Christine L. Cass
....show , 83, formerly of Hillside Ave., died suddenly Saturday morning, April 7, 2007, at Weeks Medical Center, Lancaster. She had been a resident of Country Village Genesis Eldercare since October of 2006.
Mrs. Cass was born in Lancaster on February 10, 1924, the daughter of William and Jennie (Moses) Sheltry.
Christine was raised in the Maidstone and Stratford area and was a graduate of Stratford High School. She married Thomas J. Cass and they moved to Groveton in 1947 where they raised their family and continued to reside throughout their lifetime. In 1965 she started working for Campbell Stationary in both the Northumberland and later Stratford locations. She retired in the early 1980s. Christine loved to cook, raise flowers, and she enjoyed music, often rocking and singing her favorite songs.
Family members include two daughters, Carol Ballard of Lancaster, Marilyn Hand of Groveton; six grandchildren, Stephen Pelletier, Jeremy Hand Jamie Hand, Kristine Ballard, Erica Cass, Kristien Boschen; and seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Tom and a son Steve Cass.
At Christines request there are no calling hours. A graveside service will be held at later date at the convenience of the family in the Northumberland Cemetery.

Judy M. Potter
....show , 48, of Melcher Court, died Sunday evening April 8, 2007, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon.
Miss Potter was born in Lancaster on July 31, 1958, the daughter of James and Edna (Potter) Crandall.
Judy resided for a time in Massachusetts, returning to the North Country in the mid 1980s. She loved animals, especially her cat Jeffrey.
Family members include her mother Edna of Groveton; several aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was predeceased by, her father James Crandall.
There are no calling hours. A graveside service will be held in the Northumberland Cemetery at a later date.

John E. Lane Sr.
....show , 83, of Bunker Hill Street, died Monday April 16, 2007, at Weeks Medical Center, Lancaster.
Mr. Lane was born in Colebrook on July 25, 1923, the son of Robert and Goldie (Johnson) Lane.
Raised in Maine he was a graduate of Standish High School. During WWII he served with the US Army Air Corps in the South Pacific. Returning home he was employed 44 years with New England Telephone as a construction supervisor. He has resided in Lancaster since 1965.
John was a member of St. Pauls Episcopal Church, Lancaster, and life member of the American Legion, VFW, and the Telephone Pioneers.
Family members include his wife of 59 years, Ona (Bond) Lane of Lancaster; a son John E. Lane Jr. and is wife Lori of Lancaster; two daughters, Judy B. Covell and her husband Earle of Alton Bay, NH, Rita Ellen Lane of Westbrook, ME; three sisters, Roberta Lane, Georgia Wilson, and Shirley Lord, all of Steep Falls, Maine; and three grandchildren, Hilary Henry, Conner Lane, and Keelin Lane.
At John Sr.s request there are no visiting hours. A graveside service with military honors will be held at a later date in the Canaan Village Cemetery, Canaan, VT.

Raymond N. Crane
....show , 101, of Garland Road, died Wednesday
morning April 25, 2007 at Weeks Medical Center, Lancaster, NH.
Mr. Crane was born in Elizabeth, NJ, on April 24, 1906, the son of Charles
and Sophia (Paterson) Crane. Raised in Elizabeth, Raymond attended schools
there and went on to become a licensed electrician.
For a time he owned an operated Mayfair Music in Bradley Beach, NJ, and
later worked as an inspector for Bendix Corp in Eatontown, NJ. For many
years he was a court officer for the Monmouth County Sheriffs office. He
took mandatory retirement there at the age of 70.
Active in community emergency services, Raymond was a life member of the
Ocean Grove First Aid Squad and Eagle Hook and Ladder Fire Company and also
served as past president, treasurer, and secretary of this company. He was
also a member of the Ocean Grove Fire Police in New Jersey.
Raymond was a 32 Degree Mason and member of the Ocean Lodge #89 in Spring
Lake, NJ. He was raised as a Master Mason in 1948. He was also an honorary
member of the North Star Masonic Lodge #8 in Lancaster, NH.
He served in the New Jersey National Guard and was a member of the
S.P.E.B.S.O.S.A., Chorus of the Atlantic Barbershop Chorus. Raymond has
resided in Lancaster since 1989 and was presently the holder of the Boston
Post Cane.
Family members include a son and daughter-in-law Ronald and Virginia Crane of
Lancaster; four grandchildren, Sharon Langenes, Christine Crane, Richard
Crane, Eric Crane; and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his
wife Ruth E. (Johnson) Crane; three brothers and one sister.
Memorial visiting hours will be held Friday evening April 27, from 6:00 to
8:00 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A Masonic service will be
held during visiting hours at 7:00 PM. Burial will be held at a later date
in Monmouth Memorial Park, Neptune, NJ.

