Pauline Emma Aremburg
....show , 75, passed away, Monday morning, January 7, 2008, at Weeks Medical Center, Lancaster.
Mrs. Aremburg was born in Gilman, VT on February 17, 1932, the daughter of Paul and Emma (Duguay) Lefrancois.
She attended grade school in Gilman and began High School in Littleton transferring to Lancaster where she was a 1951 graduate of Lancaster Academy. She married Charles Aremburg of Haverhill, NH on January 26, 1957 at St. Theresas Church in Gilman. Throughout her life she worked at a variety of North Country businesses including the telephone company, the credit union and as Postmaster for the Gilman Post Office. She also worked at the Four Dorr Restaurant and a motel in Jefferson before staying at home with her four children.
Pauline enjoyed traveling, camping, knitting sweaters for her children and grand children. She also enjoyed reading Danielle Steele and Nora Roberts books, as well as attending several country music concerts throughout the years. She was an avid collector of bells and spoons from around the world.
She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and was often seen at all of their sporting events, school concerts and other school functions.
She was a member of the V.F.W. and American Legion Auxiliaries.
Family members include her husband Charles of Gilman; three children David Aremburg and his wife Rita of Concord, VT, Kevin Aremburg and his wife Eydie of Waterford, VT and Carla Amadon and her fiancé Ed Alenckis of Lunenburg; seven grandchildren Jennifer Amadon of Lunenburg, Hilary Bradshaw and her husband Justin of Monroe, Jason Amadon and his wife Michelle of Lunenburg, Kelly Aremburg of Burlington, VT, Nathan Aremburg also of Burlington, Adam Aremburg and Ryan Aremburg both of Waterford, VT and her great granddaughter Hollyn Bradshaw of Monroe, NH. She is also survived by, her mother Emma Lefrancois of Gilman and a sister Louise Verret of Littleton; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by, her father, her sister Rena Ainsworth and her son Jeffrey Aremburg.
There are no calling hours. Burial will be held in the spring at their family lot in St. Rose of Lima in Littleton.

Paul H. Beaton Sr.
....show , 71, of Abigail Circle, died Tuesday, January 22, 2008, at Weeks Medical Center, Lancaster.
Mr. Beaton was born in Lancaster on June 16, 1936, a son of Phillip and Reta (Newell) Beaton.
Paul was raised in Lancaster and was a longtime resident. He served in the United States Air force and worked for many years as a supervisor of maintenance and grounds for the WMRHS. He has been a resident of Jefferson for the past twelve years.
He was a true outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing and was also a Red Sox fan. He truly loved his family, always being very supportive of them.
Family members include three son; Paul H. Beaton Jr. of S. Yarmouth, MA, Michael Beaton of Jefferson and Cody Beaton of Lancaster; two daughters, Nina Iriana of Lumberton, NC and Bianca Pinciero of Allenstown, NH; 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and two on the way; two brothers Jack Beaton of Rhode Island and Doug Beaton of Lancaster; three sisters, Barbara Donovan and Trudy Cliché and her husband William all of Florida, and Charlotte Lacasse of Kentucky and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by, his parents, his wife Julie, two brothers Phillip Beaton and Reginald Beaton; a sister Geraldine Oleson.
Visiting hours will be held Friday evening, January 25, 2008, from 6-8 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday afternoon at 1:00 PM at All Saints Church, Lancaster. Reverend Raymond Ball, pastor will officiate. Kathleen L. Cassady
....show , 33, of Dean Brook Drive, died Thursday January 3, 2008, at Weeks Medical Center, after a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Cassady was born in Lancaster, NH on April 10, 1974, the daughter of James K. and Susan M. (Blay) MacKillop Sr.
Katie was a 1993 graduate of White Mountain Regional High School. She attended Lyndon State College, transferring to the New Hampshire Community Tech. College in Berlin, were she graduated with an associates degree in accounting, serving her apprenticeship with the Town of Lancaster. Her employment included working at Rite Aid, the Town of Littleton as a receptionist and Deputy Tax Collector, for the Town of Groveton as acting Town Clerk and later Town Clerk. She then returned to Littleton were she worked as a receptionist to the Welfare Director and more recently worked at the Dept. of Motor Vehicles in Berlin.
Kathleen enjoyed bird watching, puzzles and especially traveling with her family. She will be deeply missed and always remembered as being very happy, always supportive and focused on helping others.
Her family members include the parents James and Susan of Lancaster, her husband of seven years, Glenn Cassady of Groveton, a stepson Joseph Cassady and her three daughters, Samantha, Whitney and Kaitlin Cassady all of Groveton; two brothers James K. MacKillop Jr. of Fort Hood, Texas and Jeremy MacKillop of Lancaster and several loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Mr. Driscoll was born in Lancaster, NH on April 20, 1964, a son of Edward Driscoll and June (Smith) Probst.
He was a 1982 graduate of White Mountain Regional High School and a two-time wrestling champion. He later served in the U.S Coast Guard out of Portland, Maine.
Teddy should be remembered for his love of family, wrestling, hunting, fishing, and his successful abilities as a great chef.

