, 92, died peacefully on April 21, 2009, at Michaud Manor in Derby Line, surrounded by family members. Born November 15, 1916, in Newport Center, Mrs. Cloutier was the eldest child of Ray Elwin and Grace Ella Griffin's six children. She graduated from Albany Village Graded School and attended Barton Academy, graduating in June 1933. On July 4, 1933, she married Joseph Raoul Cloutier. She is survived by eight of her nine children: Victor Cloutier and his wife, Carol, of Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, Ronald Cloutier and his wife, Colleen, of Barton, Gerald Cloutier and his wife, Sharon, of Colchester, Rosemary Badeau of Barre, Jeanine Kelley and her husband, Roy, of Brockton, Massachusetts, Rene Cloutier of Jericho, Aime Cloutier and his wife, Linda, of Derby, and Carl Cloutier and his wife, Nancy, of Colchester; and by her brother Evan Griffin and his wife, Olive, of West Glover. An impressive legacy to the Cloutier family is that she lovingly leaves 21 grandchildren and stepgrandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren to carry the love of this most wonderful woman. Heartfelt sorrow is shared by numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her devoted husband, J. Raoul Cloutier; by her son Andre; by her granddaughter Sarah; by her son-in-law Paul Badeau; by her daughter-in-law Mary Ann Cloutier; by her sister Ruth Babcock; and by her brothers: Elwin, Everett, and Eldon Griffin. She devoted her life to her family. She played the piano, enjoyed music, and instilled a love of music into all her children's early lives. She was a wonderful gardener, ensuring food for her large family all year long. She took great pride in her gift for growing lovely flowers, which were admired by all who drove by her home. She gently guided her children through life's trials and was always a positive force in their lives. She was a loving and devoted wife to her adoring husband, J. Raoul, for 62 years. A celebration of her life will be held at the Curtis-Britch Converse-Rushford Funeral Home on Darling Hill Road in Newport on Saturday, May 2, at 10 a.m. A graveside service will follow at the Newport Center Cemetery. Graciously, two local ladies guilds will be providing a luncheon, for all who care to attend, at the Trinity Parish Hall in Orleans. , 78, of Orleans died and left this world on Friday, April 24, 2009. Mrs. Gilson was born August 17, 1930, to Reginald and Eva (Rickard) Noble in Fitch Bay, Quebec. Her family moved to the States when she was four years old and operated the Allendale summer tourist home on the Bluff Road in Newport. She married Leonard Brown Gilson on May 25, 1952, and devoted her life to being a loving wife and mother. She enjoyed embroidering, attending yard sales, and collecting dishes. She had a plant hobby. She is survived by her sister Althea Schneider of Nampa, Idaho. She leaves four perfect daughters: Lynne Hall and husband, Ted, of Naples, Florida, Kathy Eastman and her husband, Randy, of Bryant Pond, Maine, Nancy Carter and her husband, Randy, of Derby, and Lori Ghelli and her husband, David, of Newport Center. She leaves her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought her much joy. She was predeceased by her husband on June 3, 2006, and by infant son Leonard Noble Gilson in 1953. A celebration of her life was held at the Curtis-Britch Converse-Rushford Memorial Chapel in Newport April 28 with the Reverend Martha Peck officiating. Interment will follow in the Lyndon Center Cemetery. , 26, of Colebrook, New Hampshire, died and went to be with the Lord on April 22, 2009, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire, surrounded by family and friends. Ms. Maxwell was born May 20, 1982, in St. Johnsbury, a daughter of Christopher and Veronica Maxwell of Island Pond and Sandra Castrogiovanni of New Hampshire. She was a loving, compassionate, stay-at-home mother of two, Damien and Blake Champaign. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, traveling the roads between Colebrook, New Hampshire, and Island Pond "several times a day." Her sociable personality always left those she met with pure pleasure. She was sure to make people laugh with all her theories of life and her spontaneous needs. There is a piece of her left with each and every one who knew her, which will be treasured for eternity. She is survived by her family, Raymond Champaign and their children Damien and Blake Champaign of Colebrook; and by her parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and many cousins. A service was held April 28 at the Island Pond Congregational Church with the Reverend Alan Magoon officiating. A graveside memorial will be held on Saturday, May 2, at 10 a.m. at Lakeside Cemetery in Island Pond. Herbert Max Schenke

, 68, died March 25, 2009, in Manorville, Long Island, New York, after a battle with leukemia. Mr. Schenke was born January 14, 1941, in the Bronx, New York, a son of Max and Elfriede Schenke. He graduated from Sewanhaka High School on Long Island in 1960. He enlisted in the Army after high school and was stationed in Germany. After an honorable discharge, he worked for Volkswagen as a mechanic until he retired in 1996. He loved to play golf and made two holes-in-one in his lifetime, one on September 17, 2008, on hole 18, which is 167 yards. He is survived by two sisters, Norma Stoddard and her husband, Ed, of Chester, New York, and Rita Nye and her husband Terry, of Barton. He was an uncle to seven nieces and nephews and to three great-nieces and -nephews. Graveside services will be held at the Nye Cemetery in Barton on June 6.

