, 71, of Summer Street, Lancaster, N.H., died Thursday morning, Sept. 3, 2009, at the Concord Hospital, Concord, N.H. Mr. Gainer was born in Lancaster on Nov. 19, 1937, the son of Linwood J. and Emily M. (Rich) Gainer. In 1966 he married Virginia A. Sullivan of Shoreham, Vt. Bob was a lifetime resident of Lancaster having attended Lancaster Academy and later Berlin Trade School. He worked as a truck driver all his life in the logging, construction and paper mill industries. At one time he hauled logs for Reuben Washburn and for many years drove truck for Diamond International, James River and Groveton Paper Board. For many years he worked at the Groveton Speedway for Mike Beattie. He also served with the National Guard. For 20-plus years he has been a director at the Lancaster Fair where he was superintendent of the grounds. His loyalty and commitment to the Lancaster Fair Association gave him a purpose in life these past few years. Bob enjoyed traveling, casinos, and playing cards with his family and friends. He was also an avid NASCAR fan. His loving family members include his devoted and loving wife of 43 years Virginia of Lancaster; a daughter, Jill M. Gainer of Manchester, N.H.; three sons, James Gainer and his wife Tricia, Joel Gainer and Jon Gainer all of Lancaster; a brother Richard and wife Katherine of Lancaster; a sister Carol (Gainer) Beaudoin and husband Edward of Contoocook; a grandson and granddaughter; many nieces, nephews, cousin, and many, many friends. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, Sept. 8, from 4 to 8 p.m., at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday morning at 11 at All Saints Church, Lancaster. Rev. Raymond Ball, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Summer Street Cemetery. , age 48 of West St., Jefferson, Maine, passed away Saturday, Sept. 5, 2009, at MaineGeneral Medical Center following a long illness. She was born in Littleton, N.H., on Jan. 29, 1961, a daughter of the late James P. and Louise B. (Chase) Gunnip. Mrs. Arsenault was a graduate of White Mountain Regional High School in Whitefield, N.H., and was a homemaker for most of her life. She is survived by her husband, Paul E. Arsenault of Jefferson; a son, Benjamin Arsenault of Jefferson; a daughter, Melissa Arsenault and her fiancé Chuck Stephenson of Weeks Mills; a brother, James Gunnip of Lancaster, N.H.; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many caring friends. At her request, there will be no public visiting hours. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held on Friday, September 11, at 11 a.m., at Plummer Funeral Home, 983 Ridge Road. , 51, of Sutton, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family, Monday, Sept. 7, 2009. Born March 22, 1958, in Concord, the son of Shirley and Dearth (Gaudette) Lund, Alton grew up in the Concord area attending Concord High School. He married Pamela J. Brown on Oct. 2, 1982, in West Burke. He was an active member of the Lyndon Bible Church. He was a tractor trailer driver for many years most recently working for Pike Industries. Alton loved and enjoyed spending time with his family; he loved tractor trailers and motorcycles. He spent many hours riding the back roads of Victory, Granby, Concord and surrounding areas. He especially enjoyed the Toys for Tots ride each year. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, Willoughby Lake, and watching his son box. Alton is survived by his loving wife of nearly 27 years, Pamela Lund; three children, Joseph Lund, Travis Lund, and Autumn Lund, all of Sutton; a sister-in-law Betty Lund of Miles Pond; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Wayne Lund, a sister Ruby Priest, and his father in law Arthur E. Brown. Calling hours will be Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Lyndon Bible Church. A memorial service will be at the church Thursday, 11 a.m. with Pastor Joel Battaglia, officiating. Interment will be in the Newark Cemetery. , 85, of Lyndon Center, died Sunday evening Sept. 6, 2009, at the Pines Rehabilitation and Health Center in Lyndon. She was born June 1, 1924, in Fort Fairfield, Maine, the daughter of M. Philip and Ethel (Chamberlain) Roberts. She was schooled in Maine, received her bachelors degree from Colby College in Waterville, Maine, and received her Master's Degree in Music Education from Columbia Teachers College in New York. She married Roy A. Christophersen "Mr. Chris." He had been the music teacher at Lyndon State College from 1955-1963, and from 1963-1979 he taught at Lyndon Institute. Sarah was a musician, playing the flute and piano. She was a longtime member of the Lyndonville Military Band as well as the St. Johnsbury Town Band. She had also been a member of the Northeast Kingdom Orchestra and enjoyed attending the Northeast Kingdom concert series. Reading, completing crossword puzzles, playing chess, being out-of-doors, walking in the woods, feeding and watching wild birds, spotting a 4-leaf clover and following the Boston Red Sox, brought her great pleasure. Survivors include her two daughters, Tina Christophersen and her life partner Mike Brown, and Terry Christophersen and companion Dan Trifan; a granddaughter, Ariane Roberto; a brother, Philip Roberts; nieces, nephews, and several close friends. She was predeceased by her husband Roy Christophersen on Sept. 27, 1983; and her brother David Roberts. Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. , 61, of North Troy, passed away on Aug. 29, 2009, surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 11, 1948, in Morgan a son of Joseph and Myrtie (Woodard) Provoncha. He was a graduate of St. Johnsbury Trade School. On May 22, 1976, he married Louise Cyr, who survives him. Provoncha was a sander for Green Mountain Custom Finish in Newport. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Wayne enjoyed NASCAR racing, going to the races in New Hampshire and also watching them on television. His favorite driver was #48. He enjoyed making model cars, he liked old cars, he enjoyed growing flowers, and he was an avid reader. Wayne was devoted to his family, and everybody who knew him said he was a kind man with a big heart. He will be terribly missed. He is survived by his wife, Louise Provoncha of North Troy; two children, Kelly and Shawn Provoncha, both of North Troy; three brothers, Stanley Provoncha of Washington, Dale Provoncha and his wife Sharon of Westfield, and Larry Provoncha and his wife Carmelita of New York; three sisters, June Provoncha of Florida, Madeline Dickson of Hardwick, and Shirley Achilles and her husband Everett of Florida. He will be especially missed by his little dog Travis, who was his constant companion. Wayne was pre-deceased by his mother and father, his brother Rod Provoncha, and his sisters Dorothy Hayes and Margaret Provoncha. He was buried in North Troy Village Cemetery with military honors. , 69, of Nashua, N.H., passed away on Sunday, Sept. 6, 2009, at St. Joseph Hospital. Cecilia was born in Lancaster, N.H., on Dec. 28, 1939, the youngest daughter of the late Myron and Bertha (Bishop) Parks. She was the wife of Millard "Joe" Newell of Nashua. Cecilia was a longtime Nashua resident and was employed by JP Morgan Financial for many years. She was very involved with her family, especially her grandchildren, and enjoyed boating, camping, traveling, square dancing and line dancing. She was an active member of the Arlington Street United Methodist Church. Cecilia was predeceased by four brothers, Lester Parks, Leeton Parks, Howard Parks and Dean Parks; two sisters, Izalee Jacques and Hilda Placey; as well as two great-grandchildren, Peyton Jaymes Newell and Peter Joseph Newell. Besides her husband of 50 years, Cecilia is survived by two daughters, Donna Kennedy and her husband Patrick of Nashua, N.H., and Cynthia Newell of Nashua, N.H.; two sons, Keith Newell and his wife Joanne of Nashua, N.H., Eric Newell and his girlfriend Amy Walker of Litchfield, N.H.; three grandchildren, Tara Newell and her fiancé Brad Grinley, Emily Newell and Zachary Newell; one great-grandchild, McKenzie Newell; three sisters, Natalie Hayden of Somerville, Mass., Bea Dennen of Melrose, Mass., and Mahlua Suitor of Whitefield, Mass.; two brothers, Foster Parks and his wife Marion of Essex Junction, Vt., Martin Parks and his wife Claire of St. Johnsbury, Vt.; and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the East Concord Methodist Church Saturday, Sept. 12, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at the St. Johnsbury Center Cemetery. Pastor John Somers will officiate. 78, died at his home in Lisbon, N.H., Saturday, Sept. 5, 2009. He was born in Lyman, N.H., the son of Raymond Richards and Doris Sargent Richards. He joined the Navy in February 1952. He served on the USS Cadmus AR 14 based in Norfolk, Va. He married Elaine M. Drapeau May 31, 1952 in Littleton, N.H., and they lived in Norfolk for four years while he was in the service. They returned to Littleton to live. He had his own truck for some time hauling gravel. He farmed on the Willowdale Farm, and shipped milk and was a mechanic for G. A. Clark & Sons in Lisbon for many years. He opened his own business of Small Engines & Repair Shop. Later he went to work for Sanels and Bonds Auto Shop doing deliveries. After he became ill he would love to go riding with the guys in the truck delivering. That really made his day. He always said he was going back to work. He like to fish, hunt, snowmobile (was a member of the Lisbon Stump Jumpers Club), but his most favorite was building his race cars and going racing. He was pre-deceased by a brother William Richards and a sister Margaret Tewksbury. He is survived by his wife Elaine Richards of 57 years; three sons, Gary Richards and wife Jan of Chesapeake, Va., Michael Richards and wife Cindy of Lisbon, and David Richards and wife Helen of Bath, N.H.; three daughters, Diane Thompson and husband George of Littleton, Debora Shifflett and husband Richard, and Laurie Rueda of Littleton; 11 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; two brothers, Richard (Tink) Richards, Lisbon, and Robert Richards, Littleton; a sister Alice Moulton (foster sister) Lyman, N.H.; plus nieces and nephews. A Graveside service will be held on Monday, Sept. 14, 2009, at 11 a.m., at the St. Rose Cemetery with Military Honors. , 75, of Meadows Road, Jefferson, N.H., died Tuesday evening Sept. 8, 2009, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon. Mrs. Noyes was born in Whitefield, N.H., on Aug. 31, 1934, a daughter of Stephen and Belle (Walker) Sheridan. Kay was a lifetime resident of Jefferson and was a 1952 graduate of Lancaster Academy. For a time she worked at the Spaulding Inn in Whitefield and for over 