....show , age 68, passed away unexpectedly Thursday April 12, 2007 at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans. He was born in Sheldon August 16, 1938 the son of the late, Floyd & Irene (Jutras) Rivers. Pete was a resident of Enosburg Falls most of his life and was a 1957 graduate of Enosburg Falls High School. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and was employed at Rock Tenn Paper Mill in Sheldon Springs for 44 years where he was operating a fork lift on Thursday when he suffered an apparent heart attack. He also owned and operated Petes VCR Repair from his home for many years. He was an Enosburg Falls Village Trustee from 1988 to 2005 and prior to that he was a Water & Light Commissioner also for the Village of Enosburg Falls from 1986 to 1988. Pete enjoyed NASCAR Racing with his favorite drivers being Dale Earnhardt Jr. and the late Dale Earnhardt Sr.. He also enjoyed listening to country music and going up-street for coffee to visit with his friends. He is survived by his wife, Frances Rivers; his son, Thomas Rivers; his granddaughter Shelby Rivers all of Enosburg Falls; his sister and her husband, Yvonne & Danton Doner of Rocky Hill, CT; several nieces and nephews; his mother-in-law, Audrey Spears of Richford. Besides his parents he was predeceased by 3 sisters, Lucille Rivers, Rita Roarty, and Theresa Maille. In keeping with Petes wishes, he will be cremated and there will be no funeral services. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in St. Isidores Cemetery in Montgomery Center. ....show , age 50, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday April 18, 2007 in Richford. Dale was born in St. Albans September 13, 1956 the middle son of Roy G. Judd and the late Blanche Anna Jean (Johnson) Judd. Dale was employed by Barry Callebault Chocolate Factory in St. Albans. He enjoyed watching NASCAR racing, football (New England Patriots), deer hunting with his brothers, nephews and close friends and walking through the woods. He was veteran of the U.S. Navy. He is survived by a daughter, Lisa Marie Winslow and her husband William Bill, a granddaughter, Abigail Marie Winslow all of Cumberland, VA; his parents, Roy & Ruth Judd of Alburgh; his siblings, Dianne Comstock and her partner Gary Wilson of St. Albans, Deddie Bolio and her husband Arnold of Middlesex, Rodney Judd of Fairfield, Karleen Place of Fairfield, Gary Judd and his wife Leisha, of Franklin, Tammy Cook and her partner Leo Robarge of St. Albans, Dianne Rounds and her husband Ted of Essex Jct., Patti Judd of Richford, Julie King and her husband Wendell of St. Albans, and Michael Mitchell and his wife Caren of Pennsylvania, many nieces, nephews and good friends. Erwin B. Fletcher
....show , age 74, passed away Thursday afternoon April 19, 2007 at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington with his loving family at his side. He was born November 17, 1932 in Richford the son of the late Erwin J. & Glenna (Deuso) Fletcher. Erwin was a life long resident of Richford where he was employed at H.K. Webster / Blue Seal Feeds for 44 years and 9 months, retiring in 1997. He especially enjoyed the years that he drove truck delivering grain to the farms in New York, New Hampshire, and Vermont and the friendships that he made during that time. He was also a U.S. Army Veteran during the Korean War. He was also a member of the Vermont National Guard for many years being honorably discharged with the rank of Master Sergeant. Erwin was very active in the Richford community having served as Town Selectman, School Board Director, Planning Commission Member, Regional Planning Commission Member, and was a long time member of All Saints Catholic Church. Erwin was a member of many groups and associations including the following: American Legion Post # 42 of Enosburg, V.F.W. Post # 758 of St. Albans, Missisquoi Valley Sportsman Club, Vermont Federated Sportsman Club, National Rifle Association, Friends of Missisquoi National Wildlife Federation, and Ducks Unlimited. Erwin was an outdoor enthusiast and enjoyed hunting, fishing, sugaring, trap shooting, boating, old tractors, working in his woods, and camping with his family. