Mrs. Barbara Kingsley
....show was born in Proctor, Vermont on March 2, 1928, a daughter of Julius E. and Mary Eleanor Pelkey.
Barbara graduated from Lancaster Academy in 1945 and married Ralph W. Kingsley on August 14, 1946. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella, taught Catechism and was a Girl Scout Leader, as well as a loving wife and mother.
Family members include her husband of 64 years Ralph of Lancaster, two daughters, Anne M. Kingsley-Powell and her husband Bill of Portsmouth and Mary Beth Begin of Lancaster, a son Brian J. Kingsley of Groveton, her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Karl and Lisa Martin and their children Danielle, Haley and Brooke; Paul and Shannon Martin and their children Madison and Jesse; Kristy Begin and her children Chase and Alexy; Jenny and Lolay Catudal and their children Damon and Joccelyn; Brent, Tristan and Kirsten Kingsley, her sister Marie Dubreuil and her husband Bob of Manchester and a sister in-law Maureen Pelkey of Braintree, MA., several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by, two brothers James Pelkey and J. Eugene Pelkey, a grandson Michael Martin and 4 great grandchildren Darren, Belle, Keysha and Matthew.
Calling hours are private. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday morning September 1st, at 11:00 AM, at All Saints Church, Lancaster. Reverend Daniel Deveau, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

LANCASTER, NH - Albert I. Reynolds
....show , 93, died August 28, 2010, at the Morrison Nursing Home, Whitefield.
Mr. Reynolds was born November 19, 1916 in West Lebanon, NH to George W. and Edna G. (Gunnison) Reynolds.
Albert grew up in Burlington, VT graduating from Burlington High School. He went to work for NE Telephone and Telegraph Co. in 1935 and retired from the same telephone Co. in 1978. He was very proud to be the first person in the State of Vermont to pass the PBX exam. For a brief time in 1945 he serviced with the US Army.
He belonged to the Washington Lodge F and AM #3 receiving his 70 year pin in 2008. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite, Temple Chapter No. 75, OES and the Telephone Pioneers of America. He served the town of So Burlington as a member of the Board of Civil Authority for 30 years and the Zoning Board of Adjustment for 19 years.
In 1940 he married Ruth E. Bishop. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary together at The Morrison on August 12, 2010.
Family members include his wife Ruth of Whitefield, their daughter Nancy Page and her husband Philip of Lancaster, grandchildren Lauralee Boivin and husband Michael of Littleton, NH, Suzanne Pyszka and her husband Andrew of Goffstown, NH, Sarah Hirji and her husband Aly of Melbourne, FL, Scott Page and wife Suzanne of Alstead, NH. Eight great-grandchildren, Kate and Tom Boivin, Mike Pyszka, Ashlee and Shayla Hirji, Nicole, Erica and Kevin Page. Albert is also survived by, his sister Evelyn Boileau of Baltimore, MD. Siblings George Reynolds, Elmer Reynolds and Edna Perras predeceased him.
A memorial service will be held Saturday afternoon, September 11th, at 2:00 PM, at the Christ United Methodist Church of Lancaster. Rev. Ron Bruce, pastor will officiate. Albert and Ruth wished to be interred at the same time. A private burial will take place at the appropriate time in Shelburne Village Cemetery, Shelburne, VT.

