, 74, of Williston died peacefully November 13, 2009, in Burlington. Mr. Bullis was born September 27, 1935, in Newport, a son of Albert and Pauline Bullis. He owned and operated Larry's Vinyl Repair for 27 years. He is survived by two sons, Larry Bullis Jr. and Randy Bullis and his wife, Cindy; by two stepsons, Roland Shattuck and Robert Shattuck; by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; by his mother, Pauline; by sisters Beverly Paquette and her husband, Claude, and Gloria Parker; by brothers Paul Bullis and Ronald Bullis and his wife, Mary; and by numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Valerie; by his father, Albert; by his sister Arlene; by his brother Bruce; and by his stepfather, Joseph Sourdiff. A memorial service was held November 19 at Eagle Crest in Williston. Burial was held at the family's convenience. , 49, of Barton died peacefully on November 18, 2009, surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Hastings was born April 12, 1960, in Newport, a daughter of Leah Lorimer Kittredge and David Kittredge. In 1996 she married Vernon Hastings, who survives her. She graduated from North Country Union High School in 1978 and was a former Brownie and Cub Scout leader. She enjoyed making ceramics, and she loved being with her grand babies. She is survived by her husband, Vernon, of Newport; by her children: August Button and her husband, Thomas, of Barton, David Rowell and his wife, Elizabeth, of Newport, New Hampshire, and stepson Jacob Williams of Barton; by four grandchildren: Jonathan Nielsen, Chloe Nielsen, and Jesse Button, all of Barton, and Kentin Rowell of Newport, New Hampshire; by her mother, Leah Kittredge, of Beebe Plain; and by her sister Connie Butkovich of Beebe Plain. A celebration of her life was held at the Derby United Church Fellowship Hall November 21 with the Reverend Fred Barker officiating. , 77, of Orleans died November 18, 2009, in Newport. Mrs. Hoadley was born May 8, 1932, in Burke, a daughter of John and Eunice (Labor) Stevens. On September 22, 1952, she married Orison Hoadley Sr., who predeceased her. She loved bingo, the Boston Red Sox, and NASCAR, with her favorite driver being Jeff Gordon. She loved fishing, playing cards, going to Foxwoods Casino, and crocheting. She is survived by her children: Orison Hoadley Jr. and his wife, Judy, Ronald Hoadley and his wife, Theresa, Barb Warner and Cecil, Becky Danforth and Paul, and Stephen and Robie Hoadley; by grandchildren: Lindsay, Brenda, Doug, Joe, Christina, David, Daniel, David, Ben, Ashley, Kelly, and Annie; by 15 great-grandchildren; by her brother Reginald "Joe" Stevens and his wife, Betty, of Kentucky; by special friend Irene; and by newfound friend Mary. She was predeceased by an infant son, Casey; by grandson O.J.; and by her companion Gordon Sargent. Funeral services were held November 22 with Pastor George Lawson officiating. , 71, of Derby, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, died and peacefully left this world on November 18, 2009, with her husband and daughters by her side. Mrs. Toll was born June 21, 1938, in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania, to Ernest and Elizabeth Brown, who predeceased her. In 1956 she married her high school sweetheart, Sidney Toll, and spent the next 53 years as his wife and companion. They spent the early years of their marriage in North Carolina and Pennsylvania, moving to Vermont in 1972. After her husband retired, they enjoyed spending the winter months in Fort Myers, Florida. The most important thing in her life was her family, and she was devoted to them all, always offering her encouragement and support. She had several secretarial jobs, but especially enjoyed the ten years she spent working as the office manager for Dr. William Peck. She was a talented seamstress, and she created beautiful counted cross-stitch pieces and lovely quilts. She discovered a hidden talent for painting during her last winter in Florida. She loved animals, especially her dogs, and she had an expansive elephant collection. She was an expert marksman on her high school rifle team, and she loved to fish and play cards. One of the most exciting experiences of her life was when she met John Denver. She was a member and past officer of the North Country Hospital Auxiliary. She was a member of the United Church of Newport, where she served as a mentor and played in the bell choir. She had a deep faith in God that sustained her. A 26-year breast cancer survivor, she was a strong and courageous woman. She drew from her own struggles to support and guide others through their journeys with breast cancer. She was recognized by the American Cancer Society in 2006 with the Terese Lasser Award in honor of her outstanding service. In 2007 the society presented her with the Courage Award. She is survived by her husband, Sid; by her daughters and their husbands: Joy Toll-Chandler and Paul Chandler of Lake Placid, Florida, and Karen and John Boynton of Belfast, Maine; by her grandsons: John Boynton IV, Adam Palmer, Brian Boynton, and Timothy Palmer; by her brothers-in-law and their wives: Alvin and Gladys Toll and Phillip and Kathleen Toll; and by many nieces and nephews, cousins, and wonderful friends. She was predeceased by her parents; by her sister Ethel Reed; and by her grandson David Boynton. A service celebrating her life was held November 22 at the United Church of Newport. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations in her name be made to the Frontier Animal Society in Orleans, the United Church of Newport food shelf, or a charity of one's choice.

