Lottie was born in Groveton, NH, on July 8, 1944, the daughter of Clifton and Nellie (Marchant) Hall.
Mrs. Flanders was raised in Groveton and was a graduate of Groveton High School. For the past 38 years she has lived in North Stratford. She worked as a seamstress for Manchester Manufacturing for 20 years and was also employed at GAMM. She enjoyed crafts, making flower arrangements, cooking, traveling, and especially being with her family and friends.
She was a member of the Stratford Hollow Methodist Church.
Family members include two sons; Jeffrey Flanders and his wife Alberta of Stewartstown, James Flanders and his wife Marsha of N. Stratford; a daughter; Tia Flanders and her companion Bud Willey of Whitefield; four grandchildren; Jonathan Flanders and his companion Miranda Sweatt of Colebrook, Kevin Flanders of N. Stratford, Kasha Flanders and Justin Flanders both of Stewartstown; one great-grandson; Dakota Keith Flanders of Colebrook; two brothers; Herbert Hall of Guildhall, VT, Addison Hall of Colebrook; three sisters; Barbara Benoit of Groveton, Nellie Meehan of Florida, Dorothy Cook of Massachusetts; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by, her husband George L. Flanders.
Visiting hours will be held Wednesday afternoon and evening, February 1, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A funeral service will be held Thursday morning at 11:00 AM at the United Methodist Church, Groveton. Lotties niece Rev. Barbara Sander, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Candia, will officiate.

Juliette Desjardins
....show , 70, of Cabin Fever Lane, died Thursday afternoon, January 26, 2006, at Weeks Medical Center, Lancaster.
Mrs. Desjardins was born in South Berwick, Maine, on October 22, 1935, the daughter of Maurice and Beatrice (Chouinard) Taschereau.
Raised in Nashua, NH, she resided there for many years until she and her late husband Roland A. Desjardins moved to Jefferson in the 60s. She was employed most of her lifetime as a waitress having worked in Nashua and many years at the Continental in Littleton. She was also employed for a time at Profile Cleaners, Littleton, and Littleton Stamp and Coin. She always enjoyed coffee time with friends.
Family members include two daughters, Diane Boutin and Denise D. Desjardins both of Jefferson; a brother, Michael Taschereau of Merrimack; two sisters, Patricia Belanger of Florida, Gloria Lambert of Dalton; three grandchildren and one great-grandson. Roland predeceased her in 2003. She was also predeceased by a sister Annette Tribbitt and two brothers, Conrad Taschereau and Romeo Taschereau.
At Juliettes request there are no visiting hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday morning January 31, at 10:00. Reverend Raymond Ball, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the spring at Calvary Cemetery, Lancaster.

Carol Ann Hegyi
....show , 66, of Main Street, died Wednesday afternoon, January 25, 2006, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon.
Carol was born in Bridgeport, CT, on April 3, 1939, the daughter of Alexander and Anna (Kurek) Hegyi.
For many years she resided in Devon, CT, and graduated from Lauralton Hall, Milford, CT. She attended Albertus Magnus College in New Haven, CT, where she acquired a teaching degree and then went on to earn a masters degree at Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT. Her teaching career was devoted to high school math and she taught at St. Marys High School, New Haven, CT, Milford High School, Milford, CT, and the Joseph A. Foran High School, Milford, CT.
She retired from teaching in 1995 and moved to Lancaster in 2005. For many years she was involved with the New Haven Math League and the Connecticut State Math League of which she was a coordinator. Memberships include the National Council for Teachers of Mathematics and the Tabernacle Society of All Saints Church.
Carol enjoyed reading, crocheting, quilting, crafting and puzzles of all kinds, especially crossword puzzles.
Family members include her sister Sandra J. Hegyi of Lancaster; one uncle, John Kurek and one aunt, Helen Kurek, both of Bridgeport, CT, and cousins.

Frederick Wilkinson
....show , 68, of Riverside Ave., died peacefully in his sleep at his home on Tuesday, January 24, 2006.
Mr. Wilkinson was born in St. Johnsbury, Vermont on August 11, 1937 the son of Clarence and Margaret (Johnson) Wilkinson.
Frederick was a lifetime resident of Gilman and was known by his friends and family as Sonny or Ab. He graduated from Lancaster Academy in 1955. For 25 years he was employed at Gilman Paper Company/Georgia Pacific. He enjoyed reading, movies, and television. At the time when CB radios where popular he was well known in the community as Rolling Donut. Spending time with family, especially he great-nieces, brought him his greatest enjoyment. Particularly the time spent at the family camp in Victory.
He was a Free and Accepted Mason with the Moose River Lodge #82, Concord, VT.
Family members include a brother John Wilkinson and his wife Beverly of Lunenburg, VT; one nephew, Kevin Wilkinson and his companion Heather of Lunenburg; two nieces; Karen Danforth and her husband Brian of Lunenburg, Kristen Jones and her husband Steven of Lancaster; seven great-nieces Megan Danforth, Miranda Danforth, Kelsey Wilkinson, Kierra Wilkinson, Felicia Colbeth, Kailyn Jones, and Lauryn Jones; one aunt, Clara Rodgers of St. Johnsbury; several cousins and good friend Bob Gunnip.

