, 95, of Houston, Texas, died May 5, 2006, at the Vista Care Triumph Center in Houston, Texas. Mrs. Dollins was born June 3, 1910, in Hardwick, a daughter of the late Walter and Blanche (Marsh) Field. She attended Hardwick and Greensboro public schools and continued her education at Johnson Normal School. She spent many years making a home for herself and her husband in both North and South American countries due to her husband's employment, which required travel for extended periods of time. She attended church services at the East Hardwick Congregational Church, which was very special to her. She was a member of the East Hardwick Grange. She spent summers in Vermont with family and friends. Playing cards was one of her favorite pastimes. Survivors include a sister, Beulah Field, a resident at Haven Health Nursing Home in St. Albans; 11 nieces and nephews; and a dear friend, Jean McCauly, of Houston. She was predeceased by her husband, Scott Dollins; and by two sisters, Pearl Kendall and Vivian Allen. A memorial service honoring her life will be held on Saturday, June 17, at 11 a.m. at the East Hardwick Congregational Church with the Reverend Paul Chandler officiating. Burial will follow in the family lot in the Sanborn Cemetery in East Hardwick.

, 81, of Newport Center died at her home in the loving arms of her family. Mrs. Brown was born the youngest daughter of Harold and Jane Dow on February 20, 1925. On September 28, 1945, she married the love of her life, Elwyn L. Brown, who survives her after 60 years together. She graduated from Newport Center High School in 1943. She was then employed by Chance Vought Company Aircraft Parts during World War II in Bridgeport, Connecticut, where she assembled airplane engines. In earlier years her hobbies included playing golf at the Newport Country Club where she and her husband were members. She was a member of the Newport Center women's bowling league. She really enjoyed hunting, fishing, and taking family drives with her husband and two sons. In later years she loved dining out with family and friends, playing cards and pool at her home, and receiving special visits by all the people she loved. She was an avid Red Sox fan, except against her husband, who was a Yankees fan. Through her years of sickness she always held a positive appearance with everyone who knew her. She will leave a void in many lives. She is also survived by her two loving sons and their wives, Glen and Arlene Brown and Fred and Sheryl Brown, all of Newport Center; by two grandchildren, Glen Warren and his wife, Tammy Brown, of Derby and Sharon and Dylan Eustaces of Lyndonville; by three great-grandchildren: Brandon and Brooklyn Brown and Myah Eustace; by a sister, Doris D. LaCross, of Newport; and by a very special part of the family, Dottie Bouton of Middlebury. She was predeceased by her parents; by a brother, Carlton Dow; and by a sister, Carolyn Rowland. Funeral services were held June 8 at a Curtis-Britch Converse-Rushford Funeral Home in Newport with the Reverend Richard Whitehill officiating. Interment followed in the Newport Center Cemetery. , 84, of Essex Junction died on Thursday, June 8, 2006, at her home. Mrs. Beaulieu was born in Troy on November 21, 1921, a daughter of the late Octavien J. and Alexandrina (Roberge) Coutu. She was a World War II veteran, having served with the U.S. Navy Hospital Corps from 1945 to 1947. In 1951 she married Philippe E. Beaulieu. They spent 43 years in Westfield where she was town clerk and treasurer. She was a teacher in the Westfield, Newport, and North Troy schools. She was very active in the Sacred Heart Parish in Troy. In 1995 she moved to Essex Junction where she has been a member of St. Lawrence Church, the Blue Spruce Grange, and the Retired Senior Volunteer Program. She is survived by her two daughters and their spouses, Helene and William Bentley of St. Stephen, New Brunswick, and Annette and Star Phillips of Charlotte, North Carolina; by her grandchildren Keith Bentley of Toronto, Ontario, and Kimberly Bentley of St. Stephen; by her brother Jean Peter Coutu and wife, Joyce, of Essex Junction; by her sisters: Madeline Lister and ThereseMagnant of Essex Junction and Sister Patrice (Georgette) Coutu of Techney, Illinois; and by numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Marcel Coutu; and by a sister Yvette Tousley. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated June 12 in St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church in Essex Junction. , 88, of Island Pond died at his home on Friday, June 16, 2006. Mr. Weatherstone was born in Island Pond on December 18, 1917, a son of Walter "Jim" Somerville and Elizabeth (Nolen) Weatherstone. He graduated from Brighton High School. He worked as chief clerk for the Canadian National Railroad at the Berlin, New Hampshire, Servo Center. He was a fourth degree member and financial secretary at Knights of Columbus Gibbons Council Newport Post No. 1157. He was a member of the St. James the Greater Catholic Church in Island Pond. He coached basketball at St. Mary's School in Island Pond until it closed. He refereed basketball games in northern Vermont and New Hampshire. He was a Yankees' fan and loved hunting and fly fishing. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and always welcomed company. In his later years he took up golf. On June 20, 1946, he married Laura Wilkins, who survives him. He is survived by his daughters Deborah Lefebvre of Island Pond, and Pamela Newland of Eliot, Maine; by his grandchildren: Leslie Lefebvre, Jared Lefebvre, Aaron Lefebvre, Adam Lefebvre, Jennifer Bubier, and Jonathan Newland; by his great-grandchildren: Trevor and Shelby Dodge and Eric and Abigail Bubier; and by his sister Grace Hurley of North Stratford, New Hampshire. He was predeceased by his brother William Weatherstone; and by his sister Phila Russell. A Memorial Mass will be held at the convenience of the family at St. James Catholic Church with burial at Lakeview Cemetery in Island Pond. , 89, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, formerly of Newport, died in Tulsa on Wednesday, June 7, 2006. Mrs. Turcotte was born in Newport on December 28, 1916, a daughter of Asa Richard and Locia Vida Hancock. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary. She enjoyed crocheting and loved to watch golf on television. On April 14, 1934, she married Raymond E. Turcotte, who predeceased her. She is survived by her daughter Cynthia Faye Laplante and her husband, H.C., of Tulsa; by her grandchildren: Gregory Laplante and his wife, Brenda, of Tomball, Texas, Lisa Laplante and her husband, Dan Case, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Timothy Laplante of Smyrna, Georgia; by her great-grandchildren: Christina, Bridget, and Andrew Laplante and Elizabeth and Austin Case; by three nieces; and by three nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Vernon Asa Hancock; and by her sisters: Rachel Coburn Verrill, Margaret Wallace, and Gertrude Young. , 80, of Newport died on Tuesday, June 13, 2006, following a long illness. Mr. St.Onge was the husband of the late Doris A. (Lebel) St.Onge, who died in 1998. They were married for 47 years. He resided in Central Falls, Massachusetts, since 1955 until relocating to Vermont last December. He was born on May 3, 1926, in Berlin, New Hampshire, a son of the late Charles and Rose-Alma (Charron) St.Onge. He is survived by his son, Michael J. St.Onge, who resided with him in Newport; by two sisters, Laura St.Onge and RoseclairBouthout, both of Omerville, Quebec; and by numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by five brothers: Amable, Gilbert, Leo, Maurice, and CheloSt.Onge; and by five sisters: AuroreLaPierre, Lena Delage, Rachel Blais, Rita Gingras, and Doris Lebel. He was employed for 23 years as a foreman at Buxton Box Company in Attleboro, Massachusetts. His hobbies included woodworking and fishing. Until moving to Vermont, he was a communicant of St. Mathieu Parish in Central Falls. He owned and operated his own farm in Holland for many years. He also worked for the town of Holland for over 50 years in various positions. He enjoyed photography. On August 19, 1944, he married Patricia Cushing, who survives him. He is survived by his daughters: Melody Ricard and her husband, Andy, of Derby Line, Penny Tice and her husband, Earl, of Holland, and Barbie Labonte and her husband, Albert, of Newport Center; by eight grandchildren; by 14 great-grandchildren; by one great-great-grandson; and by numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Phillips was born in Sharon on June 6, 1942, a daughter of Herbie S. and Florence (Phillips) Hill. She enjoyed visiting with her family and friends, drinking tea, listening to country music, and going for walks. She also enjoyed going camping in Swanton. Her laugh, her joyfulness, and her mischievous attitude will be sadly missed. She is survived by her husband, Richard Phillips, of New York; by five children: Shelby Cook and her husband, Wayne, of North Carolina, Kathy Clausen and her husband, Charles, of Derby