George T. Graber
....show , 85, of Bobbin Mill Road, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 27, at Weeks Medical Center, following a period of failing health.
Mr. Graber was born on March 2, 1922, in Montvale, New Jersey the son of John M. and Marie E. (Day) Graber.
George moved to the North Country in the early 1940s and was married to Cora "Jeanne" Graber for over 37 years. He served in the United States Navy during WWII and saw action in the South Pacific. He was honorably discharged and returned home to Lancaster.
He worked for the former Eastern Breeders Association for over 25 years before becoming a licensing officer for the New Hampshire Department of Safety. He retired to Lunenburg, VT in 1986.
George loved to fly and could often be seen in the skies over the North Country. He flew for more than 60 years; logging more than 16,000 hours, piloting his last flight at the age of 80.He also loved nature and the study of local wildlife. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trapping.
He was a member of John W. Weeks VFW post #3041, Lancaster, and the Fredonwarell Post # 17, American Legion, Groveton.
He will be deeply missed by family and friends.
He is survived by, his wife Jeanne, a son G. Thomas and his wife Laurie Graber of Palmdale, CA, a daughter Katrina "Tina" and her husband Perley Whipple of Bethlehem, three step-sons Don and his wife Suzan Tibbetts of Blythe, CA, Paul and his wife Loretta Howell of Peabody, MA and Ed and his wife Erin Howell of St. Paul, MN, a step-daughter Nancy and her husband Charles Goldman of Haverhill, MA a sister in-law, Lorraine Graber and a niece Patricia and her husband George Gulley all of Naples, FL. 17 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by, a brother John P. Graber and a nephew John "Jack" Graber.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday May 19, 2007 at 11:00 AM, at the Lancaster Congregational Church, Reverend Virginia Alvarez, pastor will officiate. Reverend John Gregory will co-officiate.

Diane K. Brigham
....show , on Saturday April 28, 2007, in the company of her family was finally able to stop fighting her battle with Leukemia.
Diane was born in Plymouth, NH on October 25, 1973, the daughter of Dawn Day.
She was a 1992 graduate of New Hampton Prep.School. She graduated from Keene State College in 1996 receiving her Bachelors Degree in English, after graduation she began teaching in Franklin. In the fall of 1997 she met her husband Jason, 1999 saw Diane and Jason criss-crossing the continent before settling for a year in Butte, MT. She and Jason returned to New Hampshire making Whitefield and Jefferson home.
In the summer of 2004 Diane gave birth to a baby boy Dillon Jakob, and within him found the reasons to keep fighting.
Diane enjoyed her dogs, Lewis, Samson, and Josephine. She also enjoyed attending athletic events, camping and traveling.
A loving mother and devoted wife, she was admired by so many for her unbelievable courage and determination.
Dianes spirit is carried on by, her mother, husband, and son. Additional family members include her grandmother Jacqueline Spear, her sisters Jessi and Jacqueline Day, a niece Skylar, her mother and father in-law, Jane and Jerry Brigham, a sister in-law Jessica, two brother in-laws, Jon and Joey, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A celebration of her life will held Thursday, May 3, at 4:00 PM, at the Day Spring Cathedral, Lancaster. A reception will follow.

Mr. Atwood was born in Windsor, VT, on January 23, 1946, the son of Carl Richard Atwood and Marion Lena (Beckwith) Burt.
Family members include his mother of Lancaster; five sons, Robert Gravelle of Groveton, Dana Atwood, John Atwood, and Arnold Atwood Jr. all of Massachusetts, Kevin Atwood of Washington; a daughter, Christine Atwood of Virginia; four grandchildren; a brother William Lapan of Vermont; and a sister Diane LaClair of Massachusetts.

