Mrs. Riff was born in Sisson Ridge, NB, Canada on December 7, 1922 a daughter of Wilmot and Catherine (Rollins) Jones.
Patricia and her late husband Richard W. Riff owned and operated Riffs Flowers Shop, in Lancaster from 1948 until their retirement in 1976. After retirement she worked for Peter W. Powell as a real estate agent.
She was a life member of the White Mountain Riding Club. She enjoyed going to the Lancaster Fair, loved to play Bingo, and traveling to Florida every winter since 1976.
She was a Communicant of the All Saints Church, Lancaster.
She is survived by, her daughter Sharon Riff of Lancaster; five sisters, Lorna Jones and Myrna Reinhardt both of South Portland, ME, Dorothy Scott of Woodstock, NB, Canada, Ruth Kavanaugh and Faye Savage both of Lakeville, NB, Canada; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by, her husband of 37 years, Richard on May 8, 1983, and three brothers, Doug Jones, Maurice Jones, and Gene Jones.

Beatrice Sigouin
....show , 91, of Pond Hill Road, died Tuesday morning, July 3, 2007, at Country Village Genesis Health Care Center, Lancaster.
Mrs. Sigouin was born on December 3, 1915, in Chartierville, Quebec, a daughter of John and Marie Ann (Bissonette) Dupont.
Beatrice was a homemaker, raising her children and working on the family farm. She enjoyed crafts, and entering them in the Lancaster Fair, where she won numerous blue ribbons. Her other interests included gardening, knitting, crocheting, and most recently beading. She was a loving, compassionate, and considerate mother and grandmother.
She was a Communicant of St. Leos Church, Lunenburg.
Family members include a son Roland Sigouin of Lunenburg, three daughters Jeanne Girouard and her husband Rene of Whitefield, Pauline Bilodeau and her husband Leonard of Lunenburg, and Lorette Labbe and her husband Armand of Lunenburg; a brother Leonard Dupont of Jefferson; 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Her husband Armand Sigouin, her daughter in-law Roseanne Sigouin, two brothers, Rosario Dupont and Gerard Dupont, predeceased her.
Visiting hours will be held Thursday afternoon and evening, July 5, from 2-6 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday morning at 11:00 AM, at St. Leos Catholic Church, Lunenburg. Reverend Patrick Foreman, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Lunenburg.
A reception will be held immediately after burial, at the Lunenburg Community Hall.

Asa C. Towle
....show , 80, of Lancaster Road, died Tuesday July 3, 2007, at Bridgton Hospital, Bridgton, Maine.
Mr. Towle was born on February 1, 1926 in Jefferson, a son of Chester C. and Imogene (Reed) Towle.
Asa has resided his entire life in the Jefferson, Lancaster, and Whitefield area. He was a self-employed logger for many years and also worked ten years at Mt. Washington providing carriage rides. His passion in life was competitive horse pulling. He was an avid participant of the horse pulling circuit and was also an active buyer and seller of horses.
Family members include his wife Doreen (Ball) Towle of Whitefield; four children, Clyde Towle of Whitefield, Darlene Towle of Gorham, Ben Towle and his wife Tammy of Randolph, Curt Towle and his wife Beth of Porter, Maine; a brother Emmett E. Towle of Whitefield; two sisters, Jane Savage and her husband William of Lancaster, Molly T. Ball and her husband Donald of Gilman; eight grandchildren, Mandy Perry, Bobby Perry, Luke Thorne, Isaac Perry, Seth Towle, Zachary Towle, David Towle, Tyler Towle; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. A daughter Dianna Towle predeceased him.

Juliet V. Dexter

Juliet was born in Manhattan, NY, on October 13, 1931, the daughter of Frank and Ida (Costtelletti) Scardaccione.
She resided in her youth in New York and has lived in the North Country for approximately 50 years. She was active community volunteer and devoted much of her time to organizations such as the Caleb Group, RSVP, Colonel Town Recreation and facilities including the McKee Inn and Country Village Eldercare. She was a woman of many varied interests and talents, particularly gardening.
Family members include four children, Steven Dexter of Concord, NH, Michael Watson of Conway, NH, Joyce McAllister and her husband Ward of Holbrook, LI, NY, Jamie Watson and his wife Donna of Dover, NH; a sister Gloria S. Hedge of Great River, NY; 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a grandson Jeremy Dexter and her beloved dog Gidget.

