine, two brothers Earl E. Robinson and Clayton Robinson and a sister Leis Sheburn predeceased her.
Calling hours will be held Sunday December 26, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. The funeral will be held Monday morning at 11:00 at the funeral home. Burial will be held in the spring at the Lyndon Center Cemetery, Lyndon, VT.

LANCASTER, NH - Harrison Southworth
....show died unexpectedly at his home, on the evening of December 20, 2010 at the age of 63.
Harry was born on January 13, 1947 in Arlington, VA, to Herman and Carol (Treyz) Southworth, the third of four brothers. Much of his childhood was spent in State College, PA, as an avid boy scout, singer, and wrestler. He graduated from Franklin & Marshall College in 1968, earning a BS in Geology.
In 1969 he married Cynthia (Cid) Jeffery, and served in the US Army Reserves from 1969-1971. Harry and Cid started their family in State College, PA, where their 2 children Dana and Georgia were born, and where Harry worked and continued his studies at Penn State University. In 1977, they moved to Lancaster, NH, where Harry joined his brother Tom in the operation of the historic Garland Mill, which has evolved into a multi-generational family business Garland Mill Timberframes.
He enthusiastically shared his time, good cheer and talents, whether on stage with the Colonel Town Players, singing with the Jefferson Chorus and other groups, playing brass in the summer Town and Community bands, helping to organize the expansion of the Lancaster Town Library, or serving on numerous local committees and boards.
Harrison Southworth is survived by his wife of 41 years, Cid Southworth; his son Dana Southworth and wife Izabela and their two sons, David and Robert; his daughter Georgia Southworth and husband Wesley Hoffman and their two sons, Felix and Casper; his three brothers, Ed, Tom, and Doug Southworth, and their extended families.
Harry’s inherent joy and positive energy were cherished by his family and his friends. His patience and kindness have been a beacon for the large surrounding community. Memorial visiting hours will be held at Bailey Funeral Home, on Main Street in Lancaster, NH, on Thursday December 30

Mr. Tate was born in Moultonboro, NH on March 11, 1929 the only child of Charles and Shirley (Glidden) Tate.
Irving was raised in the Moultonboro and Meredith area. He served 20 years in the US Army and he was Veteran of WWII and Vietnam and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He has been a resident of Whitefield for 31 years. For a time he work as a mechanic for Paul Belanger’s Garage, delivered oil for Cray Oil Company and was a road agent for the Town of Whitefield.
His memberships include the Whitefield VFW Post 10675, Whitefield American Legion Post 41, the Shriners and Shriners Legion of Honor, North Star Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons.
Family members include his wife of 38 years Dorothy (Rolfe) Tate of Whitefield, four daughters, Michelle Tate of Ansonia, CT, Yvonne Roark of Nashville, TN, Desiree Brooks of Ansonia, CT, Danielle Demler of Bangor, PA, two step sons David Phelps of E. DALTON - Daniel E. Emerson