Everett "Marty" Ballard
....show , 65, of Depot Street, died on May 2, 2007, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon, after a long and courageous battle with many medical issues.
Mr. Ballard was born in Richmond, Virginia, on September 1, 1941, the son of Everett M. and Frances (Lyne) Ballard II.
Marty was a jack-of-all-trades; during his lifetime he sold insurance, and for many years he drove a taxicab in Maryland, Washington D.C. and Richmond, VA. He moved to New Hampshire in 1971, where he met and married Carol Cass Pelletier, they briefly returned to the south, returning to Lancaster in 1976, where he built a woodshop and started his own business working as a salesman until he became disabled.
He loved to watch Animal Planet and NASCAR racing, he was a devoted Jeff Gordon fan. Martys biggest love in life was his family.
Family members include his wife of nearly 36 years, Carol Ballard, of Lancaster, his daughter Kristine Ballard and her fiancé Michael Grimard of Gilman, VT, his son Everett and his wife Gail Ballard of Greenback, TN, a step son Stephen and his wife Nancy Pelletier of Gilman, VT, three grandsons Nicholas Ballard, Carl Brooks Jr., and Timothy Brooks of Gilman, VT, two step grandsons Daniel Pelletier of Twin Mountain, Stephen Pelletier Jr. of Gilman, VT and a step granddaughter Crystal Pelletier of Penn. He was predeceased by, his parents.

Dorothy "Dottie" Carr
....show , 73, of Grange Road, died at her home Wednesday, May 2, 2007.
Mrs. Carr was born in Lemington, VT, on June 24, 1933, the daughter of Carrol and Viola (Norton) Reed.
She was raised in West Stewartstown, moving to Lancaster in the early 1960s, where she met and married her husband Allan J. Carr. For a time she worked as a waitress at the Lancaster Diner. She was also employed at the I.G.A in Northumberland, and later Butsons Supermarket, Lancaster, where she retired as store manager in 2002.
Dottie was a Red Sox and NASCAR fan; she enjoyed cooking, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren.
She was a member of St. Pauls Episcopal Church, Lancaster.
Family members include her husband of 42 years Allan of Lancaster, three daughters, Kathi Clarke of Littleton, Lolly Beikirch of Rochester, NY, and Charnee Buckley of Lancaster, a son Shayne Carr of Lancaster. Three stepchildren, Debbie York of Meredith, NH, Karen Paquette of Groveton, and Ricky Carr of Chichester, NH. Two brothers, Dean Reed and Everett Reed both of St. Johnsbury, VT, three sisters Phyllis Dowse of Manchester, Millie Bean of NH, and Christine Berry of West Palm Beach, FL. 19 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by, a son Daniel D. Wheeler on October 23, 2006 and a sister Irene Banfill.
Calling hours will be held on Friday afternoon and evening, May 4 from 2-4PM and 7-9PM at the Bailey Funeral Home in Lancaster. A funeral service will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 PM at St. Pauls Church, Lancaster. Reverend David Rose, pastor will co-officiate with her son-in-law Rev. Gary Beikirch of Rochester, NY.

Ted Benoit
....show , 75, died suddenly May 4, 2007, at his home on Kimball Road.
Mr. Benoit was born in North Stratford, NH, on July 18, 1931, the son of Noel and Rosa E. (Beauchemin) Benoit.
Ted was raised in Lunenburg where he worked on the family farm and later became self employed and hauled pulp locally. He proudly served as a Sergeant First Class with the US Infantry during the Korean Conflict. For many years he resided in Connecticut where he was employed as a heavy equipment operator and mechanic for almost 40 years. After retiring he returned to Lunenburg. Over the years he enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.
He was a lifetime member and past commander of the John W. Weeks VFW Post #3041, Lancaster, and the Local #1018 in Connecticut.
Family members include three children, Michele Schmidt of South Yarmouth, MA, Fawn Repoli of South Carolina, Terry Benoit of Massachusetts; a granddaughter, Tanya Benoit; five brothers, Duke Benoit, Reginald Benoit, and Edwin Benoit, all of Lunenburg, Lawrence Benoit of Fort Walton Beach, FL, Alphonse Benoit of San Antonia, TX; two sisters, Pearl Willey and Yvonne Boucher both of Lancaster; and many nieces and nephews. His parents and two brothers, Eugene Benoit and John Benoit predeceased him.