Alice M. Menzies
....show , 81, died Friday, July 6, 2007, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon.
Mrs. Menzies was born in Sharon, Vermont on July 5, 1926 a daughter of Fred H. and Hazel B. (Charest) Dyer.
Alice was a 1944 graduate of Keene High School, where she was a Majorette in the marching band. She was a resident of Hopkinton for 44 years, and worked in Concord at New Hampshire Savings Bank as a loan officer, retiring 1984. After retirement she moved to Guildhall, VT.
She was great lover of animals of all kinds and had a special place in heart for her cats. She had a gift for nurturing wild baby animals. In earlier years she loved sailing and camping with her family.
Alice was a gentle person, who always thought of others before herself. Family meant everything to her, and she was especially proud of her grandchildren.
She was a past Vice President of the Republican Womens Club, a member of the Eastern Star, and the founding Den Mother of the Hopkinton Cub Scout Pack #77.
Family members include her husband Leslie B. Menzies of Guildhall; a son Douglas B. Menzies and his wife Rose of Groveton; a daughter Patricia M. Guay and her husband Stephen of Hopkinton, NH; a step-daughter, Shirley A. Stemska and her husband Edward of Goffstown, a sister, Carol Trudell and her husband Gordon of Marlborough, NH, 8 grandchildren, Heather Clark, Abigail Murray, Jennifer Fortier, Aaron Guay, Eric Guay, Autumn Menzies, Jay Stemska, and Robert Stemska, 8 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Marie Faith Kent
....show , 92, formerly of Bunker Hill Street, died Tuesday evening, July 17, 2007, at Country Village Genesis Health Care Center, Lancaster.
She was born in Lancaster, on December 11, 1914, a daughter of Henry Percy and Marie Elene*(Gagnon) Kent.
Faith was a lifetime resident of Lancaster, she attended Lancaster Academy and Lasell Seminary in Auburndale, MA. She was first employed in the Lancaster Savings Band and Trust Company and from May of 1951 to December of 1984 in the Lancaster National Bank where she worked for more than 33 years. She also worked in the office of the Headmaster of Lancaster Schools and was a part-time assistant in the Weeks memorial Library where she was the Childrens Librarian. Know as the local town historian, she was a great source of information for many people.
She was a charter member of the Lancaster Historical Society and was also a member of several other historical and genealogical societies, being interested in and collecting family histories of the early settlers and residents of the Upper Connecticut Valley.
Family members include a sister, Julia Kent McCabe of Littleton and four nieces and nephews; seven grand nieces and nephews; two great-grand nieces and one great-grand nephew. She was predeceased by, a brother David H. Kent of Littleton.

Katherenne E. Kay Bean
....show , 74, of Jefferson Ave., died Friday morning July 27, 2007, at the Country Village Genesis Eldercare Center, Lancaster.
Mrs. Bean was born in Stannard, VT, on December 16, 1932, the daughter of Adolphus and Gertrude (Colbeth) Gonyaw.
Raised in the Greensboro, VT, she moved to the Lunenburg in her teens and then to Gilman in the early 70s. For a time she worked at the Gilman Paper Mill, was an area Avon representative, and installed wallpaper as a side occupation. For many years she was employed at MKF manufacturing in Whitefield where she worked as a stitcher.
Kay enjoyed the outdoors and loved to go camping and fishing. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, and visiting many of the area senior centers.
She was a member of the Lunenburg Methodist Church.
Family members include a son David Bean of Wasilla, Alaska; two daughters, Donna Whiting of Lunenburg, Dina Gunnip of Gilman; a brother Randolph Gonyaw Sr. of Websterville, VT; a sisters Evangeline Honey Thompson of Milo, Maine; two close cousins, Forrest Degreenia and Margaret Smith; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a daughter Debbie Knudson; her husband Wayne E. Bean; and a brother Roger Gonyaw.

John W. "Jack" Ayer Jr.

Mr. Ayer was born in Somerville, MA on October 3, 1936, a son of John W. Ayer Sr. and Cassanna (Frost) Willey.
John was raised in Massachusetts and summered in Jefferson, which eventually became his permanent residence. For a time he worked in the woods and construction, most of his life he was a truck driver working for himself and Wausau Carriers from where he retired.
Family members include his wife Marilyn G. (Fraser) Ayer of Jefferson, a son John W. Ayer III and his wife Sue of Hudson, three daughters, Nancy Ayer of Hudson, Debra Sonnenburg and her husband Charles of Knob Noster, MO, and Cassanna ONeal and her husband John of Westland, MI; one brother, Mike Willey of Brattleboro; VT; two sisters Mae Holden of Salisbury, Clara Whitney of Alaska ; and eight grandchildren.