Mr. Emerson was born in Lancaster on July 18, 1948, a son of Everett Emerson Jr. and Dorothy (Rooney) Emerson Phillips.
Dan was raised in Lancaster and graduated from Lancaster Academy. He served 25 years in the US Navy and was a Vietnam veteran. During his service worked for the Public Work Center at the Norfolk Naval Base in Virginia. He moved to Dalton in 2001.
He tinkered on cars and kept himself busy with many projects, like refinishing furniture and taking care of his family property. He enjoyed camping and his animals and was also an avid racecar fan.
Dan was known for his dedication for volunteering his time to many organizations such as Poppy Drives and Toys For Tots.
Memberships include the John Weeks VFW Post 3041, Lancaster, the Military Order of the Cooties and the Fredonwarell American Legion Post 17, Groveton.
He is survived by, a son Robert Fountain of Dalton and his three children, Tina Heard, Jeana Morse and Kathleen Fountain and Robert’s wife Cathleen of Dalton and her three children. A daughter Susan Williams and her husband David Sr. of Dalton and their four children, David Williams Jr., Matthew Williams, Emmalee Williams and Kristin Williams and 9 great grand children, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. His wife Jean (McGinty) Emerson and two brothers Raymond Emerson and Charles Emerson predeceased him.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday morning at 11:00 AM at the Christ United Methodist Church of Lancaster. STRATFORD - James Stone
....show , 74, of McMann Road, died Friday afternoon, December 10, 2010, after a long illness. He was surrounded by his loving family at his daughter’s home in Lancaster.
Mr. Stone was born in Stratford, NH, on April 7, 1936, the son of Frank Omega and Isabelle (Sargent) Stone.
A longtime logger and woodsman he was a real outdoorsman. He loved fishing and hunting, especially bear hunting with his bear hounds. Jim enjoyed cooking and was well known for his delicious apple pie, doughnuts, venison stew, biscuits and homemade rolls. He enjoyed riding his “big blue four wheeler” out in the bog.
His deepest passion was staying up to his log cabin with his family and friends. He will be truly missed by his family and friends that knew him. There is a saying, “All that really matters in the end is that you were loved,” and Jimmy truly was.
Family members include the love of his life for 37 years, wife Dorothy Losier Hanson Stone of Stratford; four sons, Michael Stone, David Stone, and Bradley Stone all of Stratford, Brian Stone and his girlfriend Tammy of Bloomfield, VT; a daughter Jana Stone Whitney and her husband Tom Whitney of Lancaster; two step-daughters, Lisa Willey and husband Jeff Willey of Shelburne, Melissa Hanson and partner Kimberly Phillips of Lancaster; 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; he was known as “Poppy” to his special ten year old grandson Trae Whitney who will miss him dearly; a brother Samuel Stone amd wife Carlene of Stratford; a half sister Ellie; several nieces and nephews, including a special nephew Josh Stone; and friends. He was predeceased by a son Jeremy Stone and five brothers.
There will be a celebration of his life on Thursday December 16, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Jana’s home, 113 Portland Street, Lancaster.

....show , 42, died unexpectedly in his sleep, on Saturday morning, December 4, 2010 at his home.
Mr. Plant was born on April 4, 1968 in Littleton a son of Walter and Jewel (Ceeley) Plant Sr.
Walter was raised in Littleton and attended school there. For a time he worked in the woods with his father and also worked for several years as a farmer for the Howard Farm and the Nelson Farm.
He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping. He also enjoyed his pet snakes, iguana and dogs and especially spending time with his nephews.
Family members include his father Walter of Monroe and his mother Jewel and her husband Elmer Paquette Sr. of Littleton, his wife Arlene (Allen) Plant of Canterbury, CT, his longtime companion Tammy Crawford of Lunenburg, seven children, Nathan, Amanda, Kari, Eric, Christian, Brent and Shy-Anna, two brothers, Herbie Plant of Littleton and Elmer Paquette Jr., two sisters Judy Hopkins of Littleton and Frances Ovalton of Whitefield and many nieces and nephews.

