, 82, of Pine Mill Road, died Friday, April 4, 2008, at the Lakes Region General Hospital in Laconia, N.H. Born on Feb. 15, 1926, in Barre. He was the son of Vernon Elwin and Gladys Ramola (Harvey) Bylow. He attended elementary school and Spaulding High School both in Barre. On Feb. 2, 1944, he enlisted in the United States Navy in Springfield, Mass., and attained the rank of Seaman 1st Class. He served on the SS Joseph Cannon and the SS James Bowie and received an honorable discharge on Jan. 20, 1946 in Boston, Mass. On April 5, 1947, he married Marjorie Esther Moody. They made their home in Barre before moving to Providence, R.I. so that he could attend refrigeration school. They moved back to East Barre and later to Wells River before settling in Woodsville, N.H. She died on Nov. 19, 2006. In 2007, he moved to North Haverhill, N.H. In earlier years, Oland worked several family grocery stores in the Barre area and later for the Grand Union stores in Barre, Wells River and New Hampshire with a home sales route. In 1954, he went to work for the Boston and Maine Railroad in Wells River, Woodsville, and surrounding areas as a brakeman and conductor. He was employed in that capacity for many years before retiring due to a disability. A member of the United Methodist Church in Woodsville, N.H., his other memberships included the VFW Post 5245 where he was a past commander and the Iona Lafayette Chapter 39 OES where he was a past Patron, both North Haverhill, N.H.; the Pulaski Masonic Lodge in Wells River, the United Transportation Union; the United States Navy Memorial; and the Republican National Committee. His hobbies and interests were CB radios and collecting model trains, stamps, and coins. He was very active in politics and campaigns and at one time served as the doorkeeper for the Sergeant-At-Arms at the New Hampshire State Senate. He is survived by his daughter, Dianna M. Hannett and her husband, David F. Hannett of Moultonboro, N.H.; three grandchildren, Jon W. Brooks, Jeremy W. Brooks, and Jaime E. Brooks; four great-grandchildren, Zachary, Jaelyn, Grace, and Jack Brooks; his brother, Ira Bylow and his wife, Connie of Springfield, Mass.; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, Ellen Bylow and Thelma Bylow and two brothers, Vernon Bylow who was killed at sea during WWII and Benjamin Bylow. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2008, at 11 a.m. in the Hope Cemetery in Barre. There are no calling hours. , 59, of East Hardwick died Tuesday, April 8, 2008, at the Copley Hospital in Morrisville. He was born Dec. 20, 1948, in Worcester, Mass., the son of Richard W. and Jeannette (Bilodeau) Beaupre. He attended public school in Northbridge, Mass. On Feb. 14, 1999, he married Brenda Sue Keene in East Hardwick, where they have since made their home. In his earlier years he was employed by Wyman Gordon in Grafton, Mass. He later moved to Vermont where he was a self-employed custodian and for several years he worked at Wal-Mart in Littleton, N.H. He retired in 2002 due to failing health. He loved rottweilers and enjoyed hunting, traveling and watching mystery shows on television. Survivors include his wife, Brenda, of East Hardwick; two stepsons, Joshua Ludwig and Cameron Ludwig, both of East Hardwick; two daughters, Lisa Hawkins and her husband, Peter, Michele Brooks-Kamau and her husband, Peter, all of Uxbridge, Mass.; four sons, Robert Beaupre of Sutton, Mass., Richard Beaupre and his wife, Amy, of East Brookfield, Mass., Christopher Beaupre and his wife, Hannah, and Ronald Beaupre Jr. and his wife, Tara, all of Northbridge, Mass.; his mother, Jeannette Beaupre, of Northbridge, Mass.; 22 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; five siblings, Paul Beaupre, Jeff Beaupre, Darlene Frasier, Kevin Beaupre and Laurie Woodward; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Bethann Brooks, with whom he shared his birthday, and his father, Richard W. Beaupre. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 12, at 1 p.m., at the Northern Vermont Funeral Home, 60 Elm Street, Hardwick. , known affectionately as Grammy, died March 8, 2008, at her home in Locust Grove, Va. at the age of 82. Anita was born Jan. 25, 1926, in Norton, Vt. She is survived by her husband, Richard Maroney, of Locust Grove. Other survivors include her sons, Alan and Debbie Maroney of Woodbridge, Va.; Stephen Sr. and Amy Maroney of Locust Grove; daughters Mary and Sal Scriva of Woodgridge, Michelle Davey of Manassas, Va., Rhonda Simcox of Locust Grove, Lori and Gene Thomas of Falmouth, Va.; grandchildren Richie and Katie Maroney, Carmen and Salvy Scriva, Jesse and Steven Thomas, Nicole Fitterer, Chelsea and Kimberly Davey, Laura Van der Vliet, Eddie and Samanth Simcox, Stephen Maroney Jr.; great-grandchildren Cameron Clark and Aislyn Harrison. died in Gainsville, Ga. on April 8, 2008. He was born May 14, 1920, to Charles and Salenia Corbin in Barnet, Vt. Archie served in World War II. After the war, he lived with the Angus Sheppard family for over 50 years. When he retired from New England Power, he moved to Florida. Later, he moved to Georgia so he could be looked after. There are no known living relatives. Graveside services will be held in St. Johnsbury at a later date to be announced.

