Montgomery Village, VT - Roland "Rollie" Baker
....show , age 68, passed away unexpectedly Friday afternoon April 3, 2009 as a result of a motor vehicle accident. He was born on February 23, 1941 in Enosburg (Woodward Neighborhood) the son of the late Fred and Lydia (St. Cyr) Baker. Roland loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener. He also was a fan of car racing with his favorite driver being Carl Edwards. He started his working career farming then went to the Jay Peak Ski Resort where he worked for 17 years, and the last 27 years of his career were spent at Hearthstone in Morrisville, retiring in 2007. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn (Gokey) Baker of Montgomery Village; a daughter and her husband, Robin and John Pelkey of Montgomery Center; their daughter Cyndee Pelkey and Cyndee’s daughter Ariella Chambers both of Worcester, MA; a son and his wife, Scott and Lisa Baker of Montgomery Center; a daughter, Tina Baker her partner Archie Cota of Montgomery, their children Laci Baker and friend Sierra LaCoste of Sheldon, Jordan Cota and friend Chelsea Griggs of Montgomery Center/ Eden, and Jade Cota of Montgomery; a son, Douglas Baker of Montgomery his children Shane Germain of Hyde Park, and Natasha, Dylan & Jacob Baker of Morrisville; a sister, Rose-Marie Johnson and her husband Willard of St. Albans; a brother, Robert Baker and his wife Aline of Montgomery; sisters-in-law, Wanda Reed and her husband Darrell, and Bonnie Donna and her husband Kevin all of West Berkshire; a special aunt, Aldea Sylvester of Montgomery; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends; also, his faithful friend/ hound dog, Shylah the St. Bernard. Besides his parents Roland was predeceased by his Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, Chester and Lucy Gokey. A graveside service will be held Saturday April 18, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the Hill West Cemetery in Montgomery with Deacon Jon Ramey officiating . There will be no visiting hours. ENOSBURG FALLS - Eugene F. Hull
....show , age 96, passed away the evening of Thursday April 9, 2009 at the Franklin County Rehab Facility in St. Albans. He was born in Cambridge, VT on April 20, 1912, the son of the late, Fay E. and Ethel P. (Ovitt) Hull. Eugene moved to Enosburg with his family in 1929 where they milked cows until 1968 at which point he continued to raise heifers until 1979. He also worked with the WPA setting power poles throughout Vermont and as far east as Maine during the 1940’s. Even at the age of 96 he was active and continued to putter around the farm and home which he loved to be at and take care of. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He will be remembered as a great story teller. He is survived by his nieces, Fay Wanzer of Boulder, CO., Deborah Wanzer and her partner Marla Kellman of Chestnut Hill, MA, and Virginia Burleson of Shelburne, VT; a great nephew, Samuel Kellman-Wanzer of Chestnut Hill, MA; several cousins, friends and neighbors. Besides his parents Eugene was predeceased by his siblings, Doris Larabee, Ruby Burleson, Morton Hull, and Marion Wanzer. Funeral services will be held Tuesday April 14, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls. Interment will follow in the North Fairfield Cemetery. ....show , age 40, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 18, 2009 as the result of an ATV accident in Bakersfield. Mit was born October 15, 1968 in Burlington, the son of Chester "Chet" & Kathleen "Kate" (Doane) Parsons. Mit was a 1986 graduate of Richford High School, received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1990 and his Master of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1993 from the University of Vermont. His working career started with the Polaroid Corporation in Norwood, MA and New Bedford, MA from 1993 to 1999. He was then employed by Husky Injection Molding Systems in Milton, VT from 1999 to 2006, and he worked for Wales Engineering from 2006 to 2008. Wales Engineering was owned by Mit’s good friend and college roommate, Tim Wales. He was currently employed as an Application Engineer at Hayward Tyler in Colchester. Among the many things he loved to do, Mit enjoyed hiking, golfing, skiing, cooking, biking, music, playing his guitar, singing, camping, rock climbing, playing basketball, four wheeling with his friends in Bakersfield and most of all he loved to hang out with his brother and best friend, Matt. Mit’s family and friends will remember him as a