GROVETON - Ronald E. Holden

Mr. Holden was born in Lancaster on July 8, 1923 a son of Horace E. and Annie (Freeman) Holden.
Ronald was raised in Groveton and from a young age he worked on his family farm. On August 31, 1951 he married Jean Beach. For a time he lived in Avanel and Newark, NJ where he worked as a foreman at a paper company. He also lived for a time in Walpole, MA. In 1960 he returned to New Hampshire and went to work for the State Hospital in the maintenance department and later for the NH Highway Department in the sign division. He then returned to farming until 1995 when he sold his farm to his sons. For the last 10 years he was a driver for Medicaid Patients.
Family members include two sons, John Holden of Groveton and Robert Holden of Gilbert, AZ, two grandchildren, Jennifer Holden of Lunenburg, VT and David Holden of Lancaster, two brothers, Russell Holden of Lehighton, PA and Kent Holden of Heuvelton, NY, two sisters Florence Berube of Groveton and Sylvia H. Stone of Groveton and several nieces and nephews. His wife Jean and 9 brothers and sisters predeceased him.
Calling hours will be held Thursday December 2, 2010 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Mt. View Baptist Church, Route 3 South, Lancaster. A funeral service will immediately follow at the church. Reverend Donald Williams, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be private.
Carolyn H. “Dani” Lunn
....show , of Whitefield, died Friday afternoon, November 26, 2010, after a battle with cancer. She went peacefully, in her home, surrounded by family and friends. She was 66 years old.
Dani was born in Lancaster, NH on October 20, 1944 to parents Dr. Robert “Doc” Hinkley and Mrs. Katherine (Savage) Hinkley, and was raised in Groveton. The captain of the cheerleading squad and a saxophonist for the concert band at Groveton High School, she later attended Ithaca College, where she was educated in physical therapy. In 1968, Dani married her high school sweetheart, and they started a family soon after. She thoroughly loved being an active part of her sons’ lives, taking on many roles, including Cub Scout den mother, spelling bee coach, math tutor, New Year’s Eve hostess, and avid “Sports Mom.” In addition to being both a full-time wife and mom, and the bookkeeper for her husband’s business, she began working as a teacher’s aide in 1982 in the Whitefield elementary school system, from which she retired in 2007. As a result, over the years, her “kids” that she came to love would include not only her own children, but their friends, and her students at school. She was defined by the delight she had in being a Mom.
Dani’s personal interests were many and memorable. In the spring and summer, she loved swimming in her pool and preparing cookouts for her family, “digging in the dirt” with her flowers, attending her sons’ baseball games, taking her beloved Maine beach vacations, camping with family and friends, and watching the annual family fireworks display. Year-round, Dani was an avid quilter and enjoyed the company of her pets, and those of her family and neighbors. Whether swimming with her in the pool or accompanying her on shopping trips, her friends meant the world to her. And, the joy of collectibles with which she adorned her home was a love that she inherited from her father.
Dani was predeceased by her parents in 2001. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Glenn Lunn, Jr. of Whitefield; a brother, Dr. William Hinkley of St. Louis, MO; two sons, Jeffrey Lunn of Nashua, and William Lunn of Mystic, CT; a daughter-in-law, Katie Jeffrey-Lunn of Mystic, CT; three nieces, Katy Hinkley of Wentzville, MO, and Kristen Parks and Jennifer Everleth, both of Groveton; and remaining family members.
The community is invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, December 1 from noon to 2 p.m. and again from 5 to 7 p.m. at Bailey Funeral Home in Lancaster. A brief service will be delivered at the end of the latter session. A springtime burial and public ceremony will occur on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at 1 p.m. at Park Street Cemetery in Whitefield.

GUILDHALL, VT – Garnet I. Ridgwell
....show , 93, died at her home Monday morning November 22, 2010, surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Ridgwell was born in Maidstone, VT, on May 15, 1917, the daughter of William H. and Mabel (Beecher) Hayes
Garnet was raised in Maidstone and moved to Guildhall, when she married Kenneth Ridgwell, where resided there for the rest of her life. During that time she was employed for many years as a secretary at Groveton Paper. She has also worked as the Deputy Clerk for Essex County and was the town treasurer of Guildhall for many years.
She was a longtime member of the Guildhall Community Church.
Other memberships include a longtime devotion to the Willena Benton Chapter #96 Order of the Eastern Star. She held many offices in her chapter and in 1982 she was the Worthy Grand Matron of the Grand Chapter of Vermont. At one time she was the Grand Representative from the State of Vermont to Saskatchewan. She was also an avid knitter.
Family members include two daughters, Arlene Morin and husband John of Lancaster, Helen Martin and husband Gerry of Guildhall; four grandchildren, Tiffany Benoit, Jason Matthews, Melissa Barney, Nicholas Martin; four great-grandchildren, Joshua Barney, Kaitlyn Barney, Madison Benoit, Spencer Martin; a great-great-grandchild Mya Barney; 3 nephews and cousins. Her husband Kenneth predeceased her.
Visiting hours will be held Tuesday afternoon, November 23, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A funeral service will be held Wednesday afternoon at 1:00 PM in the Guildhall Community Church. Rev. Brian was born in St. Johnsbury, VT, on January 5, 1964, the son of Willis and Lorraine (Hale) Danforth.
He was a longtime area resident, raised in the Concord, VT, where he graduated from Concord High School. For a few years from 1993 to 1998 he resided with his family in North Carolina. For most of his life he was a truck driver and has been employed with Larry Brown and Sherwood Brown of Granby, Quest Transportation in St. Johnsbury, and Perras Lumber Company, Northumberland. He also worked for a time with Shawn Morse Landscaping, Lunenburg.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman and he enjoyed NASCAR racing. During his years in North Carolina he was a member of a local race car team. Memberships include VFW Horseshoe League and various hunting clubs.
Family members include two daughters, Megan M. Danforth and her fiancé Scott of Lunenburg, Miranda L. Danforth of Lunenburg; his mother Lorraine Danforth of Lyndon; the mother of his children and wife for 23 years Karen Danforth of Lunenburg; a brother Tracy A. Danforth and wife Darlene of Lancaster; a sister Alicia M. Burnham and husband Sunday of Walden; nieces and nephews Christopher Burnham, Jessica Burnham, Melissa Roscher, Sarah Kenison, and 5 great-nieces and nephews. His father Willis Danforth predeceased him.