LITTLETON – Roger F. Bilodeau Jr.
....show , 43, passed away at his aunts home in Littleton on August 11, 2010.
Roger was born in Nashua, NH on May 1, 1967, the son of the late Roger F. Bilodeau Sr. and Gloria (Maker) Chase of Lancaster.
Roger attended schools in Lancaster and in Nashua acquiring his GED. He enjoyed family cookouts, fishing every day in the summer, even if for an hour, and his late night talks on the phone with his mother.
Family members include his mother Gloria Chase of Lancaster; two sisters, Tracy Dukette of Littleton and Billie-Jo Kimber and her husband Eric of Monroe; one brother Richard Bilodeau and his wife Tammy of Canaan, VT; his maternal grandmother Katie Maker of Lancaster; for children Felicia, Nicholas, Amber and Shy-Anna. Roger’s father Roger F. Bilodeau Sr. and Maternal grandfather Earle Maker died previously.
A private family viewing was held on August 13. Memorial visiting hours will be held on Saturday, August 21, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A graveside service will follow in Summer Street Cemetery.
STARK – Leatha G. Giggey
....show , 90, died Wednesday morning, August 11, 2010, at Weeks Medical Center, Lancaster.
Mrs. Giggey was born in Groveton, NH, on February 14, 1920, the daughter of Robert F. and Maude A. (Gochie) Gibson.
Leatha was raised in Stark and later lived in Northumberland where she worked 19 years for Groveton Paper Company. For a time she lived in West Willington, CT, and was employed at the Johnson Woolen Mill where she met her husband Richard C. Giggey.
They returned to Northumberland in 1971. She was an avid fisherman (fisherwoman?) and an excellent cook.
Surviving family members include two daughters, Marilla Lyndes of Colebrook, Veronica Boudle and her husband Irving of Stark; a brother Chandice Gibson of Dunbarton, NH; two sisters, Opal Potter of Guildhall, Theresa Peel of Groveton; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by Richard in 1995.
There are no visiting hours. A graveside service will be held Monday morning, August 16, at 11:00 AM in Emerson Cemetery, Stark. Rev. Brendan Whittaker of Brunswick, VT, will officiate.

LUNENBURG, VT – Walter Franklin Leighton
....show , 83, died on Tuesday, August 10, 2010, after a battle with lung cancer.
Walt was born in Gorham, Maine on February 28, 1927, the son of Ernest F. Leighton and Marian (Hodgdon) Leighton. He attended Westbrook schools and graduated from Westbrook High School. He served three tours in the United States Navy and is a veteran of both WWII and the Korean War. He lived in California for many years before returning to Westbrook, Maine. He retired to Vermont, spending his time gardening and canning.
He is survived by four sons, Michael, Mark, Jeffrey, and Kenneth Leighton; his brother Donald Leighton of Westbrook, Maine; nieces and nephews in Maine; cousins Judy Young and Amos and Weston Colby of Lunenburg, Vt., Marian Ryan of Oregon, Richard Martin of Guildhall, Vt., Millard Martin of Lancaster, NH, the Hodgdons in Granby, Vt.; and his adopted family, Edson, Deborah, Natalie, and Olivia Thomas also of Lunenburg, Vt.
Walt was predeceased by his only sister, Ernestine, and brothers, Albert, William, Paul, Richard, and Lloyd.
There are no visiting hours. A graveside service with military honors will be held on Monday, August 16, at 1:30 p.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery in Westbrook Maine.

LANCASTER – Michael G. Waninger
....show , 74, of Main Street, died Friday morning, August 6, 2010, at Weeks Medical Center.
Mr. Waninger was born in the Bronx, NY, on September 8, 1935, the son of George and Marie (Redel) Waninger.
He graduated from New York City Community College in 1956 with an associate degree in applied science. For many years he resided in Connecticut where he was employed with Fidelity Union Life. Thirty-two years ago he moved to New Hampshire and was employed for a time at Blais Wholesale, Berlin. He and his wife Catherine were the former owners of the Village Peddler in Gorham for 22 years.
Michael was a member and past president of the Fairfield County Fish & Game, in Sandy Hook, CT, and former Director of the Berlin-Gorham Chamber of Commerce. He also served in the US Navy.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing and walking his two dogs Buddy and Baby.
Family members include his wife of 35 years, Catherine F. (Small) Waninger of Lancaster; a daughter, Laurie Waninger of Sullivan, NH; two sons, Michael K. Waninger of Oswego, NY, Daniel S. Waninger and wife Lynne of Beacon Falls, CT; 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

GROVETON – Tatum Anna Duncan Roache
....show , infant daughter of Amanda L. Duncan of Groveton and Michael J. Roache of Whitman, MA, died Wednesday evening August 4, 2010, surrounded by loved ones.
Tatum was born in Lebanon, NH, on April 9, 2010. She was a perfect baby and a fighter.
Besides her parents she is also survived by a sister Miley Duncan of Groveton; her maternal grandmother Pamela Duncan of MA; paternal grandparents Larry and Kathy Roache of MA; maternal great-grandmother Helen Duncan of MA; an uncle David Duncan of MA and an aunt Vicki Bagnell of MA.