Adelene Gordon

Mrs. Gordon was born in Canaan, Vermont, on September 1, 1923, the daughter of William Murphy and Rose Taylor.
Adelene was raised in the Colebrook area where she attended schools. She later took a job as housekeeper for the Gordon family of Lancaster. There she met and married her late husband Frank Gordon. They resided in Whitefield for a time and later returned to Lancaster. She enjoyed reading and walking.
Family members include a daughter Mildred Gordon of Lancaster; two sisters, Elsie Dobson and Pauline Elliott both of Lancaster; nieces and nephews.
There are no visiting hours. A graveside service will be held in the spring at Summer Street Cemetery, Lancaster. An announcement will be published at the time.

Margaret Willing Ridgely Keith
....show , 87, died on Thursday morning, January 3, 2008, at the Country Village Health Care Center in Lancaster.
Margie was born on June 10, 1920 in Baltimore, MD to Marguerite Hunt and Julian Ridgely. She attended the Calvert and Bryn Mawr Schools and Sweet Briar College. She came to New England in her twenties when she took a job as secretary to the dean of students at Middlebury College. It was in Vermont that she met Freeman Keith, whom she married in 1950. They lived in the Montpelier area for several years before moving to Lunenburg when Freeman began work at The Stinehour Press. In 1963 the family moved to Lancaster.
Margie deeply experienced both the challenges and the blessings of this life. Musically gifted, she learned to play the piano at an early age. She and Freeman shared a life-long love of classical music, and she served as organist at many North Country church services. She welcomed neighborhood children into her home, where they had free access to the piano, the bookshelves and the toy drawer. Margie was also a lover of nature who relished long walks, found (and shared) hidden berry patches and swimming holes, made beautiful floral note cards, and appreciated the beauty of the everyday. Her creativity, generosity and capacity for love were great.
She leaves her son Christopher (and daughter-in-law Oona Johnson) of San Leandro, CA, her daughter Cynthia (and son-in-law Brown Dobyns) of Norwich, VT and Lancaster, NH, and two grand-children, James and Susannah, of San Leandro, CA. She was predeceased by her husband Freeman Keith, son Cameron "Kim" Keith, sister Julia Howe, and brothers Edward and Julian.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 9 at 1:00 pm at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Lancaster, with the Rev. David Rose officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Lancaster, or Weeks Memorial Library, Lancaster.

....show , 92, formerly of Lancaster, died Thursday, January 10, 2008, at the Morrison Nursing Home, Whitefield, where she had been a resident for the past five years.
Mrs. Kiser was born in Lancaster on February 3, 1915, a daughter of Frank and Wilma (Goodall) Whitney.
Edna was a long time resident of Lancaster. She was a homemaker, staying home to raise her children. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and taking care of her grandchildren.
Family members include two daughters, Beverly Morin of Lancaster and Mary Kenison and her husband James of Jefferson; a sister Amy Wade of Clewiston, FL and a brother Roland Whitney of Hermitage, PA; 12 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by, her husband Milton W. Kiser, a daughter Marion Reynolds, three brothers and a sister.