STEWARTSTOWN - The life of Justin L. Flanders
....show , 21, was cut short on November 2, 2010 in Pittsburg, NH.
Justin was born in Lancaster on November 30, 1988, a son of Jeffrey K. and Alberta C. (Buffington) Flanders.
He was a lifelong resident of Stewartstown and attended Pittsburg High School. For a time he worked at Dunkin Donuts in Colebrook and most recently at the Wilderness Restaurant as a prep cook. He was also looking forward to becoming a probation officer.
His most precious times were spent with his family and friends. He enjoyed fishing, back road riding with Scooby, going on adventures with his brother, spoiling his niece and nephews and he always loved to terrorize his sister. He had a big heart and always saw the good in people.
Family members include his parents Jeffrey and Alberta, a brother Jonathan Flanders and his companion Ashley, a sister Kasha Ramirez and her husband Eliseo all of Stewartstown, his niece and nephews, Dakota, Jazmyn and Hunter Flanders and Malik Ramirez, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. His paternal grandparents George and Lottie Flanders and maternal grandparents Elmer and Leora Buffington predeceased him.

LANCASTER, NH - Aloysius Eastman

Mr. Eastman was born in Jefferson, NH on June 3, 1919, a son of Richard And Alice (Henry) Eastman.
Aloysius served 22 years in the US Air Force and was a decorated veteran of WWII and the Korean Conflict serving in Japan, India, Korea and Hawaii as well as many stateside postings. After retiring from the military he worked for 20 years at Stinehour Press. He loved the Cub Scouts and was a Cub Master for 20 years and was a recipient of the Silver Beaver.
He was also an avid gardener and master firewood stacker.
He was an active member of the Christ United Methodist Church of Lancaster for many years.
Family members include a daughter Tracy Lang and her husband Elmer of Milan, two sons, Richard Eastman and his wife Sharon of W. Palm Beach, FL and Craig Eastman of Lancaster, four grand children Nicole and Nathan Eastman, David Lang and his wife Cindy of Milan and Douglas Lang also of Milan, four great grandchildren Jacob, Cassidy, Garret and Kyleigh. He was predeceased by his wife Verne (Hartford) Eastman, one brother and two sisters.

Mrs. Allin was born in Colebrook, NH, on February 25, 1943, the daughter of Floyd and Leona (Gould) Bacon.
She was a longtime resident of the North Country and worked several years as a cashier in Sullivan’s Drug Store. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, playing cards and her favorite video games Harvest Moon and Zelda.
Sharelle’s family include her children Johnny Gray, Donna Gray, Cheryl Hawkins, John Raymond (deceased), Nona Murphy, Barry Hall; Bobby Hall and those she took in and treated like her own; grandchildren, Desiree, Travis, Mariah, Ashlee, Jaline, John, Shayna, Sharelle, Mandy, Rainey, Myrna, Tricia, Curtis; twelve great-grandchildren with two on the way; brothers and sisters Faye Marley (deceased), Curtis Farrar, Linda Underwood, Cedric Farrar, Michael Farrar, Terry Farrar (deceased) Patrick Gould, Kelly Coco, Kathy Haynes, and Wendy Gould. She was predeceased by her husband Rainey Allin.