Mrs. Ramsdell was born in Dalton, NH on April 11, 1912 the daughter of Alfred and Marion (Tillotson) Fountain.
Evelyn was raised and resided in Dalton for most of her life. She worked at Profile Cleaners for a time and over 25 years at Manchester Knitted Fashions in Whitefield. In 1995 she moved to Holton Point and has resided at Country Village since 1997. She was an active member of the Dalton community, an avid card player and was always loving and giving.
She was a member of the Dalton Grange, Ladies Aid Society, and the Dalton Congregational Church.
Family members include two sons; Carl F. Ramsdell and his wife Sandra of Maidstone, VT, John G. Ramsdell of Barrington, NH; two daughters Marilyn R. Carlson and her husband Berger of Concord, NH, Rita M. Ramsdell of Saint Johnsbury,VT; two brothers in-law, Lawrence Ramsdell of Dalton, Willard Ramsdell of Whitefield; a sister in-law, Katherine Stockwell also of Whitefield; 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband George F. Ramsdell and a granddaughter Jill Carlson.

Janice D. Meunier
....show , 42, of Preble Street, died Tuesday afternoon January 17, 2006 at Weeks Medical Center, Lancaster surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Meunier was born in Berlin, NH on August 27, 1963 the daughter of Howell Moose LaFlamme and Doris Bourassa Laflamme Beaudoin.
Janice moved to Groveton at an early age, attending Groveton schools and was a 1982 graduate of Groveton High School. She worked at Ames Department Store, Berlin City Bank, Groveton, and was of recent, manager at the Perras Treasures, Northumberland. She loved bingo, scratch tickets, computers, online games and her favorite dog Gizmo. Time spent with friends was of great value to Janice, especially socializing with the local Coffee Club. She was a devoted follower of auto racing and enjoyed watching her son and nephew race in Groveton and was an avid Nascar fan.
Family members include her husband Thomas M. Meunier of Groveton; a son Christopher P. Meunier and his companion Jamie L. Boutin, of Groveton; a daughter Amy D. Alice Louise Abbott
....show , 80, of Summer Street, died Thursday January 12, 2006, at her home. Mrs. Abbott was born the youngest of seven children in Lancaster on April 6, 1925, the daughter of Arthur and Ruby (Stone) Cryan. Alice was a 1943 graduate of Lancaster Academy. She went on to attend Plymouth Teachers College where she graduated in 1947. That same year she married Reginald H. Abbott on August 30 at All Saints Church, Lancaster.
They moved to Okmulgee, Oklahoma where she taught elementary school on an Indian Reservation for three years while her husband attended Oklahoma A&M Diesel School. They moved back east to Nashua, NH, briefly and then to Lancaster where they have lived for the past 56 years.
Mrs. Abbott taught elementary school in Peterborough, Lancaster and Groveton, NH. She taught full-time in Groveton from 1968-1990 where she taught 3rd grade and remedial reading. The last few years before her retirement she served as assistant principle. After retirement Mrs. Abbott continued to substitute teach for ten years at the Groveton School.
In 1981 Alice began her 25-year career as a volunteer at Weeks Memorial Hospital. Over the years she could be found in a number of places in the hospital working her magic on the med-surg floors, the gift shop, the pharmacy, or the dining room. She was a dedicated and tireless volunteer accruing 8350 hours over the past 25 years. In 1991 she received the Mel Gallup Outstanding Volunteer Service Award, of which she was extremely proud. In 1995 she was recognized as the Outstanding Hospital Volunteer of NH by the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Volunteering was a way of life for Alice even after arthritis in her knees made extremely difficult for her to get around. In her spare time she loved to read.
She was a Communicant of All Saints Church where she also served as a Eucharistic minister, a greeter, and taught catechism. She was also a member of the Tabernacle Society at All Saints Church and a member of the VFW Auxiliary. Alice was Lancasters last Gold Star Mother. She lost a son Terry M. Abbott in 1968 in the Vietnam War.
Surviving family members include her husband Reginald of Lancaster; three children, Stephen R. Abbott and wife Elizabeth of Eugene, Oregon, Penny L. Durgin and husband William of Lancaster, Tracey L. Abbott and partner Cindy of Sweden, Maine; four grandchildren, Chad Abbott, Nathan Abbott, Scott Durgin, Gretchen Colby; three great-grandchildren, Nathan Abbott, Jason Abbott, Gracie Frost Durgin; and two sisters.
Visiting hours will be held Monday January 16, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow immediately after at 1:00 PM at All Saints Church, Lancaster. Rev. Raymond Ball pastor, will officiate.