, 75, died peacefully on April 21, 2009, in Glover, surrounded by his family. Mr. Simino was born October 9, 1933, in Albany, a son of Frank and Gertrude (Friend) Simino. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. He enjoyed reminiscing about his military life. He married Rebecca Perron on August 30, 1958, and they resided in Glover at the bottom of Perron Hill for 50-plus years together. He spent his life doing many types of work, logging, woodworking, cutting logs in his own sawmill, meat cutting, and professional carpentry since 1988 with Ralph Vincent. He was always available to lend a helping hand for his neighbors, friends, and family. His special dog and friend was Timon. He enjoyed cooking and loved to feed family who stopped by for a visit, and everyone looked forward to Richard's fudge at Christmastime. He loved his work and took pride in doing a good job - whatever he did. But there was no greater pride than the pride he carried for his grandchildren. That is what truly brought out the twinkle in his eyes and joy in his heart. Mr. Skinner was born July 14, 1952, in Hartford, Connecticut, a son of Edward M. and Ruth (Lucey) Skinner, and he lived in Chester, Connecticut, for several years before moving to the Concord, New Hampshire, area 25 years ago. He was employed by the state of New Hampshire for 23 years. He enjoyed playing cards, fishing and lobstering, and he enjoyed physical labor. Survivors include his wife, Babette Ann (Stone) Skinner, of Gilmanton; six daughters: Emily Lyon of Epsom, New Hampshire, Sara Skinner of Couer d'Alene, Idaho, Jennifer Bojang of Seattle, Washington, Rebecca Skinner of Manchester, New Hampshire, Jamie Mullen of Leicester, New York, and Julie Stone of Gilmanton; five grandchildren; his stepfather, Donald Wustrack, of Connecticut; and brothers Edward M. Mrs. Wells was born August 28, 1911, in Stanstead, Quebec, a daughter of Austin and Lillian (Millington) Smith. On October 15, 1938, she married Arthur Eugene Wells, who predeceased her. She was a nurse's aide and was employed at area nursing homes. She was a member of the Orleans Federated Church and the Order of the Eastern Star of Orleans. She is survived by two children, Bickford Libbey and his wife, Audrey, of Orleans and Barbara Cleveland of Orleans; by grandchildren: Gail, Richard, Mark, Donna, and Connie; by great-grandchildren: Melissa, Randy, Timothy, Jennifer, Danielle, Jessica, Aaron, Trevor, Desiree, Lydia, Rehanna, and Dana; by great-great-grandchildren: Cody, Jordan, Joshua, and Jacob; by her brother Bucky Smith of Ontario; and by two friends, Gwen and Gloria. She was predeceased by her brother Dean Smith. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29, at the Orleans Federated Church with the Reverend Carol Borland officiating. , 97, beloved sister of Audrey R. Betz of Craftsbury, died Saturday evening, April 18, 2009, at the Greensboro Nursing Home where she had been a resident for more than two years. Ms. Betz was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, a daughter of William C. and Geraldine (Haggart) Betz. She earned her degree in nursing from the Jersey City Medical Center. She served in England and France during World War II as a 1st Lieutenant U.S. Army nurse with the 64th Field Hospital. After her discharge, she was recalled to serve in Japan in 1950 and 1951 to help at the clinics after the bombing of Hiroshima. She then spent her career as a professional school nurse in New Jersey. She and her sister lost their mother in her early fifties and cared for their father until his death at age 91 in Chattam, New Jersey. They enjoyed traveling together and on their own. She was a gifted seamstress, making her own clothing as well as some for Audrey. This was a talent learned from her grandmother, which she loved to share. In 1984 she and Audrey moved to their home in Craftsbury where she attended the United Church of Craftsbury and was a former member of the Ladies Aid Society. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 2, at 2 p.m. at the Davis Funeral Home in Craftsbury Common with Pastor Alan Parker officiating. Interment will follow in the Craftsbury Village Cemetery.