25 years she was employed by the White Mountain Regional School District where she worked in the kitchen. In her spare time she made wedding cakes. She was a member of the Jefferson Adult Citizens, the Jefferson Chorus and when her children were in school she was a member of the PTA. Family members include her husband of 56 years Donald E. Noyes of Jefferson; a daughter Dawn Susan Miller and her husband Marc of Jefferson; two sons, Stephen Noyes of Jefferson and Tim Noyes and his wife Jill also of Jefferson; her grandson Adam Noyes of Jefferson; two granddaughters, Shannon and Baillie Knecht of Lancaster; and several nieces and nephews. Two brothers, Robert Sheridan and Stephen Sheridan, four sisters Nellie Ingerson, Phyllis Smith, Bertha Hatfield and Isabelle Sharkey predeceased her. Frederick James Maynard

, of 79 Green St. in St. Johnsbury, died peacefully at home on Sept. 9, 2009, at the age of 86 years. He was born in Cabot on April 24, 1923, the son of Fred Irvin Maynard and Julia Agnes Sinon Maynard. He worked for 20 years for the St. Johnsbury and Lamoille county Railroad and another 18 years for the Canadian Pacific Railroad. He is survived by Betty Lou Petty Maynard, his wife of over 60 years; eight children, Stephen Maynard and his twin children James and Susannah, Sandra Maynard Beck and her son Paul, Cheryl Maynard and her husband Dr. Anthony Mountain, Charles Maynard, Dr. Stuart Maynard and his wife Laurie, Christopher Maynard and his wife Christine and children Jason, Heather, Jennifer and Delvin, Craig Maynard, and Sarah Maynard. He had two great-granddaughters, Skylar Maynard and Hannah Bates; and great-grandsons Brandon Bates, Adam Beck, Remy Frederick Maynard and Ryan Baublitz. Other survivors include sisters Freda Leonard, Isabel Montgomery, Theresa Remick and Virginia DeCelle and her husband Paul; and many special nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his parents; two sisters, Doris Houston and Elizabeth "Buffie" Lackie; brothers Ernest, Martin, Kenneth and Darcy Maynard; brothers-and sisters-in-law, Paul and Elaine Petty, JoAnn Petty Nichols and Paul and Marlene Petty Rock. He was extremely proud of his children's accomplishments and of the fact that all eight of them had attended college - two with masters' degrees and one with a PhD. and that Stephen, the eldest, works for the U.N. at the moment in Afghanistan. He was a very unselfish, always putting his family's needs ahead of his own. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Saint Andrew's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Jean MacDonald and the Rev. Jay Sprout participating.

, 51, of Newport, formerly of Island Pond, died Sept. 3, 2009 at her home. She was born June 17, 1958 in Island Pond a daughter of Margaret (McQuire) Moore and the late Robert Moore. Family members state that she always opened her home to others. She is survived by three children, Robyn Carmen and Molly Coulter both of St. Johnsbury and Justin Pierce of Anchorage, Ala.; her mother Margaret Moore of Newport; two brothers, William Moore of Florida, and Brian Moore of Brownington; and a sister Helen LeDoux of Manchester, N.H. She was predeceased by a brother Gary. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11, 2009 at the Curtis-Britch-Converse-Rushford Funeral Home, 1199 Railroad St., Island Pond with the Rev. Frank Conners officiating. Internment will follow in Lakeside Cemetery, Island Pond. of St. Johnsbury passed away peacefully at home Saturday evening, Sept. 12, 2009 with her family at her side. She was born in St. Johnsbury on March 24, 1942, the daughter of Richard and Claire (Schoppe) Dunne. She graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy in 1960 as the valedictorian of her class. Vicky was employed for many years as a legal secretary by David Weinstein. Vicky was class agent for the St. J.A. class of 1960. She took her job to heart and kept the class close, not only with the standard five-year unions, but organized many mini-reunions throughout the years as well. Vicky could be seen in the neighborhood walking her dog Sophie who will miss her greatly. Some of her fondest memories were of the times spent at the ocean in Ogunquit, Maine. She was able to attend a Red Sox game at Fenway this past April. She was a big Boston sports fan and carried on her love of sports she learned from her father, a former sports editor for The Caledonian-Record. She was predeceased by her husband Richard C. Warren on June 10, 2005; her father Richard John Dunne, and her mother Claire Dunne Johnson. She is survived by two daughters, Michele Taylor and husband Ray of St. Johnsbury, and Daniele Storm and husband Greg of Southington, Conn.; four grandchildren, Zachary Taylor, Kaylee, Jack, and Samantha Storm; one sister Kerry Grenier and husband Robert of Walpole, N.H.; Kerry's two sons, Marc and Steven Grenier and their families; two special cousins Jean and Robert; and three step-children, Linda Coburn, Tom Warren, and Diana Webster. Dear friends and classmates Sharon Heidemann, Linda Garey, Claire Wheeler, and others have been very caring and steadfast during her illness over the past year and a half. Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church. Committal services will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. There will be no visiting hours. Please omit flowers.