JEFFERSON, NH - Mary Elizabeth May Hotchkiss
....show , 61, died at her home Tuesday morning October 26, 2010.
Mrs. Hotchkiss was born in Arlesey, Bedfordshire, England, on September 23, 1949, the daughter of William and Joyce Edna Alice (Webb) Walker.
Mary moved to the United States at age 17 where she has resided most of her life. Many of those years she resided in Colchester and Madison, CT. She married Stuart W. Hotchkiss in 1996 and they moved to New Hampshire in 2003. For a time she worked in the clothing retail industry and for many years has been the office manager for Hotchkiss Construction Services, a company owned and operated by Stuart.
Mary enjoyed gardening, walking, travelling, reading, music, cooking, and making jam. She also enjoyed visiting with family and friends, drinking real tea, and festivities like Christmas. She loved animals especially her dogs, her cat, and Hereford cows. At her home she operated the Grumble Weed Farm Stand, a long time dream of hers. Her passion was sitting on her porch in the evening looking over her gardens and the grazing cattle.
Family members include her husband Stuart W. Hotchkiss of Jefferson; two sons, Christopher Annelli and Jason Annelli both of Colchester, CT; her father William Walker of England; three sisters, Deborah Hammond of Newport Pagnell, England, Sally Miller of South Sea, England, Jane Mason of Peterborough, England; a brother, John Walker of London, England; two grandchildren, twins Nicholas and Cyrus; many nieces and nephews.
There are no visiting hours. Services will be held at the convenience of the family.

LANCASTER, NH - Edward E. Rosebrook Sr.
....show , 82, died Tuesday evening October 12, 2010, at Country Village Genesis Elder Care.
Mr. Rosebrook was born in Lancaster on November 6, 1927, the son of Earl and Gladys (Silver) Rosebrook.
A lifetime resident of Lancaster he was a graduate of Lancaster Academy. He served with the US Air Force. He worked various jobs, working for Col. Town, the Town of Lancaster, AD Sanel and the Rialto Theater where he ran the movies.
Edward was an avid bowler and was a proud member of the Lancaster Bowling League, where he won several trophies. He enjoyed playing his guitar and singing.
He was a member of the Whitefield American Legion.
Family members include two sons, Edward “Midge” Rosebrook Jr. and wife Glynda of Lancaster and Michael Rosebrook and his wife Pierrette of Grand Falls, New Brunswick, a daughter Patricia A. Cotter and her husband Robert of Lancaster, four grandchildren, Patrick Rosebrook, Jennifer Rosebrook, Andrea Cotter and Michael Cotter, one great grandchildren Dylan Lambers. Three siblings predeceased him.
Visiting hours will be held Thursday evening October 14, from 6-8 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday morning at 11:00 AM at All Saints Catholic Church, Lancaster. Father Raymond Ball, pastor will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow in Summer Street Cemetery.

LANCASTER – Lillian Blodgett Clark
....show , 86, died October 7, 2010, at Palm Garden of Sun City Center, Florida.
Mrs. Clark was born in Groveton, NH, on November 21, 1923, the daughter of Haven S. and Flora (Barnett) Blodgett.
She was a long time resident of Lancaster and worked as a nurses aid at Weeks Hospital for 26 years. Lillian was very talented and enjoyed painting. She also enjoyed cooking and sewing. After retirement she and her husband Albert spent a few winters in Nevada and many winters in Florida.
She was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church, Lancaster, and a former Rebecca.
Family members include her husband of 55 years Albert M. Clark of Apollo Beach, FL; a daughter Linda B. Clark Collins and her husband Donald of Northumberland; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services will be held Saturday morning, October 30, at 11 :00 AM. At the Christ United Methodist Church, Lancaster. Reverend Ron Bruce, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in the Summer Street Cemetery.
LANCASTER, NH - Beverly A. Morin
....show , 80, died Thursday October 7, 2010, at Weeks Medical Center, Lancaster after a sudden illness.
Mrs. Morin was born in Lancaster, NH on March 28, 1930, a daughter of Milton and Edna (Whitney) Kiser.
Beverly was a lifetime resident of Lancaster. She and her late husband James owned and operated Whitney Motors for 11 years. She was also employed at the Lancaster Motel for 10 years and for a time at Foodtown. After retirement she work at North Country Ford in the summer and wintered in Paisley, Florida.
She was a member of the John W. Weeks VFW Post #3041 Ladies Auxiliary.
Family members include a son Gary Savage and wife Sharon of Jefferson, a daughter Sharon Welch and her husband John of Groveton; a sister Mary Kenison of Jefferson; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by, her husband, son Dennis Savage and a sister Marion Reynolds.
At Beverly’s request there are no visiting hours. A funeral service will be held Monday afternoon October 11, at 12:00 PM at the Christ United Methodist Church, Lancaster. Pastor, Reverend Ron Bruce will officiate. Burial will be Tuesday at 12:00 PM in the Calvary Cemetery, Lancaster.
LUNENBURG, VT - Armand R. Labbe
....show , 66, died Sunday morning October 3, 2010 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon.
Mr. Labbe was born in Nashua, NH on May 25, 1944, a son of Arthur and Blanche (Cote) Labbe.
He was a 1962 graduate of Nashua High School and married Lorette Sigouin on Sept. 5, 1964 at St. Francis Xavier Church in Nashua. They recently celebrated 46 years of marriage.
Armand was a licensed ham band radio operator and worked for Simpson Paper Co. in Gilman, VT retiring after 27 ½ years. He was a licensed minister through the United Christian Faith Ministries and Maranatha Ministries, for many years he ministered at the Northeast Correctional Facility in St. Johnsbury, VT. He raised pedigree-racing pigeons, was a member of the Champlain Valley Racers Club and received several first place trophies. He was an avid hunter and fisherman with a great passion for the outdoors. He was loved and will be greatly missed.
Family members include his wife Lorette Labbe of Lunenburg, 2 sons Patrick and Philip and a granddaughter Megan, 6 siblings Doris Gagnon of Leesburg, FL, Georgette Leveille and husband Robert of Laurel Hill, NC, Alice Landry of Nashua, NH, Lorraine Bariteau and husband Aime of Leesburg, FL, Lawrence Labbe and wife Ellen of Leesburg, FL and Rolande Suchocki and husband Edward (Nap) of Nashua, NH, many nieces and nephews. His parents and a brother Arthur (Pete) Labbe and a sister Irene Vien predeceased him.
At his request there are no calling hours. A memorial service will be held Saturday afternoon October 9, at 2:00 PM at the New Beginnings Christian Church in St. Johnsbury, VT. Pastor Richard D. Menard will officiate.

