, 86, most recently of the Coos County Nursing Hospital, West Stewartstown, N.H., and formerly of Gilman, Vt., died Saturday evening March 21, 2009, at the nursing hospital. Mrs. Pelletier was born in Westfield, Vt., on Nov. 10, 1922, the fourth child and only daughter of William Henry and Leafie Eliza (Olin) Merritt. Orphaned at a young age and raised by cousins, she moved frequently, which may have lead to her ability to make friends wherever she went. She married twice, first to Lorenzo Edgar Barrett and secondly to Eudore Joseph Pelletier to whom she was married to for 51 years and who adopted her children when they married on Nov. 4, 1955. He predeceased her on Sept. 5, 2007. Glenna made her home in Gilman for over 50 years followed by Bethlehem, Groveton and the Coos County Nursing Hospital in West Stewartstown where she contentedly spent the last years of her life receiving round the clock nurturing and attention. She held various jobs throughout her lifetime including that of a waitress at the Gilman Hotel where she met her husband "Eddie" when he stayed there while helping to build the Moore Dam in Littleton. She also worked in housekeeping, laundry and care taking positions and after retirement became known as the glue which held Gilman Senior Center together while operating "The Boutique." , 91, of Jefferson Street, Barre, and a former Cabot resident, died Wednesday, March 18, 2009, at the Berlin Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born on June 24, 1917, in Brewster, N.Y., she was the daughter of Joseph and Annie (Nolan) McGarry. She attended schools in Brewster and graduated from Brewster High School in 1935. Marie moved to New York City in 1944. She worked for Bonwit Teller and then joined Macy's Herald Square Little Shop Boutique, where she remained until she married Sven Christensen on Sept. 24, 1955. She traveled with her husband in his business throughout the country and abroad in Europe and the Middle East. In 1976, they retired to Cabot where she was the librarian from 1981 to 1983. Following his death in 1983, she moved to Barre. Her memberships included St. Monica Catholic Church of Barre, the St. Vincent DePaul Society, Barre Senior Citizens, National Council of Senior Citizens, R.S.V.P, the Central Vermont Medical Center Auxiliary, and a former member of the Clover Garden Club of Montpelier. Marie enjoyed reading, gardening, and traveling. She is survived by two nieces, Diane Meleshkewich and her husband, Peter of Hopewell Junction, N.Y., and their family and Jean Bradshaw and her husband, Jerry of Charlestown, Ind., and their family; a sister-in-law, Ellen May of Waterbury, and her family; several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her step-son, Paul Christensen; a sister, Kathleen McGarry Petersen; and a brother, Vincent McGarry. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 28, 2009, at noon in St. Monica Catholic Church in Barre. Interment will take place at a later date in the Durant Cemetery in Cabot at the convenience of her family. There are no calling hours. Roscoe "Rocky" E. Lyndes

, age 72, passed away suddenly on Thursday, March 26, 2009, at the Littleton Regional Hospital. Roscoe was born on Aug. 10, 1936, a son to Richard and Myrna (McGuire) Lyndes, in Lisbon, N.H. Rocky loved and adored his grandchildren and was loved and adored back. You would always find him tinkering on his Mack truck in the dooryard, feeding the squirrels, or fixing up the Rocky Lyndes Memorial Park. He served in the U. S. Navy. Rocky leaves his wife of 46 years, Irene Lyndes; his daughters, Linda Farnsworth and her companion, Matthew Roy of Rumney, N.H., and Coleen Barr and companion, Ken Corliss of Littleton, N.H.; grandchildren, Jennifer, Elizabeth, and Robert Farnsworth, Matthew Belmore, Allison Barr, Joseph Barr, and Ashley Belmore; great-grandchildren Joshua Riach, Larrissa Bennett, and Yamil Lopez; and five brothers, Richard, David, Floyd, Kenneth, and Fred. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 30, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Pillsbury Funeral Home located at 101 Union Street in Littleton. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 31, at the First United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. with Pastor Sam Newton officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rocky's memory to a charity of one's choice.

passed away peacefully on March 22, 2009, at The Pines Rehabilitation and Health Center in Lyndonville. She had lived in the Pearl House on Main Street in St. Johnsbury for four years. She was the daughter of Ludger and Ann Rondeau of St. Johnsbury. Barbara was born in Newmarket, N.H., on Jan. 1, 1926. She is survived by two sisters, Helen R. Barney of St. Johnsbury and Shirley Brittell of Clinton, Mass. She was predeceased by her brother, Robert E. Rondeau and her husband, Frank L. Nason. She and her husband and their three children were long-time residents of Camarillo, Calif.
Jennie V. Bellavance

