, 25, of Bryan Drive, Bath, N.H., died peacefully at his home on Wednesday, May 6, 2009, with his family and friends by his side. Tracy was born in Hanover, N.H., on Oct. 24, 1983, to Bryan Keith and Cynthia Ellen (MacDonald) Lang. He graduated from Woodsville High School, Class of 2002. In the 25 years of his life, Tracy shared a lifetime of memories. His smiles could warm a room, and without words he expressed his love for life and all that loved him. Tracy enjoyed spending time with family and friends in the comfort of his home. Despite his struggles, his will to live was strong. Our memories of Tracy will greatly ease our pain. Tracy was predeceased by his maternal grandfather Milton "Sonny" MacDonald on Aug. 18, 2004, and by an uncle Tracy Dean Lang on Aug. 21, 1977. He is survived by his parents Bryan and Cindy Lang of Bath; his sister Sara J. Lang and friend Chris Lavoie, and his twin brother James K. Lang and friend Carrie Roman, all of Bath; his maternal grandmother Bette (Wilson) MacDonald of Bath; his paternal grandparents David R. and Phyllis M. (Griggs) Lang, also of Bath; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; his longtime special angel and loving caregiver and nurse, Kim LaPierre and her family of Monroe, N.H.; and the very special people who have been involved in Tracy's care and his life. , 76, of Glover Road, Groton, died at the Grafton County Nursing Home on May 7, 2009. Joe was born in Livingston Manor, N.Y., on Nov. 24, 1932, to Wallace and Vera (Bailey) Davis. He served in the US Army from Dec. 8, 1952, through Nov. 16, 1954. He married Phyllis Detweiler on Feb. 13, 1960. In 1976 they moved from Bloomingdale, N.J., to Vermont. Following his time in the service Joe worked in production control for Whalite Manufacturing in New Jersey and later at Fairbanks Scales in St. Johnsbury. He served as custodian for the Newbury Village School. He and Phyllis provided foster care for many years for the Future's Program and SRS. Joe spent time woodworking, fly fishing and hunting. He drove the #55 car in the Coupe Division at Bear Ridge and enjoyed going to Thunder Road in Barre. He was predeceased by his parents Wallace and Vera Davis; and by his siblings Gerald Davis, Leo Davis, and Mary Horvath. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Phyllis Davis of Groton; a daughter Christle D. Brooks and husband Barry of Groton; two sons Todd R. Davis of Milton, Jay A. Davis and fiance' Renee'Armond of Bossier City, La.; three grandchildren Stephanie Ames, Sera Brooks, and Kurtis Brooks; two brothers Lloyd Davis of Neptune, N.J., and Jules Davis of Livingston Manor, N.Y.; several nieces and nephews; and his buddy, Brian Sullivan of Groton. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2009, at 11 a.m. at the Newbury Bible Church, 16 Cross Street, Newbury, VT. Frederick "Joe" Robinson Jr.

, 84, of State Street, Groveton, N.H., died at his home, on Thursday evening, May 7, 2009. Mr. Robinson was born in Norfolk, N.Y., on Nov. 17, 1924, the son of Frederick and Anna (Johnson) Robinson Sr. Joe was raised in the North Country and has been a long time resident of Groveton. During WWII he served with the US Army Air Corps. For many years he was a welder and foreman for James River Paper Company retiring at the age of 62. He was a former Precinct Commander for the Groveton Fire Department and a founding member of the Groveton Trail Blazers. He loved to vacation, snowmobile and after retirement became an avid golfer with three hole-in-ones to his credit. He was a member of the Fredonwarell American Legion Post #17, Groveton. Family members include his wife of 66 years Alice (Gardner) Robinson; his