Carol leaves behind her loving husband and best friend of 39 years, Ed Patterson, Sr., and their two children, Tanya J. Patterson, of Barre, and her son Edward R. Patterson II, of Websterville. Carol also leaves her loving sisters, Peggy and husband Russell Locke, of Ryegate, Karen Huntoon and husband Mike of Port Richey, Fla., Ann Pike and friend Lea of N. Providence, R.I., Sandra Blazic of Swansea S.C., and Jeanette Spence and husband Jim of Vandalia, Ill. One brother Michael Santaw and wife Cheryl of Southington, Conn. One aunt, Beverely Shaw of Burlington, and several nieces and nephews, cousins. Carol was predeceased in 1964 by her father, William "Bill" Santaw, her brother Billy Santaw, of Newbury, in 1976, and recently in February 2007, by her beloved mother, Marjorie "Ruth" Santaw of Ryegate. Carol was an avid reader, and had a real knack (passed on to her from her mom) of raising the largest, healthiest African violets. Carol was a super baker, and her speciality was filled cookies. Carol was also an avid knitter and many hats, mittens, socks and sweaters were worn over the years by many. Carol worked up until her recent illness as front end supervisor at Price Chopper in Barre. She will be greatly missed by all. Carol was looking forward to and anticipating her husband's retirement in the summer. , age 86, passed away on Friday, April 4, at the Littleton Regional Hospital. Norman was born on Nov. 1, 1921, a son to Willard and Edith (Snyer) Davis, in Pittsburg, Pa. Norman served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a self-employed master electrician and a member of the Lancaster V.F.W. He was an avid fisherman and loving father. Surviving family members include his loving wife, Anne Davis of Dalton, N.H., his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. , 90, of Heywood Avenue, West Springfield, Mass., died Sunday, April 13, 2008, in Mt. St. Vincent Nursing Home. She was born in 1917 in Springfield, grew up in Springfield and West Springfield, was a 1935 graduate of Cathedral High School and lived in Natick, Mass., Lakewood, Ohio, and White Plains, N.Y., before returning to West Springfield in 1961. She was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Parish in West Springfield and St. Michael's Cathedral in Springfield. Barbara served as a Town Meeting Member for Precinct One for over 40 years and was a founding member of the Precinct One & Two Neighborhood Committee. The Committee designated their annual award, "The Barbara Curran Award" given to a business whose appearance and operation enhanced Precincts One & Two. She also was a member of the Exposition Area Deadline Gang, receiving their "Hall of Fame Award," the Daughters of Columbus Lodge #44, and the Precinct One Crime Watch. She was an avid golfer, bowler, Red Sox Fan, gardener and birdwatcher. Her husband of 46 years John W. Curran died in 1985 and her daughter Eleanor Fitzgerald died in 1997. She leaves two daughters Carolyn C. Nolan and her husband Jack of Wheelock, Vt., and Kathleen O. Curran of West Springfield. She also leaves nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, Maura B. Nolan and her husband C. Daniel Blanton of Albany, Calif.; Kathleen S. Dale and her husband Darren and children Siobhan, McKenna, Kaleigh and Hunter of Christchurch, New Zealand; John P. Nolan and wife Ann of Bow, N.H.; Timothy C. Nolan and wife Kim of Lyndonville, Vt.; Daniel C. Nolan of Newport, Vt.; Joseph B. Fitzgerald and his wife Nancy and children Shannon and Ryan of West Roxbury, Mass.; Lt. Col. Michael F. Fitzgerald and his wife Donna and children Thomas, David and John of Shawnee, Kan.; Rosemary C. Saeed and her husband Muhammad and children Jaansher and Maia of Malden, Mass.; and Mark W. Fitzgerald and his wife Sylvia and their daughter Claudia of Milford, Mass. , 86, formerly of Windsor, passed away Friday, April 11, 2008, at the Alice Peck Day Extended Care Facility in Lebanon, N.H., where she had resided for the past five years. She was born Sept. 22, 1921, in Windsor, Vt., daughter of Charles and Bessie (Hurd) Stearns. She attended schools in Windsor. She married Philip U. Peters in Windsor on Feb. 19, 1944, and they lived