Gloria Mae Sullivan
....show , 70, of 18 Wolcott Street, died suddenly at her home, Monday night, May 7, 2007, of complications from a vascular illness.
Mrs. Sullivan was born in Lancaster on December 12, 1936, the daughter of Dannie and Evelyn J. (Stillings) Flynn.
She was a lifelong resident of Lancaster where she attended schools and graduated from Lancaster Academy in 1954. For a short time she worked in Brattleboro, VT, and returned home to work at the Mountain View in Whitefield. She was also employed for a time at the Lancaster Diner. While raising her children she had various jobs housekeeping and was co-custodian of the Lancaster Congregational Church with her husband for 41 years.
Gloria was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church, Lancaster and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary #3041, Lancaster. She loved helping at her sons greenhouse business, being with her children and grandchildren, gardening, fishing, crossword puzzles, cooking and cleaning. She was always there if you needed something and will be missed by all who knew her.
Surviving family members include a son Frederick Sullivan and his wife Patti, of Lancaster; a daughter Pamela J. (Sullivan) Frizzell and her husband Robert of Groveton; grandchildren, Allison Marie Sullivan of Lancaster, Paul Robert Frizzellof Groveton, Abbey M. and Amanda L. Frizzell of Groveton; Randy and Nicholas Blodgett of Lancaster, Lynne and Dawn Gellar and Sherri Stevens and their families; also one little great-grand-daughter Kamryn Jaycee Ledger; one brother Arnold (Jim) Flynn and wife Beatrice of Lancaster; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law Frances and John Pepau of Percy, NH; a sister-in-law Maureen Sullivan of Norwich, VT; Allisons mother, Diane E. Blodgett of Lancaster; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends far and near. Glorias dear husband, Paul W. Sullivan did on March 29, 2007. A son Edward Paul Sullivan and her parents also died previously.

....show , 83, of Hazen Drive, died Wednesday evening, May 23, 2007, at The Morrison in Whitefield.
Mrs. Davis was born in Vershire, Vermont, on March 5, 1924, the daughter of William and Carolyn (Morey) Perkins.
Doris and her husband Norris Davis were married in September 1954 and moved to Whitefield in 1967. Throughout her life, Doris loved nature. She loved wild flowers, picking berries (her favorite), hiking through the woods, fishing, hunting and in her earlier years, skiing. Doris loved her family and was always ready to give a helping hand whenever she was needed. We will miss her sweet smile and gentle spirit.
She is survived by her four children and their spouses; Gene Fairbrother and wife Barbara of Shoreham, VT, Lorraine Sis Cadwell and her husband Louis of Vershire, VT; Carolyn (Davis) Whipple and her husband Lance of Lancaster; Fred N. Davis and his wife Maggie of Whitefield; as well as thirteen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a sister Hilda Giniuze of Barefoot Bay, Florida; along with many nieces and nephews.
Doris is predeceased by her husband and soul mate Norris and her brother Robert Perkins of Vershire, Vt.

A funeral service will be held Saturday morning at 10:30 AM at the Twin Mountain Baptist Church, Carroll, NH. Rev. Ernest Gault, pastor will officiate. Addie Elizabeth Hillier Beattie
....show , 85, died on May 27, 2007, at Weeks Medical Center, Lancaster.
She was born December 8, 1921, in Lancaster to H. Wesley and Sarah Jane (Mitchell) Hillier, the youngest of five children, all predeceased.
Addie was a graduate from Lancaster Academy in 1939 and also attended the University of New Hampshire. She was a past president of the Lancaster Business and Professional Women and current vice-president and former secretary of Colonel Town Senior Citizens who voted her an Honorary Member in 2006. She was an active member of the State Employees Association (retired chapter).
Her employment included five years as Income Auditor for the Mount Washington Hotel and thirty years as radio dispatcher and supervisor in the District 1 office of the NH Department of Transportation in Lancaster. She was widely referred to as the Voice of the North Country from which she retired in 1990.
Her hobbies included league bowling, former membership in Lancaster Snowmobile club, knitting, scrabble, crosswords and supporting her great-grandchildren in their various activities associated with Colonel Town.
Surviving family members include her son Michael Beattie and his wife Sally of Lancaster; five grandchildren, Karen Cormier, Shane Beattie, Kristen Evans, Sandy Belanger and Kricket Ingerson; ten great-grandchildren, Mercedes, Tyler, Spencer, Ben, Christopher, Patrick, Katherine, Courtney, Cameron and Gracie; nieces, nephews and cousins. Her Daughter, Susan Beattie Carpenter predeceased her in March of 2006.
A visiting hour will be held Wednesday morning May 30 from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A graveside service will follow at 11:00 AM in Summer Street Cemetery, Lancaster. Rev. Virginia Alvarez, pastor of the Lancaster Congregational United Church of Christ will officiate.

