passed away at the Good Samaritan Hospital on Long Island, N.Y., Feb. 24, 2008. She was 91. Emma was born in Manhattan, N.Y., April 21, 1916. She and her siblings were first generation Italian Americans. Her first husband, Robert A. Viegelmann, passed away Oct. 9, 1984. She remarried Wilbur "Woody" Luzier. He passed away May 2000. She was a parishioner of Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, member of the Home Dem Club and an active volunteer for the Danville Senior Meal Site. She is survived by three children, Walter T. Viegelmann and wife Fran of Robbins, N.C., Dorothy A. Wood of Richmond, Va., and Robert E. (Bob) Viegelmann of West Babylon, N.Y. Surviving siblings are her sister, Dorothea C. Brick of Southern Pines, N.C., and her brother, Hugo Surdi of West Palm Beach, Fla. In her later years, Emma lived with her son, Bob. She maintained her Danville residence where her heart was content to call home. Graveside services will be held in the spring, Friday, May 30, at 11 a.m. at the Danville Green Cemetery. of Burlington, Vt., died peacefully with her family at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital Friday evening, March 7, 2008, at the age of 84. Born in Burlington on Jan. 6, 1924, Rita was the daughter of Michael J. Giroux Sr. and Ernestine (Moran) Giroux. She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth 'Jake' St. Louis; her daughter, Maryanne Mulholland; by a sister, Jeannette Cormier; and by two brothers, Arthur Giroux and Michael J. Giroux Jr. She is survived by her son-in-law, Peter Mulholland of Grand Isle; grandchildren Russell Humphrey, Cathy Houck and her husband Chris; a great-granddaughter Kalley Mulholland; brothers Raymond Giroux and wife Waja, William Giroux and wife Cathy; sisters-in-law Marie Giroux of Burlington, Dorothy Cummings and her husband Kermit; many nieces and nephews. The family will observe a graveside service in the spring. There will be no visiting hours.

, 55, of Orleans, Vt., died suddenly on March 7, 2008, at his home in Orleans. He was born Dec. 20, 1952, in Brownington a son of Wesley and Esther (Crawshaw) Lafoe. Mr. Lafoe was an inspector for Tivoly MFG in Derby Line. He is survived by two brothers, Ricky Lafoe of North Troy, Vt., and Brian Lafoe and his wife Judy of Orleans; and by a sister, Carol Whittier and her fiancee John Alexander of Newport Center, Vt. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. 87, Greensboro Bend, Vt., died in the peace of his home on Friday, March 7, 2008. Born in Walden, Vt., Jan. 28, 1921, he was the son of Harvey and Maude (Burnham) Dunbar. On Feb. 14, 1942, he married Marie Paule Demers. He attended Walden School, a one-room schoolhouse. Glen was a U.S. Army veteran. He spent most of his early adult years as a self-employed lumberjack. One of his notable accomplishments in 20 plus years as a lumberjack was clearing the land for Hazen Union High School. He traded in his axe for a hammer and went to work for contractors Iglehart & Merrill as a finish carpenter for 20 years, retiring in 1983. He continued to work caretaking numerous summer homes around Caspian Lake. Glen was locally known as a jack of all trades. He was also a civil servant. He served on the Greensboro School Board and was a town constable. He was a parishioner at St. Michael Catholic Church and a past member of Knights of Columbus, 4th degree. Glen was an avid outdoorsman, especially known for his deer-hunting accomplishments. He won the state acclaim for a 284-pound trophy deer in Vermont in 1949. Beekeeping and gardening were also his passions. His family has very fond memories of snowmobiling, and playing horseshoes and croquet with him. His greatest pleasure was his family, which always came first in his life. He found a great source of pride in his children and grandchildren and their many accomplishments. He took great satisfaction in providing for his large family with huge gardens and a lot of wild game. As he called it, "living off the fat of the land." He was predeceased by nine brothers and sisters. He is survived by one sister, Nellie Staves of Tupper Lake, N.Y. He is also survived by his bride of 66 years, Marie Dunbar; his eight children and their spouses, Gene and Maryse, David and Marty, Nancy and Bill, Jerry and Yvette, Diane and Allan, Daniel and Maria, Suze and Vince, Joanne and Doug. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Over their many decades in the Greensboro community, Glen and Marie formed many close friendships, and Glen will be missed greatly by all. Funeral services will be held at St. Michael Catholic Church, Greensboro Bend, on Wednesday, March 12, at 11 a.m. Calling hours will be Tuesday, March 11, 7 to 9 p.m. at Des Groseilliers Funeral Home, 17 Church St., Hardwick, Vt. of St. Johnsbury, Vt., passed away at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital Saturday afternoon, March 8, 2008, peacefully with family and friends by her side. Born in Lyndonville, Vt., on Aug. 8, 1921, she was the daughter of George and Ruth (McDowell) Rousseau of Grand Isle, Vt. She attended Grand Isle schools and graduated from Burlington High School in 1939 and from Burlington Business College in 1941. Yvonne was employed at Penn Mutual Insurance Co. from 1941 to 1944 and Prudential Insurance Co. of America in St. Johnsbury from 1958 to 1983, at which time she retired. She became a member of Grace United Methodist Church in 1974. She married Dean C. Reed of St. Johnsbury on June 7, 1974. After retirement, she volunteered at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital from 1984 to 2007, enjoyed many crafts and did lots of walking. She realized a dream when the Red Sox won in 2004 and again in 2007. Survivors include her husband, Dean C. Reed; her two daughters, Shelley (Fortin) Snyder and husband Robert, Nickie (Fortin) Albright and husband Ron; Dean's two daughters, her daughter-in-heart Shelly Farnsworth and husband Doug, and Sara Willis and husband David; Yvonne's brother Ronald K. Rousseau of North Hero, Vt., seven grandchildren, David and Ben, Alex, Derek and Geoffrey, and Stephen and Kristal; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Yvonne was predeceased by two brothers, Arthur McDowell Rousseau and Dr. David George Rousseau. Services will be held Friday, March 14 at 10 a.m. at Grace United Methodist Church with the pastor, the Rev. John Marshall officiating. She will be buried in the Lyndon Center Cemetery with her grandparents, Dr. Arthur C. McDowell and Edith (Dwinell) McDowell. There will be no visiting hours. , 88, of North Bend, Ore., died March 7, 2008, in Coos Bay, Ore. John was born Nov. 9, 1919, in Fairfield, Conn., one of 10 children of Julius and Katherine (Kapusta) Kutsagoitz. John first worked for Untied States Aluminum Co. in Fairfield, Conn. He met Lillian Ruth Stupack there, and they married in June 1942. He entered the U.S. Navy in 1944, completed Electrician Mate's School and was ranked as fireman first class. He served in the Pacific on the destroyer U.S.S. Trathen. At the end of the war, he returned to Connecticut and was a fireman for the Southport fire Department. He moved to Monroe, N.H., in 1948 where he lived and farmed on Fairfield Fam in North Monroe. As well as farming, he delivered Eastern States Grain for many years as well as driving children to and from school bus stops. In 1969, he went to work for North Country Farms in North Monroe. He drove truck until 1981 when he became part owner of Hillside Acres Farm in Barnet Center, Vt. Upon retirement in 1989, he moved to Medford, Ore., and then to North Bend, Ore., in 2004. John was a volunteer firefighter for the North Monroe Fire Department for many years. He played harmonica and accordion. He enjoyed gardening, especially growing flowers. He grew beautiful roses. He liked his cats. He loved his family and very much enjoyed being a grandfather and great-grandfather. He very much enjoyed staying in touch with people from Monroe and keeping up with the news through them and The Caledonian-Record newspaper. Survivors include five children, Barbara Kaye of Tacoma, Wash., John Kaye and wife Terry of