Jacqueline B. Nichols
....show , only daughter of Jack and Martha Miracle Bruce, was born in Harlan, Kentucky on October 14, 1941 and died at home in Lancaster on September 29, 2010.
Ms. Nichols grew up in Barstow, California, where she was a highly-honored student at Barstow High School, and received her B.A. in English from Wellesley College in 1963. That same year she married David E. Nichols, who died in 2004. Nichols earned a Master’s degree in Anthropology from SUNY Albany and worked for several years as a field archaeologist before founding Atechiston, Inc., an academic publishing company, and becoming the publisher of
American Archaeology. Ms. Nichols moved to Lancaster in 2002, where she attended the Congregational Church of Christ and was a supporter of the Lancaster Historical Society.
She is survived by her great-aunt, Joyce (Mabel) Smith, and by her three children, Corinna, David, and Patrick. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM on October 5, 2010 at the Congregational Church of Christ in Lancaster.

GUILDHALL - Ronald C. MacKillop Sr.
....show , 68, died of a sudden illness Sunday morning September 26, 2010, at his home.
Mr. MacKillop was born in Lancaster, New Hampshire on November 30, 1941, the son of Edward A. and Marguerite (Kennett) MacKillop.
Ron was raised in Lancaster and graduated from Lancaster Academy in 1960. He worked numerous jobs through out the area and most of the time worked as a lineman.
He was always willing to lend a helping hand. He enjoyed puzzles, listening to country music, and singing and was also an avid Red Sox Fan.
Family members include his wife Kay (Stone) MacKillop of Guildhall; a son Ronald C. MacKillop Jr. and wife Cindy of Lunenburg, VT; a daughter Karen Ahrens and her husband Ingo of Colebrook; 5 grandchildren Tina MacKillop, Page MacKillop, Brooke MacKillop, Brianna Fogg and Ronald C. MacKillop III, 1 great grandchild, Blake Alexander MacKillop; 2 step-children Debbie Shinzy of Colorado and Kevin Littlehale of Groveton and 3 step-grandchildren, six brothers, Edward W. DALTON – Janet D. Ainsworth
....show , 74, died peacefully at her home on Monday evening, September 20, 2010, surrounded by her family, after a brief diagnosis of pancreatic cancer.
Mrs. Ainsworth was born in Sutton, VT, on August 21, 1936, the daughter of Wayne C. and Doris H. (Lane) Proof.
Janet was raised in Gorham and was a graduate of Gorham High School. She was a 28 year resident of South Berwick, Maine, and has lived in Dalton since 1999. She was loved by many and known for always wearing a smile, sharing and teaching people to hug. She lived her life with her arms wide open.
Family members include a son Wayne S. Ainsworth of Dalton; a daughter Shari L. Souliere of Barrington, NH; a sister Marcia Turmel of Merrimack; two stepsisters, Joyce Whitcomb of Franklin, Evelyn Silver of St. Johnsbury; three grandchildren, Daniel Ainsworth, Thomas Gervasi, Amanda Gervasi and a great-granddaughter Alyson Ainsworth, several nieces and nephews. Her husband, Everett W. “Scottie” Ainsworth predeceased on February 11, of this year.