children, Frederica Jewett of Groveton, Edward Robinson of Lancaster, N.H., Shirley Beliveau of Groveton, Edmund Robinson of Groveton, Brenda Stinson of Stratford, N.H., Dana Robinson of Lancaster, Paul Robinson of Fire island, N.Y., Michael Robinson of Groveton, Tina Collier of North Carolina and Mark Robinson of Groveton; 21 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, May 11, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A funeral service will be held Tuesday morning at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Father Raymond Ball, pastor at All Saints Church, Lancaster will officiate. Pearl (Whalen) Alexander

was born in Irasburg, on March 19, 1924, to parents Joseph N. Whalen and Namoie Elvira (Bean) Whalen. Pearl attended school in Orleans and Bethel. After school she married Joseph Warren Alexander on Nov. 11, 1942, before Warren went to World War II. Her beloved Warren passed away Dec. 30, 1996. She and Warren bought the Burt Smith farm in Cabot and moved there and raised their five children, Gloria E. Clubb, of Holiday, Fla., Judith L. O'Brien of Quincy, Mass., Joseph N. Alexander of Cabot, John H. Alexander-Deceased, Rhoda M. Neader of Phoenix, Ariz., and Jill C. Alexander of Cabot. Pearl worked as a housewife raising her children on the farm and later started working at the Cabot Creamery in 1960 where she worked in the lab for 25 years. Pearl was known for her jams and jellies and for her cookies. She was a past Eastern Star, and a past member of the Cabot Skylighters club. She was a member of Faith in Action, homemakers club, and the senior citizens. She loved her Bingo, Poker and cards. She was a member of Cabot United church. She especially loved swimming at Lyford Pond. After Pearl and Warren retired they sold the farm in Cabot and lived their summer months at their home at Lyford Pond and winters in their home in New Port Richey, Fla. After Warren passed Pearl sold the house in Florida and moved back to Cabot. She still enjoyed her residence at Lyford Pond during the summer. Pearl will be greatly missed by a large family and many friends. She was survived by one sister Ruth Young, and her husband George; her five remaining children; her 10 grandchildren; one step-grandchild; her 12 great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren. She was greeted in heaven in the morning on May 6, 2009, by her half-sister Thelma Shepard, her half-brother Gerald Keith, her adopted sister Marion Kennison and her adopted brother Theodore Whalen. Her memorial service will be held in July. The exact date has yet to be set, and would like donations to be made to Central Vermont Hospice in her memory. As Pearl would say "And that's the way it is, and don't you forget it."
Robert H. Swallow

, 71, of Norway, died Thursday, May 7, at Stephens Memorial Hospital. He was born in Lewiston on May 11, 1937, the son of Asa and Victoria Kendall Swallow. He graduated from South Paris High School in 1955. In 1958, he became a member of the Army Security Agency and served in Japan, Great Britain and Fort Devens. He married Joan Conner on April 8, 1961, in Bethel. He relocated to Vermont in January of 1970 and worked for Fairbanks Scales in St. Johnsbury, and later owned and operated until he retired in 1986. The Swallows returned to Norway in 2000. He is survived by his wife of Norway; a special nephew, Wayne Delano and his wife Sandra; nephew, Scott Delano and his wife Mary Anne; and nephew, Ricky and his fiancée Sharon. Graveside services will be held on Friday, May 15, at 2 p.m., at Riverside Annex Cemetery in South Paris. Arrangements are under the direction of Weston-Chandler Funeral Home 45 Main St., South Paris.