Silverton, Ore., Celeste Tyson and husband Steve of North Bend, Penny Stevenson and husband Norman of West Barnet, Vt., and Adreienne Rodd and husband Tino of St. Johnsbury; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Wanda Messwick of Fairfield, Conn. His parents, eight sisters and brothers, his wife of 63 years and a grandson, William Hageman Jr., preceded him in death. , of 63 Parker Ave., St. Johnsbury, Vt., passed away early Monday morning, March 10, 2008, at the age of 72. She was able to die at home with her family by her side after courageously facing her battle with cancer. She was born in South Fayston, Vt., Nov. 5, 1935, one of four children born to John and Grace (Boucher) Downer. Kathy was employed by the Area Agency on Aging for 20 years and retired in 1999. She was a certified tax preparer and specialized in doing taxes for the elderly She was an active member of the Third Congregational Church in East St. Johnsbury. She volunteered at The Food Shelf and at hospice which was in keeping with her very giving nature. She is survived by her husband, Robert, whom she married Jan. 1, 1956; three children, Richard Mayhew and wife JoAnn of St. Johnsbury, Susan Ferguson and husband Christopher of Fletcher, Karen Lee and husband Kenneth of Lebanon N.H.; her seven grandchildren, Patrick, Jackson, and Katie, Zachary and Alex, Nicholas and Natasha; one brother, John "Jack" Downer Jr. and wife Lorraine of Morrisville; one sister-in-law, Carol Downer of Dalton, Mass.; Bob's brother and sisters, John Mayhew and wife Sonja of Vernon, Conn., Donalda Page of Barnet, Sarah Bergen and husband David of North Granby, Conn., Marie Batchelder and husband Arlan of Walden; cousins, nieces and nephews. , 83, formerly of Millis, Mass., died Friday, March 7, 2008, at Kindred Hospital in Braintree. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Joseph and Fannie (DeFranzo) Pennini. He graduated from Commerce High School in Roslindale in 1942 before attending Northeastern College where he earned a bachelor's degree before graduating in 1952. Among his many jobs were sales representative, banker, milkman and working for Fuller Brush as well as the Dairy Queen in Middleboro. Retiring in Vermont, he thoroughly enjoyed being outdoors to hunt and fish. He is survived by his children, Joseph G. Pennini of Norfolk, Donna J. McDonough of Franklin, John F. Pennini and George D. Pennini of Middleboro, Gerard E. "Jerry" Pennini of Millis, Carol J. Pennini of Milford, Ellen J. Tilton of Newcastle, Maine., and Mary-Adele Wyman of Durham, Maine; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his wife, Mildred (Riley) Pennini and three sisters, Mary Coffey, Ann Ciaccio, and Julia Mistler. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 12 at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 82 Exchange St., Millis, followed by burial with military honors at St. Michael Cemetery in Boston. of Newport, Vt., and Fort Myers, Fla., passed away peacefully on Friday March 7, 2008, at his home in Newport. The youngest of four children, he was born in St. Johnsbury, Vt., on May 31, 1921, the son of Charles and Maude Howe. He graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy and the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. Shortly after graduation, he joined the U.S. Navy where he served on the U.S.S. Bremerton during World Ware II. Paul returned to Vermont after the war and married Elena Coletti, his wife of 61 years who survives him. Paul began his optometric practice in Windsor, Vt., before moving to Newport in 1946, where he was the local optometrist for over 40 years. He was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed golf, hunting, fishing and skiing. He treasured many enjoyable days spent at the Newport Country Club, and "Doc Howe's group" was a familiar sight on the fairways. He was a past member of the Knights of Columbus, Rotary Club, Elks Club and the Newport Country Club. Dr. Howe is survived by his wife, Elena; and their two sons and families, Gregory Howe and wife Billie and their children