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Katherine (Cutting) Fletcher of Richford. They were married February 14, 1953. Three daughters, Carol Fletcher of Richford, Colleen Stanfill and her husband Bill of Colorado Springs, CO, and Joanne Crawford and her husband Sam of Hinesburg, two sons, Alan Erwin Fletcher and his wife Susan, and Byron Fletcher and his wife Jane all of Richford, seven grandchildren, Katy Steurer; Joshua, Seth, Isaiah, and Alyssa Fletcher; Silas & ChandLee Alan Crawford, four brothers and their wives, Norman & Gwen Fletcher of Richford, Dale & Sandy Fletcher of Concord, Randy & Kim Fletcher of Fairfax and North Carolina, and Gary Fletcher of Fairfax, four sisters, Alice Workman of Grand Isle, Judy Williams of Essex, Diane Fletcher of St. Albans, and Debra MacAulay and her husband Denis of Naugatuck, CT, a sister-in-law, Shirley Fletcher of Richford, several nieces and nephews. ....show , age 84, passed away Tuesday evening May 1, 2007 at the Redstone Villa Nursing Home in St. Albans. She was born October 16, 1922 in Franklin the only child of the late Henry Bernie & Beatrice (Tatro) Ploof. Kat married Henry Greenwood on October 28, 1944; he predeceased her on March 9, 1973. After Henrys death Kat spent winters in Florida and summers in Vermont. In 1983 she moved back to Vermont on a full time basis and resided in Swanton until 2005. While living in Franklin she attended St. Marys Catholic Church, and while in Swanton she attended the Church of the Nativity. Kat was a nurturer and loved nothing more than caring for children. She was Nanny to many children in Florida and Vermont. She was very quick witted, you didnt have to guess what she was thinking. She also had many stories to tell. She enjoyed baseball, and in her earlier years would be listening to ball games on the radio while watching another on the television She is survived by a daughter and her husband, Darlene & Richard Cooper of Franklin; a son and his wife, Dale & Hannah Greenwood of DeLeon Springs, FL; 4 grandchildren, Trula Southwick her husband David and their children Coleman A. and Madison Kathleen Southwick of Sheldon, and Teja Cooper of Colchester, Dale Robert Morey and Daniel Morey and their families of New York. She was born in Bakersfield on May 6, 1936 the daughter of the late James H. & Naomi ((Britch) Beyor. Bevolie was a resident of Bakersfield most of her life, moving to St. Albans in 1998 to live with her son, Kevin. She was a member of the Bakersfield Methodist Church and was a 1953 graduate of Brigham Academy. She was employed at M.H. Fishman Co., Teds Sweet Shop, 10 years as a bookkeeper for the Singer Co. in Vermont and Massachusetts, several years for the Bakersfield School District as a hot lunch cook and bus driver and finally worked for 8 years at Verdelle Village Nursing Home in St. Albans retiring in 1988. She was a member of the Bakersfield, East Fairfield prayer & Bible study group since 1991, and the Womens Fellowship Group for many years. Also a member of the Outreach Mission until her illness forced her to stay at home. She is survived by her son, Kevin Martell of St. Albans; Twin grandsons, Robert James Tipper, and James Edward Tipper both of Berkshire; 1 granddaughter, Kristen Lee Hope of St. Albans; 1 great grandson, Gage Michael Genson of St. Albans; 2 brothers, Glendon Beyor of Bakersfield, and Wayne Beyor and his wife Evelyn of Munson, MA.; several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Vicki Marie St. Pierre of Highgate. Lee Andrew Walker
....show , age 18, passed away unexpectedly Friday, May 4, 2007, as the result of a boating accident. Lee was born in Burlington, VT on July 8, 1988, the son of Renee Rita (Gratton) Walker and David Louis Walker. Lee had completed his first year at Paul Smith College in New York, majoring in urban tree management. He was a 2006 graduate of Enosburg Falls High School where excelled in the Forestry Program at Cold Hollow Career Center. Lee was a great athlete, and received many athletic awards in soccer, and game logging. Lee enjoyed many hobbies including hunting, fishing, forestry competitions, and tree climbing. He never shied from hard work, and loved logging and maple sugaring. Lee was a fantastic cook, and could make something delicious out of anything he could find. Lee adored babies and children, which led him to his work as a camp counselor at Camp Holy Cross in Colchester for five years. Lee loved country music, and always rounded up his friends to attend the country music festival which usually occurred on his birthday. One of his favorite songs was Ive Been Watching You by Rodney Atkins. Lee lived his short life to the fullest. He never failed to put others before himself. When he truly believed in something or someone, he never gave up and always gave them 110 percent. Lee strove to be a great example for his step brother, Duncan. Lee was extremely proud of being a Redneck, and you could see that just be looking at his truck. To paraphrase Lees dearest friend Joleen Curtis, which fits for everyone he has left behind, Lee will be sorely missed, and we will love him for all the days of our lives. He is survived by his parents, Renee Huether and her husband Ken of Bakersfield, his