loving son, brother, nephew and cousin. He was one of a kind, with a great sense of humor, a sharp wit and loving heart. You really felt loved when you got one of Mit’s hugs. We know Mit will find the eternal happiness he deserves. ....show , age 59, wife of Fred Irons and a resident of the Jay Road in Richford passed away on Tuesday afternoon, April 21, 2009 at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington, surrounded by her loving family. Martha was born on October 24, 1949 in Richford the daughter of Basil and Winifred (Currier) Royea. She had worked as an activities director at Verdelle Village in St. Albans and Ava Maria and Our Lady of the Meadows in Richford. Martha loved to shop and watch the birds and also liked to read. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her husband Fred of Richford, Martha is survived by her father Basil Royea of Richford; her children, Michael Irons and his wife Patty of Berkshire, her son Mark Irons of Berkshire and his son Adam, her daughter Melissa Paquette and her husband Timmy of Richford and their children Katie and Shelby, her son Matthew Irons and his significant other Kristie Rivers of Richford and their children Katelyn and Jaden; her sister Sylvia Cox and her husband John of Richford and her brothers, James Royea of Berkshire, Gary Royea and his wife Pam of Richford and Kevin Royea and his wife Laurie of Richford. In addition to her mother, Martha was predeceased by a brother Dale Royea. Jeannette was a devoted wife, mother & grandmother, and took pride in being a homemaker, working on the farm and raising her family. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lourdes Catholic Church in East Berkshire. She enjoyed playing cards especially 500 and Sunday’s with her family. She also liked to go to BINGO every week with her friends. Jeannette & Maurice were married August 1, 1936. ....show , age 79, joined Jesus on Friday April 24, 2009 at the St. Albans Health Care & Rehab Facility following a 30 year battle with breast cancer. She was born December 13, 1929 in Dunkin, Quebec Canada the daughter of the late Frank & Winnie (Bickford) Sargent. Joyce’s passion was her home and raising her children. She relished in her role as a Wife, Mom, and Grandmother. After being diagnosed with cancer Joyce took up golfing and in the summer months never missed a week of golfing with her good friend, Betty Lothian. She is survived by her husband Albert Payne of Richford. Joyce and Albert were married May 31, 1952. She is also survived by her children, Heather Payne of Morristown, and Mark Payne and his wife Christine of Essex Jct.; her grandchildren, Hilary, Sarah, Amanda, and Matthew; her great grandsons, Gabriel & Ethan; her siblings, Elda Sargent of Dunkin, Que., Larry Sargent of Mansonville, Que., Faye Smith and her husband Lawrence of Sutton, Que., and Dennis Sargent of Lake Memphermagog, Que. Besides her parents, Joyce was predeceased by brothers, Wesley, Donald & Norman Sargent; and a sister, Pansy Sargent. ....show , age 28, passed away unexpectedly on April 24, 2009 in St. Albans as the result of an automobile accident. Dustin was born July 30, 1980 in St. Albans the son of Roddy & Cindy (Deuso) Churchill. Dustin was a lifelong resident of Sheldon and was a 1998 graduate of BFA-St.Albans. Dustin was the proud owner of Green Mountain Flooring, a venture he started this year where he was able to apply his artistic ability and was something that he thoroughly enjoyed. Dustin was a big-hearted person with a one-of-a-kind laugh and smile that will never be forgotten. He loved family gatherings and was great at entertaining, teaching and playing with the younger kids especially his younger cousins. Dustin was an exceptional athlete and enjoyed playing baseball, basketball, and soccer. He also enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting & four wheeling. Most of all he loved and looked forward to the time he spent with his son, Jaden. He was a sheet metal worker and mechanic having worked at Connor Construction, Vermont Heating & Ventilating, Sheldon Welding & Repair as well as several area farms. Tom was a tinkerer and enjoyed working on old cars and playing guitar. He loved to spend time with his kids and when he was younger he loved to spend time with his grandfather Broe. He is survived by his children, Samantha Gleason of Middlebury, Leah Russin, Katelyn Gleason, Bethany Gleason, Thomas M. Gleason IV, and Tyler Gleason all of Enosburg; his Partner of 13 years, June Russin of