Gerald "Jerry" A. Berry
....show , 47, of Mt. Prospect Road, died Friday August 3, at his home in the arms of his loving wife and son, after a long battle with cancer.
Mr. Berry was born in Rochester, NH on July 26, 1960, the son of Thomas A Berry Jr. and Monique (Daigle) Berry.
Raised in Rollinsford he attended schools in Somersworth and was a 1978 graduate of Somersworth High School. In 1980 he became a full time police officer with the Rollinsford Police Department and was also a volunteer fireman with the Rollinsford Fire Department. In 1985 he became a New Hampshire State Trooper and was assigned to Coos County. He spent many years on the Motorcycle Unit and was the present State Commander. He also became an active member of the Lancaster Fire Department and was presently assistant chief. He was also active with the Boy Scouts and was the present Scoutmaster for Troop 219.
Motorcycling was a big part of Jerrys life and he enjoyed spending time with his family. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his son hunting, fishing, and scuba diving.
Family members include his mother Monique of Rollinsford, NH, his wife Teresa H. (Malloy) Berry of Lancaster, his son Daniel G. Berry of Lancaster, a brother Paul Berry and his wife Marsha of New Durham, NH and a sister, Sandra McCleary and her husband Jim of Rollinsford, NH; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by, his father Thomas A. Berry Jr.

Mrs. Tierney was born on December 22, 1945, in Quebec, Canada, a daughter of Nelson and Cora (Hooker) Ward.
Dayr attended elementary school in Colebrook and was a graduate of Berlin High School. After graduation she moved to Whitefield, where she has been a resident for over forty years. She was known for her years of service as a waitress at Grandmas Kitchen, and also a chambermaid at the Mountain View Hotel. She was known for her baking skills, they were above all others.
She is survived by, her husband, William Mike Tierney of Whitefield, a son Raymond Clement and his wife Rema of Lancaster, three daughters, Kim Baillargeon and her companion Steve Vashaw of Mt. Vernon, Maine, Keri Clement of Whitefield, and Kami Ferrel and her husband Jeff of Spring Hill, FL, and nine grandchildren. She was predeceased by, her first husband Raymond Clement and a brother Derek Ward.
Visiting hours will be private. A funeral service will be held Monday afternoon, August 20, 2007 at 1:00 PM at the Christ United Methodist Church, Lancaster. Reverend Dr. Thomas W. Mrs. Hutchinson was born in Lancaster, NH, on September 24, 1922, the daughter of Fred and Angie (Berry) Carter.
Blanche was raised in East Lancaster where as a young girl she enjoyed working on the farm with her father. Most of her life she has resided in Groveton having worked for a brief time at the Groveton Paper Mill. Most of her life she was a devoted homemaker who loved spending time with her family and telling stories about her grandchildren. She also liked flowers, gardening, and seeing people enjoy life.
Family members include a son Donald Hutchinson of Groveton; four daughters, Sandra Gonyer and husband Tom of Groveton, Ann Goulet and husband (David) of Stark, Trudy Leclere of Hampton, NH, Ruth Mills and husband Mike of Stark; a daughter-in-law Cathy (Hutchinson) Bishop of Lancaster; 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by, her husband Warren Hutchinson; a son Richard Hutchinson; two brothers, Richard Carter, Sydney Carter; two sisters, Ella Carter Bishop, Ethel Carter Hodge; a grandson Alex Brooks; and a daughter-in-law Evelyn Hutchinson.

Noel J. "Duke" Benoit Jr.
....show , 77, died Monday August 20, 2007 at St. Johnsbury Health and Rehab, after a long battle with Mesothelioma for several months.
Mr. Benoit was born in North Stratford, NH on May 11, 1930, the eldest son of Noel J. Benoit Sr. and Rosa E. (Beauchemin) Benoit, who both predeceased him.
Duke was a long time resident of Victory, VT, moving back to Lunenburg to his childhood home in 1999. Known throughout the area as "Duke the plumber", he enjoyed his years of retirement.
He is survived by, his son Noel J. Benoit III of Las Vegas, Nevada; four daughters, Cindy P. Brown of Lunenburg, JoAnne H. Gilman of Lyndonville, Sally J. Young of East Concord, VT and Bonnie A. Jones of Ocala, FL; five grandchildren, Brian, Aaron, Angel, Kelly, and Shawn; 4 great grandchildren; 4 brothers, Edwin Benoit and Reginald Benoit both of Lunenburg, Alphonse Benoit of San Antonio, TX, and Lawrence Benoit of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; two sisters Yvonne Boucher and Pearl Willey both of Lancaster; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Eugene, John, and Theodore Benoit all of Lunenburg.