Jeffrey W. Ball
....show , 48, of Summer Street, died Monday, January 9, 2006, at Weeks Medical Center, Lancaster, after a long battle with cancer.
Jeff was born in Manchester, NH, on June 10, 1957. He attended area schools including White Mountain Regional High School for a time, and was the first student to receive their diploma from Profile high School, Class of 1977, in Bethlehem, NH. He furthered his education with various certificate programs with GM training, ASC, ect, always willing to learn new things.
Through the years he has been employed at Currier Auto, North Country Ford, Belanger Oldsmobile, Roberts Motor Sales, Rialto Theater, Whitney Motors, Weeks Memorial Hospital all of Lancaster, and White Mt. Auto and Dicks Trucks, both of Whitefield, Estys, Jefferson, and James River, Groveton. His most current employment was at Martins Agway, Lancaster. After working so many years on automobiles he thought hed take an early retirement with small engines, a job where he got to talk to the customers.
He was a longtime member of the Lancaster Snowdrifters Snowmobile Club and currently held a position on the board of directors. He was assistant leader of Brownie Girl Scout Troop 50, Junior Troop 117, Cadette Troop 240, moving up through with his girls and helping with other troops when help was needed. Helping with activities from cookie sales to flower planting, haunting at the Rocks Estate, or the annual shopping rip in Boston, he never knew what was coming next, but he was always there.
Jeff enjoyed snowmobiling, fly fishing and tying his own flies, cars, motorcycles, hunting, camping, hiking, and was an auto racing fan.
His children Elizabeth and Megan where first and foremost in his live. He learned a lot from them and they in turn learned a lot from him. Jeff enjoyed meeting people whether at work or scouting or snowmobiling or on top of some mountain.

Mr. Wood was born in Gilman, VT, on January 15, 1926, the son of Reuben and Flora (Savoie) Wood.
Richard was a lifetime resident of Gilman. During WWII he served with the US Army, after returning home he married his wife Irene Tuttle in 1948. At that time he began working at the Gilman Paper Company where he retired after 46 years of employment. He also worked in the building construction trade and logging.
He was a member of the Gilman Methodist Church.
Family members include his wife Irene of Gilman; two daughters, Nancy Nye and her husband Alan of Essex, VT, and Barbara Hartshorn and her husband Bruce of Lancaster; two brothers, Robert B. Wood of Saint Johnsbury, VT, and Delwin R. Wood of Lunenburg, VT; four grandchildren, Benjamin Nye, Melinda Nye, Nicholas Hartshorn, Abigail Hoppe and her husband David, Elizabeth Nye and great-granddaughter Anna Hoppe.

James N. Morin
....show , 75, of Mechanic Street, died January 7, 2006, at Country Village Health Care Center, Lancaster.
James was born in Lancaster, NH, on May 14, 1930, the son of Peter J. and Olivene (Morrisette) Morin.
Mr. Morin was a lifetime resident of Lancaster. During the Korean Conflict he served with the US Army. He was employed at Whitney Motors for a time and later purchased it in 1969, he also sold Moto-Ski and Artic Cat snowmobiles until his retirement in 1980. After his retirement he worked various jobs in the summer and wintered in Paisley, Florida for 19 years.
He was a member of the John W. Weeks VFW Post # 3041, and the Military Order of Cooties.
Family members include his wife Beverly (Kiser) Morin of Lancaster; a stepson, Gary Savage and his wife Sharon of Lancaster; a stepdaughter Sharon Welch and her husband John of Groveton; two brothers, John A. Morin of Lunenburg, VT and Paul H. Morin of Niagara Falls, NY; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his stepson Dennis Savage and three brothers, Peter Morin Jr., Fredrick Morin, and Francis Morin.