, 87, died November 6, 2009, in Omaha, Nebraska. Mrs. Buck was born January 16, 1922, and was a resident of Derby Line from 1940 to 2008. She is survived by her daughters Roxanna M. Casper of Williamston, North Carolina, and Joan Sylvia and her husband, Ron, of Cape Coral, Florida; by her sons: Douglas Buck and his wife, Linda, of Omaha, Jack Buck and his wife, Angela, of San Antonio, Texas, and Daniel Buck and his wife, Sonja, of Omaha; by her sister Betty Graveline of Greenfield, Massachusetts; by nine grandsons; by five granddaughters; and by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Cordelia (Bovat) Raymond; by seven sisters; by four brothers; by her grandson Chuck Casper; and in 2000 by her husband, Daniel G. "Bing" Buck, after 60 years of marriage. Her nieces and nephews and their families in the Derby Line area - Paula and Barry Thibodeau, Pam and Jim Bothwell, Todd and Julie Bedard - and several of her neighbors spent a great deal of time and effort enriching her life since her husband's death. A memorial service will be held at St. Edward's Church on Saturday, November 21, at 11 a.m. followed by interment at St. Edward's Cemetery and a luncheon at the church.

, of Williamstown, formerly of Newport, died in Berlin on November 13, 2009. Ms. Cavanaugh was a daughter of Earl and Edna (Cheney) Liberty. She attended Sacred Heart Schools and graduated from Champlain College with an associate's degree. She taught special education students at Lake Region Union High School and medical technology at Hartford Technical School. She loved cats and dogs, and she and her companion, Jules Gokey, ran Mountain View Kennels for cats in Williamstown for several years. She was a classic example of a workaholic, holding down several jobs at once, including selling real estate and working at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, among other things. She was always a happy person who made friends easily and enjoyed being around people. She is survived by her companion, Jules; by her son Dennis Roberts and his wife, Bonnie, of Holland; by her daughter Mary Palmer and her husband, Paul, of New Hampshire; by her grandson Matt and his wife, Lacy, of Holland; by great-grandchildren Landon and Alexis; by her brothers Ken Liberty and his wife, Gail, of Florida and Charlie Liberty and his wife, Barb, of New Hampshire; by her sister Janice; and by several nieces and nephews. , 62, of Hyde Park died peacefully on November 7, 2009, in New Haven, Connecticut. Mr. Conklin was born March 4, 1947, to Dr. Clifford T. Conklin Jr. and Marjorie Ruth Brew Conklin of Thomaston, Connecticut. He was the founder and president of Conklin Associates, a firm known for craftsmanship and construction of fine houses. His core staff has been with the company for more than 20 years, most since its inception. He was committed to service to his community and served terms as a member of Hyde Park's elementary school board and planning commission and as a town lister. Authentic and genuine, he touched all he met. People left encounters with him feeling lucky to have just spent time in his company. He was a passionate man - passionate about life, including the written word, music, film, art, food, and especially people. In the words of his son Tai, "Everyone he met meant something to him." He touched all who knew him deeply and leaves his family and friends saddened but greatly appreciative of having him as part of their lives. He is survived by his wife, Sandra; by his son Tai Conklin and his wife, Ciree; by his daughter Chelsea Conklin; by three sisters: Susan Cheffey and her husband, Dale, Christina Martin and her husband, Newell, and Sara Conklin; and by four very special grandchildren: Eli, Roscoe, Jackson, and Georgia. His parents predeceased him. In 1943 she married Arvid Deuse, who survives her. She enjoyed knitting, reading, cooking, and going to the beach. She loved her dogs. Her biggest joy in life was spending time with her children and great-grandchildren; she loved having them over for visits. , 77, of Irasburg died November 13, 2009, in Barton. Mr. Letourneau was born February 20, 1932, in Newport, a son of Napoleon and Albertine (Ouimette) Letourneau. On May 21, 1955, he married Solange Poulin, who predeceased him in 2005. He helped organize area farmers to pick up their milk to go to Massachusetts for the best price at that