Agnes H. Ambrose Mooney

, age 92, of Dalton, N.H., passed away on April 30, 2009, at the Weeks Medical Center. Agnes was born on Nov. 1, 1916, a daughter to Jesse and Mabel (Williams) Ambrose in Sandwich, N.H. She attended Whiteface School (a local one room school) for grades 1 through 8 and finished 8 grades in 6 years. She then attended The Quimby School (a private High School in Sandwich, N.H.), after which she went to Plymouth State College in Plymouth, N.H. Agnes married Howard F. Mooney of Dalton, N.H., on June 25, 1937, and together they worked on their farm raising horses, cows and chickens. Howard predeceased her in January 1995. She loved all animals, but her favorite were cats. She was a school teacher in Dalton, Plymouth and Sandwich, N.H. Agnes was also employed by the Gilman Paper Co. in Gilman, Vt., as a machine operator and quality control supervisor, Connors & Hoffman Footwear, in Littleton, N.H., and Burndy Corporation in Littleton, N.H., as a press operator. She retired in 1988. She served on the Dalton Planning Board at its inception in the 1960s, as well as the White Mountain Regional School Board from 1991 through 2001. She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary and was named Mother of the Year by them; she was also a member of the Dalton Historical Society, the Sandwich Historical Society of Sandwich, N.H., and the Society for the Preservation of NH Forests. Agnes was an avid reader and enjoyed local, state and federal politics. She loved to hunt and shoot with her husband and son, and helped to form the TDG Shooting Club of NH in Dalton, N.H., in 1998. Surviving family members include one son, Donald F. and his wife Nancy Mooney of Dalton, N.H.; two granddaughters, Pamela J Mooney Kathan of Dalton, N.H., and Vanessa F. Mooney Jones of East Haven, Conn.; two great-granddaughters, Heather L. Filgate of Dalton, N.H., and Ashly F. Bellas of East Haven, Conn.; and one great-grandson, Gregory T. Filgate of New Haven, Conn. No services will be held per her request. , 59, of St. Johnsbury, died peacefully on Saturday, May 9, 2009, at her home surrounded by her family. She passed away of a long courageous battle with cancer. She had a beautiful soul with a lot of strength. She was born Dec. 14, 1949, the daughter of Kenneth and Adria (Worster) Wright. She attended The Seventh Day Adventist School and Church when she was young. She graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy in 1968. On Dec. 14, 1968, she married Paul M. Gervais, before he entered the Vietnam War. Her family speaks of her as a devoted mother and great friend. She cared immensely for her family, just as her family cared for her. Her family was her life. She simply was an amazing woman, a fun spirit who loved to laugh. She will be greatly missed by her family. She enjoyed the simple things in life, such as spending quality time with all of her family, going for rides and out to dinner all over the Northeast Kingdom with her mother, Adria. She loved going to the movies and spending the day with her daughters, Karena and Sherri. She also enjoyed spending time in the White Mountains with her family and loved taking her granddaughter, Hailey, to Clarke's Bears. A recent fond memory was her family reunion spent at Harvey's Lake. She shared many good times with her friends, even her pets she loved dearly, Jasper and Bella. She is survived by her two daughters, Karena (Gervais) Parrish of St. Johnsbury and Sherri Gervais and boyfriend Mark Dekoeyer of Passumpsic; her mother, Adria (Worster) Wright of St. Johnsbury; two brothers, Kenneth Wright and wife Ginger of Grand Blanc, Mich., and Pastor Richard Wright and wife Trudy of Poland, Maine; her granddaughter, Hailey Parrish, of St. Johnsbury; and nieces and nephews. , 95, longtime Postmaster of the East St. Johnsbury Post Office, passed away Sunday morning, Jan 25, 2009, in Barnet at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Leigh Larocque. She had resided there for the past nine years. She was predeceased by her daughter Gloria Utley and son-in-law Glen both in 2003, daughter Sylvia Goodwin who died tragically as a freshman at St. Johnsbury Academy; brothers Murray, Wendall, Lynwood, and George; sisters Ethelyn, Lorna Eula, and Kay. She is survived by daughter Beverly and her husband Leigh and their 31 descendants; son Bill and his 19 descendants; and daughter Gloria's 13 descendants. Other survivors include her brother Wendall's two daughters, Marilyn and Janice Quimby, who lived with Phebe's family after their father's early death; her two sisters, Hope Freshette of Kirby, and Lorraine Colby and husband Maurice of East St. Johnsbury; and a bundle of nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held Friday, May 15, at 4 p.m., at the Third Congregational Church in East St. Johnsbury. The pastor, the Rev. Ann