, 86, died peacefully at her home with her family at her side on Thursday, March 26, 2009, following a very short illness. She was born in Hardwick, Vt., on June 3, 1922, the daughter of Harry and Alice (Hill) Hogaboom. She lived in the Hardwick area all her life with a short span in New York after marrying Alphonse J. Bellavance on Jan. 14, 1946, at St. Norbert's Church in Hardwick. Together they had five sons. Robert J. and his wife Connie (Casavant), Ronald A. and his wife Linda (Smith), Raymond H. and his wife Jean (Basnar), baby Roland (deceased), and Dennis P. and his wife Sarah (Hill). Jennie attended school in Hardwick and graduated from Hardwick Academy in the class of 1940. After she married Alphonse Bellavance she became a full time housewife and mother while they raised their four sons on the family farm. She did some construction work, and work for the family trucking company. Jennie enjoyed lots of puzzle books, doing crafts (especially with her husband) and vacationing at the ocean with her whole family. She always kept an open door to all. Jennie will be forever loved by her four sons and daughters-in-law, her grandkids, Joe Bellavance, John and Sally Bellavance, Jim and Christina Bellavance, Angela Bellavance, Todd and Rebecca Bellavance, Jennifer and Matt Greaves, Rusty and Ericka Bellavance, Raelene and John Levan, Hannah Bellavance and Harold Patten and Seth Bellavance and her 22 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by several brothers and sisters-in-laws, many godchildren and many, many nieces and nephews and dear friends. Jennie is pre-deceased by her husband Alphonse Bellavance, her baby son and her only sibling, sister Olive E. (Hogaboom) Strong and her husband Leslie Strong. , 72 of Sun City, Ariz., formerly of St. Johnsbury, died peacefully in her sleep after a long illness on March 28. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Lloyd (Bob) Bean of Sun City, Ariz.; her two daughters, Sharon and husband Jerry Cote of St. Johnsbury, and Patricia and husband Glenn Forest also of St. Johnsbury; and son Robert and wife Lorrie Bean of Glendale, Ariz. Surviving siblings include her brother, Robert Desilets of East Hartford, Conn., and sister, Priscilla Trow of Milford, N.H. Angie's grandchildren include, Pam Fletcher, Jason Beattie, Michelle Graves, Jamie Graves, Mathew Forest, Kathryn Ranney, Amie Canfield, James Burton ,Michael Bean, Brett Bean, and Sarah Bean. Her great-grandchildren are Margaret and Hannah Fletcher, Aliyah and Chaise Beattie, Hudson Ranney and Morgan Forest. She was predeceased by a daughter, Carol Lee; parents, Joseph and Verlie Desilets; a brother, Edmond Desilets; and sister, Madeline Davies. Bob and Angie Bean were married in August of 1955 and made their home in St. Johnsbury. She retired from St. Johnsbury Convalescent Center and then worked at Maple Grove as a tour guide prior to their move to Sun City, Ariz., returning to Vermont during the summer months. Angie enjoyed traveling with her husband by car, sea and air to their many destinations. She loved the projects that she and Bob undertook, from remodeling their many homes to helping their children with their projects. Angie loved music and her children have many fond memories, one of which was her morning wake up song. She was an ardent supporter of her children and a loving mother. Angie found solace in both her belief in God and her husband Bob through his attentive care and love. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Angie's memory, to a charity of one's choice.