Stephanie Falkenstrom
....show , 88, died Thursday, January 5, 2006, at Country Village Health Care Center, Lancaster.
Mrs. Falkenstrom was born in Fairfield, Connecticut on June 30, 1917, the daughter of John and Louise (Kieler) Neidzwiedz.
Stephanie lived in Fairfield most of her life, where she worked as a seamstress for Robert Hall. She moved to Groveton on September 30, 1973, where she resided for 13 years before moving to Dalton with her son Chuck, until a year ago she was a resident of the McKee Inn, Lancaster.
She was an avid seamstress, also loved to crochet, read, and work in her garden.
Family members include a son Charles Falkenstrom Jr. of Dalton, a daughter Mary Lou Bodnar and her husband Joseph of Northumberland; four grandchildren, Erica Witcher of Meredith, Colleen De Moras of Kentuckey, Joseph Bodnar Jr.of Loudon, and Darrell Bodnar of Groveton, three great- grand children, Noah, Jacob, and Joshua. She was predeceased by her husband Charles Falkenstrom in 1985.

Rene R. Dubreuil
....show of Lancaster passed away at his home on January 2, 2006 surrounded by his family. He was born in Berlin, NH on September 12, 1931 to Alida (Plante) Dubreuil Ashby and Henry Dubreuil. He grew up on the Dubreuil farm on North Road and was a graduate of Lancaster Academy. Rene married Jean Savage on July 2, 1952 and the couple made their present home on Williams Street after moving there in 1957. Rene retired in 1995 from the Groveton Paper Co. mill after working there 40 years.
In his earlier years Rene enjoyed woodworking, playing guitar and singing, dancing with friends, playing pool, hunting, fishing, pitching horseshoes and a little R & R. During retirement he filled his days with working on the woodpile, feeding the birds, playing with his dog Woody, nurturing his garden and watching his grandchildren grow.
Family members include his wife of 53 years, Jean of Lancaster; sons Ronald & wife Lesley Jacobson of Bennington, VT, Michael & partner Vicki Yoder of Canaan, NH, Kenneth of Navarre, FL, Peter & wife Janet of Lancaster and a daughter Patricia Ainsworth & husband Greg of Lancaster; a brother, Robert of Nashua, a sister, Cecile Dutremble of Biddeford, ME; Grandchildren include Micah, Joshua, Abbie, Aaron, & Janelle Dubreuil, Heather Kelley, Katie & Tessa Yoder, Riley & Jacob Moyer, and Emma Ainsworth. He leaves four great grandchildren: Morgan, Adrian, Chelsea and Taylor. Many other family members including brothers-in law and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews will miss Rene. He was predeceased by a brother, Raymond, a sister Theresa Hartlen, son-in-law Richard Moyer, and daughter-in-law Diane (Bernier) Dubreuil.

Jeffrey Brooks Haynes

Jeff was born in Hanover, NH, on May 25, 1982, the son of Joy Brooks Haynes.

Raised in Colebrook, Jeff worked in his youth as a paper-boy and pumped gas at Lemeiuxs Garage. He graduated from Colebrook Academy in 2000 and then worked one year at Ethan Allen in Beecher Falls, VT.
After 9/11 he enlisted in the US Marine Corp with good friend Scott Dobson on December 3, 2001. They served together from Parris Island, to Oklahoma and Okinawa, Japan. When transferred to the Middle East, Jeff was stationed in Allsard, Iraq, with 11 men in his command and Scott went to serve at the Syrian Border.
Jeff returned stateside in April and was stationed at Camp Lejeune, N. Carolina. There he assisted with the Katrina Relief effort in Louisiana. He returned home to Colebrook on December 3, 2005.
He enjoyed snowmobiling, four wheelers, his motorcycle and NASCAR Racing. His latest love was his dog Tyson.

He was predeceased by his grandfathers, Weldon K. Brooks and Donald C. Haynes.
Visiting hours will be held Thursday evening January 5, from 6-9 PM at the Trinity United Methodist Church, Colebrook. A funeral service will be held Friday morning at 11:00 at the church. Pastors, Rev. Randall Scheri and Rev. Krisann Byrne-Scheri will officiate.