STARK - Sandra L. Mickelboro

Mrs. Mickelboro was born October 30, 1943, the daughter of Russell and Rita Garland.
Sandra resided in Stark most of her life. For several years she worked at Ames Dept. Store in Northumberland. She did selfless work volunteering, enjoyed baking, but most of all loved her time with her granddaughter Hattie.
Family members include a son Tyrone Mickelboro and his wife Nifa and their daughter Hattie of Stark, a daughter Melinda Miller of NH and a brother Norman Garland. Her husband Tyrone Mickelboro predeceased her.
A graveside service will be held Saturday afternoon, July 31, at 1:00 PM at the Emerson Cemetery in Stark. Reverend Aaron Cox will officiate.
GROVETON, NH - Paulina M. Covell
....show , 87, passed away Monday morning, July 26, 2010, at Country Village Genesis Elder Care, Lancaster.
Mrs. Covell was born in Groveton, NH on December 13, 1922, the daughter of Clement and Alta (Graham) Carpovich.
Paulina was a lifelong resident of Groveton and was a graduate of Groveton High School. For a time she worked for Groveton Paper Co., but she truly loved being a homemaker. She enjoyed bingo, knitting and playing cards.
Her family members include her husband Irving R. Covell of Groveton, son Thomas Covell and his wife Gloria of Groveton, daughter Elizabeth Bean and her husband Charles of Newry, ME, 4 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren, a brother Philip J. Graham of Wellesley, MA and a nephew Philip Graham of Wrenthem, MA. She was predeceased by, her parents, her daughter Coral “Candy” Covell in 1997 and a brother Edward A. Carpovich.
A funeral service will be held Thursday afternoon, July 29th at 2:00 PM, at the United Methodist Church in Groveton. Reverend Aaron Cox, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in the Northumberland Cemetery, Groveton.

LANCASTER - Frederic F. Clauss
....show , 52, died Wednesday evening, July 21, 2010, at Weeks Medical Center, Lancaster, after a battle with cancer.
Mr. Clauss was born in Lancaster on August 18, 1957, a son of Frederic R. and Ella (Hand) Clauss.
He was a life long resident of Lancaster and a graduate of White Mountain Regional High School where he ran track and played soccer. For 25 plus years he was employed at White Mountain Mack, Lancaster. He owned and operated his own farm where he raised prize winning Angus Cattle and he also ran a maple sugar orchard.
Fred was best known as an avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed trapping and ice fishing and going on hunting trips to Saskatchewan.
He was a member of the American Angus Association.
Family members include his wife Ellie (Brown) Clauss of Lancaster, a son Jared Clauss and his wife Ashley of Groveton; three daughters, Alicia Clauss and companion Christian Shannon of Groveton, Bianca Clauss of Groveton and Morgan Clauss of Lancaster; a sister Anne Clauss of Manchester, and four grandchildren Taylor, Ryan Ella and Colby. His parents and his brother Charles Clauss predeceased him.

WHITEFIELD, NH - Lawrence A. Samson
....show , 88, died July 13, 2010, at his home after a long illness.
Mr. Samson was born in Jefferson on April 23, 1922, the son of Alfred J. and Gladys M. (Ingerson) Samson.
Raised in Jefferson, he joined the U.S Marine Corps. He served during World War II and fought at Tarawa and Saipan, where he was wounded and received the Purple Heart.
He worked for the State Highway Dept for 31 years retiring in 1984. He also served as a volunteer for the Lancaster Fire Dept for several years. Other memberships included a lifetime member and past commander of the Lancaster VFW John Weeks Post 3041, the Military Order of the Cooties in Lancaster and the Disabled American Veterans.
Family members include his five daughters, Barbara Allin of Fayetteville, NC, Linda Streeter of Lunenburg, VT, Lorraine Reinhard of Littleton, NH, Gloria Hatfield and JoAnn Samson both of Whitefield, NH, 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Marguerite S. Brainhard and Jane Beaton both of Lancaster, NH, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. His wife of forty-five years Dorothy (Willey) Samson, his parents and his brother Richard E. Samson, predeceased him.