, 87, of Haverhill, N.H., died on Sunday, March 29, 2009, at Cottage Hospital in Woodsville, N.H. She was born in Springfield, Mass., Oct. 25, 1921, the daughter of Harold and Laura (Laleme) Huntington. Her family moved to Fairlee, Vt., when she was 4 years old. She attended local schools in Fairlee and later in Orford, N.H., where her parents purchased a home. Ruth Marie attended and graduated from Mount Saint Mary High School in Burlington, Vt., and entered the De Gosbrian Hospital as a nursing student. During World War II, she entered the U.S. Army Nurses Corps. She trained on maneuvers in Louisiana and was sent overseas Feb. 21, 1944 with Evac. Hospital #96-45 following the troops through the Battle of Normandy, Northern France, Southern France and Rhineland Germany. She attained the rank of 1st Lieutenant. Decorations and citations included the World War II Victory Medal. She received an Honorable Discharge after the war. Settling first in New Jersey where she married Joseph Brady, Mrs. Brady returned to New Hampshire with her son Russell in the early 1960s. After nearly 30 years as a registered nurse in obstetrics and the newborn nursery at Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital in Hanover, she retired in 1990. She was a member of the American Legion Post No. 20 in Bradford, Vt., and the VFW Post No. 5245 in North Haverhill, N.H., and was a communicant of Saint Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Woodsville. She enjoyed gardening, walking, and cooking. She was predeceased by a brother, Russell C. Huntington in February 2000. Survivors include a son, Russell Brady of Haverhill, N.H.; a brother, Larry Huntington and wife Jackie of North Haverhill, N.H.; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Calling hours will be on Wednesday, April 1, 2009, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Ricker Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, April 2, at 11 a.m., at the Saint Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 15 Pine Street, Woodsville, N.H., with father Daniel J. Sinibaldi officiating. The Wheelers formerly were longtime St. Johnsbury Center residents. She is survived by her husband Merl of Lyndonville (PO Box 971 05851); three daughters, Patricia Aubin and husband Gary of St. Johnsbury, Linda Whitehill and husband Denzil of Barnet, Kathleen Rives of North Haverhill, N.H.; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; one brother; two sisters; and nieces and nephews. Funeral services have been scheduled for Friday, April 3, at 1 p.m., at the Lyndonville United Methodist Church. The pastor, the Rev. Barbara Dwyer, will officiate. Burial will be in May at the St. Johnsbury Center Cemetery. Milton "Mickey" Moyse

of Concord passed away early Sunday morning, March 29, 2009, on his 74th birthday. He had resided at the St. Johnsbury Health & Rehab since mid December. He was born in Concord on March 29, 1935, one of eight children born to the late John R. and Nina (Pierce) Moyse. He was predeceased by a brother Wayne, a sister Madeline Bovee, and his longtime companion Eleanor Chase. After graduating from Concord High School, he served four years in the Air Force, most of that time spent stationed in Puerto Rico. He worked as a pattern maker at the old Atlas foundry in Concord, and as a toolmaker at Tap and Die and Northeast Tool in Lyndonville. He enjoyed his gardening, hunting and fishing, and loved to ride the roads around Concord, Victory, and Kirby watching for deer and other animals. He is survived by two brothers, Clayton Moyse and wife Shirley of Concord, Vernon Moyse and wife Gloria of St. Johnsbury; three sisters, Irene Kell of Eustis, Fla., Barbara Guyer of Rocky Hill Conn., Lorraine LaClair and husband Ervin of Hadley Mass.; nieces and nephews; Eleanor's children, who remained close; and by his close friend and former classmate Lucy Hammang of Hyde Park. Graveside services will be observed on Friday, July 3, at 11 a.m., at the Concord Cemetery. The Rev. Robert H. Sargent will officiate. There will be no visiting hours. , 68, passed away peacefully at his home in Yarmouthport, Mass., Sunday, March 22. Dr. McCaffrey was born May 2, 1940, in Lancaster, N.H., to Harold and Helen (Tenney) McCaffrey. He was a graduate of Lancaster High School. He attended St. Anselm College and St. Paul's Seminary of the University of Ottawa, where he received Bachelor of Arts and Philosophy Degrees. After serving in the US Army Infantry from 1963-1965, he later received a Master of Education Degree from the University of New Hampshire and Doctor of Education Degree from Boston University. He began his teaching career in Groton, Vt., and later served as Principal of Orford High School in Orford, N.H., Assistant Superintendent of Schools in Whitman, Mass., Superintendent of Schools in Rockport, Mass., and later of the Dennis-Yarmouth School District in Yarmouth, Mass., where he was employed until ill health forced his retirement in 2001. During his tenure at Dennis-Yarmouth, Dr. McCaffrey provided the leadership that advanced the local education system during a period of change. In 1996 he was awarded the President's Award by the Massachusetts Association of School Superintendents "for his outstanding contributions to education." Dr. McCaffrey is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Donna Gandin McCaffrey; five children and their spouses, Mrs. Mary Lavoie, of Yarmouthport, Mr. Patrick McCaffrey of South Dennis, Mass., Mrs. Catherine Brewer, of Marstons Mills, Mass., Mrs. Elizabeth Giordano, of Eastchester, N.Y., and Mrs. Melissa Brennan, of Dennis, Mass.; his two sisters, Susan Burrill, of Wolcott, Vt., and Shannon Tibbetts of Wolfeboro, N.H.; 12 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral mass was celebrated on Friday, March 27, at St. Pius X Church in Yarmouth.