Nancy L. Corriveau
....show of Kissimmee FL, died peacefully at home with her family at her side on Tuesday May 29 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Nancy was born in West Stewartstown, NH and grew up with her brother and sisters in North Stratford NH. She was the daughter of Arlene Short Pearson and Pershing Sweatt.
She graduated from North Stratford High School, and after marrying her husband, Claude J. Corriveau, in 1964, moved to Colebrook and then to Columbia. For many years Nancy worked as a maid at the Balsams Resort. In 2001 she then moved to Kissimmee, FL, and was hired on by Disney World.
Family members she will be survived by her husband of 43 years Claude; her daughter Suzanne Inkell and husband Brian of Columbia, NH; her son Kevin Corriveau of Atlanta, GA; her two grandchildren Taylor Inkell and Nicole Corriveau; and her two sisters Shirley Lepine and Virginia Turner of Florida. She is predeceased by her brother Dale Sweatt.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held Saturday June 16, at 2:00 PM at the Trinity United Methodist Church, Colebrook. Reverend Krisann Byrne-Scheri and Rev. Randall Scheri will officiate. A committal service will follow in the Colebrook Village Cemetery.

Catherine O'Dell
....show , 92, died Thursday evening, May 31, 2007, at Country Village Genesis Elder Care, Lancaster.
Mrs. ODell was born in Burlington, VT on April 11, 1915, the daughter of George and Sarah (Hare) Bergeron.
Catherine moved from Patterson, NJ to Newbury, VT in the early 1960s with her husband William. She has been a resident of Lancaster for the past three years.
She enjoyed crafts and won numerous ribbons at the Lancaster fair, for her dolls, birdhouses, and paintings. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Family members include five daughters, Carol Colbeth, Pat Kuralt, Linda ODell, Jane ODell and Debbie ODell; four sons, Thomas Kuralt, William ODell, Gerald ODell and Jack ODell; 21 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband and in 1967 her oldest son James Kuralt.

....show , 71, died at her home Friday morning June 1, 2007.
Mrs. Holden was born one of 14 children in North Stratford, NH, on November 17, 1935, the daughter of William and Carmen (Dupuis) King where she was raised as a youth and graduated from Stratford High School.
Joyce was a resident of Colebrook, Twin Mountain, and Groveton, prior to moving to Charlestown. She chose nursing as her career. Special things she enjoyed were riding on back roads, fishing, and the camp at Fish Pond. Her hearts greatest joys were her grandchildren and her great grandchildren.
Family members include her husband of 38 years, Wayne A. Holden Jr.; three daughters, Debra Morin of Milton, DE, Cynthia Holden-Plummer of Lebanon, Dawn Berry of Claremont; four sisters, Orleans Jeffers of Westbrook, ME, Gloria Brooks of Lancaster, Carol Sibulkin of Sanbornton, Darlene Henry of Pittsburg; granddaughter Tearsha Morin with two of her great-granddaughters, Kyra Morin and Keyllie Morin all of Ellendale, DE; grandson Thomas Plummer of Germaintown, MD; granddaughter Neecia Berry with one of her great-granddaughters Tailyn Berry both of Claremont; Grandson, William Plummer of Berdsboro, PA; grandson Zeric Berry with her great-grandson Tristen Berry of Claremont; and many nieces and nephews. A son Michael predeceased her.

Paul M. Marro
....show , 67, of Stebbins Hill Road, died Sunday morning June 3, 2007, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon. He fought the good fight after thirty years of dialysis.
Mr. Marro was born in Concord, VT, on December 26, 1939, the son of Pasquale John Pat and Leota (Sargent) Marro.
Residing most of his lifetime in Whitefield, Paul was a graduate of Whitefield High School. He served with the US Army and for a time resided in Boston where he worked at Marshals Department Store and as a steelworker. Returning home he worked for John Marro as a registered arborist for Marro Tree Experts. He then delivered oil for 20 years for Stiles Fuel, Whitefield. He retired to the EEE Farm in Lancaster where he enjoyed the wildlife and raising miniature horses.
Family members include his wife Cindy A. (Eager) Marro of Lancaster; a brother Louis N. Pete Marro and his wife Glen of Whitefield; two sisters Rosalie Miller of Whitefield, Janice Hall and her husband Peter of Whitefield; many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunt, uncles, and his three cats Crystal, Jade, Tawny.
There are no visiting hours. A graveside will be held Saturday morning at 11:00 in the Park Street Cemetery, Whitefield. Rev. Donald Williams, pastor of the Mt. View Baptist Church, will officiate.