father, David Walker, Sr. of Bakersfield, his brother, David Walker Jr. of Bakersfield, his sister, Ashley Walker attending SUNY Plattsburgh, his step brother, Duncan Huether of Jericho & Bakersfield, his paternal grandparents, Joan & Richard Walker of Swanton, his maternal grandmother, Charlotte Gratton of Burlington, and numerous aunts, uncles & cousins. He is also survived by his one true love, Joleen Curtis and her dear family of Bakersfield, whom Lee cared for very much. Lee was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Joseph Gratton. ....show , 69, a resident of East Street in Enosburg Falls died at his home on Wednesday evening, May 9 surrounded by his loving son and family. Melvin was born on March 4, 1938 in St. Albans, the son of Elvin G. and Zoa (Wright) Sweet. He was a lifelong resident of the Enosburg-Bakersfield area. Most of Melvins life was spent as a farmer. He also enjoyed working with horses and his favorite mule Jenny. Melvin was especially fond of the rides he took with his friend Gordon Thompson and their dog Scooter who they enjoyed together. Surviving are Melvins son Elvin L. Sweet and his fiancée, Tonya of Enosburg Falls; his grandchildren Jesse, Leeann, Dylan and Eric Sweet; his brother Edward Sweet and wife Sherry of St. Albans, his sister Doris Wedge and husband Kevin of Addison; brother-in-law Steven Blanchard of Enosburg; sister-in-law Sharlene Sweet of Enosburg; nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends Gordon and Lucius Thompson of Enosburg. ....show , age 67, passed away Wednesday afternoon May 9, 2007 at his home with his loving family at his side. He was born February 14, 1940 in Enosburgh, VT the son of Georgette (Parent) Benoit and the late Rene Benoit. Gille was a resident of Berkshire most of his life where he owned and operated a trucking business for 45 years and was joined in the family business with his son Chris for the past 25 years. Gille was a member of All Saints Catholic Church in Richford, Knights of Columbus Council #2610 earning his 3rd Degree in 1987 and his 4th Degree in 1989 and served as the councils Financial Secretary. Gille was a 37 year member with the Richford Lions Club receiving the Melvin Jones Award in 1993. He served as club president and Secretary since 1975, chaired the Fourth of July auction and Big Ticket Night, served as Dictrict Region Chair and Zone Chair, and helped with the Lions Club Mint Sales. Gille was a member of the Vermont Army National Guard for 11 years receiving an honorable discharge in 1968. He was a 15 year member of the American Legion Post # 12 of Richford. Gille was a volunteer for the Richford Ambulance Service for 15 years ending in 1984. He was also an American Red Cross Blood Donor receiving his 16 Gallon Pin. Of all of Gilles accomplishments his family was most important to him. He loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren going to the movies, fishing, gardening among many other activities. He is survived by his wife, Madeleine (Larose) Benoit of Berkshire. They were married June 26, 1965; his children, Christopher Benoit his wife Kelly and their children, Alexandria & Samuel of Berkshire, Gregory Benoit his fiancé Stephanie and their children, Jacob & Ian of Richford, and Renee Benoit her boyfriend, Dwayne Feeley of Franklin; his mother and her husband, Georgette & Raymond Theriault of Cowansville, Quebec; 1 brother and his wife, Pierre & Betty Benoit of Franklin; 2 sisters and their husbands, Sue & John Selby of Greenville, NC, and Ginette & Donald Pigeon of Fairfax, VT; his brother-in-law, David Larose and his friend Betsy Magee of Essex; his sisters-in-law and their husbands, Joyce & Derrell McCrary of St. Petersburg, FL, Diane & Robert Parent of Sheldon, and Denise & Robert Hand of Pensacola, FL; several nieces & nephews. Karl James "Jim" Gometz
....show , age 67, passed away suddenly at his home on Wednesday morning May 23, 2007. Since February, he has been extremely committed to a healthier life style and had been very successful. His family will be forever grateful and proud of his commitment, but, unfortunately, his workout ended all too soon. He was born August 4, 1939 in Hartford, CT the son of the late Karl & Janice (Orr) Gometz. Jim was a 1957 graduate of Simsbury High School in Simsbury, CT and a 1962 graduate of the University of Connecticut and member of the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity. Upon graduating Jim worked for Agway formerly GLF in Pennsylvania and New York transferring to Vermont in 1968 and after 23 years with Agway he established Mountain Valley Restoration which he owned and operated with his son, Rick. In 1993 he began his employment with Champlain Valley Exposition (CVE) in Essex Junction. Jim was very dedicated to his work at the CVE as the Director of Operations. However, his greatest joy was spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He loved to travel with his wife, and could occasionally be found at a casino or scratching off a ticket or two, which led him to winning a fishing boat that has been greatly enjoyed by his whole family at Fairfield Pond. While there will not be a day he wont be thought about, he will be greatly missed this year at Kanes graduation, and Ricks upcoming wedding. Jim began his military career serving with the U.S. Army from 1962-63 and was a graduate of the Empire State Military Academy at West Point receiving his commission as 2nd Lieutenant serving several years in the New York Army National Guard being honorably discharged with the rank of 1st Lieutenant. Jim was a member of the American Legion Post # 91 of Colchester, the American Society of Agricultural Engineers, and in 2004 became a member of the Vermont State Guard and was promoted to the rank of Full Bird Colonel last Wednesday He is survived by his wife, Ginny (Davis) Gometz of Bakersfield. They were married May 4, 1963. He is also survived by his children, Nancy LaRose and her husband Shawn of Waterville, Karen Ovitt and her husband Brian of Bakersfield, Rick Gometz and his fiancée Carol Gover of Knoxville, TN, and Rollin Miller and his wife Jeeup of Bangkok, Thailand; his grandchildren, Kane & Keith LaRose, Katie & Kyle Ovitt, and Samantha Gover; his mother-in-law, Ruth Davis of Richford. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Lenora Doty. A memorial service will be held Sunday, May 27, 2007 at 1:00 PM at the Bakersfield Congregational Church with Rev. Robert Alphege "Bouch" Boucher
....show , age 77, husband of Therese Boucher, passed away unexpectedly Thursday May 24, 2007 in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Bob was born August 19, 1929 in Chicopee Falls, MA the son of the late Alphege & Cora (Mochon) Boucher. Bob was a resident of Montgomery Center since 1987, where he was very involved in the Montgomery community and was instrumental with starting the Montgomery Center Recreational Center for the after school program. He was also a member of St. Isidores Catholic Church in Montgomery Center. During his years of retirement he enjoyed woodworking. He made beautiful furniture and rocking horses for his grandchildren. He was a former resident of Denville, NJ, and was employed at Chase Bank for 20 years retiring in 1986, as Vice President in charge of Overseas Banking. While living in New Jersey he taught 8th grade Sunday school at St. Marys Catholic Church for 15 years. Bob served with the U.S. Marines for 2 years during the Korean Conflict. Following his honorable discharge he attended Bryant College in Providence, Rhode Island where he received a degree in accounting. He also received an MBA from Western New England College. Bob was a member of the American Legion Post # 12 of Richford, V.F.W. Post # 15047 in Montpelier, and V.F.W. Post 1400 National Head Quarters in Kansas City, MO. He is survived by his wife, Therese (Basilere) Boucher of Montgomery Center. They were married November 26, 1954. He is also survived by his children, Damian Boucher of Hillside, NJ, Mary Landers and her husband Richard of Byrwin, PA, Robert Boucher Jr. of Randolph, NJ, Elizabeth Beth Kreilis and her husband Edvins of Lebanon, NJ, Anne Hoffman and her husband Carl of Stockholm, NJ, and John Boucher and his wife Bernie of Montgomery Center; 11 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Henry Boucher of New York, and Richard Boucher and his wife Judy of Florida; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by 3 brothers, Armand, Bruno & Rene Boucher; 3 sisters, Yvette Mochon, Rita Buchanan, and Bella Tierny. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 31, 2007 at 11:00 at St. Isidores Catholic Church in Montgomery Center with Rev. Frank Eksterwoicz celebrating the Mass of Christian burial. ....show , 59 passed away Monday, June 4, 2007 at The Hospice of Volusia/Flagler in Port Orange, FL. He was born in St. Albans, VT on October 13, 1947 son of the late Henry and Kathleen (Ploof) Greenwood. He graduated from Franklin High School in the class of 1967. He worked for area businesses in Vermont operating heavy equipment until 1974 when he moved to Florida. He continued with construction work until declining health forced him to retire. He is survived by his wife Hannah (Cayen) Greenwood of DeLeon Springs, FL; a sister Darlene Cooper and her husband Richard of Franklin; two nieces, Trula Southwick, her husband David and their children Coleman and Madison of Sheldon; and Teja Cooper of Colchester; two stepsons Dale Robert Morey and Daniel Morey of New York. There will be no visitation. A private graveside service will be held at St. Marys Cemetery in Franklin at the convenience of the family. Miles Knowlton Symons