Charles A. "Charlie" Tibbetts
....show , 51, of Summer Street, died Friday morning January 11, 2008 in Lancaster.
Mr. Tibbetts was born in Berlin, NH, on September 16, 1956, the son of Alfred and Gloria (Vashaw) Tibbetts. He was raised in Gorham and Milan and went on to serve in the US Army.
Charlie was a talented mechanic having worked as a diesel mechanic on heavy-duty construction vehicles and specialty equipment in Texas and southwestern United States. He also worked in Massachusetts for a time and at home in Lancaster he was employed by the Forbes Farm, River Valley Equipment and Dan's Service Center where he was presently employed.
He enjoyed playing pool, Texas Hold'em poker, and cribbage. He also liked fishing and socializing but his greatest enjoyment was spending time with his grandson Koda.
A quote by a friend, "If you didn't love Charlie, you didn't know him".
Family members include his daughter Sabrina Meunier and her husband Josh of Groveton; his grandson Koda Meunier of Groveton; his loving companion Donna Gaudette of Groveton; his parents Alfred and Gloria Tibbetts of Milan; two brothers, Jimmy and Willey; three sisters, Lorna, Linda and Cathy.

Mr. Caron was born in Lancaster, NH on May 19, 1950, a son of Ralph W. and Virginia E. (Cantin) Caron.
Douglas worked for several years in the Connecticut area as a Tool and Dye Machinist. He was a veteran of the U.S Army 82nd Airborne. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and motorcyclist. He was vice president of Pioneer Valley Sportsmen Club in W. Springfield and also a member of Military Vehicles Preservation Association and enjoyed restoring antique cars.
Family members include his brother Donald and his wife Marla of Monroe, NH, a sister Janet Seymour and her husband Art of Springfield, MA, a brother George Caron and his companion Kathy Meckes of Tannersvile, PA and sister Luanne of Agawam, MA and his financee Peggy Hilton and her daughter Allison Hilton of W. Dr. Lee E. Eastman
....show , 75, of Lancaster, passed away on Thursday afternoon, February 14th, 2008 at Weeks Medical Center in Lancaster.
Lee was born in Woodsville, NH on July 11, 1932. His family moved to Lancaster, NH where he was a life long resident since the age of six. He attended Lancaster Academy and Lancaster High School, graduating in 1950. He attended the University of New Hampshire and graduated from the Massachusetts College of Optometry in 1955.
In 1953 Lee married his high school sweetheart Constance Whitcomb and they had four children Tawnya, Tamra, Lee Jr. (Skip) and Trisha. They lived in Lancaster and were married for 54 years.
In 1955 Lee joined his father-in-law Raymond Whitcomb in his optometric practice where Lee practiced optometry for 49 years until he retired in 2004. He carried on the family practice that was founded in 1895 and was the third generation of optometrists in the family.
Lee was an avid outdoorsman and spent long hours hunting, fishing and snowmobiling with his friends and family. He was a highly skilled woodworker and created many pieces of fine furniture in his extensive home woodworking shop.
Lee was very involved in Lancaster and he was an active member of the Lancaster Rotary Club since 1960 where he served as secretary, treasurer and president over the years. He volunteered hundreds of hours at the Lancaster Rotary Club Auction for over 37 years. Lee was very involved in the Lancaster Snowdrifters Club, volunteering long hours grooming the snowmobile trails and coordinating the Lancaster Grand Prix snowmobile events. He was a member of the New Hampshire Snowmobile Association where he was the chairman of the Coos County chapter. He was an avid volunteer at the Mt. Prospect Ski Club and helped build the original hut. Lee was also on the Town of Lancaster Budget Committee for 30 years, the program chairman of the Bicentennial Committee, and a director and chairman-of-the-board of the Siwooganock Bank in Lancaster. He was also the first president of the Lancaster High School Alumni association and a long time supporter of Col. Town Recreation.
Lee leaves his wife of 54 years, Constance Eastman, and his four children: son Lee (Skip) Eastman Jr.; daughter Tawnya Finkel; daughter Tamra Eastman and daughter Trisha Eastman; his five grandchildren: granddaughter Lindsay Eastman; granddaughter Abby Finkel; granddaughter Molly Finkel; grandson Joshua Rivard and granddaughter Hanna Rivard; and his three sisters: Jean Oleson, Charlotte King, Marilyn Crane, and many other family members.
Per his request there will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held on Monday morning, February 18 at 10 oclock, at St. Pauls Episcopal Church, Lancaster. Reverend John Jackson will officiate.