Enosburg; his mother, Peggy Gleason and her fiancé Jeff Clark of Berkshire; his father, Thomas M. Gisele was born on September 16, 1944 in Richford, the daughter of Treffle and Cecile (Robert) Benoit. A woman with a big heart, Gisele loved to spend her summers in Vermont at camp with her family and friends. She was the first one to lend a helping hand to family and friends in need. Throughout her life she cared for her family and, through her spirit and kindness, she touched the lives of everyone she encountered. Gisele’s greatest accomplishment was her children and grandson whom she loved dearly. Gisele is survived by her daughter Nicole Fesette of Suffolk, VA; her son Kyle Fesette and his wife Ashley and their son Gage Fesette of Suffolk, VA; her brother Philip Benoit and his wife Sheila and their children and grandchildren of Killingsworth, CT. ....show , age 79, passed away Thursday, May 14, 2009 at the Centre D’Acceuil Nursing Home in Cowansville, Quebec. She was born in Sweetsburg, Quebec on May 24, 1929 the daughter of the late William Armstrong Cleveland & Dorothy Maud (McQuinn) Cleveland. Margaret started working at the Bruck Silk Mill in Cowansville on June 1, 1949. She married Roger Lumbra on December 9, 1967; he predeceased her on April 21, 1994. Margaret & Roger moved to Richford in 1967 and she continued working at the mill in Cowansville until 1976 at which point she began working at the C. Bockus gas station until 1979. From 1979 to 1985 she worked at the Blouin’s I.G.A. in Richford and finally was employed at the Merchants Bank in Burlington, VT from 1986 until she retired in 1995. Margaret married Marcel Martel October 11, 1997; he predeceased her July 10, 2008. Margaret was a member of the Richford 1st Baptist Church and a 50 years member of the Rebecca’s in Canada. Her hobbies were dancing, crocheting, reading, playing cards, playing jokes and traveling extensively in the Unites States and Canada with her husband Marcel, her friend Rose and her nephew Steven. Hawaii was the furthest place she traveled too. She also loved dogs, especially a Dachshund named "Co Co". She is survived by her sisters, Lois Hollenbeck of Waterloo, Que., and Wilma Cleveland Bockus Derrick of Cowansville, Que.; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces & great nephews, great great nieces and a great great nephew. RICHFORD - Homer William "Bud" Clark
....show , 88 died Saturday morning May 16, 2009 surrounded by family at his Richford home, after a short battle with cancer. He was born July 18, 1920 in Worchester, MA, the son of the late W. Atlee Clark and Pearl (McKenney) Clark. He attended and graduated from Richford High School. He married Frances Jean Lawliss on June 18, 1947 at Richford, VT. Homer joined the U.S. Army and was with the "Thunderbolts" in the 11th armored division on the European front during WWII. He was in the "Battle of the Bulge" and helped in the liberation of a concentration camp. In his early years he helped his dad and brother doing carpentry work. After the war he went to work for the H.K. Webster Co. and retired about 40 years later as maintenance superintendent. Bud was good at building and fixing things and always willing to help a person whenever needed. A charter member of the Richford Lions Club, he was very instrumental in the development of the Richford Lions Club ski tow. Many hours were spent with his brother Lloyd and friend Keith Jackson in building, maintaining, and running the ski tow. He also helped barbeque chickens every 4th of July for the Lions club. For many years he helped in the grounds keeping and building of fences for the playground, baseball and softball fields. During the winter he helped plow snow from the skating rink. Homer is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Frances Clark; one daughter Wendy and her husband Dan of Wilmington, Ohio; Four sons, Jerry and his wife Gina of St. Albans Bay, Brian of Richford, Frank and his wife Jeannie of Richford, Joel and his wife Christine of Swanton. 