....show of Enosburg Falls, age 88, passed away Tuesday evening June 5, 2007 surrounded by his family at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans. Miles was born in Bakersfield on March 12, 1919 the son of the late George F. & Annie (Knowlton) Symons. He attended Bakersfield schools, served in the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s, worked for H.P. Hoods Inc. and the Central Vermont Railroad. Miles was inducted into the U.S. Army on October 21, 1942. He served in North Africa and Italy for 28 months, with the Medical Corps as a Surgical Technician and Medical-Aidman attached to the U.S. 5th Army in the Naples-Foggia and Rome-Arno-Campaigns. Miles was honorably discharged December 11, 1945, with the European African, Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbons with two Bronze Stars, and other medals. After Miles discharge he went to work for the F.A. Tucker Inc. of Rutland as an Electrical Lineman. On June 29, 1946 Miles married Ella E. Brosseau of Johnson. Miles worked for the Vermont Electric Cooperative of Johnson for many years as an electrical lineman and electrician. In 1955 Miles & Ella bought a dairy farm in Enosburgh, which they operated with their family until May 1977, then went into the poultry business until 1984. Miles was active in community affairs serving for many years as Tax Collector for the town, school and village. He also served as Constable, Truant Officer, Board of Civil Authority, Justice of the Peace and also other offices and committees. Miles received the Vermont Public Service Award from the Secretary of State Office for his years of community service. Miles was a member of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Enosburg Falls and a Life Member of the American Legion Post 42 in Enosburg Falls. He has been a member of the Legion for over 55 years. Miles was predeceased by a son Gary in 1956 and his wife Ella in 1988 after 42 years of marriage. Miles was the younger of eleven children, all are predeceased; four brothers and six sisters; Lyman, Mary, Estella, William, Harry, George, Ruth, Blanche, Doris and Thelma. Miles is survived by two children Mary Sylvester and her husband Leonard of Enosburgh; Darlene Symons and companion, Dennis Ryan of Fairfield; two grand-sons, Peter Sylvester and wife Anne of Ellenburg Ctr, NY ; Brian and wife Rebecca of Waterford, ME; four great-grand children; Nathan, Matthew, Olivia and Lydia Sylvester, a brother-in-law and sister-in-laws and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 11, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Enosburg Falls with Rev. Benedict Kiely celebrating the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave. Enosburg Falls. Mark was born July 5, 1969 in Burlington the son of Darlene Jewett and Richard Greenwood. Mark was a resident of Sheldon most of his life and was a 1988 graduate of Enosburg Falls High School. Mark had worked as horticulturalist and landscaper for Hamlens Garden Center in Swanton. Mark was a naturalist and loved gardening, animals especially reptiles. He is survived by his children, Joshua, Nathan & Colby; mother, Darlene (Jewett) Fowler of Sheldon; his father, Richard Greenwood and his wife Linda of Berkshire; his brother, Michael Greenwood his wife Donna and their daughter Alyssa all of Voorheesville, NY; his maternal grandmother, Esther (Cross) Jewett of Sheldon; his girlfriend, Jeneen Hughes of Sheldon; special friends, Edward Tongue of Sheldon, Jackie & Ernest Bapp of Enosburg, Philippa Coville of Montgomery Center, Susan Collins of Enosburg, and Carol Greenwood and her children, Kim Barry & Mike Abell all of Bakersfield; several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Arnold Jewett; paternal grandfather, Wilfred Greenwood, and paternal grandmother, Myrtle (Draper) Greenwood. She was born October 7, 1940 in St. Albans the daughter of the late Alfred & Jessie (Dennis) Button. Beverly was a life long resident of St. Albans and worked as a housekeeper in the St. Albans area for many years. She enjoyed BINGO, gambling, crocheting and traveling. Her family was most important to her; she was a second mother to her nieces, nephews and their families. She was also the primary care giver to her mother in her later years. She is survived by her siblings, Joyce McMichael and her husband Al of Sniderville, NY, William Button and his wife, Arthleen of Swanton, Betty DeGraff and her husband Carl of Burlington, Molly