Joseph J. "Doc" Bodnar
....show , 63, of Lancaster Road, died Saturday evening February 25, at Weeks Medical Center, Lancaster.
Mr. Bodnar was born in Bridgeport, CT, on August 18, 1942, the son of Joseph and Mary (Hiza) Bodnar. He was raised in Fairfield, CT, and moved to the North Country in 1974, residing first in Lancaster and later Groveton. He was an accomplished woodworker all his life and was employed at Brown Street Furniture, Whitefield, for 14 years. In his retirement years he continued his craft and made furniture for his family.
Family members include his wife Mary Lou Bodnar of Groveton; two sons, Joseph Bodnar of Dalton, Darrell Bodnar of Groveton; a daughter, Coleen DeMoras of Kentucky; grandchildren, Jacob Bodnar, Joshua Bodnar, Noah Bodnar; a sister Patricia Troy of California; a brother-in-law, Charles Falkenstrom of Dalton; four nieces, Stacy King, Cheryl San Pablo, Anne Thompson-Ballew, Erica Witcher; and two grand nieces, Rachel King and Nicole King.
At Mr. Bodnars request there will not be calling hours. A private memorial service will be held Friday afternoon, March 3, at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. Rev. Raymond Ball, pastor of All Saints Church, Lancaster, will officiate. At 3PM on Friday family and friends are invited to the Bodnar residence for a luncheon.

Rodney Tyler Allen Webster
....show , 14, of South Whitefield Road, died Friday February 24, 2006.
Rodney was born in Littleton, NH, on December 22, 1991. He was an eight grader and active student at Whitefield School. He was the present class president and his involvement with sports included soccer, baseball and wrestling. For the years 2005 and 2006 he was the state wrestling champ in his division. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and skiing.
Family members include his parents Stephen and Lori J. (Rivard) Webster of Whitefield; a twin brother Riley Allen Webster of Whitefield; a sister Megan Christine Webster of Whitefield; maternal grandparents, Rodney and Amber Boudle of Jefferson; paternal grandparents, Dalton & Linda Webster of Dalton; maternal great-grandparents, Leo and Marion Dupont of Jefferson; many aunts, uncles, and special cousins.
Memorial visiting hours will be held Sunday evening February 26, from 5-8 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A memorial service will be held Monday morning at 11:00 AM at the Assembly of God Church, Route 3 North, Lancaster. Rev. James Michaels, pastor, will officiate.

Hazel D. Downing
....show , 89, died Sunday, afternoon, February 19, 2006, at St. Johnsbury Health and Rehab where she has been a resident since 2001.
Mrs. Downing was born in Newbury, VT, on April 9, 1916, the daughter of Knox and Mary (Abbott) Henderson.
In her youth, Hazel was very active in sports and was a graduate of Newbury High School. In 1946 she married Baxter Ball. For many years she operate Hazels Cabins in Lunenburg through the late 60s. She was an avid hunter and fisherman right up to her early 70s. Baxter predeceased her in 1957 and she later married Frank H. Downing of Lunenburg.
She was a life member of the VFW and American Legion Auxiliaries. She was also a member of the Grange.
Family members include her son Richard B. Ball and his wife Brenda of Passumpsic; two grandsons, Richard B. Ball II and wife Rachael of Twin Mountain, James Ball and wife Lisa of Barnet; a granddaughter, Melissa Bourgeois and husband Bret of East St. Johnsbury; great-grandchildren, Zachary, Colby, Isabel, Tyler, and Caitlyn; and a sister Jean Richardson of North Haverhill. She was also predeceased by Frank in 1993; five sisters and one brother.
Visiting hours will be held Wednesday evening February 22, from 6-8 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A funeral service will be held Thursday afternoon at 1 PM at the Lunenburg Methodist Church. Rev. Henry Cheney, pastor will officiate. Burial will be in the spring in the Riverside Cemetery, S. Lunenburg.
LANCASTER -
Lena Mae Lord
....show , 97, died February 8, 2006, at the Country Village Health Care Center, Lancaster.
Lena was born in Jefferson, NH, on March 9, 1908, the daughter of Percy Guy and Bertha Mae (Ingerson) Dorr.
Mrs. Lord was raised in Jefferson and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1926, she also attended Plymouth State College. In 1927 she married Avery P. Lord and the couple resided in Berlin until they moved south to Holiday, FL in 1971. She returned to New Hampshire in 2001 living at Holton Point until last November at which time she became a resident of Country Village Health Care Center. She was an avid gardener, and she especially enjoyed planting trees and shrubs.
She was a member of the Suncoast Baptist Church in Holiday, FL.
Family members include a niece, Marilyn Carr and her husband Dana of Hartland, ME, two nephews, Lawrence Dorr and his wife Audrey of Crozier, VA, and Donald Dorr and his wife Robin of Naperville, IL; several great nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Avery in 1988, a brother Harold Dorr, and two sister in-laws, Idella (Tucker) Dorr and Elsie McConnell Dorr Underwood.
There are no visiting hours. A graveside service will be held in the spring in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Milan.