LANCASTER, NH - Rev. Father Curtis Wallace Hanners Jr., Ph.D.
....show , 78, of Lancaster, died at home on July 12 after a long period of declining health. Father Hanners was born in 1932 in Baltimore, Maryland. He was the son of the late Curtis W. Hanners and Mary (Rufenacht) Hanners, of Baltimore, Maryland.
Father Hanners completed his secondary education at Baltimore Polytechnic Institute in 1951. He graduated from Washington College in Chestertown, Maryland in 1956 and received the Bachelor of Divinity from Yale University in 1959. He earned his Ph.D. in psychology from the Hartford Seminary Foundation in 1973. Father Hanners was a licensed clinical psychologist practiced in Washington County, Maine and then Lancaster, Berlin, and North Conway, New Hampshire until 1998.
Father Hanners was ordained a priest in the Episcopal Church in June 1961 in the mission Church of All Saints in Fallsington, Pennsylvania. He served as Vicar of that parish until 1965 and then as Rector of the Church of the Epiphany until 1969. Father Hanners moved to Durham, Connecticut where he became pastor of All Saints Episcopal Church until 1979. He began Christ Church (Anglican mission) in Littleton, New Hampshire in 2000. Father Hanners has been active in the current world-wide Anglo-Catholic Reform movement.
Father Hanners was an individual with many interests and talents. He developed a keen interest and skill as a bluegrass musician and played the guitar, banjo and mandolin. With friends he started a bluegrass band called the Lehigh Valley Ramblers. Father Hanners designed and built from scratch a hand-crafted log cabin on the Bold Coast of Maine at the mouth of Haycock Harbor in Trescott, Maine. Soon after moving to Lancaster in 1985, Father Hanners developed his interest in sheep and bred Rambouillet sheep from breeding stock acquired from a ranch in South Dakota; he was a member of the American Rambouillet Sheep Breeders Association. He sold his wool to local markets and regularly attended sheep and wool festivals in the northeast where he displayed his stock. Father Hanners was an avid reader and student of the great philosophers and theologians, especially Kierkegaard and Karl Barth, and enjoyed engaging in discussions of philosophical and theological topics. He enjoyed poetry and occasionally wrote sharing his writings with loved ones.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Ursula (Crass) Hanners of Gore Road, Lancaster, a sister, Mary Jane Zimmerman of Forest Hills, Maryland; two children from his first marriage: Lise Hanners of Weston, Connecticut, Laura Wakeman of Dillon, Montana; and four grandchildren. His first wife Martha N. Hanners predeceased him on August 20, 1989.
Calling hours will be held Thursday evening, July 15, from 5-7 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home in Lancaster. An Anglican Eucharistic Service will be held Friday morning at 11:00 AM at Community Baptist Church in Whitefield with the Reverend Philip Lyman as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Summer Street Cemetery in Lancaster.

LANCASTER, NH - Marilyn A. LaCroix
....show , 69, died Monday July 12, 2010 in her home in the loving embrace of her family.
Marilyn was born in Lancaster on March 28, 1941, the daughter of Richard W. and Margaret A. (Savage) Carr.
She was raised in Lancaster and returned here after several years, having traveled and living in many states. She especially loved the mountains and blue skies of Colorado and visited there often.
Marilyn embraced the beauty of life by sharing her passion for nature, music, theatre and the arts. A devoted member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. She was an organist and choir member; a senior warden and most recently served as church secretary. Marilyn quietly gave herself to her community and charitable organizations.
She is survived by her mother Margaret A. Carr of Lancaster, her son Michael LaCroix and his daughter Lilli Heller-LaCroix of Salida, CO, her daughter Suzanne LaCroix and husband David Symonds of Keene, NH and their father Leon J. LaCroix of Groveton, NH, a sister Elizabeth C. Gilmore and husband Anthony of Hopkinton, NH, a brother Alan J. Carr of Lancaster, NH and several nieces and nephews. Her father Richard W. Carr predeceased her.
A celebration of Marilyn’s life will be Saturday morning July 17, at 11 AM at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Lancaster. A reception will follow at the Col. Town Community House.