Line, Charley Phillips of Newport, Rebbecca Phillips of New York, and Roxana Phillips of Newport; by ten grandchildren; by two great-grandchildren; by many nieces and nephews including Ann and Ray and their family, whom she greatly loved and lived with and who provided a quality of life for her. , 87, of Irasburg died Thursday, June 15, 2006, at home, surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Faggiani was born August 20, 1918, in Brooklyn, New York, a son of Frank Faggiani and Ellen (McNeill) Faggiani. He grew up in Long Island, New York, attending Floral Park-Bellrose School. He went on to receive his bachelor of arts degree from Hofstra University, majoring in English and theater and graduating with honors in 1940. After leaving Hofstra, he began his career, writing several short stories and a play. He was concurrently working in the retail industry for R.H. Macy and Company at Herald Square, New York City. During World War II, he went into the Army Air Force in May 1944, joining the American forces in Europe. He was trained for battle as a navigator, aerial observer, and aerial gunner. He flew in over 30 missions over occupied Europe, 19 of which as lead navigator. He flew in these air offensives in the front turret of B-24 bombers. He flew in battles and campaigns in the European Theater, Normandy, and Northern France Ardennes. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross Air Medal with five oak leaf clusters and the European African Middle Easter Theater Campaign Ribbon for his service in a huge air battle in the fall of 1944. Home from combat tour, he continued his military service at the Central Instructors School at Ellington Field, Texas, where he served as a navigator instructor. As a decorated military veteran, he was honorably discharged in the fall of 1945. Back in civilian life he became an actor and business manager of Houston Little Theatre in Texas. He loved acting but did not enjoy the business end of the theater, so he returned home to New York. During this time he worked in retail management and was awarded first place in Macy's Junior Executive Training Program. He continued working for Macy's while attending Columbia University, obtaining his master's degree in English, graduating in 1953. On April 10, 1955, he married the love of his life, Irene A. (Rzonca) Faggiani. They bought a home in Bayport, New York, where they raised their two children and shared teaching careers, love of literature, long walks, and summers at the family cottage at Cousin's Beach in Derby. He began teaching English at Bay Shore High School in Bay Shore, New York, where he taught for over 35 years. While teaching, he attended New York University and received his doctorate degree in education in 1971. He graduated with highest honors, receiving the Founder's Day Award for distinguished and outstanding scholarship. He was an expert in Shakespearean literature and passionate in his classroom teaching. Students, many of whom he kept in close contact with after his retirement from Bay Shore in 1988, respected and admired him. He also served for many years as advisor to the Maroon and White, Bay Shore High School's yearbook. In his early retirement, he taught English courses at Briarcliffe Business College in Patchogue, New York. After his wife, Irene, retired they moved to Irasburg to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Above all he loved his family. His grandsons were the lights of his life. He was a member of the Newport Country Club for decades. He was a diehard fan of the New York Giants football team, having season tickets for over 50 years. He closely followed New York Rangers hockey and New York Mets baseball. He enjoyed reading, visiting with his old friends, bike riding, kayaking on Lake Memphremagog, singing old songs, and spending time at the cottage. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Irene A. Faggiani; by his son Robert L. Faggiani and his wife, Linda, of Chesapeake, Virginia; by his daughter Kate Fletcher and her fiancé, Ed Whipple, of Coventry; by his two grandsons, Ryan A. Fletcher and Connor Fletcher of Coventry; by his brother-in-law Richard Rzonca and his wife, Joan, of Twin Lakes, Wisconsin; and by several cousins, nieces, nephews, and other relatives across the country. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 27, at the Albany Methodist Church with the Reverend Nathan Strong officiating. Interment will take place in the Coventry Cemetery. , 53, of Coventry, former owner of Martha's Diner, died at her home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, June 20, 2006, after a yearlong battle with cancer. Mrs. Royer was born in Holland on June 14, 1953, a daughter of Hubert J. and Beatrice (Todd) Jacobs. She was part owner and bookkeeper of Royer, Incorporated. She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Newport Alfred Pepin Post No. 798, American Legion Newport Post No. 21, and the Eagles Club. She enjoyed dancing, snowmobiling, and going to Foxwood Casino. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren, and enjoyed family, friends, and socializing. She loved Elvis Presley's music. On November 1, 1969, she married Larry Royer Sr., who survives her. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Newport Post No. 21 for 46 years and served as sergeant of arms for many, many years. She was a member of the Albany United Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing golf, fishing, traveling with her husband, and attending and working at functions at the Legion and the Elks, where her husband is a member. She was always ready to give a helping hand to friends, family, and her church. She was a teacher in the Dover public school system for many years. In September 1947 she married Leo H. Lavoie, who survives her. , 79, died peacefully in the early morning hours of June 25, 2006, with his loving wife, Agnes, by his side, following a courageous effort in life, after suffering three heart attacks in the weeks before his death. Mr. Fedele was born November 3, 1926, in Rochester, New York. He came to Newport with his parents, Cosmo and Marietta (Antetomaso)Fedele. He learned the family grocery business from the ground up. He attended the South School and Newport High School. With less-than-eager interest in schoolwork, there was something else that interested him more, the United States Navy. America had been the target for the Japanese with the attack on Pearl Harbor. He wanted to serve in the Navy. But first, because of the law, he had to get his father's permission. A veteran himself, his father recognized his son's eagerness to join the Navy. He served on the U.S.S. Hopewell and the U.S.S. Oakland. He was a member of St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church, Newport Elks Lodge No. 2155, Knights of Columbus Newport Gibbons Council No. 2285, American Legion Newport Post No. 21, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Alfred Pepin Post No. 798. On June 20, 1949, he married his hometown sweetheart, Agnes Gosselin. He is survived by his wife of 57 years; by his one daughter and five sons: Rosemary Kennedy and her husband, William, of Wilder, David and his wife, Peggy, of Newport, John Jr. and his wife, Joanne, of Newport Center, Dennis Fedele and his wife, Solange, of Phoenix, Arizona, Michael and his girlfriend, Lynn, of North Carolina, and Steve and his girlfriend, Tammie, of White River Junction; by nine grandchildren; by five great-grandchildren; by one brother, Cosmo, and his wife, Yvette, of Newport; by two sisters, Mary Chaffee and her husband, Ted, of Newport and Elizabeth Lemieux and her husband, Romeo, of Newport; by sister-in-law Martha Fedele of Newport; and by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. , 85, died June 21, 2006, in Island Pond. The Reverend Faustina was born in Mobile, Alabama, on August 29, 1920, a son of Gilbert and Susie (Ritter) Faustina. Father Faustina attended St. Michael's College in Colchester and Oxford University in England and began studying for the priesthood at St. Augustine's Seminary in Bay St. Louis with the Divine Word Fathers, transferring to the Immaculate Seminary in Burlington in 1934. He was ordained to the priesthood on April 12, 1947, at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Burlington by Bishop Scully of Albany, New York. He taught for two years at St. Edmund's Juniorate in Swanton and two years at Saint Michael's College in Colchester. He spent 34 years in pastoral service in the Diocese of Gallup, New Mexico, and the Diocese of Phoenix, Arizona, as pastor of Immaculate Heart of Mary in Page, Arizona, from September 1965 to April 1959, and as pastor of St. Joseph's Parish in Williams, Arizona, from October 1970 to September 1980. From November 1975 to March 1976 he was a founding father and the administrator for El CristoRey Parish in Grand Canyon, Arizona, His assignments included: 1964, dean of Winslow Deanery; 1965, appointed confessor to the Sisters in Page, Arizona; and 1973, appointed vicar of Flagstaff Vicariate for three years. On July 9, 1986, he