LANCASTER, NH - Leonard Moses Savage
....show born on May 16, 1916, died at the Copley Manor in Morrisville, VT on September 10, 2010.
Parents of Leonard were William and Angie (Moses) Savage; siblings were George and Bernard Savage and Kathryn Hinkley all deceased.
Leonard lived almost all of his life on Stebbins Hill at the Savage Farm, moving there from the Baker Farm at the age of 3.
His education was at Lancaster Schools graduating from Lancaster Academy in 1934. He enlisted in the US Army when World War II broke out and saw duty in Italy and France as a Sergeant. Leonard married Virginia Morse on February 21, 1946 on his return from active duty. Virginia died November 18, 2009.
In 1959 Leonard sold his farm and dairy cows on the upper portion of Stebbins Hill and went to work for Curran and Lavoie Construction Co. When the company was bought out by Cianbro he continued to work for them until retiring in his 70’s.
His hobbies included raising Hereford’s and selling organic beef (before it was popular). Declining health forced the sale of the herd. His pride and joy was his Belgians team of Annie and Dolly, followed by Sarah and Cokie. He also refurbished 2 sleighs, his 1949 Packard, his 1952 John Deere tractor, an antique radio and repaired the cannon in Soldiers Park, Lancaster.
He loved his farm and often could be seen standing in the road looking over the mountains and town he so loved.
He is survived by his children, Mary Jo Savage Berube and her partner Philip Bovia of Underhill, VT, Alan Savage and his wife Joanne (Forbes) of Lancaster; grandsons John W. Berube Jr. and his family of Deerfield, NH and Jason Berube and partner Tamara Kelley of St. Albans, VT.
A visiting hour will be held Sunday September 12, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster, and a graveside service will follow immediately after in Summer Street Cemetery, Lancaster.

LANCASTER – Edward J. Widmayer
....show , 87, died at his home Thursday morning, September 9, 2010.
Mr. Widmayer was born in New York City, NY, on July 22, 1923, the son of Fred J. and Rose (Kronert) Widmayer.
Edward was a long time resident of New York City where he worked as an illustrator but his life’s work and passion was oil painting. He was a fine artist who mastered several styles from realism to modern. His abstract art, dubbed modern realism, depicts recognizable images in blocks of bold colors and shapes. He attended the Pratt Institute in NYC, studying with the legendary Hans Hoffman. In Paris he worked with Fernand Léger and Amdee Ozenfant. He was selected for a national exhibition at the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art.
During World War II he served with the US Army in the European Theater.
His wife, Maria T. (Robas) Widmayer predeceased him in 2006.
Visiting hours will be held Saturday morning, September 11, from 9:00 to 10:45 AM. A graveside service will follow at 11:00 AM in Summer Street Cemetery. Reverend Thomas Jackson, pastor of the Lancaster Church of Christ will officiate.

LANCASTER - Alice L. Sterling
....show , 91, formerly of Whitefield and Littleton, died September 1, 2010, at Weeks Medical Center, Lancaster.
Alice was born in Chichester, NH, on February 8, 1919, the daughter of Daniel and Bessie (Ingerson) Reed.
At ten years of age she moved with her family to Lancaster where they resided for many years. In 1965 she moved to Littleton where she resided for 37 years until moving to McIntyer School Apartments. She worked various jobs during her lifetime include waitress and caregiver work and she enjoyed spending time in Florida.
She is survived by a sister Katie Maker of Lancaster and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother George Reed and a sister Florence Dresser.
Services will be announced at a later date.