Hockridge, will officiate. passed away in St. Johnsbury, at the residence of Wanda Lawrence, long time friend and recent care giver, on May 13, 2009, at the age of 49. She was born on April 5, 1960, the daughter of Gerald and Dorothy (Farr) Barrows. Loriann was a Licensed Nursing Assistant and worked at the Waterford Group Home in Waterford and the Pines Health & Rehab in Lyndonville. She enjoyed going for long walks, traveling, spending time with her family, friends and granddaughter, also her dog, Bandit and cat, Spunky. She is survived by her two daughters, Jamie DeLude of Malden, Mass., and Jasmine DeLude of Newport; her father Gerald Barrows of St. Johnsbury; sister Zola "Sandy" Farr of St. Johnsbury; and one grandchild Juliana Gentley. She was predeceased by her mother Dorothy Barrows and a brother Harold Barrows. Services will be held at a later date, at the family's convenience. There will be no visiting hours. , 82, of Lyndonville and formerly of St. Johnsbury, died Wednesday afternoon May 13, 2009, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H. She was born Feb. 23, 1927, in St. Johnsbury, the only daughter of Donat and Lucille (St. Jean) Lacroix. Aline was a graduate of Mount St. Joseph Academy in St. Johnsbury. On Aug. 16, 1948, she married Ronald H. Laliberte. They lived in Boston where they began raising their family, and moved back to St. Johnsbury in 1966. Aline loved people and worked at Gauthier's Pharmacy in St. Johnsbury for 17 years. She enjoyed playing the piano, was an avid reader, and loved spending summers at their camp in Island Pond with family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Ronald this past April 26. Survivors include her two children, Christine Oakes and husband Alex of Passumpsic, and Mark Laliberte and wife Susan of West Charleston; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers, John Lacroix and wife Agnes of Nashua, N.H., and Gustave Lacroix and wife Elaine of Maryland; a brother in-law, Leopold Laliberte and wife Ann of Florida; nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Johnsbury Saturday, May 16, at 1 p.m., at St. John the evangelist church with the Rev. Patrick Forman celebrant. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery in St. Johnsbury. There will be no visiting hours. , 56, of Central Street, died on May 14, 2009, at her home following a courageous battle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (Lou Gehrig's Disease). Barbara was born in Pasadena, Texas, to Moses William and May Louise (Saunders) Henricks, Jr., on Sept. 12, 1952. She married Norman W. Darby on Dec. 20, 1974. She served as a legal secretary for Wells & Cuellar, PC in Houston, Texas, until her retirement in 2006, and was a member of the National Association of Legal Secretaries. She was a lifelong Texas resident until moving to Woodsville, N.H., her husband's hometown, in March 2006. She was a member of the Woodsville United Methodist Church and the American Motorcyclist Association. She is survived by her husband of 34 years Norman Darby of Woodsville; a daughter LeeAnn Darby of Elizabeth City, N.C.; two sons Jeffrey R. Hamilton and wife Becky of Houston, Texas, and Timothy A. Darby of Deer Park, Texas; five grandsons Kaleb, Levi, Geordan, Brett, and Jake; a brother Bruce W. Henricks and wife Debbie of Henderson, Texas; and nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Gerald F. "Hap" Hutchins

went to be with the Lord on Dec. 30, 2008, at his home with his loving wife by his side. He was a devoted husband and father. Hap was born on Sept. 2, 1924, in North Danville on the Morrill Farm. He was the son of the late Harley and Alice (Archambault) Hutchins. He attended school at the Morrill Schoolhouse in North Danville. On Feb. 28, 1945, he joined the US Army at the age of 19. Hap served his country during WWII in the 524th Military Police stationed in Austria and Germany. He was honorably discharged on Nov. 10, 1946, and was in the reserves for three years. On Dec. 11, 1949, he married Betty Bumps, who, for the next 59 years, was the love of his life. They had two children, Barbara and Brent, who meant the world to him. Hap bought the Lemus farm from his folks in 1947. While farming, he started driving school bus in the fall of 1956. Hap owned and operated the busses until 1971. They sold the farm in 1966 and moved to North Danville village; Hap then worked nights at the Fairbanks Foundry and later five years for the St. Johnsbury Highway Department. In the fall of 1973, he contracted for the Danville School District and stopped driving students after his heart attack in 1992. He did continue to oversee the busses until his retirement. After his retirement, he was proud of his garden, but, most of all, he loved spending time with his devoted family. Hap and his family had a lot of fun family time