in Windsor all of their married lives. Mrs. Peters volunteered at the Veterans Administration Hospital in White River Junction, Vt., for over 15 years. She was a member of the Rachel S. Harlow United Methodist Church in Windsor. She was also a member of the World War Mothers in Windsor, the Ladies VFW Auxiliary 2571 in White River Junction, and a former member of American Legion Auxiliary in Windsor. Margaret enjoyed music, bowling, fishing, children and her family. She was predeceased by her husband in 1988 and by two brothers, Charles and Howard Stearns, and two sisters, Arlene Purvee and Elizabeth Sawtelle. Surviving family members include one daughter, Mary Jane Thibodeau of West Lebanon, N.H., one son, Ralph Peters of Williamstown, Vt., six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was born in Lyndonville, Vt., Oct. 12, 1925, the daughter of Raymond L. and Mary C. (Nichols) Jenne. Kitty attended Lyndon Institute in Lyndonville and Gaithersburg High School in Gaithersburg, Md. She was employed as a realtor in Montgomery County, Maryland, for over 20 years. In 1988 she and her husband Frederick L. "Buddy" Wilkerson retired to Vermont. She is survived by her husband of 62 years: Frederick L. Wilkerson Sr. of Lyndonville; and five children: Frederick L. Wilkerson Jr. and wife Peggy of New York, Phillip E. Wilkerson and his companion Mary Oldenburg of Bridgewater, Vt.; James R. Wilkerson and wife Ho Ts'ui-p'ing of Taiwan, Priscilla S. Czapko and her companion Kenneth Ward of Maryland, Victor A. Wilkerson and wife Kristi of Oregon, and Colleen Wilkerson of Maryland, widow of Walter S. Wilkerson; nine grandchildren: Leeann and husband Craig Wiess, Derick, and Troy; Christie; Russell; Zachary and Mary; Jesse and Bailey; and one great-grandson Spencer. Alfred "Cappy" Doty Marlin

, 86, a resident of Weston, Conn., for many years, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2008, surrounded by his loving family in Farmington, Maine, where he had been residing for the past two years with his daughter Elaine and her husband, Jim Nuzzo. He was born Dec. 4, 1921, in Harwinton, Conn., the son of the late Elwood and Florence (Doty) Marlin. He attended grammar school in Harwinton and graduated from Staples High School in Westport, Conn. in 1939. He was a Seabee in World War II, being part of the First Wave on Iwo Jima. After being wounded, he returned to active duty. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion, VFW and earned the Purple Heart. He was post commander of the VFW and belonged to the Order of Masons. He was the youngest Master of the Norfield Grange in Connecticut. He was the first veteran inducted in the Veterans Volunteer Hall of Fame in Connecticut. Every year, he was faithful in selling poppies for Memorial Day and dedicated timeless hours ensuring that veterans received the Bronze Star grave markers and flags. For 50 years, he was a familiar face to many who watched him and his brothers march proudly in the Memorial Day Parade in Easton and Weston. He was a softball player in his younger years and was an avid duckpin bowler. He received the Sportsman Award of the Year in 1978. He was a volunteer fireman for the Town of Weston. He owned and operated Custom Decorating by Marlin. After retirement, he worked for the Weston Board of Education. Marlin is survived by his four daughters, Elaine Nuzzo and her husband, Jim of Farmington, Maine; twins Elizabeth Piper and her husband, Wayne, and their children Gregory and Sarah, of St. Johnsbury; Nanci Nero and her husband, Peter, and their children Nathan and Kazmeira of Franklin, N.Y., and Margaret Marlin of Redding, Conn. He is also survived by his brother, Franklin Marlin and his wife, Joan, of New Fairfield, Conn., as well as several nieces and nephews. Marlin was preceded in death by his wife, Frances E. (Yankus) Marlin; his sister, Florence Rauch; his brothers, Robert Marlin and John Marlin. A funeral service will be celebrated on Friday, April 18, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 285 Lyons Plains Road., Weston, Conn. Interment will follow at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church Cemetery. Family and friends are