Berry and her husband Roger of Enosburg, Richard Button and his wife Alice of Sheldon, James Button and his wife Christine of Enosburg, David Button and his wife Linda of Fairfield, and Larry Button and his wife Mary of Enosburg; a brother-in-law, William Stetson of St. Albans; her many cherished nieces and nephews and their families. ....show , age 82 passed away Thursday morning June 21, 2007 at his home with his loving family at his side. He was born July 26, 1924 in Belvidere, the son of the late William A and Hazel (Potter) Wetherbee. On December 29, 1946 he married Marian Carpenter. They celebrated 60 years together in December 2006. Manley leaves a daughter Ann and her husband Rick Green of Enosburg Falls and their children Amy and her husband Chad Eldridge of Swanton. Tina Larivee and her fiancé Josuha Bell of Temple Terrace, Florida and Brian Green of Enosburg Falls. Great grandchildren, Sydni Anair and Garrett Eldridge Three sons: William (Bill) of Colchester and his children Michael of Detroit, Michigan and Katie of Biddeford, Maine and their mother, Martha of Essex Junction. Robert (Bob) and his wife Dianna of Winter Haven, FL and their children Calista and Emilie of St Petersburg, Florida; Amanda and her husband Pete Schiebel of Winter Haven, Florida. Gary of Montgomery and his step son Ryan Leadbeater of Bozeman, Montana and his mother Doreen Greene of Berkshire Brothers: Cedric (Ted) and his wife Marilyn of Rockledge, FL and Merwyn and his wife Joyce of Colchester, VT Special brothers and sisters-in-law; Carty and Alyda Carpenter and Roy and Linda Carpenter both of Enosburg Falls and George and Doris Carpenter of Lyman, S Carolina. Many loved nieces and nephews Manley graduated from the former Underhill High School in 1942 with his four classmates. During the war years he ran the Wright Farms in Underhill. He and Marian purchased their own dairy farm in East Berkshire while she was teaching 8 grades in a one-room school house. In 1956 they moved to Enosburg Falls where he owned and operated Wetherbee & Leach Farm Supply. He and Marian purchased Shover & Sons and the H P Jones Store and established Wetherbee's Hardware. In 1973 they sold the business to their son Bob, and Manley continued to work in "semi retirement". Manley was a member of Lincoln Lodge #78 and recently received his 60 year pin. He was also a member of the Enosburg Lions Club for over 50 years, and served as King Lion. For his dedication and service, he received the Melvin Jones Award, which is the highest honor given to a Lions Club member. He loved Dairy Day, participating in it from its first year. He would leave his booth covered with cotton candy to help Bill and family make sure BBQ chicken were ready on time. During the winter he was very active in the Winter Haven Lions Club. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Enosburg Falls. Dad loved being around his family and proud of all they were doing. Pontoon boat rides on Lake Carmi, helping with BBQ's and catering events, putting freight away at ACE Hardware and going to grandchildrens soccer games. He loved to visit with people, and you were not a stranger for long. He and Mother spent winters in Winter Haven, Florida and summers in their home in Enosburg Falls and at their camp on Lake Carmi in Franklin. Funeral services will be held Sunday June 24, 2007 at 2:00 PM at the Enosburg Falls United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the West Enosburg Cemetery. ....show , age 94, widow of Arthur E. Weld, passed away Saturday June 23, 2007 at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans. She was born March 13, 1913 in Berkshire the daughter of the late Ernest & Emma (Robideau) Ward. Evelyn was a resident of Berkshire most of her life. She raised her family on the Weld Farm on Route 105 in East Berkshire where she lived for 41 years. She was a member of the Dorcas Society in Berkshire Center and the Ladies Aid Group in East Berkshire. After the passing of her husband in 1986, she moved to Richford. While residing in Richford she served on the Board of Civil Authority and served as a Justice of the Peace. She also attended the Richford 1st Baptist Church. She is survived by 2 daughters and their husbands, Kay & Gary Rice of Windsor, VT, and Colleen & Roger Doyon of Hampstead, NH; 5 grandchildren, James Rice, Jeffrey Rice, Rhonda Rice, Matthew Doyon and his wife LeeAnn, and Leslie Doyon and her fiancé Adam Lefavor; 6 great grandchildren, Eric Rice, Joshua Rice, Jacob Holzwarth, Grace Elizabeth Aldrich, and twins Isabelle & Anabelle Aldrich; 2 step great grandchildren; and many close friends Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a great grandson, Tyler Frederick Rice.