Margaret Lyons
....show , 58, of Dalton Road, died Tuesday morning, June 5, 2007, at Weeks Medical Center, Lancaster.
Mrs. Lyons was born in Boston, MA on November 5, 1948, the daughter of Joseph A. and Virginia (Rose) Moccia.
Margaret lived in Massachusetts most of her life until moving to Dalton in 1985. She loved animals and enjoyed hiking.
She is survived by her husband of 23 years, John H. Lyons. Her parents died previously.
Visiting hours will be held Friday afternoon, June 8, from 1-3 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A funeral service will follow immediately after at 3:00 PM at the funeral home. Reverend George Majka, pastor, of St. Matthews Church, Whitefield will officiate. Burial will be private in St. Marys Cemetery, Randolph, MA.

Thomas A. Mosher
....show , 56, of North Road, died Wednesday, June 6, 2007, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon, after a long illness.
Mr. Mosher was born in Lancaster on March 31, 1951 the son of James H and Phyllis (Parker) Mosher.
Tom was raised on his familys farm in Lunenburg and graduated from White Mountain Regional High School. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War.
Working as a mechanic most of his life he was emplyed for a time at Roberts Motors Sales. He went on to own and operated Trees and Turf in Lancaster and later managed the business when it changed to the Tool Crib. For the past twelve years he was employed at F.B Spaulding. He was also a self employed entrepreneur, doing various outdoor work, including lawn care, plowing, and wood cutting.
He was a member of John W. Weeks V.F.W Post 3041, Lancaster.
Family members include his mother, Phyllis of Lunenburg, two sons, Thomas A. Mosher Jr. of Northumberland and Jamie A. Mosher of Whitefield; a daughter Tanya M. Mosher of Loudon and a stepdaughter Carrisa Flynn of Washington State; two sisters, Anna Eastman of Anchorage, and Betty McLeod of Northumberland and one granddaughter Breanna Mosher. He was predeceased by, his wife Nancy (Heath) Mosher on July 3, 2003.
Memorial visiting hours will be held Saturday evening, June 9 from 5-8 at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A graveside service will be held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 PM in Summer Street Cemetery, Lancaster. Florence Blanchard Amadon
....show , 94, formerly of Summer Street, died Thursday afternoon, June 7, 2007, at Country Village Genesis Elder Care Center, Lancaster.
Mrs. Amadon was born in Yarmouth, Maine, on February 7, 1913, the daughter of George and Florence (Kwinkelenberg) Blanchard.
Florence was raised in Meredith, NH and attended school there. She was a 1933 graduate of Keene Normal School, earning a Bachelors Degree in teaching. During her career in education she taught in Machias, ME, Suncook, Franconia, and Milton, NH, Barre and Montpelier, VT. Her years spent in Montpelier she was an innovator in implementing newer educational philosophies in primary grades.
She was an active member in the Eastern Star and the Grange and was also a member of St. Pauls Guild, Lancaster Senior Citizens, and Alpha Delta Kappa.
She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, Montpelier before moving to Lancaster where she worshiped at St. Pauls Episcopal Church.
Family members include a son David B. Amadon and his wife Iris of Lancaster; a daughter Muriel A. Johnson and her husband Charles of Downers Grove, IL; nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by, her husband Clarence P. Amadon in 1985.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday morning June 13, at 10:00 AM at St. Pauls Episcopal Church, Lancaster. Reverend David Rose, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Summer Street Cemetery, Lancaster.

Robert B. Tobin Sr.
....show , 67, of Main Street died Friday June 8, 2007, at his residence.
Mr. Tobin was born in Jamaica Queens, New York on July 21, 1939, the son of Ernest A. and Nelly (Barnes) Tobin.
Robert was a graduate of Mannes School of Music in New York City and was an active musician all of his life. He moved to Groveton with his family in 1968 to work as the music director of Groveton High School, where he taught for 26 years. He was the founder and director of the North Country Community Band. He continued to be involved in music, brass groups, recorder groups and various music ensembles all of his life. Among many musicians he was respected and admired for his musicianship. His influence as a teacher and musician changed countless lives and filled our communities with music all year round.
In 1982 he opened Tobins Bicycle Repair Shop in Groveton and in 1986 he moved his shop to Lancaster where he resided with his wife and three sons. In 1989 he bicycled across the United States crossing the northern route from Seattle, WA to Portsmouth, NH.
He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed biking, fishing, kayaking, cross country skiing, Scottish Country Dancing, and hiking.
Family members include his wife of 42 years, Gerardine B. Tobin, his three sons, Robert Tobin Jr. of Lunenburg, VT; William Tobin and his wife Laura, and their son Liam of St. Johnsbury, VT and Andrew Tobin and his wife Molly and their two children, Chloe and Kieran of Lancaster. One of his greatest joys was his grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday evening June 12, from 6-8 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A memorial service will be held on Thursday evening, June 14, at 6:00 PM at the Tobin residence on Main Street, Lancaster.