, 86, of Barton died April 14, 2009, in Barton. Mrs. Carey was born January 29, 1923, in the Bronx, New York, a daughter of Alfred and Theresa (Landsberg) Woelfle. On June 18, 1960, she married Francis Arthur Carey, who predeceased her. She was a secretary for Easter Seals. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Newport. Her hobbies included cooking and quilting, and she loved animals. She is survived by three children: Jan Carey of Pennsylvania, Christian Carey and his wife, Amy, of Barton, and Richard Carey and his wife, Lisa, of California; and by grandchildren: Olivia, Kieran, and Pippa Fung, Charlotte Carey, and Patrick, Nicholas, and Amanda Carey. She was predeceased by her sisters Evelyn Erwin and Margaret Gibbs; and by her brother Alfred Woelfle Jr. A memorial service was held April 17 at the Curtis-Britch Converse-Rushford Memorial Chapel in Newport with Pastor Octavian Poenaru officiating. Interment was held April 18 at Smithtown Cemetery in Long Island, New York. , 84, of Pine Knoll Shores, North Carolina, died peacefully on April 7, 2009, at Carteret General Hospital, surrounded by her family. Mrs. Hannula was born November 26, 1924, in Orleans to Burt and Mae Woodbury Dean. She attended public schools in Orleans and graduated from Lasell College in Newton, Massachusetts, in 1944. She worked as an executive secretary in Boston before marrying Fred W. Hannula on June 19, 1949, in the Orleans Methodist Episcopal Church. The couple lived in Norwood, Massachusetts, Princeton, New Jersey, and Litchfield, Connecticut, before settling in Medfield, Massachusetts, with their three children in 1960. She was a secretary in the Medfield public school system for many years until retiring to Pine Knoll Shores in 1982. She volunteered at the Beaufort Historical Society in North Carolina and the North Carolina Maritime Museum. She was a pianist, antique collector, reader, music lover, and traveler. She was a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother, and wife and will be deeply missed by her family. She loved all animals, domestic and wild, and took great comfort in her dogs. She is survived by her husband, Fred W. Hannula; by her daughter Karen Ryan and her husband, Michael, of Grantham, New Hampshire; by her son Mark Hannula and his wife, Robin, of Beaufort; by six grandchildren: Lindsay McFadden and her husband, Robert, of Gaysville, Lee Hannula of Quincy, Massachusetts, Brooke Van Lente and her husband, Mark, of Orleans, Michigan, Allison Hannula and Haley Hannula of Beaufort, and Matthew Ryan of Grantham. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son Eric D. Hannula. A celebration of her life was held April 11 at Brooks Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Sally White officiating. On October 9, 1965, he married Debbrah Freehart, who predeceased him on November 19, 2001. He served in the Army National Guard for 19 years and was a mill worker for Green Mountain Fence Company. He enjoyed dancing, snowmobiling, and car racing. , 80, died suddenly in her home in Troy on April 19, 2009. Mrs. LeBlanc was born March 4, 1929, in Newport to Hazel and Dean Perry. She grew up in Troy. She earned her teaching degree at Johnson State College and spent a good deal of her adult life as a dedicated elementary schoolteacher, mostly in Westfield. She was an active member of the Westfield Congregational Church and belonged to the Ladies Social Union. She enjoyed her family, bowling, and her garden. She was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. She was mom and mother and so much more to her daughters and sons-in-law Gail and Bruce Nelson of Ryegate and Dianne and Richard Farrar of Coventry; to son and daughter-in-law Daryl and Cindy LeBlanc of Westfield; and to daughter-in-law Margaret Maxwell and her husband, Steward, of Coventry. Grammy will always remain in the hearts of her grandchildren: Curt and Emily of Oswego, Illinois, Andrea and Ryan Dennis of Ryegate, Jim and Christy Nelson of Ryegate, Darik LeBlanc of Brownington, Darcy LeBlanc of Westbrook, Maine, and Adam Farrar of Coventry and her eight precious great-grandchildren. , 79, a former resident of Waterbury, died Sunday, April 19, 2009, at Copley Hospital in Morrisville following an extended