Henry Amie Farrow Jr.
....show , 42, of Commercial Avenue, died Monday evening February 18, 2008, at his home.
Henry was born in Nashua, NH on March 26, 1965, the son of Henry Farrow Sr. and Joyce (Smith) Farrow.
In 1966 he moved to Lancaster and two years later to Gilman where he resided for the rest of his life. In the past he has worked at the Vershire Center in St. Johnsbury. Henry loved people and everyone was his friend. He also had a special interest in the Fire Department.
Family members include his mother Joyce M. Farrow and his step-father Elwin t. Dresser of Gilman; two brothers, Timothy M. Farrow of Colebrook, Arthur Walter Farrow and wife Melissa of Whitefield; Nieces Holly Farrow and Jade Farrow both of Groveton, Brittany Farrow of Lancaster, Raegen Farrow and Madyson Farrow both of Whitefield; several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by his grandparents James Louis and Mary S. (Entsminger) Smith, two uncles, Raymond Smith, who died in WWII, and Richard Smith; and an aunt Nettie English.

Robert G. Grondin
....show , 76, of Stockwell Road, died Tuesday February 27, 2008.
Mr. Grondin was born in Biddeford, Maine, on December 29, 1931, a son of Oscar J. and Corona (Bergeron) Grondin.
Robert attended St. Louis School in Biddeford, Maine, Assumption Prep School and Assumption College in Worcester. For a time he worked with his family at Grondin Plumbing and Heating Supply, he then began working for various insurance companies, including Metropolitan Life in Biddeford, Dover and Berlin, Grondin and Cummings Insurance, Concord Group, EBM in Hampton and George M. Stevens & Son Financial Services from which he retired from in 1997.
Bob was an active member of All Saints Church in Lancaster he was a member of the Men of St. Joseph, a CCD teacher and a long term Eucharistic Minister often visiting the local nursing home. He was also very active with the Col. Town Recreations. He enjoyed getting together with relatives and friends for annual fishing trips.
He was a communicant of All Saints Church, Lancaster.

Edith "Winnie" R. Hodge
....show , 82, died Thursday February 7, 2008, at Weeks Medical Center, Lancaster.
Mrs. Hodge was born in Canaan, VT on August 28, 1925, a daughter of William and Bertrode (Russell) Rowell.
Edith was a graduate of Groveton High School; she attended Mary Hitchcock School of Nursing, where she graduated with a bachelors degree. For a time she worked as the school nurse for Lancaster Elementary, she also worked for many years with Dr. Falkenham and later Dr. Beattie until her retirement.
Winnie served on the Cemetery Commission and for a time as an auditor for Guildhall. She loved gardening and flowers, especially her asparagus beds.
She was a member of the Guildhall Community Church and a member of Adah Chapter # 39 O.E.S.
Family members include three children; Sharon Bissonnette and her husband Rep. Clement Bissonnette of Winooski, VT, Jeffrey A. Hodge of Guildhall, and Rebecca Bacon and her husband Dennis also of Guildhall; three grandchildren; Manessa R. Bacon-Galante of Manchester, NH; Martha Rose Bacon of Broken Arrow, OK; and Mitchell T. Joseph F. Monahan
....show , 73, of Elm Street, died at his home on Monday evening, February 11, 2008, after a long illness.
Mr. Monahan was born in Jefferson, NH on July 18, 1934, the son of Frank H. and Esther W. (Burke) Monahan. On March 7, 1953 he married June A. Wheeler.
Joe worked for fifteen years at Stratford Plywood until it closed and was then employed eleven years at Groveton Paper. During those years he performed additional work including carpentry, painting and property maintenance and in 1982 he started his own full time company, Joe Monahan and Crew. He worked the rest of his life up to approximately one year ago when his health failed him.
He was a member of the Lancaster Assembly of God.
Family members include his wife June A. (Wheeler) Monahan of Lancaster; six children, Kimberly (Monahan) Ingerson and her husband Lloyd of Jefferson, Rodney Monahan and his wife Elaine (Gooden) of Stark, NH, Jodi (Monahan) Welcome and her husband Wesley of E. Susan "Susie-Q" M. Moulton
....show , 46, formerly of Montpelier, VT, died February 4, 2008 after a long illness at St. Johnsbury Health and Rehab.
Susan was born in Burlington, VT on June 27, 1961, a daughter of Carl "Pat" and Mary E. (Harry) Moulton.
She was raised in Island Pond, VT where she attended schools and was a graduate of North Country High School. She also attended the VT. Job Corps, in Vergennes, VT, and received a degree as a Nursing Assistant.
She was a member of the Island Pond American Legion Post #80 and a former member of the Elks Club of Montpelier.