Anne Louise Goad
....show , 85, of Main Street, died Thursday afternoon, June 14, 2007, at Weeks Medical Center, Lancaster.
Mrs. Goad was born in Lyndon, Vermont on October 17, 1921, the daughter of Charles and Ruth (Foster) Bristol.
Anne was raised in Littleton and later married Clayton James Goad, for a time they resided in Whitefield and later Northumberland before moving to Springfield, MA where they lived for 25 years. In 1981 she returned to Northumberland after her husbands retirement and six years later moved to her present residence at the McKee Inn in Lancaster.
She was an avid baseball fan and collected Native American artwork and artifacts.
Family members include a son Stephen Clayton Goad of Ware, MA; three daughters, Sandra Lee Shannon of Guildhall, Donna Louise Duplisea of Chicopee, MA and Althea Sarnacki of Whitefield; many grand and great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by, her husband Clayton in 1992 and her sister Dorothy McBrine.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday afternoon, June 17, from 2-5 PM, at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. The funeral will be Monday morning at 10:00 AM at the Guildhall Community Church, Guildhall. Reverend Gerry Piper of Orleans, VT will officiate. Burial will follow in the Northumberland Cemetery.

Forrest G. Flanders
....show , 83, formerly of Dalton, died Saturday morning, June 23, 2007, at Country Village Health Genesis Health Care Center.
Mr. Flanders was born in Lake Shore Park, NH on August 19, 1923 the son of Clinton A.E. and Olive L. (Willard) Flanders.
Forrest served with the U.S Navy, during WWII. He was a Dale Carnegie Graduate. For many years he owned and operated Flanders Jeep Sales and Service in Dalton, he also worked as a service manager at Roberts Motor Sales in Lancaster until his retirement. After retirement he worked at Jebco Groves and Oxbow Golf and Country Club in Labelle, FL, and at the Spaulding Inn in Whitefield.
He served on the Board of Directors at Whitefield Savings Bank and Trust, was a member of the Dalton Volunteer Fire Dept. He was also a licensed Private Pilot, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and golfing.
Forrest was a 32 Degree Mason and member of Mt. Lebanon Masonic Lodge # 32, Laconia. He was also a member of the Whitefield VFW post 10675.
Family members include his wife Ruth E. (Denonville) Flanders of Lancaster; three daughters Connie Costello of Whitefield, Joy Kobelt and her husband Michael of Chico, CA and Terri Hollinden and her husband David of Ireland, IN, 5 grandchildren, Olivia Kobelt of San Diego, CA, Gregory Costello of Columbus, OH, Elizabeth Hollinden, Benjamin Brooks, and Rachel Hollinden all of Ireland, IN, two great grandchildren, a sister, Phyllis York and her husband Wallace of Wolfeboro, NH, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by, four sisters and three brothers.

Mr. Hall was born in Northumberland on August 16, 1935 the son of Clifton and Nellie (Merchant) Hall.
Herbert was raised in Groveton and he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He resided in Groveton for many years until moving to Guildhall in 2001. He worked in the Maintenance Department at Wausau Paper, retiring after 28 years.
He was a member of John W. Weeks V.F.W Post 3041, Lancaster.
Family members include his wife, Gwendolyn M. (Parker) Hall of Guildhall; four daughters, Tammy Brown of Guildhall, Pammy Hodgdon and her husband Kenny of Granby, Norma Hand and her husband Donald of Groveton, and Karen Hand and her companion Dale Huntoon of Northumberland; one brother Addison Hall of Groveton; three sisters, Barbara Benoit of Groveton, Nellie Meeham of Florida, and Dorothy Cook of Massachusetts, 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by, his son in-laws, Richard Hand and Gary Brown, two brothers and three sisters.