illness. Ms. Maskell was born in Williamstown on September 21, 1929, a daughter of Carl and Hattie (Alexander) Maskell. She was a hard worker and loved animals. Besides her employment at Adams Mill in Moscow as a machine operator, she owned and operated a farm in Waterbury with friends. They milked cows, raised cattle, and did the normal range of other farm chores as well as operating a sugarhouse. She loved to hunt, both with a rifle and bow and arrow. A very generous person, she enjoyed helping out her family, neighbors, and friends as best she could. Survivors include her brother Allan Maskell and his wife, Arlene, of North Wolcott; her sister Glendora Laird of Hardwick; several nieces and nephews, including her niece Debra Chaffee of Albany with whom she had recently made her home; and many friends, including Tommy Guyette of Waterbury. She was predeceased by her brother Calvin Maskell. At Ms. Maskell's request, there will be no services.

, 66, of Jay died April 16, 2009, in Newport. Mr. Mayhew was born June 11, 1942, in Jay, a son of George and Zelia (Lague) Mayhew. On December 7, 1968, he married Heidi Riegler, who survives him. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War while serving in the U.S. Army. After the war he was employed at the Newport Rocking Chair Company. He loved to play music, especially the violin, but other instruments as well. He loved being outdoors and fishing. He was a member of the American Legion Jay Peak Post and North Troy Post 28. He is survived by his wife, Heidi Mayhew, of Jay; by three sisters: Violette Verge of Westfield, Germaine Beldon of Jay, and Muriel Flood of North Troy; by six nephews: Arthur Verge, Andre Verge, Edward Mayhew, Steven Flood, Raymond Mayhew, and Marcel Mayhew; and by four nieces: Elaine Reynard, Julie Royce, Mary Jane Lapan, and Laurette Woodworth. He was predeceased by his nephew David Flood; by his niece Carmen Flood; by brothers Ernest and Gilbert Mayhew; and by sister Osilda Pouliot. Funeral services were held at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in North Troy April 21 with the Reverend Henry Mlinganisa and the Reverend Francis Prive celebrating a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment followed at St. Ignatius Catholic Cemetery in Lowell with full military honors. William "Bill" John Ocker Sr.

, 72, died at his home in Albany on April 15, 2009. Mr. Ocker was a proud Marine; he was even more proud of his grandchildren. Born John Hill on June 2, 1936, in Laurel, Mississippi, he was adopted in 1939 by the Reverend William and Velma Ocker of Erie, Pennsylvania. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1954 to 1958. In 1959 he moved to Vermont where he met and married his true love and best friend, Susan Douglas, in 1960. He spent his life working on heavy equipment. He worked on portions of the interstate system from New York to New Hampshire while working for Palazzi and Perini construction companies. Co-workers have always commented that he was an artist on a bulldozer. He retired in 1990 due to medical issues. He was a member of Winooski Lodge 49 of Free and Accepted Masons, Queen Esther Chapter 7 of the Order of the Eastern Star in Waterbury, American Legion Post 23, in Orleans, the International Union of Operating Engineers, and the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed drag racing cars, racing snowmobiles, reading news, watching football, hunting, fishing, camping, listening to country music, gardening, and feeding the birds. He was a volunteer at Copley Hospital in Morrisville. He was a family man who loved dogs and all other animals. He had the ability to become friends with almost everyone he met. Above all, he enjoyed his time spent with family, especially his grandchildren. He was reunited with his biological family in 1993 after a 54-year separation. He and his family then traveled to family reunions, meeting other relatives, and he hosted a reunion in Vermont. Connecting with his brother and sisters and meeting his mother gave his the greatest gift he could ever have asked for. Besides his wife, Susan, of Albany, he leaves his daughter Kim Fuller of Berlin; his son William J. Ocker Jr. and his wife, Danielle, of Hartland; grandchildren: Ashley McEwan, Megan Jason, Caitlin Fuller, Jonathan Fuller, Nathan Ocker, and Matthew Ocker; and sisters: Marjorie Snyder of Iowa, Mary Shelton of California, and Sara Plaskett and her husband, David, of California. He was predeceased by a brother and three sisters. A memorial service was held April 19 at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Waterbury with the Reverend Melvin Bridge officiating. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in the Albany Village Cemetery. , 65, of Westmore died April 14, 2009, in Barton. Mr. Parenteau was born November 19, 1943, in Barton, a son of Walter and Velma (Dopp) Parenteau. He enjoyed riding in the car wearing his sunglasses, watching television, playing with and stacking his toys, and reading books. He especially enjoyed watching the staff and residents at Maple Lane Nursing Home. Being born with Down syndrome, he was a very special person. He had unconditional love and touched many hearts of those who knew him. He is survived by his brothers and sisters: Paul Parenteau and his wife, Diane, of Westmore, Claire Perkins and her husband, Roy, of Westmore, Brian Parenteau and his wife, Toi, of Westmore, Gerard Parenteau and his wife, Annette, of Westmore, Lorraine Hamel and her husband, Fred, of Brownington, and Theresa Kyhill and her husband, Steve, of Castleton; by a special aunt, Pauline Mitchem of Westmore, who since 1992 after the death of his mother gave him the loving care he needed; and by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Velma Parenteau. Funeral services were held at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Barton on April 20 with the Reverend Sixmund Nyabenda celebrating a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment followed at Lakeview Cemetery in Westmore. , 78, of Newport died April 17, 2009, in Newport. Mrs. Spaulding was born May 2, 1931, in Coventry, a daughter of William and Delia (Crowe) Sanville. She was employed by Indian Head Plywood for many years. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 798 Auxiliary of Newport. She enjoyed working and cooking. She is survived by her son John Spaulding and his companion, Gail Parenteau, of Newport; by her grandchildren Corinna Lancaster and her husband, Royce, of Newport and Corey Spaulding and his wife, Nancy, of Derby; by great-grandchildren: Hannah, Mallory, Royce Jr., and Alex Lancaster and Kameron Spaulding; by stepgreat-grandchildren Jordan and Tara Spaulding; by her sister Silverine Wright of Newport Center; and by numerous nieces and nephews. , 58, of Irasburg died April 11, 2009, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, after a courageous battle with cancer. Mr. Bathalon was born April 28, 1950, in Burlington, a son of Ernest and Jeanne (Rondeau) Bathalon. He graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1969, and he was employed at Ethan Allen in Orleans. On September 10, 1977, he married Diane Brasseur. He held membership with the Knights of Columbus Council 2285 of Newport. He is survived by his wife, Diane Bathalon, of Irasburg; by four children: Dana E. Bathalon and his wife, Sarah, of Coventry, Rene Y. Bathalon and his wife, Ann, of Irasburg, Christine-Anne S. Bathalon and her fiance, Travis Degre, of Jay, and Christopher J. , 85, of Island Pond died April 9, 2009, at his home, with his wife and daughter. Mr. Buchman was born December 9, 1923, in Los Angeles, California, a son of Erick and Nellie (Short) Buckman. On November 7, 1946, he married Betty Rose Ordiway, who survives him. He retired in 1963 from the U.S. Air Force after serving for 20 years. He then went on to a 20-year career with Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, based in Trenton, New Jersey. In 1985 he retired to Island Pond with his wife. He enjoyed woodworking, and he was a member of American Legion Post 80 in Island Pond. He is survived by his wife, Betty Buchman, of Island Pond; by his daughter Doreen L. Buchman and son-in-law William H. Lammers of Kutztown, Pennsylvania; by his son Avery Scott Buchman of Trenton; by his daughter Lisa K. Tronco and her companion, Patrick Presutto, of Parkertown, New Jersey; by granddaughters: Nicole Ozgul and her husband, Aytac, of Manahawkin, New Jersey, and Kyra and Maxine Lammers