Nieces and Nephews are April Allin and husband Tom of N. Stratford, NH; Amber Brooks and husband Dale of Wolcott, VT; Dennis Couture and wife Pamela of Lunenburg, VT; Lizza Moulton and James Marcus of St. Johnsbury, VT; Grant Moulton of Island Pond, VT and five great nieces and nephews, Dale and Levi Brooks, Megan and Zachary Allin and especially Jacob Moulton Marcus.
A memorial service will be held in the spring at the convenience of the family. Burial will be held in Hillside Cemetery in West Burke, VT.

....show , 61, died suddenly on February 14, 2008, at Baylor University Medical Center, Dallas.
Mr. Rodger was born in Dalton, NH on November 11, 1946, a son of Ralph and Mildred (Morse) Rodger.
He was a long time resident of Lisbon, NH. Where he worked, laughed and loved. He moved to Texas on the 1970's, to work on the Alaskan Pipe Line. He happily remained in Texas for the rest of his days.
Family members include his daughter Charlotte Ingerson of Littleton; two grandchildren Sebastian and Destiny Rodger of Littleton; two sisters, June Rodger of Maine and Evelyn Bigelow of Dalton; a brother Reginald Rodger of Dalton and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by, his parents, two sisters Margerie and Ruth and a brother Leslie Rodger.
He will be missed by, all that knew him.

Mr. Smith was born in Barre, VT on August 8, 1938 the son of Milton and Irma (Coppins) Smith.
Robert served in the United States Marine Corp. For 35 years he worked as a Fish and Game Officer for the State of Vermont, retiring in 1998. He also coached youth baseball and hockey.
He was an avid reader, loved the outdoors, fishing at his camp and most of all watching his granddaughter dance.
Family members include his wife Jeanne (Tremblay) Smith of Lunenburg; his son Michael Smith and his wife Rebecca and his granddaughter Emily all of Lowell, MA and a sister Sandra Jean Ellis of Winter Haven, Florida.

Mr. Wood was born in Gilman, Vermont on June 15, 1937, the son of Kenneth and Hazel (Whitehead) Wood.
Donald worked for Gilman Paper, Maine Central Railroad, and retired from Crotched Mountain Rehab. Center in 2002.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and early morning drives through Victory and Granby, VT.

Tammy was born in Lancaster on October 30, 1970, the daughter of Donald and Kathy (Fox) Anderson.
She was raised in Gilman and was a graduate of Concord High School she also attended the Community College of Vermont. She worked in various day care centers until the birth of her son Jeremiah whom she dedicated her life to raising.
Family members include her parents of Gilman; her son Jeremiah Jacobs of Newport, VT; her maternal grandmother Pauline Fox of Gilman and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Franklin A. Batchelder Sr.
....show , 79, of Prospect Street, died Sunday morning March 2, 2008, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, White River Jct., VT.
Mr. Batchelder was born in Lyndon, Vermont, on August 22, 1928, the son of Maurice and Carolyn (Fogg) Batchelder.
Frank grew up in the East Haven and Burke, Vermont area and was a graduate of St. Johnsbury Tech School. From 1951 to 1953 he served stateside with the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Most of his life he has worked as an auto mechanic but for a time he was employed as an electrician including work at the East Haven Radar Station. His career as a mechanic included working with his father, Lydonville Auto and Roberts Motor Sales where he was employed from 1962 to 1981. He then moved to Florida where he was employed at Palm Beach Lincoln Mercury. In 1995 his wife Ruth (Dexter) died and he returned to Groveton to be close to family.
He was a Free and Accepted Mason, a member of the American Legion, former member of the Lancaster Sno-Drifters, and a former Merit Badge Counselor for the Boy Scouts of America. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and woodworking in his workshop.
Family members include three sons, Franklin A. "Bud" Batchelder Jr. and his wife Tanya of Lancaster, Michael Batchelder and his wife Nanci of Hendersonville, NC, Brian Batchelder and his wife Suzanne of Groveton; seven grandchildren, Steven Batchelder, Jenilee Batchelder, Kristina Batchelder, Travis Batchelder and with Cathrine, Todd Batchelder, Shauna Watson and husband Jeff, Zackery Batchelder; four great-grandchildren, Coral Batchelder, Katie Batchelder, Kiley Watson, Jordan Watson; a brother Donald Batchelder and his wife Gladys of Waterford, VT; and a sister Dorothy Kenison and her husband George of Lunenburg. He was also predeceased by an infant brother Richard Batchelder.