time. He loved his blueberry bushes and cultivated many plants over the years. He enjoyed being with his family and attending family get-togethers. He and Solange ran the farm together for many years, and it was always a showplace to look at when driving down Route 5. He liked working in his shop and delighted in making sleds out of steel and wood that could be pulled behind four-wheelers, horses, and snow machinery. He loved his dog Kazoo, his pet deer Bucky, and his ducks. , 72, well-known local businessman, died November 14, 2009, in Lebanon, New Hampshire. Mr. Stevens was born July 26, 1937, in Newport, a son of Frederick and Pearl (Stevens) Reynolds. On January 16, 1961, he married Elizabeth Sessions, who predeceased him on March 11, 2008. He graduated from Newport High School and Vaughn Barber College in Hartford, Connecticut. He worked with his brother Morrillo at the City Barber Shop from 1962 until Morrillo's death in 1990. At that time he became sole proprietor. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He held memberships with American Legion Post 21 and Elks Club 2155, and he was a founding member of Herbert B. March Social Club. He was president and "top banana" of the Vegetable Rights Association, through which he enjoyed spreading the "seeds of democracy" with political "pearody." He enjoyed watching Fox News. He loved old cars and attending antique car shows. He loved going to the ocean, and most of all, he loved his family. He is survived by his children Rae-Kim Sheltra and her companion, Dennis Payette, of East Burke and Scott Stevens and his wife, Denise, of St. Johnsbury; by his daughter-in-law Maralena Stevens of Eden; by his grandchildren: Aaron Pierce, Brandon Sheltra, and Zachary, Elizabeth, Caleb, Edward, and Jacob Stevens; by his brothers Carl Stevens of Hartford and Mac Stevens and his wife, Barb, of Deslandes, Florida; by sisters-in-law Gladys Stevens of Lebanon, New Hampshire, and Madeline Stevens of Newport; by brother-in-law Dean Todd of Barton; and by numerous nieces and nephews. , 89, of Glover, beloved husband of Grace Keane Sybes, died November 7, 2009, in Glover. Mr. Sybes was born in Rotterdam, Holland, on March 4, 1920, and came to the United States when he was 13 years old. He grew up in New York. He joined the Merchant Marines and spent many years on the oceans of the world before his retirement. He was a jack-of-all trades who enjoyed going to yard sales and picking up and fixing various items. He enjoyed life with his wife, Grace. In his later years, he and Grace moved to Vermont to be close to their daughter. He was a man who could strike up a conversation with anyone, no matter where he was, and he was always very friendly to everyone. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Grace, of Glover; by his daughter Gracie Caslani of Glover; by his son John Sybes and his wife, Karen, of New York; by his grandchildren: Alan Ball and his companion, Jammie, of New York, Stacey Ball of Illinois, and Stephanie and Samantha Sybes; by great-granddaughter Kayli Ball of Illinois; and by his special friend Tonya, who is also a friend of his daughter's. , 88, died Friday, November 13, 2009, at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine. Mr. Webster was born August 21, 1921, in Melbourne, Quebec, a son of Ernest M. and Louise J. Samson Webster. He graduated from Brighton High School in 1940. He served three years in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1945. On September 2, 1945, he married Maida B. Hinman in Newport. He retired from the Canadian National Railway after 44 years of service, including his military time. He was a past master of Island Pond Lodge 44 of Free and Accepted Masons, a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and a member of the National Rifle Association. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Maida; by his three sons and daughters-in-law: Doug and Janet Webster of Morris, Connecticut, Bruce and Nancy Webster of Colchester, and Steve and Kathy Webster of New Gloucester, Maine; by six grandchildren; by ten great-grandchildren; and by brother and sister-in-law Richard and Charlotte Webster of Las Vegas, Nevada. He was predeceased by his parents and by his sister Muriel Bly of Newport. A memorial service in Mr. Webster's honor will be held Saturday, November 21, at Gracelawn Memorial Park in Auburn, Maine.