Emily and Lindsay Howe of Derby, Vt., and Dr. James Howe and wife Rita and their children Tanner Howe and wife Hillery and daughter Chloe of New York City, Justin Howe of Wilmington, N.C., and Andrew and Julia Howe of Shelburne,Vt.; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Raymond and George Howe; and one sister, Muriel Wood. , 73, formerly of Island Pond, Vt., and Groveton, N.H., died peacefully on Sunday, March 9, 2008 at The Pines Nursing Home in Lyndonville, Vt., where she has been a resident since November 2007. Born in Lancaster, N.H., on Aug. 13, 1934, a daughter of Hollis and Pauline (Crawford) Sawyer, she was raised in Groveton and was a graduate of the Groveton High School, Class of 1952. Bethany moved to Island Pond in the mid 1950s and resided there until moving back to Groveton about six years ago. She was the co-owner and operator of the Doyon & Co. Hardware store in Island Pond for many years. She also was a cook for the Island Pond School and the Patenaud Nursing Home in Derby, Vt. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Island Pond and the Red Hat Society. She loved doing arts and crafts and cooking for others, the more the merrier. She was a people person and enjoyed spending time with others. Bethany will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her son, John Doyon and his daughter, Cassidy of Island Pond, Vt.; son Thomas Doyon and wife Peggy along with their daughters Tracie Lambert and husband Lee, Jill Doyon and Jackie Doyon all of Groveton; her deceased son Peter Doyon's children Nicholas Doyon; Breanne Doyon and Dominique Doyon all of Florida; and five great-grandchildren. Bethany was predeceased by her father, Hollis Sawyer; mother Pauline Sawyer Ververis; stepfather George Ververis; son Peter Doyon; sister Anna Watkins; and brother Richard Sawyer. , 48, of Houston, Texas, and Soouth Peacham, Vt., passed away from complications of the flu at NVRH on Saturday, March 8, 2008. Rochelle was born in Houston and lived most of her life in Texas. She first visited Peacham in 2005 with Frank Miller who was to become her fiancé. She came to love this place and they returned often. Rochelle and Frank were engaged in August and planned to be married at the Peacham Church in the spring. Rochelle is survived by her mother, Marjorie Miller; her sister, Rita Schneider and family all of Texas; her brother, Wayne Miller of California; and her fiancé, Frank Miller. A memorial service will be held in Peacham in the spring.

, 84, of Fairlee, Vt., and formerly of Bradford, Vt., for many years, died Tuesday, March 11, 2008 surrounded by family and his dogs at the home of his granddaughter, Brenda Atherton. He was born on May 27, 1923, in Lyme, N.H., the son of Burten and Cora ( Blackman) Elder. He attended schools in Bradford, and was a graduate of Bradford Academy. He was married to Esther Crusius on April 13, 1954, she predeceased him on March 26, 2003. On Jan. 6, 1942, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged on Dec. 20, 1945. He then returned home and worked for his father in the local garage business as a mechanic for many years and then was employed for Bradford Veneer and Panel Company of Bradford, and also for Armore Meat Packing Company; and then for 22 years, he worked for the Bradford Golf Club. Guy was a member of the United Church of Christ of Bradford, and the American Legion Post 20 of Woodsville, N.H. He enjoyed NARCAR racing, fishing and his dogs. He is survived by one daughter, Sandy Bonnayer of Ware, Mass.; and one son, David Judge of Amerillo, Texas; two granddaughters, Brenda Atherton of Fairlee, and Heather Morse of Ware, Mass.; one grandson, Rick Colbeth of Woodsville; one sister, Ethel Hayes of Etna, N.H. He was predeceased by his wife, Esther Elder and one sister, Irene Fortin. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2008, at 1 p.m. at Hale Funeral Home, Upper Plain, Bradford. Visiting hours will be Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be held in the spring in the family lot in the Sawyer Cemetery in Bradford.