12 Grandchildren, Atlee of St. Petersburg, FL, Eric and Jenny of Tolland, CT, Christian of Orlando, FL, Jaxon and Gretchen of Franklin, KY, Toby and Heather of White House, TN, Koby, Hunter of Richford, Zachary, Chelsea, Noah, Jerad & Jordan of Swanton; 6 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Homer was predeceased by his brothers, Lloyd and Harold. Gordon was born on August 26, 1940 in East Enosburgh, the son of Clarence and Florence (Archambault) Kelley. He attended schools in Enosburg and Bakersfield. In his early years, Gordon had worked in a sawmill. He later worked at United Farmers Creamery in Enosburg. He especially enjoyed attending fairs. Gordon is survived by his brother Wilbur Kelley and his wife Phyllis of St. Albans and Summerfield, FL; his sisters Veronica Monette of Bakersfield and Grace Minor of Manchester, NH; nieces, nephews and cousins. ....show , 67, wife of James J. Kassal, died on May 21, 2009 at home after a long struggle with brain cancer. She was born in Burlington, VT on April 26, 1942, daughter of Cecilia and Louis Graeter. Christina lived in Enosburg Falls, VT from early childhood through high school. She graduated from the University of Vermont (Phi Beta Kappa) and subsequently received a Masters Degree from the University of Buffalo. Christina loved to travel. As a young woman, she studied at the University of Cologne and then taught English to school children in Germany. She traveled to various countries in Europe and most recently, traveled throughout Scotland with her husband. Throughout her life, Christina was keenly interested in history. For many years, she was a docent at the Monte Cristo Cottage in New London, CT and then at Smith’s Castle in North Kingstown, RI for which she made several authentic period costumes. For many years, Christina was also a Girl Scout leader, taking a large troop of girls from Brownies to Senior Scouts. She also sang with her church choirs at St. Matthias in East Lyme, CT and St. Francis de Sales in North Kingstown. For the past several years, Christina enjoyed playing cards with her friends from the North Kingstown Newcomers and Friends club, and she belonged to several book groups where she loved to lead discussions. She was also known for her caring and loving interest in her large family of siblings and sharing in all their adventures through life. Besides her husband, James, Christina leaves her daughter, Sonja, two married step sons Peter (Gayle) and Michael (Susan) and grand children Sara, Collin, and Sophia Kassal. She is also survived by five sisters, Sharon Graeter, Jacquelyn O’Neil, Marcia Douglas, Melanie Daly, Rebecca Jones, and two brothers, Robert and Eric Graeter. She was predeceased by her parents, one sister Catherine Dean and infant brother Stephen Graeter. Calling hours will be on Sunday, May 24 from 6:30 - 7:30 PM for family, and 7:30 - 9:30 PM for all others at the Fagan - Quinn Funeral Home in North Kingstown, RI. NORTH CAMBRIDGE - Bik-Mui "Mary" Skol
....show , age 67, passed away Saturday evening May 23, 2009 at the Franklin County Rehab Facility in St. Albans. She was born in China on July 13, 1941 and orphaned at an early age. Raised by an adoptive family she moved to Hong Kong when she came of age. She met Bill Skol while he was in the Navy and they were married on August 16, 1968 and came to the United States on November 4, 1968. She and her husband lived in Underhill, VT then moved to Pittsburgh, PA and together they raised two sons, Bill & Nick. She was baptized into the Catholic faith on December 31, 1979 and currently was attending St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Enosburg Falls. She earned her United States Citizenship on December 21, 1984. Mary found great joy in making hand-sewn gifts for her family, friends and even casual acquaintances for the special occasions in their lives. She enjoyed feeding the birds and working in her garden amongst the flowers and vegetables. She never lost her fondness for eating her native Chinese foods. She is survived by her husband William Skol of North Cambridge; 2 sons, Wai-Lun "Bill" Skol his wife Nerissa and their son Aaron Ray Skol all of Phoenix, AZ, and Nicholas Skol his wife Nina and their daughter Gabriella Mary Skol all of Olympia, WA; and her mother-in-law, Florence Slivka of Enosburg Falls. Funeral services will be held Thursday May 28, 2009 at 11:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Rev. Daniel Jordan celebrating the Mass of Christian burial. ....show , age 80, passed away Saturday the 23rd of May, at the Fletcher Allen Health Care facility in Burlington. She was born in Bakersfield, on December 11, 1928 the daughter of the late Merrill & Gladys (Burt) Neveau. Evelyn was a graduate of Enosburg Falls High School and spent most of her working career between the offices of National Life Insurance Co., A.L. Barkyoumb Co. and the Village Sports Shop. She was the owner & operator of the C & E Ittle Gift Shop located in Georgia for 16 years. Evelyn was a member of