, 89, of Morgan died and went to be with the Lord in Heaven on November 7, 2009. Mrs. Jordan was born December 30, 1919, in Watertown, New York, a daughter of Edwin M. and Esther Crosier Hughes. She was raised in Utica, New York, and graduated from Utica Free Academy. In 1983 she attended the New York State College of Home Economics at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. She was employed as a dietician at Utica Hospital until June 8, 1941, when she married Dr. Clarence A. Jordan. They established a veterinary practice in Newport in August 1941. She actively assisted him in his medical practice there for 21 years and for another 25 years after they moved to their farm in Morgan in 1962. Her husband predeceased her on April 24, 1987. She served as a 4-H leader of two Newport clubs for a number of years, teaching cooking, sewing, crafts, and leadership skills to many Newport area girls. She was a member of the Morgan United Church and the Morgan Circle of Friends. She especially enjoyed her family, her 11 grandchildren, and her 16 great-grandchildren. An appreciation of music enhanced her life. She occasionally served as organist at the Morgan United Church. Some of her grandchildren have fond memories of her playing the piano and teaching them songs when they were children. Her son James Jordan of Morgan and his wife, Sharlyn, survive her, and they operate the farm in Morgan. She is survived by five daughters: Carol Pare of Clearwater Beach, Florida, Janice Jordan Rosenberger of Newport, Kathleen Audet Provost and her husband, Donald, of Barre, Joan DuMoulin and her husband, Brian, of Stanstead, Quebec, and Jean Jordan of Morgan; and by her brother Orval Hughes of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 11, at the Morgan United Church with the Reverend Mike Desena and the Reverend John Genco officiating. Frederic "Fred" Whitcher King

, 87, died at his home in Lyme, New Hampshire, on Monday, November 2, 2009. Mr. King was born in Barton on January 4, 1922, the eldest of six children of Walter and Doris (Whitcher) King. He grew up in West Glover, where his elementary school years were completed at the Wright School. After graduating from Barton Academy, he worked on the family farm. He met his future wife, Catherine Doyle, when she started teaching at the Wright School. They married July 6, 1943, in Albany. He was employed by Clarence Young in West Glover and later by Hackett Farms in Derby Line. While employed by Mr. Hackett, he had the opportunity to hone his carpentry skills and, after moving to West Burke, he started working for himself as a carpenter. When work was hard to find in the Northeast Kingdom, the family moved to the Upper Valley where he found employment with Blair Construction and subsequently with Millard Uline. In 1959, he started his own construction business and built numerous homes and barns in the area. He was a selectman of Lyme from 1967 to 1973. During his children's growing years, he was a staunch supporter of their activities in music, sports, drama, and academics. As his family expanded, he welcomed gathering the family for holiday celebrations and reunions. He enjoyed deer hunting and was an avid snowmobiler for many years. In 2002, the New Hampshire Snowmobile Association honored him with its Groomer of the Year Award in recognition of the hours he'd spent preparing trails for the enjoyment of other snowmobile enthusiasts. He and his wife frequented many of the area's town dances. He enjoyed gardening, camping, exploring back roads, and playing card games with family and friends. He appreciated being able to view deer, turkeys, and bear from the rural home where he resided for almost 60 years. He was predeceased by his wife of 65 years in January; by his parents; and by his sisters: Janice Butler, Barbara Perron Kinsley, Carolyn Perron, and Sherry Perron Muller. He is survived by his children: Nancy Fellows of Hopkinton, New Hampshire, Martha Jones of Manassas Park, Virginia, Cynthia Baggett of Alexandria, Virginia, Sandra Simkulet of Andover, Kansas, Stephen King of Tolland, Connecticut, Colleen King of Lebanon, New Hampshire, and Susan Unsworth of Sunapee, New Hampshire; by his 12 grandchildren; by eight great-grandchildren; by his brother and sister-in-law Donald and Harriet King of West Glover; and his brother-in-law Arland Butler of Irasburg. Mrs. LaFountain