invited for light refreshments after the burial in the Church Hall. Family and friends may call at the Bouton Funeral Home, 31 West Church Street, Georgetown, Conn., on Thursday, April 17, from 6 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his memory to the charity of one's choice. , formerly of Danville and Barton, passed away April 13, 2008, at the Newport Health Care Center at the age of 82. He was born in Danville, June 16, 1925, the son of Neal W. Sargeant Sr. and Emma (Stocker) Sargeant. Donald left Danville High School early to enroll in the Army Air Force. He served in World War II as a tail-gunner on a B-24 Liberator bomber, flying on 35 missions over France and Germany. He later served four years in the U.S. Air Force. Don worked for years as a maintenance person at National Life in Montpelier, stocker and bagger at the old Zayre's at the mall in St. Johnsbury, as a bagger at the Price Chopper in St. Johnsbury and at C&C/Comstock's Market in Barton. He is survived by two brothers, Neal W. Sargeant, Jr. of Cabot, Theodore Sargeant and wife Joan of Huntington; two sisters, Martha S. Sevigny of Cromwell Conn., Marilyn J. Graham of Texarkana, Ariz.; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Nila Thompson of St. Johnsbury, and Patricia Sargeant when she was four years old. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, May 6, at 2 p.m. at the Danville Green Cemetery. Anyone wishing to attend would be welcome. There will be no visiting hours. , beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2008, in Glover. She was born in Frampton, Quebec, on March 22, 1913. She was one of 11 children. She worked as a nanny in White Plains, N.Y. On Feb. 8, 1939, she married Edward Healy who predeceased her on Nov. 11, 1990. They farmed in St. Malachie, Quebec, Stanstead, Quebec, and Barton, where they lived since 1950. Germaine was a cook at two restaurants in Orleans, she owned and operated the Park Restaurant in Barton, and she also worked for the Barton Dry Cleaners. She did alterations and sewing for many people. Most of all Germaine loved the Lord and she prayed daily for everything and everyone. She shared her faith with everyone she met. She crocheted 12 afghans a year, praying for the person that would receive it with every stitch she made. For years she played bingo weekly and up until recently she played cards with her dear friends nightly. She worshipped at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Barton for the past 58 years. She lived in her home, taking care of all the household tasks until March 27, when she fell. She is survived by her three children: Annie Coffey and her husband Everett of Waterbury, Margaret Melson and her husband Nathaniel of Los Gatos and Nancy Rodgers and her husband James of West Glover; 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, with another one due in June. She leaves her dear friends, Simon, Marielle, Russ, Ann, and Annette. Her 10 siblings, her husband Edward J. Healy and her son Edward E. Healy predeceased her. , 83, of Haverhill, N.H., died April 11, 2008, at Cottage Hospital in Woodsville following an extended illness. He was born in Haverhill, June 18, 1924, a son of Earle R. and Lydia (Sargent) Blake Sr. Earle served in the U.S. Army during World War II with the 90th Airdrome Squadron from 1942 until his discharge in February 1946. He took part in the China-Burma-India campaign. He had been a self-employed carpenter for several years and also worked at Con-Val in Ely, Vt., for Al Britton Hardware and Building Supplies. Earle enjoyed the outdoors, be it hunting or fishing, along with carpentry and tinkering. He enjoyed traveling the Maine coast and staying at York Beach. Most important was his family, who were very special and dear to him. He married Gloria Cassady on Jan. 21, 1946. Surivors include his wife of 62 years, Gloria of Haverhill and a daughter Gloria Root of Haverhill; one granddaughter, Angela Cassady of North Haverhill; and two great grandsons, Zachary T. Mann and Elijah C. Cassady. He was predeceased by his brother Herbert Blake. Private burial in Center Haverhill cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family.