ST. JOHNSBURY, VT - Rev. David E. Pendleton
....show , 60, died July 11, as the result of a bike accident in North Danville, VT.
David was born in Pasadena, California Oct. 16, 1949, the son of Helen Mulcahy Pendleton and David E. Pendleton Sr. Soon after his family moved back to Winthrop, MA where David grew up and attended local schools. He served in the Army, was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War and then returned to the Boston area and earned a degree in Economics from the University of Massachusetts, Boston.
For many years David held a variety of positions that contributed to his well-rounded life. He was a car salesman, ran his own rental car business, installed sunroofs, was a professional hypnotist, and operated his own moving business among other careers prior to attending seminary.
In 1996 David received his Masters of Divinity degree from the Lancaster Seminary in Lancaster, PA. Following his ordination he served the Standish Congregational United Church of Christ of Standish, Maine. He then moved to Lancaster, NH to serve as pastor of the Lancaster Congregational United Church of Christ from 1999 until 2004. Most recently David served as pastor of the First Congregational United Church of Christ, Haverhill, NH.
David served on boards and committees of the New Hampshire Conference of the United Church of Christ and the Grafton-Orange Association of the United Church of Christ. He was a member of several clergy groups and a board member of the Kingdom Recovery Center in St. Johnsbury, Vt.
Family members, friends and church members knew David to be soft spoken and compassionate, quiet and gentle by nature, and strong in faith. He believed that God guided his life and that our primary role in life is to honor God and love and support one another.
David’s family includes his wife Abby Joy Pollender of St. Johnsbury, his son Alexander Pendleton of Manchester, NH, his daughter Danielle Pendleton of Sharon, MA, and Abby’s daughters Molly, Ann and Kara Goolman of St. Johnsbury. He also leaves his siblings Charles Wheelock and his wife Rosalie of, Forest, VA; Pol Wheelock and wife Anita Anderson of Fairfield, ME; Diane Pendleton and her husband Bill Shanabruch of Richmond, VA; Suzanne Pendleton Rechis, and her husband Sal Rechis of Round Rock, TX; John Pendleton, and his wife Christine Jillson of Newton, MA and several cousins, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by, his parents and his brother Thomas Pendleton.
David’s family is extremely grateful for assistance and support of so many friends and strangers who joined in the search for him. The professionalism and kindness of Sgt. Clement Houde and other members of the St. Johnsbury Police Department and Vermont State Police are also greatly appreciated.
A memorial service for David will be held, Saturday, July 24 at 2:00 p.m. at the Lancaster Congregational United Church of Christ, 142 Main St., Lancaster, NH. Friends are invited to join David’s family for a gathering in honor of David at his home at 401 Summer St., St. Johnsbury, VT on Friday, July 23 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

....show , 65, formerly of First Street, died Saturday morning July 10, 2010, at the Morrison in Whitefield, NH.
Mrs. Sullivan was born in Lowell, MA, on June 30, 1945, the daughter of Edward W. and Jeanette (Nadeau) St. John.
She was raised in Lowell and was a graduate of Lowell High. For a time she resided in Littleton, MA, but has been a long time resident of Lancaster and worked as a cook at Weeks Medical Center. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, shopping, and horses but her greatest enjoyment was being a mother and a grandmother.
Family members include her husband Kevin P. Sullivan of Whitefield, NH; a son Sean Sullivan and his wife Sheena of Twin Mountain, NH; a step-son Gregory Sullivan and wife Christine of Nashua; two sisters, Nancy Brown of Hudson, NH, Linda Rodriguez of St. Johnsbury, VT; three brothers, Elmer St. John and Maureen of Greenville, NH, Arthur St. John of Lunenburg, MA, Brian St. John and Nancy of Jefferson, NH; and 5 grandchildren, Sarina, Jaydah, Madison, Cole, and Ryder. She was predeceased by her parents and a brother Edward St. John.