the Cairo Lady Shiners’. Evelyn was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Clayton E. Barnes Jr. of Georgia; a daughter Maryellen Comtois and her husband Maurice; and their children Samantha & Jacqueline all of Myrtle Beach, SC.; a son Jeffrey Barnes and his companion Jessica Esancy of Swanton; as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Evelyn was predeceased by all 11 of her siblings, 5 brothers: Darwin, Everett, Wilfred, Wendell & Aubrey Neveau; 6 sisters: Muriel Greene, Marion Ryan, Linda Bruzzesi, Ethelyn Perry, Shirley Winslow, and Margariet Perry. Evelyn’s family would like to thank Dr. Landry and his staff along with the PACE Program at Fanny Allen and The Visiting Nurses Association for all of their help with caring for Evelyn. ....show , age 76, passed away with his family at his side on Monday June 1, 2009 at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans. He was born September 13, 1932 in Franklin, VT the son of Howard B. & Gratia (Hammond) Stanley. Bruce was a 1951 graduate of Franklin High School. Following high school Bruce entered the U.S. Marines serving stateside during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge, Bruce took over the operation of the family dairy farm which he eventually ran with his family until he retired in 1996. He also ran a sugaring operation on the farm. He enjoyed traveling, spending winters in Florida, watching & feeding his birds, playing cards, spending time with friends and attending family gatherings. He especially loved to attend his grandchildren’s sporting events and various activities. He was a member of the East Franklin Union Church, American Legion Sheldon Post # 88, St. Albans Co-Op and the Franklin County Sugarmakers Association. He was also a representative the former Northern Farmers Group. He is survived by his wife Rosemary (Jette) Stanley of Highgate Center. They were married November 12, 1955. He is also survived by his children and their spouses, Monica & David Kelley of Franklin, Thomas & Karen Stanley of Montgomery, Deborah & Michael Choquette of Swanton, Anthony & Lynn Stanley of Fairfax, VT/Grantham, NH, Lynne Airoldi of Fairfax, Howard & Laurie Mae Stanley of Sheldon, and Roderick & Laurie Ann Stanley of Sheldon; his grandchildren, Amy, Jill, Avery, JoAnna, Bridgett, Michaella, Bradley, Leah, Ashley, Alex, Allyson, Jenna, Corey, Tyler, Ryan, Bryan, Matthew & Brandon; his great grandchildren, Madysen, Austin & Maverick; his sisters and their spouses, Betty & Stanton Montague of Albany, NY, Shirley & George Kron of Ellicot City, MD and Virginia Crossett of Waterbury; sisters-in-law, Pauline Boudreau and her husband Philip of Fairfield and Madeline McDermott-Miller of Enosburg Falls; a brother-in-law and his wife, Edmund & Beverly Jette of Jacksonville, AR; many nieces, nephews & cousins. She was a resident of Fairfield most of her life and was a member of the Sheldon United Methodist Church. Evelyn was a lifelong farmer, sugarmaker and homemaker. She enjoyed fishing, playing BINGO & cards, traveling, working in her flower gardens and watching baseball especially the Boston Red Sox’s. Most importantly she loved spending time with her family and attending at family gatherings. She is survived by her son and his wife, David & Jeannine Talcott of Fairfield; her daughters, Barbara Breton and her husband Norm of Southington, CT, Hazel Reed, Bernice Hutchins and her husband John, Joyce Austin and her husband Avery all of Sheldon, Sandra Austin and her husband Ballard of Swanton, and Linda Berry of Fairfield; 27 grandchildren, 56 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren; a sister and her husband, Gladys & Philip Provost of Moosup, CT; 2 sisters-in-law, Dorothy Jacobs of Fishtale, MA, and Betty Jacobs of China Lake, ME; several nieces and nephews. SWANTON, VT - Raymond P. "Poncho" Camire