Mrs. Brown was born in Concord, VT on July 18, 1932 a daughter of Sulings and Jennie (Wilson) Hodgdon.
Vivian was the Post Master in Granby for thirty years. She loved her flowers and lived for her family.

morning March 5, 2008, at Country Village Health Care Center, Lancaster.
Mrs. Flanders was born in East Barnet, Vermont, on July 30, 1919, the
daughter of Earl and Ethel (Berwick) Dennonville.
She resided for a short time in East Barnet and was raised in St. Johnsbury.
She was a 1937 graduate of St. Johnsbury Academy and completed the business
course there. She was well known from her years working at Moultons Snack
Shop in St. Johnsbury, a job she truly loved.
Ruth married Forrest G. Flanders on September 6, 1947 in Belmont NH.
Ruth was a homemaker and very active member of the First Church of Christ Scientist in Littleton where she served as Second Reader and Treasurer.
She enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking and pickling for family and friends. She loved to dance, and travel to visit with family and friends throughout Virginia, Tennessee, California and Indiana. She enjoyed many winters in Labelle Florida after retirement. Switzerland was one of her most memorable trips. She loved
and enjoyed life and all of its simple pleasures and was grateful for
everything provided daily by God.
Family members include three daughters, Constance Flanders Costello of
Whitefield, Joy Flanders Kobelt and her husband Michael of Chico, CA, Terri
Flanders Hollinden and her husband David of Ireland, IN; 5 Grandchildren, Olivia Kobelt of San Diego CA, Greg Costello of Columbus OH, Elizabeth Hollinden, Ben Brooks, Rachel Hollinden of Ireland IN; 2 Great-Grandchildren Patrick and Hannah Costello of Columbus OH; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by, her husband Forrest G. Flanders in June of 2007. Two sisters Josephine Falkenham, Ernestine Matthews and a brother Raymond Dennonville also predeceased her.
Visiting hours will be held Saturday morning, March 8, from 10:00 AM to
12:00 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A service will follow
immediately after at 12:00 PM at the Funeral Home followed by a luncheon.

Marilyn was born in Gorham, NH on March 30, 1927, a daughter of Cyril and Marion (Gadwah) Foster.
For a time she lived and cared for her mother, who lived to be 103. She worked for several years as a dispatcher for State of New Hampshire Highway Department.
In her younger years she enjoyed fishing and loved to take her nieces and nephews along.
Family members include her brother, Maurice Foster and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by, four siblings Bradley Foster, Beverly Foster, Lyman Riff and Richard Riff.