Ramona N. (Noyes) Baird
....show , 79, of Manchester, died on June 4, 2010, at Hanover Hill Health Care Center in, Manchester.
She was born in Northumberland on October 25, 1930, the daughter of Harry F. and Flossie L. (Pilbro) Noyes. She had lived most of her life in Lancaster and recently moved to Manchester. She graduated in 1948 from Lancaster Academy and on January 3, 1953 married Raymond W. “Sam” Baird, Jr. who predeceased her. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting, and loved music. She was a very talented piano player and loved a good musical. She worked for a number of years at the Lancaster Diner, Marshall’s Insurance and Weeks Medical Center.
In Her Life: Family members include three daughters, Julie Towle and her husband Tim of Orlando, FL, Roberta (Bobbie) Jordan and her husband Mark of Auburn, and Melody Baird of Meredith; a special niece, Beverly Pelletier, seven grandchildren, Timothy Towle II, Teresa Towle Sturges, Amy Towle Burk, Jeremy Burke, Chris Burke, Tyler Jordan and Rilee Jordan; eight great grandchildren, and nephews, nieces and cousins. She was predeceased by, a daughter, Linda Chase in December 2009. In her later life, she formed a special bond with Charlotte (Penney) Calacci of Charlotte, VT.
Memorial calling hours will be held Saturday June 19th from 12 to 2 PM at Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. Burial will follow in Colebrook Village Cemetery, Colebrook.
Pittsburg,NH - James R. Gallagher
....show , 85 passed away Friday, June 4, 2010 at The Pines Rehabilitation and health Center in Lyndonville, Vt.
Mr. Gallagher was born in Lancaster, NH on September 8, 1924, the son of Frank and Eva (Scott) Gallagher.
James worked at Sunnybrook Farms running the dairy operations for his father for several years after graduating from Groveton High School before relocating to East Hartford, Ct.
James attended Central Connecticut State University, formerly New Britain State Teacher's College with a teaching degree. While attending college, he managed Bergren's Dairy for over 10 years. When the dairy was sold, he went to work for United Technologies as a Senior Systems Analyst where he worked until he retired at age 65.
After retirement, he worked at East Hartford High as a permanent substitute until age 83. He was totally dedicated to the students and was always volunteering for whatever had to be done, from subbing, manning the cafeteria at lunchtime, selling tickets at athletic events, monitoring state tests and helping implement their state of the art identification program. His students were like a second family to him. He also was active in the East Hartford Exchange Club where he was President and a member of the board until his death. James also owned and operated an Arco gas station in Windsor, Ct. in the 60's and owned and operated a small restaurant in Middletown, Ct. for a short time.
Other than his family, his two loves in life were his dogs and baseball. He raised weimaraners from the time he moved down here, always having at least 2. He used to get them from Germany as pups. Whenever you saw him anywhere, you usually saw his two dogs with him.
He was extremely involved in the Greater Hartford Twilight Baseball League, a semi-pro league that is one of the oldest leagues in the country, being established in 1929. He has held every position from secretary, treasurer, statistician, vice president,assistant to the president and president for 15 plus years. Among the players that have gone on the the major league are Bernie Williams of the Yankees and Jeff Bagwell of the Houston Astros, both friends of his. He was President of the Greater Hartford Twilight Baseball League when he died. he has received many awards, both local and state for his involvement in sports. He was inducted into the GHTBL hall of Fame and also received the Connecticut Sports Writers Alliance Gold Key Good Sportsman Award which includes such honorees as President Bush, Walter Kennedy, Steve Blass and Gordie Howe to name a few. He also established and ran a basketball team called the "Dukes" when he first relocated to Connecticut, giving young boys a chance to play organized basketball, and, still kept in touch with most of the team 50+ years later.
James owned a home in Pittsburg, NH and always loved to go there and spend time with his beloved wiemaraners and have his sister Louise come up and stay with him. He owned and operated Back Lake tackle Shop as well as 2 rental properties up there. He will be missed by his many friends up there.
Family members include 2 sisters, Louise Samson or Lancaster, NH, Jane Foss and Mark of Bolton, Ct., step sister Ann Broome of Fitchburg, Ma., step brother, John Shores of Northumberland, NH.,4 nephews, Richard Samson and Linda of Stewartstown, Donald Foss of Bolton, Ct., James Foss and Deborah of Colchester, Ct., and John Foss and Tory of Westerly, RI., and 2 nieces, Nadene Silveroli and Joe of Henderson, Nv. and Mary Dlubac and Michael of Bolton, Ct. He was predeceased by brother in law, Richard E. Samson and nephew, Warren Samson. He was also predeceased by, his long time love and companion, Mary Corcoran. He also leaves numerous great nieces and nephews and cousins, including 102 year old Jess Scott and 99 year old Margaret Carr.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, June 10 from 4-6 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A funeral service will be held Friday morning at 11:00 AM at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church in Lost Nation. Reverend Noel Bailey, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in the Summer Street Cemetery in Lancaster.