, 47, of Danville, Vt. and formerly of Coventry, died Tuesday, March 11, 2008, at the V.A. Hospital in White River Junction, due to complications from his service during the Persian Gulf War. He was born May 4, 1960 in Memphis, Tenn., a son of Philip and Susan (Kinney) Gaboriault. He graduated from Lyndon Institute in 1978. From 1979-1982, and later from 1989-1993, Mike served in the U.S. Army. He was a tank mechanic and later a helicopter mechanic during the Persian Gulf War. He was extremely proud of his service to his country. Mike worked in the Northeast Kingdom as an 18-wheel truck driver, and also as a logger and skidder operator. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Survivors include his companion, Renee Davis of Danville, and her son Willson; his twin sons, Kevin and Steven Gaboriault of Virginia; his parents, Philip and Susan Gaboriault of Maidstone, Vt.; four brothers, Mitchell Gaboriault and wife Cynthia of Goffstown, N.H., Steven Gaboriault and wife Susan of Bow, N.H., James Gaboriault of Vernon, Vt., and Paul Gaboriault and wife Lisa of Huntington, Vt.; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. A gathering of friends and family will be held Saturday, March 15 from 12 to 2 p.m. at the Guibord Funeral Home. A luncheon will follow from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Lyndonville V.F.W. located on Hill Street. A graveside service is being planned for late spring in Hardwick, Vt. , 72, longtime West Burke, Vt., teacher, died Wednesday, March 12, 2008, at the Pines Rehabilitation and Health Center in Lyndon. She was born June 5, 1935, in Northfield, Vt.,, a daughter of David and Josephine (Donahue) LeFebvre. Reva graduated from Northfield High School in 1952. She graduated from the University of Vermont in 1956 with a Bachelor of Science degree in primary education. She married Theodore H. "Ted" Bollman on Dec. 28, 1956. They moved from Burlington to West Burke in 1966. In 1960, she began her teaching career at Mallets Bay and Colchester schools until 1964. After raising her young family, she resumed her teaching career in the early 1970s at the Burke schools. Mrs. Bollman retired in 1998. She did dedicate her life to her students. During the 1970s, she started the adult education program in West Burke and taught two evenings per week. Halloween was her favorite holiday; many may remember the soda she used to give to each child who stopped at her house. Survivors include three children, Scott Bollman of Wheelock, Eric Bollman of Lyndonville, and Sonja Bollman of Lyndon; six grandchildren, Eric, Amber, Elizabeth, Katie, Taylor and Evan; one great-granddaughter Kiara; a brother, Ralph LeFebvre and wife Deborah of Holyoke, Mass.; two sisters-in-law, Esther LeFebvre of Northfield and Phyllis LeFebvre of Bristol, Conn.; her husband Ted's family, Alexander Bollman and wife Ruth of Wilcox, Ariz., Thomas Bollman of Bethel, Vt., Marie Moresco and husband Richard of San Francisco, Calif., Genevieve Panconi of Edison, N.J., and Rachel LeFebvre of Florida; nieces and nephews; and her best friend, Pauline Doyon of West Burke. She was predeceased by her husband, Ted, in 2003; a granddaughter, Emily Bollman in 1994; sister Glenna LeFebvre; and three brothers, Donald, Wendell and Edward LeFebvre. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday, March 17, at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Lyndonville with the Rev. Jon-Daniel Schnobrich, celebrant. He enjoyed playing golf, NASCAR racing, fishing and his dogs and his favorite pastime was to look for lost golf balls in the mornings. He is survived by one daughter, Sandy Bonnayer of Ware, Mass., and one son, David Judge of Abilene, Texas; two granddaughters, Brenda Atherton of Fairlee, Vt., and Heather Morse of Ware; one grandson, Rick Colbeth of Woodsville; nine great-grandchildren, Dennis Perry II, Cody Perry, Breanna Morse, Kaylee Morse, Nickolas Morse, Lauren Colbeth, Samantha Colbeth, Cory Colbeth and Christopher Colbeth; one sister, Ethel Hayes of Etna, N.H. He was predeceased by his wife Esther Elder and one sister, Irene Fortin. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2008, at 1 p.m. at Hale Funeral Home, Upper Plain, Bradford. Visiting hours will Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be held in the spring in the family lot in the Sawyer Cemetery in Bradford.