at their camp on Coles Pond. Hap was predeceased by his parents Harley and Alice Hutchins; two sisters, Neomia (Hutchins) McGill and Ramona (Hutchins) Flint; three brothers, Jack Craig, Earl Hutchins, and Harold Hutchins; brothers-in-law Robert Bumps and Henry Bumps; and many close friends. He is survived by his loving wife and caregiver Betty; his two children, Barbara Hutchins Fontaine and husband Gary of Danville, and Brent Hutchins and wife Cyndy of Monroe, N.H.; one sister Ruby Hutchins Goslant of St. Johnsbury; sister-in-law Frances Craig of Post Mills; several nieces and nephews; Betty's sisters, Norma Sargent of Wells River, Ruby Whitney and husband George of Hardwick, Barbara Heath and husband James of Waterford; and Betty's half brother Raymond Bumps. Memorial services will be held this Friday, May 22, 2009, at noon at the Danville Green Cemetery. The Rev. Robert H. Sargent will officiate with military honors to be conducted by American Legion Post #53 of Danville. Anyone wishing to attend is welcome. , 73, East Concord, died peacefully on Friday morning, May 15, 2009, at Country Village Center Genesis Eldercare, Lancaster, N.H., after a long illness. Mr. Belair was born in Randolph on Oct. 28, 1935, the son of Joseph and Adella (Poirier) Belair. He grew up in Quincy, Mass., and Randolph before settling in Rockland, Mass., to raise a family with his wife Joanne. He worked as a drafting engineer for many years at Sigma Instruments in Braintree, Mass. After weekending in Vermont for eight years, he and Joanne made East Concord their home. Paul was a devout Catholic, serving his Lord as a Eucharistic Minister, a lector and catechism teacher. He was most recently a parishioner at All Saint Catholic Church in Lancaster and enjoyed the company of his friends in the Men of St. Joseph's group. He was a wonderful Papa to Geoffrey Graham, Devin Belair, Kourtnei, Austin Tyler and Mykayla Martin, Sam Hosford and Elijah and Grady Walters. In his grandchildren, he found great joy, spending time with them, marveling at the way they grew and changed and loving them. He was also overjoyed to have two little great-granddaughters, Aysjah Willis and Mariyah Belair. He was also a very special person to his goddaughter, Sara Mackiewicz, of Belchertown, Mass., and was "Uncle Papa" to many. Paul's hobbies and interests included, flying and being a flight instructor, gardening, yard work, snow machining, being a member of the Guildhall Fun Flyers, fishing, hunting, volunteering at Weeks Medical Center and tinkering around his home. In addition to his grandchildren, Paul leaves his wife of 43 years, Joanne (Mackiewicz) Belair of East Concord; his daughters Paulette Martin of Leland, N.C., Noelle Hosford and her husband Ron of Gilman, and Brigette Walters and her husband Bruce of Lancaster; and a sister, May Belair of Stafford Springs, Conn. He was predeceased by two grandsons, Geoffrey and Sam, as well as two brothers, Donald and Roger, and three sisters, Gloria Bickford, Anita Spruce and Charlotte Russo. As a compassionate animal lover, he also leaves behind his two cats, Echo and Sweetie. There are no calling hours. A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date at All Saint's Church. , age 82, of Cross Road, Bath, N.H., went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 13, 2009, at The Cottage Hospital, in Woodsville, N.H. Carlene was born in Littleton, N.H. on Nov. 1, 1926, to Arthur and Lillian Ennis. She attended school in Littleton. She worked in the old Woolworth's Store in Littleton. After her marriage to "Si" Locke, and as a young mother, Carlene moved to Bath where she became an active partner in the Locke Dairy Farm. Carlene also spent many years working at The Brick Store in Bath and eventually "owning" a craft shop in Bath. Carlene loved her family and her home. Until she was no longer able, she loved to have a garden, loved eating dandelions, and making "wild" strawberry shortcake. She truly loved her cats, dog(s) and dairy cows. Carlene loved people, but enjoyed her quiet times, and reading books. She is survived by five children, Silas Stephen (Steve) Locke and his wife, Virginia, of Bath, David Charles Locke and his wife, Brenda, of Maine, Cynthia L. Gadwah and her husband, Gary, of Bath, Ronald Elmer Locke of Bath and Tammy, and Donald Ernest Locke and his wife, Gloria, of Bath. Carlene had one brother, Clifton A. Ennis, of Windsor, Maine. She is, also, survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Monday, May 18. from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Pillsbury Funeral Home located at 101 Union St. in Littleton. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 20, at 10 a.m. at the Bath Congregational Church in Bath. Burial will follow in the Bath Village Cemetery followed by a reception at the Bath Congregational Church.