was called home April 10, 2008, at the age of 92. She had just realized her goal of returning from a hospital stay to Rockland Place, her residence for the past seven years. Nan was born in 1916 in Boston, Mass., to the late Edward M. and Elizabeth C. S. Feeley. She graduated with a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin in 1937 where she was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority, and with a B.S. from Simmons College (Boston) in 1938. She worked at Dartmouth College before marrying Henry K. ("Hank") Voigt in 1941 and embarking on their 62 years of married life. They moved several times during and after World War II before settling in New Castle, Del., in 1951. Nan was a dedicated homemaker and did substitute teaching in the New Castle Special School District. Nurturing her love for birds, flowers, and trees was a lifelong pursuit. Nan was a founding member of Hagley Associates and a Hagley Museum volunteer. She and Hank were members of Immanuel-on-the-Green Episcopal Church in New Castle, and later of St. Mary's Anglican Church in Wilmington. Nan devoted many volunteer hours to the Republican Party in Delaware, and to her correspondence with family and friends in many states and literally around the world, from England to Australia. Nan and Hank enjoyed numerous hobbies including travel, family history, and building a retirement log home near Danville, where they attended many a country auction and endlessly explored back roads. Nan thoroughly documented her life and especially her trips to the British Isles, Europe and Australia with diary entries, scrapbooks and albums. She was fascinated with her family heritage, which included New England ancestors who were active in religion and politics in colonial times, and who experienced the French and Indian Wars and the Revolution of 1776. Nan was preceded in death by her husband Hank Voigt, who died in 2004. She will be missed by her four children and their spouses, Karl and Carol Voigt of Newark, Elizabeth ("Cammie") and Michael Cairns of Greenville, Diana and Greg Hayden of Tampa, Fla., and Edward and Karen Voigt of Ephrata, Pa.; and by 12 grandchildren Megan McIntyre and her husband John, Eric Voigt and his wife Lisa, Jason Voigt and his wife Abbe, Lauren Riale and her husband Richard, and Cecily and Adriana Cairns, Matthew, Kevin and Amanda Hayden, and Julie, Caitlin and Erica Voigt. Nan is also survived by eight great-grandchildren Lydia, Madeline, Emma, Ellen, Adam, Griffin, William and Aimee, and by her best friend and sister-in-law, Amy Voigt of Fairfax, Va. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 16, at the Chandler Funeral Home, 2506 Concord Pike, Wilmington, where friends may call at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery at the convenience of the family. , 51, passed away April 12 at his home in Berlin. Born Aug. 1, 1956 in Groton, he was the son of Guy and Doreen (Batchelder) Williams. He attended Groton Elementary and graduated from Blue Mountain Union School in 1976. He served in the U.S. Army for eight years as a heavy equipment operator. He spent several years working on road construction. The last 13 years he worked for the town of East Montpelier. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, boating, and fishing. He is survived by his wife Margaret Williams, of Berlin; his son Anthony Williams, of Barre; his stepchildren Lee Herring of New York, Allen Herring, Keith Herring and Connie Laplant, all of Berlin and Keri Champine of Worcester; his mother Doreen White and sister Gwen Pearl both of Barnet; and his brothers Michael Williams of East Calais and Mark Williams of Braintree. Anthony is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and grand children. He was predeceased by his father in 1962. A service will be held at the Christian-Alliance Church on Berlin Street in Barre at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 17.