, 58, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, at the Littleton Regional Hospital. Gail was born on July 29, 1949, a daughter to Henry and Madeline (Sanborn) Carbonneau in Littleton, N.H. She attended area schools. Gail was a housing coordinator for Northern New Hampshire Mental Health Center from 1987 to 1996. She was also a property manager for Marken Properties of Holyoke, Mass., managing properties in St. Johnsbury and Windsor, Vt. until she became ill and could no longer work. Gail enjoyed gardening and knitting hats and sweaters for her grandchildren, which were her whole life. She loved spending time with her family and friends, and touched many lives. Surviving family members include her husband of 41 years, Norman Allaire; their three children and their spouses, Greg and Kerrey Allaire, Jon and Jamie Allaire, and Michelle and Larry Leavitt; 12 grandchildren; two brothers and their wifes, Tim and Patti Carbonneau, and Mike and Gloria Carbonneau; two sisters, Jean Carbonneau, and Carlene and Fred Lyndes; and her mother-in-law, Helen Allaire. Gail was predeceased by her parents; her brother, Steve Carbonneau; and her granddaughter, Alli Allaire. Calling hours will be held on Friday evening, March 14, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Pillsbury Funeral Home, 101 Union Street, Littleton, N.H. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 15, at 10 a.m., at the funeral home with the Rev. Edward Lopeman officiating. Burial will be in the Glenwood Cemetery at a later date. McCullock of Leesburg, Va.; the uncle of Alexis Deegan, Patrick-Henry Deegan, Tyler McCullock and Brittany McCullock. , 56, of St. Johnsbury, Vt., died Saturday afternoon, March 15, 2008, at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital. He was born June 26, 1951, in St. Johnsbury, a son of Patrick and Virginia (Chamberlain) Brown. Pat graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy in 1969 and later attended Lyndon State Collage. On July 30, 1971, Pat married Linda Comeau. From 1972-1975 Pat worked for Hy-Ten Die and Development Corp. in Milford, N.H., as an apprentice injector mold maker. From 1975-1989 he worked for Mardon Industries in Lyndon as a machinist and tool maker before becoming a production supervisor and a tool/fixture designer, later becoming manufacturing engineer and sales manager. From 1989-1998 Pat worked for Burndy Corp. in Littleton as the manufacturing and operations manager. From 1998 to the present, he was an operations engineer at Vermont Aerospace in St. Johnsbury. In his off time Pat enjoyed scuba diving and was on the St. Johnsbury Fire Dept. Dive Team for many years. Other favorite pastimes included going for rides with Linda on their Harley-Davidson motorcycle, playing hockey, poker, cribbage, deer and bird hunting, camping, and barbecuing with family and friends. A loving and devoted husband, father, father in-law and grandfather, some of Pat's most precious moments were playing with and teaching his sons to be good sportsman, and the quality time he had with his granddaughter, Emily. Survivors include his wife Linda Brown of St. Johnsbury; his mother Virginia Brown of Littleton N.H.; two sons: Jonathan Brown and wife Renee and their daughter Emily of Thetford, Peter Brown and companion Erin Owen of Brooklyn, N.Y.; three brothers: Michael Brown and wife Debra of St. Petersburg, Fla., Richard Brown and wife Fae of St. Johnsbury, Christopher Brown and wife Cheri of Williston; two sisters: Ellie Toombs and husband Robert of New Bern, N.C., Brenda Paulin and husband Frank of St. Johnsbury; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, many nieces and nephews, and his best friend Guy "Frenchy" Demers and his wife Rachel of St. Johnsbury. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Johnsbury Wednesday, March 19, at 2 p.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church. The Rev. Patrick Forman will be the celebrant. Burial will be in May at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. of East Concord, Vt., passed away with his family at his side at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital in St. Johnsbury, Vt., Saturday morning, March 15, 2008. He was born in Worcester, Mass., on April 12, 1939, the son of the Albert and Hazel (Rivers) Garand. His dear wife Evelyn (Gervais) Garand passed away Aug. 9, 2003. Roland was a loving family man. He and Evelyn regularly attended Mass at St. Leo's and St. Theresa's. His family remembers how proud he was of his work as a machinist for 35 years at the Gilman Paper Mill. He loved his hunting, camping and boating, but especially loved going fishing on the Connecticut River where he always could be seen wearing his signature captain's hat. He and is dog Shelley were constant companions. He is survived by three daughters: Theresa Silver and husband Doug of Hill, N,H., Patricia Garand of Manchester, N.H., Pamela Simonds and husband Daniel of Lunenburg, Vt.; five grandchildren: Jamie, Kayla and Stephanie, Jessica and Daniel; two great-grandchildren Levi and Tiffany; three surviving brothers: Albert Garand of Hancock, N.H., Reginald Garand of St. Johnsbury, Arnold Garand of Waterford, Vt.; sister Joyceline Gadapee of Elliot, Maine; nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Johnsbury Wednesday at noon at St. John the Evangelist Church. Cremation will follow the Mass; he will be buried in May with his wife at the Overlook Cemetery in East Concord. There will be no visiting hours. These contributions will be used in support of a young Tristan Morris who is battling an acute lymphoma; Roland was supporting his care with a monthly stipend.