was born at Cottage Hospital in Barton on September 17, 1949, a daughter of Winston and Ernestine (Wright) Dewing. , 58, of Derby died suddenly on Sunday, November 8, 2009, after a courageous fight against chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and emphysema. Mrs. Robishaw was born July 30, 1951, in Ipswich, Massachusetts, a daughter of Louis E. Nadeau and Patricia Barber. She graduated from Newport High School in 1969. On July 7, 1977, she married Joseph L. Robishaw. She worked for Bel-Aire Quality Care Nursing Center for 12 years and then Northeast Kingdom Human Services, where she celebrated 20 years of service last year. She was a dedicated person who loved what she did and excelled in her profession, which was more than just a career - it was her life's mission. Her fellow employees and the staff members she supervised respected and admired her. More importantly, the individuals her program served loved her. As a child she studied tap dance. Her love for dance never ended, and she gained immense joy by watching her grandchildren, nieces, and friends at dance recitals. For two years she took lessons at the North Country School of Dance and performed at its annual dance recital. As a young woman she rode and showed horses in gymkhana competitions. She was a very talented and successful horse rider. As the children around her became interested in electronics, she purchased her own Nintendo 64, researched each game, and enjoyed being able to sit and really play with them. She would spend hours with the kids, her husband, and best friend until she finally mastered each game. She especially enjoyed gardening and had a special talent for making everything around her look beautiful. Her flower gardens were the envy of all her neighbors. She loved working outside in her gardens and sharing her perennials with friends and family. She was an excellent cook and took great pride in knowing her grandchildren always looked forward to Grammy Donna's kielbasa and banana bread at every family get-together. Her true passion in life was spending time with her family. She had hundreds of friends who were also considered family to her. She was front and center at every hockey, soccer and basketball game, dance recital, school concert, and awards assembly. She was their biggest fan and traveled miles and miles to watch every game. She made it her life focus to ensure that everyone around her was happy and knew how important they were to her. She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Joseph; by their children: Aimee Bonin of Derby, Joanna Robishaw of Derby, David Robishaw and his wife, Allison, of Newport, Pam Croft of Ohio, and Beth Corliss of Newport; by her grandchildren: Jessica and Jennifer Robishaw, Ellis and Joseph Rushford, Michelle Provencher, Ashley Robishaw, Daniel Corliss, Rochelle, Nicole, Kayla, and Garrett Croft; by two great-grandchildren, Dezirae Brault and Braelynn Stevens; by her mother, Patricia Lezon, of Newport; by her stepmother, Marilyn Nadeau, of Coventry; by her stepgrandmother Alma Blay of Coventry; by her mother-in-law, Barbara Robishaw, of Derby; by her brother Richard Cook of Massachusetts; by her sisters: Rachael Cook of Newport, Gina Kahlstrom and her husband, David, of Newport, Christina Montminy of Coventry, Ginny Gray and her companion, Nate Kelley, of Newport Center, and Tina Nadeau of Connecticut; by several special nieces, nephews, and great-nieces; and by special friends Deb Cogan, her husband, John, and their daughters Danielle and Gabrielle. , 51, of Glover died peacefully on November 5, 2009, in Glover. Mrs. Sample was born August 25, 1958, in St. Albans, the youngest daughter of Harlan and Gila (Fleury) Domina. On June 23, 1979, she married Gary James Sample, who survives her. She was a graduate of Enosburg High School. She worked at Ethan Allen, where she met her husband. She was a librarian at the Glover Public Library, and she enjoyed the After 5 Club and book discussion groups. She enjoyed crocheting, going to the races with her husband, and spending time with her dog Daisy. , 79, died gracefully on October 26, 2009, at the Union House Nursing Home in Glover after living a life of devout faith and rising above the challenges of multiple sclerosis for more than 50 years. Mrs. Bergeron was born September 15, 1930, in Brownington Center, a daughter of Albert and Mary (Niquette) St. Pierre. She is survived by her sons Paul D. Bergeron and his wife, Victoria, of Concord and Wayne Bergeron of Newport; by five grandchildren; by nine great-grandchildren; by her sister Rena St. Pierre of Glover; by many nieces and nephews and their families; and by her extended family of caregivers at Union House. She was predeceased by her parents; by her brother Delphis St. Pierre; by her sister Eva Young and her husband, Wilfred; and by infant brother George St. Pierre. , 97, of Derby Line died November 2, 2009, at Maple Lane Nursing Home in Barton, where she had resided for the past year and a half. Mrs. Goodwin was born July 11, 1912, in Avon, Connecticut, a daughter of Clair and Lena (Zaugg) Wilde. On January 30, 1937, she married Ervin Reuben Goodwin, who predeceased her on March 30, 2008. They made their home in Nepaug, Connecticut, until 1969, when they moved to Vermont to be closer to their children. While living in Connecticut, she worked as a relief mailman and as a housekeeper to various families in the area. She continued her housekeeping trade when she moved to Derby Line. She was a seventh-degree member of the Grange and belonged to Eureka Grange 62 in New Hartford, Connecticut. She spent summers at the camp on Holland Pond. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens, watching the birds, and staging "mock" weddings and hat parties. She was a past member of the Women's Society of Stanstead South Church, the North Country Swingers, and the Holland Historical Society. In later years she withdrew from outside activities so she could enjoy more family get-togethers and spend more time with her loved ones. She is survived by two children, Brenda Goodwin Heath of Barton and Randolph Reuben Goodwin and his wife, Constance, on Antwerp, New York; by eight grandchildren: Robert D. Heath and his wife, Rachel, of Chicester, New Hampshire, Robyn D.H. Churchill and her husband, George, of Barton, Randolph R. Goodwin Jr. and his wife, Kathleen, of Antwerp, Ervin E. Goodwin and his wife, Janellen, of Westfield, Deborah D. Goodwin of St. Johnsbury, Natalie N. Polizzo and her husband, Nicholas, of Clarksville, Tennessee, Lena L. , 58, of Suffolk, Virginia, died Friday, October 30, 2009. Mr. Naramore was born in Lowell on March 28, 1951, to Blanche Knowles and William Manley Naramore. He graduated from North Country Union High School in Newport in 1969 and studied architecture at Vermont Technical College in Randolph. He and his wife, Barbara, owned Naramore Construction Company, Incorporated, a custom design and remodeling firm, for more than 30 years in Fairfax County and Hampton Roads, Virginia, and in Chittenden County. He was a true craftsman who loved seeing clients' dreams for their homes come to life through his work. He loved being outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He loved spending time on the John Finnegan Farm in Lowell, where he and his friends recently constructed a bridge that crosses the Missisquoi River. The essence of his life is captured through a near lifelong companionship with Barbara, his devotion to his son Justin, and an enduring love for his family, friends, and his work. He shared his endearing and ever-present, dry sense of humor by delighting everyone with his eye-catching T-shirts, his Vermonter accent, and his insightful comebacks. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Barbara Finnegan; by his beloved son Justin; by sisters: Mary Speroni of Williston, Nancy Naramore of Montpelier, and Sister M. Clare Naramore of Burlington; and by several brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and lifelong beloved friends. He was predeceased by his parents; and by brothers Robert Naramore and Donald Naramore. Burial will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 7, in the Mountainview Cemetery in Lowell, followed by a reception at St. Ignatius Parish Hall in Lowell. , 92, of Newport died peacefully on October 28, 2009, in Newport. Mrs. Prive was born July 4, 1917, in Berlin, New Hampshire, a daughter of Frank and Mary Ann (Roy) Lachance. On September 12, 1955, she married Hector D. Prive, who predeceased her on January 4, 2002. She was a graduate of Berlin High School. She was a member of St. Mary, Star of the Sea, Catholic Church in Newport and the Veterans Railroad Terminal Association. She enjoyed birdwatching, working in her