Joseph E. Gott
....show , 69, died Thursday morning March 13, 2008 at his home on Portland Street.
Mr. Gott was born in Springfield, Missouri on November 11, 1938, the son of Edmond and Jessie Marie (Steele) Gott.
Joe was raised in Springfield, Missouri and then attended St. Benedicts College in Atchison, Kansas earning his undergraduate degree. He furthered his education at the University of Missouri where he earned his graduate degree. During the Vietnam War he served in the US Marine Corp with the Intelligence Division. Returning stateside he continued his studies at Northeastern University. Several years later he attended the prosthetics program at Northwestern University becoming a prosthetist. He moved to Lancaster to own and operate the Lancaster Motor Inn for 18 years, retiring in 2003.
He continued his military career throughout his life having served 25 years in the U.S. Marine Reserves, retiring as a Lt. Colonel.
He was a member of the Lancaster Rotary Club.
Family members include his wife Elena Alexeevna (Voronova) Gott of Lancaster; two daughters, Heather Durrell and her husband Ian of London, England; Elise Bellitti and her husband Ty of Bellingham, MA; two stepsons, Michael Reznichenko and Konstantin Reznichencko both of Moscow, Russia; a brother John Gott and his wife Sherrie of Missouri; two sisters Penny Ricketts and her husband Cliff of Missouri, Mary Gott of Missouri; two grandchildren Alexey and Veronica of Moscow, Russia; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial visiting hours will be held Sunday afternoon, March 16, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. At 4:00 PM an informal time of remembrance will follow at the funeral home. Friends and family will be invited to share thoughts and memories of Joe at that time. Clayton John Hicks
....show , 93, passed away quietly, on Friday March 28, 2008, at Weeks Medical Center. His daughter Jennifer, son in-law David and Granddaughter Erin were at his side.
Mr. Hicks was born in Jefferson on January 28, 1915, a son of Forrest and Albertina (Dorr) Hicks.
Clayton was a life long resident of Jefferson. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He worked many jobs over the years in order to support his family. Including working as a Logger, farmer, truck driver, heavy equipment operator and deliveryman.
Pappy gained pleasure from the simple things in life, travel, the outdoors, good food, but his greatest joy and pride came from his family and many friends.
He leaves eight children, Clayton Thayer Hicks and wife Cathy of Plymouth, NH; Edward Kent Hicks and wife Ann of Jefferson; Wanda Lacasse and husband Ted of Berlin; John Hicks and wife Crystal of Virginia Beach, VA; Forrest Hicks and wife Bonnie of Jefferson; William Hicks and wife Linda of Whitefield; Bruce Hicks and wife Sheila of Jefferson and Jennifer Foster and husband David of Jefferson; twenty seven grandchildren, thirty nine great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; a sister Audrey Daily of Tonawanda, NY; his sister in-law Betty Gainer of Lancaster; and a brother in-law Ted Clukay of Jefferson. He is also survived by, the children of Lois Kenison with whom he had a special relationship. They include Deana Colborn and husband George, Lynn Clark and husband Bill, Tim Kenison and wife Jeannie and Terry Kenison and wife Diana. He was predeceased by, his wife Patricia (Thayer) Hicks and later Lois Kenison, as well as a daughter Katherine Hicks Mathieu.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at All Saints Church, Lancaster. Reverend Raymond Ball, pastor will officiate. Mr. LaRoche was born in Keene, NH, on September 26, 1946, the son of Edward and Shirley (Perry) LaRoche.
Raised in Keene Glen was a graduate of Keene High School. He served in Vietnam with the US Marine Corp and later attended Keene State College and Plymouth State College and acquired a degree as a master electrician. For a time he lived and worked in Texas later returning to New Hampshire where he started his own company, Dalton Electric. He enjoyed fishing and swimming and was known as a workaholic and a perfectionist.
Family members include two sons, Alex LaRoche of Dalton, presently stationed in Iraq, Matt LaRoche of Dalton and Lyndon State College; two daughters, Glenna Bell of Grenbury, Texas, Shirley Reagon of Grand Prairie, Texas; his mother Shirley S. LaRoche of Keene; a brother Timothy LaRoche Sr. of Gilsum; a sister Linda Sbeiral of Willington, Texas; and five grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his father Edward LaRoche and a brother Charles LaRoche.
A visiting hour will be held Saturday morning March 22, from 10:00 to 11:00 at the Lancaster Congregational United Church of Christ. A funeral service will immediately after at 11:00. Rev. Virginia Alvarez, pastor, will officiate. Burial with military honors will be held at a later date in the Surry Village Cemetery, Surry, NH.

Helen Harris Putnam

Mrs. Putnam was born in Whitefield on December 22, 1912, a daughter of William A. and Lydia A. (Priest) Harris.
Helen was a graduate of Whitefield High School, She moved to Connecticut in 1944 and returned to Whitefield in the 1970s.
She was a member of the Whitefield Historical Society and the Community Baptist Church, Whitefield.
Family members include a brother, Lauren M. Harris; one sister, Roxana H. Peck both of Whitefield and nieces and nephews. Her husband Raymond H. Putnam Jr., brothers Winston Harris, George Harris and William Harris Jr., two sisters Mabel Harris and Ruth Harris, predeceased her.

Michael C. Streeter
....show of Highland Street, died March 26, 2008 in Whitefield at the age of 54.
Mr. Streeter was born in Concord, Vermont on February 1, 1954, the son of Willard D. and Pauline E. (Belmore) Streeter.
Mike was raised in Dalton where he was a longtime time resident there and in Whitefield. He traveled and worked about the US and touched many lives from Nenana, Alaska to Naples and Key Largo, Florida. For a time he was employed as sous chef at the Mt. Washington Hotel. Mike had many friends and will be remembered as a loving uncle.
He was a member of the Littleton Elks #1831 and was an avid NASCAR fan.
Family members include two brothers, Dana Streeter of Ossipee, Dennis Streeter of Whitefield; a sister Patricia Hewitt of Manchester; a nephew Christopher; two nieces Stephanie and Statia; and two grand nieces Quynne and Phoebe. His parents predeceased him.