....show , age 61, passed away, Thursday, June 18, 2009 at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington with his family present. Poncho was born November 22, 1947 in Azusa, CA the son of the late Nelson & Arlene (Fournier) Camire. Poncho grew up in the Barre area and attended school at St. Monica’s, Marian High School and finally earning his high school diploma at Spaulding High School. He was a former member of the Vermont National Guard. At an early age Poncho showed his entrepreneurial skills by getting his Auctioneers license in 1959 at the age of 12, being the youngest in Vermont to achieve this. He started his first retail business at the age of 16 while living in Barre and in 1966 at the age of nineteen he started a business known as Poncho’s Submarine’s on lower Church Street in Burlington. Poncho was also a well known auctioneer and peddler in the area for many years and enjoyed attending all kinds of auctions. Most of all he cherished the time he spent with children and loved the roll of "Uncle Poncho". He is survived by his children, Matt Barbieri of Barre, and Alexa - Kristin Camire of Oslo, Norway; his grandson, Ryan Niblett of Burkbunch, TX; his siblings, Marilyn Francis of Colchester, Sandi Murphy of Enosburg Falls, Linda Bove of St. Albans, Pauline Francis of Burlington, Marie Ragan of Sheldon, Nelson "Sonny" Camire of Ocala, FL, Tammy Eatmon of Ocala, FL, and Pamela Morse of Ocala, FL; many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Poncho was predeceased by his wife, Stefanie Griffin. They were married in January of 1972. ....show , age 83, passed away unexpectedly, Friday evening June 19, 2009 at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans. He was born on the Stowe Family Farm in North Berkshire on June 24, 1925, the son of the late Percy & Marion (Perry) Stowe. Growing up in North Berkshire, his father passed away when Leon was 10, at which point he started working on several area dairy farms. He purchased his first ton truck, a Ford, on October 15, 1949 hauling canned milk to the creamery in Enosburg Falls and then in 1960 changed to hauling bulk milk to area creamery’s. He had been the President of Stowe and Sons Trucking, Inc. for 59 years. During this time he also hauled ice from Lake Carmi, bottled gas for A. Brown steel for Mo Aber, pea vine, hay, sawdust, logs, pulp wood, fire wood, wood chips, Christmas trees, bagged coal, for many farmers, loggers and business’s in the area and pet food for Blue Seal. Leon & Marjorie hauled produce up and down the east coast. He was fond of his Ford & International Trucks but loved to drive his last truck the most, a red & white Kenworth. Leon was a member of the Berkshire Center 2nd Congregational Church and was the church’s custodian for over 50 years. He also attended the East Franklin Union Church for the past several years. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie (Johnson) Stowe of Berkshire Center. Leon & Marjorie were married on April 25, 1948. He is also survived by his children, Larry Stowe and his wife Diane of Berkshire Ctr., Bonnie Stowe of East Berkshire, David Stowe and his wife Patricia of Enosburg Falls, and Joyce Dodd and her husband Eric of Berkshire Ctr.; 9 grandchildren, Neil, Jeffrey, Holly, Hannah, Hilary, Anna-Maria, Amber, Autumn & Barry; 8 great grandchildren, Justin, Jarron, Jordon, Michael, Maverick, Alexis, Sierra & Jenessa; 2 brothers, Wayne Stowe of Penacook, NH, and Luther Stowe and his wife Theresa of Winooski; 3 sisters, Lucille Derby of Vernon, CT, Bethel Baranik of Sheldon Springs, and Lorraine Neville of Edgewater, FL; several nieces and nephews. WEST ENOSBURG - Carolyn N. Stimpson
....show , age 65, passed away Sunday morning June 21, 2009 at the Franklin County Rehab Center in St. Albans, following a long illness. She was born July 11, 1943 in Richford the daughter of June (Snell) Savage and the late Wendall Savage. Carolyn was a 1961 graduate of Enosburg Falls High School. She went on to work for Franklin County DHIA until 1985. She then went to work as the Enosburgh Assistant Town Clerk until 1987 when she became Town Clerk, retiring in 2006 after 19 years of faithful and dedicated service. Carolyn was a lover of animals, especially horses and cats. She was also an avid reader and spent a lot of her free time knitting things for her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Roger D. Stimpson of West Enosburg. Carolyn & Roger were married on October 20, 1961. She is also survived by her mother, June Savage of Bakersfield; her sons, Steven Stimpson of West Enosburg, his partner Holly Hiscock and their son Jeffrey of Chateaugay, NY, Christopher Stimpson, his wife Gisele and their daughter Morgan of Enosburg and Daniel Stimpson and his partner Hector Lugo of Palm Springs, CA; her sisters–in-law, Muriel Savage of Colchester, VT & Hillsboro, NJ and Rose Savage of Bakersfield; several nieces and nephews. Besides her father, Carolyn was predeceased by 3 brothers, Allen, Roger & James Savage. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon June 24, 2009 at 3:00 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls with Pastor Patrick Hoadley officiating.