LANCASTER, NH - Earl L. Cutting
....show , 92, died Monday evening, May 17, 2010, at Country Village Genesis Eldercare Center, Lancaster.
Mr. Cutting was born in Concord, NH, on October 25, 1917, the son of Carl L. and Stella (Bean) Cutting. He was a 1935 graduate of Simonds High School, Warner, NH. During WWII he served with the US Army in England and France.
For 43 years he worked for H.P. Hood and was a regional sales manager in Portland, ME, from 1963 to 1978. During his retirement years in Portland he worked for Hertz Car Rental and several courier services. For many years he was a holiday delivery man for Riff’s Flower Shop, Lancaster, NH. He has resided in Lancaster for the past 4 years.
Mr. Cutting was a member of the Central Square Baptist Church, Portland, ME, serving as deacon for many years. During his time in Lancaster he has been an active member of the Lancaster Congregational United Church of Christ.
He was a 32 Degree Mason and member of the Harris Lodge #51 where he also served as past master. Other Masonic memberships include the Deering Lodge #59, the Scottish Rite, and the Kora Shrine and Chanters.
Other memberships include the Portland Rotary Club and the American Legion. Earl sang for many organizations and also weddings. He enjoyed carpentry and handyman work.
Family members include his wife of 69 years Barbara Y. (Young) Cutting of Lancaster, NH; a son C. Wayne Cutting and wife Sydnie M. Smith of Kennebunk, ME; a daughter Linda C. Hutchins and husband Dave of Lancaster; six grandchildren, Greg Hutchins and companion Billie Andersen, Stacey and Steve Desrosiers, Lisa and Dereck Courhaine, Lori and Phil Alexander, James and Marie Companion; 7 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held Thursday evening, May 20, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, 210 Main Street, Lancaster, NH. A funeral service will be held Friday morning at 11:00 at the Lancaster Congregational United Church of Christ. Rev. Virginia Alvarez, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Warner, NH, at 4:00 PM.
LANCASTER - Michael David Powell

Mr. Powell was born in Lancaster on August 25, 1971.
Michael was a lifelong resident of Lancaster graduating from White Mountain Regional High School in 1990. He worked many jobs including the Gilman Paper Co., Martins Farm and Asplundh. For the past few years he has been a proud stay at home Dad, which he took great pride in. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending his time with them.
Family members include his father; Lawrence C. Powell of Lancaster, his companion of 17 years Cari Hodgdon of Lancaster, two children Adam Michael Powell and Hannah Marie Powell; three sisters Laurie Isenburg of Tyrone, PA, Tina Desrochers of Lancaster and Tammy Gawronski of Hanscom AFB, MA and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by, a brother Lawrence C. Powell Jr.
A graveside service will be held Saturday morning May 21, at 11:00 AM in the Summer Street Cemetery. Rev. Todd Goulet of Northumberland will officiate.

JEFFERSON, NH - Maureen Samson
....show , 47, died Friday May 14, 2010, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon.
Maureen was born on October 6, 1962, in Red Bank, New Jersey, a daughter of James and Marcella (Charles) Coughlin.
She was raised in Keyport, New Jersey, and moved to the North Country in 1977. She became a para-educator do to her devotion and love for children. She worked at the Lancaster Elementary School and was also employed at the North End Market.
She was a devote Beatles Fan and she may have moved away from New Jersey but there was a part of her that was always a Jersey Girl.
Family members include her parents James and Marcella of Bradenton, FL, two sons James Samson and Thomas Samson of Lancaster, the love of her life Ben Fontaine of Jefferson, a brother Christopher Coughlin of New Jersey and a sister Katherine Coughlin of New Jersey, her special nephew Christopher Coughlin Jr. and many other nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held Tuesday May 18, from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held Wednesday morning at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. David Stone will officiate. Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery.