Eudore Frenchie J. Pelletier
....show , 87, formally of Riverside Avenue, died Wednesday afternoon September 5, 2007, at the Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital, Colebrook.
Mr. Pelletier was born in New Brunswick, Canada, on April 8, 1920, the son of Florient and Catherine (Dumas) Pelletier.
Frenchie, also known to some as Eddie, was raised in Lewiston, Maine and served in the US Army during WWII. For approximately 40 years he resided of Gilman and worked at the Gilman Paper Mill for 25 years. After leaving Gilman he briefly lived in Bethlehem and Groveton, for the past 3 years he has been a resident of the Coos County Nursing Hospital in West Stewartstown.
Family members include his wife of over 50 years Glenna (Merritt) Pelletier of West Stewartstown; a son David Pelletier of Bethlehem; three daughters, Judy Sterling of Merrimack, NH, Cheri Mire of Lancaster, Kathy Lovell of Columbia; 9 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

Herbert Edward Howland
....show , 66, of River Road, died Friday evening September 7, 2007 in Lunenburg, as a result of an ATV accident.
Mr. Howland was born in Gilman on August 28, 1941, the son of Abner Herbert and Ellen (Greeley) Howland.
He was a lifetime resident of Gilman working on farms in his youth including the Mosher Farm in Lunenburg. For a time he was also employed at the Atlas Foundry in Concord, VT, and the Colby Sawmill, Lunenburg.
Herbert loved to hunt, fish, and go four-wheeling. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and was known for living his life his way.
Family members include two sisters, Grace Gunnip of Brattleboro, Mary E. Ball of Lancaster; many nieces and nephews including great and great-great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; two sons, Richard A. Howland and Edward H. Howland; a sister Alyce D. Brown; and two brother-in-laws Frederick Brown and Lucius Ball.
There are no visiting hours. A celebration of his life will be held at the home of his niece Florence Brown at 2382 River Road, Gilman, on Saturday September 22, starting at 12:00 PM. Burial will be held at a later date in Riverside Cemetery, S. Lunenburg.
The family has requested that donations be sent to the Bailey Funeral Home, 210 Main Street, Lancaster, NH 03584 to help defray funeral expenses.

Cleo Wilson Boudle
....show , 85, passed away September 8, 2007, after a long battle with cancer, under his daughter Sandra Delvillars care.
Mr. Boudle was born in Stratford on September 30, 1921, a son of Irving and Lilla (Masters) Boudle.
Cleo enlisted in the Army in 1942 in the Glider program, which ended in 1943. He then became a machinist and remained in the Army until 1945. He was in the 89th Squadron, 3rd Bomb Group, and the 5th Air Force. He served in Mindoro, Philippines, New Guinea, Palu Island, Okinawa, Japan, and was stationed at the Atsubi Air Base in Japan. After being discharged from the army, he finished his schooling and graduated from the Lancaster Academy in June of 1947. He continued his trade as a machinist at Pratt & Whitney in West Hartford, CT. After retiring, he resided in Warren, ME. Where he became an expert at gardening. Whatever he had left from his garden after delivering his vegetables to family members, he would give to those in need.
His interests included airplanes, music, and gardening. He once made an exact replica of an A-20 airplane from WWII, which was displayed at Weeks Memorial Library in Lancaster. He once gave guitar lessons to a young man that was on T.V. and the radio.
He leaves behind his wife, Bernice (Gray) Boudle of, Tolland, CT, where he built his home. He also leaves behind eleven children, seventeen grandchildren, and 27 great grand children. A sister Gladys Ingerson of Jefferson, and a brother Henry Boudle of West Burke, VT they are the only two surviving siblings.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 105, Warren, Maine.
Visiting hours will be held Wednesday evening, September 12, from 5-8 PM, at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A funeral service will be held Thursday morning at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Reverend James Michaels, pastor at the Lancaster Assembly of God will officiate. Following the service he will be laid to rest in Summer Street Cemetery, Lancaster.