flower and vegetable gardens, and being with her family and children. She enjoyed talking with her friends and family on the telephone, and she loved her daughter Lisa's cat Pretty Girl. She is survived by children Lisa Ann Prive of Newport and Leonard Prive of Burlington; and by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Bernard Prive Sr.; by four sisters: Simone Kline, Colette Moore, Madeline Lurvey, and Gerry Titeus; and by three brothers: Frank, Sylvio, and Eddy Lachance. , 85, of Stannard died unexpectedly on Saturday, October 31, 2009, at home. Mr. Richardson was born September 17, 1924, in Orange, a son of R. Henry and Katie M. (Richardson) Richardson. He graduated from Bradford Academy in 1942 and continued his education at the Vermont State School of Agriculture in Randolph, graduating in 1943. On June 15, 1948, he married Una Lou Hutchins at the United Methodist Church in Greensboro Bend. In his earlier years, he was a herdsman for the Quinibeck Camp in Fairlee. He was an artificial insemination technician and later a field man for the northern area of the New Hampshire-Vermont Breeding Association, which later became the Eastern Breeders' Association. In 1961 he and his wife purchased the family dairy farm in Stannard from her parents, Frank and Vera Hutchins. In 1981 the livestock was sold, and Mr. Richardson drove a lumber truck until he retired in the mid-1990s. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Greensboro Bend and the Touch of Grace Church in East Hardwick. Other memberships include Orleans Lodge 55 of Free and Accepted Masons and the Order of the Eastern Star Orient Chapter 13, both of Barton, Riverside Grange of West Topsham, Crystal Lake Grange of Barton, and Caspian Lake Grange of Greensboro. He was a longtime member of the Hazen Squares, which later became Buffalo Mountain Dancers, where he enjoyed square dancing and calling. He was leader for the Greensboro Dairy 4-H Club for several years. He enjoyed visiting with people, playing cards, and telling stories. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Una Lou; two daughters, Karen R. Miller and her husband, John, of Stannard and Diana Richardson of Plymouth, Massachusetts; three grandchildren: Sarah Miller and her husband, Nathan Lamarre-Vincent, of Somerville, Massachusetts, Kristen Miller and her husband, Benjamin Carbonetti, of Vernon, Connecticut, and Matthew Miller of Athens, Georgia; one great-grandson, Cormac Lamarre-Vincent, of Somerville; and several cousins, including Kermit Richardson of Orange and Herma R. Clement of Barre. He was predeceased by his parents. Visiting hours will be held Thursday, November 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Northern Vermont Funeral Home in Hardwick. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 6, at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Greensboro Bend. Burial will be in the family lot in the Stannard Cemetery. Mr. Seymour was born April 30, 1925, in Groveton, New Hampshire, a son of Frank and Florence (Willey) Seymour. On May 30, 1953, he married Gisele Camille, who survives him. He was employed by the H.P. Hood Company for 35 years and Union Butterfields for ten years. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served his country during the Korean War. He enjoyed flying radio control airplanes, boating, archery, and black powder shooting. He held memberships with American Legion Post 21 of Newport and Alfred Pepin Post 78. He is survived by his wife, Gisele Seymour, of Derby; by three children: Gary Seymour and his wife, Brenda, of Newport, Nancy Dowling and her husband, Joe, of Newport News, Virginia, and Lolita Seymour of Newport; by three grandchildren: U.S. Army Warrant Officer Ryan Dowling of Newport News, U.S. Army Warrant Officer Alan Dowling of Hawaii, and Eric Dowling of Newport News; and by a great-grandchild. He was predeceased by half-brother Albert Willey; and by sister Lila Snay. Mr. Westgate was born August 8, 1963, in Brockton, Massachusetts, a son of Arlene Tice and Richard Edwood Westgate Sr. He was a carpenter and painter for Russwood Interior Design Company in Colchester. He was a very sociable person, telling stories and jokes, being the life of the party, and making people laugh. Most of all, he was proud of his family and friends and his Native American heritage. He enjoyed watching the History Channel.