of Kutztown; by daughter-in-law Peggy Buchman of Hazelton, Pennsylvania; by niece Harriet Moring of Virginia Beach, Virginia; and by nephew Gary Soule of Norfolk, Virginia. , 89, of Newport died peacefully April 5, 2009, in Newport. Mrs. Labounty was born October 2, 1919, in North Troy, a daughter of Harry and Edith (Cassidy) Sargent. On April 18, 1939, she married Reginald Labounty Sr., who predeceased her in 1990. She was a dairy farmer on her own farm for many years, and she was a minister with the Newport Advent Church. She enjoyed gardening, baking, playing the accordian, reading, and being in the company of her family. She is survived by four children: Reginald Labounty Jr. and his wife, Cheryl, of Canaan, Alice Bowman and her husband, Leland, of Derby, Beverly Keenan of Derby, and Rachel Leithead and her husband, William, of Newport Center; by stepdaughter Shirley Fortin of Irasburg; by 17 grandchildren: Debbie Durgin, Sharon Payne, David and Michael Labounty, Joanne Lawson, Karen Thomas, Steve and Scott Bowman, Gordon and Brian Tice, Rose Daigle, James Leithead, Janet Morin, David and Darren Fortin, Betsy Pion, Jeffrey Broe, and Mary Skidgel; by 40 great-grandchildren; by four great-great-grandchildren; by her sister Helen Morse of Jay; by her sister-in-law Roberta Sargent of Jay; and by numerous nieces and nephews. , 51, of Derby died April 10, 2009, at North Country Hospital in Newport, surrounded by his family. Mr. Lancaster was born July 19, 1957, in Tokyo, Japan, a son of Lois Smith, who survives him. He was predeceased by his father, Royden Lancaster Sr.; by his stepfather, Lawrence Smith; by his wife, Fahrvnnisa; and by his extended family in Turkey. He is survived by his daughter Jessica Lancaster of Bristol, Connecticut; by stepchildren: Tim, Robbie, Michelle, Joshua, and Sarah; by his brothers: Royden Lancaster, and his wife, Marlene, of Derby, Roger Lancaster and his wife, Kristan, of Williston, Randy Smith and his wife, Debbie, of Newport as well as his twin brother, Raymond Lancaster, of Palm Harbor, Florida; by his sister Linda Bussiere and her husband, Andre, of Newport; by stepsister Jody Casey and her husband, Sean, of Newport; and by many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. Dorothy M. Ling

, 93, a lifelong resident of Greensboro, died at her home on April 5, 2009. Mrs. Ling was born September 26, 1915, a daughter of Alton and Bertha (Young) White. She graduated from Greensboro High School in 1933, Johnson Normal School in 1935, and Goddard College in 1970. On September 2, 1950, she married Fred A. Ling. She taught for many years in northern Vermont, mostly in elementary schools but also in special education. She was a member of Greensboro United Church of Christ, the Caspian Lake Grange, the Hazen Road Pomona Grange, and Riverside Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was an active volunteer in many aspects of the community. She served as a 4-H leader for more than 25 years and on county and state foundations. She was a school director for ten years, a founding member and active participant in the Greensboro Historical Society, and a volunteer at the Greensboro Free Library and the Greensboro Nursing Home. She was a local news reporter for many years with the Hardwick Gazette and the Caledonian-Record. In 1981, she was selected as Vermont's Outstanding Senior Citizen, and in 1985 she was recognized by the United Church of Christ as an Outstanding Laywoman. The town of Greensboro honored her in 1990 with the Greensboro Award for Community Service. Survivors include her son Arthur Ling and his wife, Sharon, of Hardwick; her daughter Alice Crosby and her husband, Ben, of Derry, New Hampshire; her daughter-in-law Janice Ling of Springfield, Missouri; five grandchildren: Tonya Madison and Nicole Tilden of Barre and Eric, Monica and Kelsey of Springfield, Missouri; seven great-grandchildren; her sister Clara Wells and her husband, Marvin, of Marshfield; her brother Lawrence White of Glover; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Fred, on September 13, 1984; by their son Alton on March 24, 2009; by her sister Josephine White; and by her brother Irwin White. A memorial service was held at the Greensboro United Church of Christ April 14.