Ronald E. Stinson
....show , 68, of Water Street, died Thursday afternoon September 20, 2007, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon.
Mr. Stinson was born in Littleton on February 9, 1939, a son of Leslie and Ravona (Nurse) Stinson.
Ronald served in the U.S. Navy; he was a Naval Sea Bee, who served his country with pride. He worked as a machinist for Mardon Industries, Lyndon, for several years. After retirement he was a volunteer driver for North Country Care, assisting people to appointments and with his kind-hearted devotion he would sit and wait for them.
He was a member of the American Legion Post #68, Littleton.
Family members include his wife, Connie (Thibodeau) Stinson of Lancaster, a son Mark Beynon of Lunenburg, VT and a granddaughter Kelsie B. Ray of Bethlehem, a brother Raymond Stinson of Washington State.

Clarence Dudley Mouse Brown
....show , 75, of Highland Street, died Tuesday October 9, 2007, at his residence at McIntyre School apartments.
Mr. Brown was born in Berlin, on December 19, 1931, a son of Elwin and Lyndall Viola (Call) Brown.
Clarence resided in Lancaster for many years. He was a truck driver by trade and loved traveling. He enjoyed being outdoors picking blueberries, other wild fruits, flowers, and was and avid hunter and fisherman. In the early 50s he served as a corporal in the US Army and was a soldier of Battery B 210th AA Gun Battalion 90mm.
Family members include a his children Clarence Brown Jr. Debbie Reyes of Waco, TX, Casey J. Brown, Viola and Shawnee Brown, Samuel Brown; three step-children, Donna, Russell and Milton Ford; one sister, Edith Chessman of Lancaster and a brother William Brown also of Lancaster and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter Marina Jean in 1984 and an infant daughter Violet Brown; a brother Elwin John Brown; two sisters, Winona Couturier and Lillian Brown.
There are no visiting hours. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Henryetta (Connary) Kay
....show , 94, passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2007 at the Country Village Nursing Home. She was born in Stratford Hallow, NH on July 6, 1913 to Harland and Hattie (Stone) Connary. She graduated from Lancaster Academy in 1931. She also is a graduate of North Hampton Business School, North Hampton, MA.
In high school she was the Editor-in-Chief of the Lancastrian bi-monthly publication.
She also worked summers for the Weeks family at their Mt. Prospect mansion and at Martin Meadow Pond. She was employed by the Lancaster Court House and the Coos Country Democrat. She also worked as an Executive Secretary for the Division 1 State Highway Department Headquarters in Lancaster. She was the former president of the regional chapter of the Business and Professional Women (BPW).
During retirement she spent her winters in Avon Park, FL. Her life revolved around her children and grandchildren. She was active with the St. Pauls Episcopal Church. She also was an avid Red Sox fan and faithfully cheered them on, no matter how they did.
Mrs. Kay is predeceased by her daughter Patricia (Kay) Rusboldt. She is survived by her twin sons Richard Kay of Nottingham, NH and Ronald and his wife Ruth Kay of Maynard, MA, son-in-law Edward Rusboldt of La Mesa, CA, grandchildren Tom Rusboldt of La Mesa, CA, Tina Rusboldt of Los Angeles, CA, Abigail Kay of Allston, MA, and Rebecca Kay of Somerville, MA. She was the sister of Harriet Allin of Lancaster and the late Harlene Wilkerson, Merlin, Mervin, and Mason Connary. She also had 3 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Saint Pauls Episcopal Church, Lancaster, NH on Sunday, October 28, 2007 at 2:00 PM. A luncheon will be served in the churchs Fellowship Hall following the service. The burial will be private

Grayce B. Smith
....show , passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2007, at the age of 86 at Country Village Health Care Center following a period of declining health.
Born March 27, 1921, in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Carl C. and Beatrice M. (Murphy) Bennett.
Grayce was a member of the Lancaster Academy graduating class of 1939 and the Concord College of Business of 1941. In July of 1948 she married Glenn Babe Smith of Lancaster, who predeceased her in 1997. She was also predeceased by a son, Richard B. smith in 1976.
She worked for many years as a bookkeeper and secretary and also assisted her husband with his bowling leagues and the daily operation of the Lancaster Bowling Alley. She will be remembered fondly for her hospitality and exceptional culinary skills.
She was a Communicant of All Saints Catholic Church, Lancaster.
Surviving family members include a cousin, Mrs. Shirley Bowles, of Nashua, NH, and several friends and neighbors.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, October 22, at 10:00 AM at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A funeral mass will be celebrated at All Saints Church, Lancaster at 11:30 AM following the visiting hours. Burial will follow in Summer Street Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Babe Smith Skating Rink Fund through the Lancaster National Bank or to the Lancaster Historical Society for the beautification of the grounds.

Lindwood P. Gray Sr.
....show , 63, of Powder Hill Drive, died at home Saturday morning October 20, 2007, after a long illness.
Mr. Gray was born in Lancaster on February 4, 1944, the son of Aubrey and Geraldine (Eastman) Gray.
Linwood was a lifetime resident of the North Country. In his early years he started out working in the woods and on his brothers farm. For a time he had a rubbish route with his father and brother and was also employed at the mill in North Stratford. Before he was forced to retire due to his health he was employed as a janitor for the old Lancaster Elementary School and Weeks Memorial Hospital.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking, and collecting bears and racing memorabilia. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially children.
Family members include his wife Mary Lou (Dorr) Gray of Lancaster; two sons, Linwood P. Gray Jr. of Stark, Lawrence R. Gray of N. Stratford; a daughter Lori Champagne of N. Stratford; two brothers Robert Gray of Whitefield, Bruce Gray of Meredith; two sisters Muriel Tillson of Claremont and Conway, South Carolina, Irene Anderson of Clintonville, Wisconsin; an uncle Aloysius Eastman of Lancaster; a close cousin Bonnie Libby of Lancaster; five grandchildren, Richard, Shahonia, Anastasia, Sierra, Marion; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; a grandson Andre Michael-Paul Champagne; and a brother Frank Gray.
There are no visiting hours. A memorial service will be held Friday morning, October 26, at 11:00, at the Bailey Funeral Home in Lancaster.

Alice S. Pearse
....show , 89, died October 24, 2007, at Weeks Medical Center, Lancaster, after a long illness.
Mrs. Pearse was born in Peabody, Massachusetts on August 17, 1918, a daughter of Peter and Helen (Pasternak) Shevchuk.
Alice first moved to Jefferson from Peabody, MA with her son in 1951 and resided at the McCabe Estate that was owned by her father. She worked and later managed Dorothys Specialists Dress Shop in Lancaster. She returned to Peabody to work seasonally for her former employer Connolly Bank Specialists where she was a Junior CPA during World War II. Active in NH politics she campaigned for Perkins Bass and many other area politicians. She was also a bookkeeper for the Waumbeck Festivals in Jefferson and a volunteer for the White Mountain National Forest.
She was a member of St. Pauls Episcopal, Gorham Womens Club, and Jefferson Adult Citizens.
Family members include her son Harry Pearse and his wife Christiane of Hingham, MA, two sisters; Doris Yaskell of Peabody, MA and Catherine Eckhardt of Iowa City, Iowa; two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
At Alices request there are no calling hours. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday afternoon, October 30, 2007 at 1:00 PM, at St. Pauls Episcopal Church, Lancaster. Reverend John Jackson and Reverend David Rose, pastor at St. Pauls Church will co-officiate.

Lori L. Bragdon
....show , 45, of Fellows Road, died Wednesday October 31, 2007 in Saint Johnsbury, VT.
Mrs. Bragdon was born in Brunswick, Maine a daughter of Reginald and Judith (Sloat) Thompson.
Lori was a 1981 graduate of Freeport High School and that same year she married her husband Alfred D. Bragdon. Alfred enlisted in the US Navy and as she followed his career they resided in many part of the country including Groton, CT, San Diego, CA, Mississippi, Virginia, New Jersey, and Rhode Island. After Alfred retired from the military they made their home in Guildhall, VT seven years ago.
For a time she worked locally as a Para educator in the Concord Schools, Gilman Middle School, Lancaster Elementary, Guildhall Elementary, Lunenburg Elementary, and White Mountain Regional High School.
She enjoyed her home where she maintained the property, raised animals and tended her flower and vegetable gardens. She loved children immensely, particularly her special granddaughters and many nieces and nephews.
Family members include her husband Alfred D. Bragdon Sr. of Guildhall; her son Alfred D. Bragdon Jr. and his wife Christina; her daughter Sarah Bragdon of Guildhall; her two granddaughters Ebony Bragdon and Kaysia Bragdon; her parents Reginald and Judith Thompson of Freeport, ME; four brothers Michael Kerry Thompson of Lisbon, ME, Dale Thompson of Topsham, ME, Kirk Thompson of Maine, Chris Thompson of South Portland, ME; 27 nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews.
There are no visiting hours. A memorial service will be held Tuesday afternoon November 6, at 2:00 PM at the Guildhall Community Church, Guildhall, VT. Rev. Alta Chase of Stratford will officiate.