was assigned as pastor at St. James in Island Pond and St. Bernard in Norton. He retired after eight years of pastorate and remained in Island Pond until his death. The Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated June 26 in St. James Catholic Church in Island Pond. The transfer of the body to the Church was held June 25. The Most Reverend Salvotore R. Matano, bishop of Burlington, was principal celebrant with his brothers in the priesthood concelebrating. Interment followed at St. James Catholic Cemetery in Island Pond. , 50, of Leesville, South Carolina, formerly of Newport, died in Ridgeway, South Carolina, on May 24, 2006. Mrs. Buckland was born in Sherbrooke, Quebec, on September 16, 1955, a daughter of Allan and Elizabeth "Betty" Bachelder. She worked as a licensed practical nurse at the Newport hospital and at various hospitals in Vermont. After moving to South Carolina, she worked at various nursing homes there. On June 3, 1978, she married Karl Buckland, who predeceased her. She is survived by her children Heather Buckland and Ryan Buckland, both of South Carolina; by her grandson David S. Wise of South Carolina; by her brother Blaine Bachelder of South Carolina; by her sisters Sheryl Smith of South Carolina and Kathi Shaw of Stanstead, Quebec; and by her stepfather, Wendell Lorimer. She was predeceased by her parents. A graveside service was held June 22 at Pine Grove Cemetery in Newport with the Reverend John Keenan officiating. Interment followed.

, 51, of Brownington died in Newport on Thursday, June 22, 2006. Mrs. Brunelle was born in November 2, 1954, in Newport, a daughter of Florian and Janine (Houston) Robillard. She worked at Vermont Teddy Bear Company. She enjoyed riding her horse Cricket. She liked to sew and take pictures of the outdoors, much to her and her family's enjoyment. She also enjoyed skiing at the local ski areas. On August 2, 1973, she married Armand Brunelle, who survives her. She is survived by her children Gabriel Brunelle and Adam Brunelle, both of Brownington; by her granddaughter Erin Brunelle of Brownington; by her parents, Florian and Janine Robillard, of Brownington; by her sister Jane Robillard of Newport; by her niece Heather Alston of Troy; and by several aunts and uncles. She was predeceased by her brother Rene. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated June 27 at St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Orleans with the Reverend Daniel Rupp officiating. Interment followed at the Brownington Center Cemetery. , 85, of Newport died peacefully June 23, 2006, in Newport. Mr. Boucher was born February 7, 1921, in Newport Town, a son of Albert and Emeline (Mossa) Boucher. On October 5, 1946, he married Florence Knowles, who survives him. He was a machinist with Union Butterfield's and later Tivoly in Derby Line from which he retired in 1984. He held membership with the Newport Elks Club. He enjoyed sports and gardening, and he loved his dog Tanner. He is survived by his wife, Florence Boucher, of Newport; by two sons, Dean Boucher and his fiancée, Bonnie Norway, of Derby and Ron Boucher and his friend, Nancy Carter, of Newport; by three grandchildren: Emily, Meghan, and Kayla Boucher; and by Carol Boucher of Derby. He was predeceased by two brothers, Eugene and Roland Boucher; and by a sister, Irene Brow. A graveside service was held June 28 at the Derby Cemetery with the Reverend Philip Branon officiating. , 88, of Stamford, Connecticut, and a former resident of Darien, Connecticut, died Thursday, June 22, 2006, at the Richard Rosenthal Hospice Residence in Stamford. Born July 10, 1917, in Ithaca, New York, Mr. Barker was a son of the late Elmer E. and Edna L.S. Barker. He graduated from Cornell University with a bachelor of science degree. He served with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers during World War II. He fought in North Africa and Italy and was awarded the Purple Heart, the Bronze Star, and the Distinguished Service Cross. He worked as a marketing executive and as a management consultant. He was owner and director of Packaging Strategy Associates and Marketing Strategy Associates. He was a former member of various professional associations and various veterans' associations, the Military Order of the Purple Heart, Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion, and the Disabled American Veterans. He is survived by his wife, Ann S. Barker, of Stamford; by his son the Reverend Fredrick T. Barker of Derby Center; by two grandchildren; by one brother, Thomas G. Barker, of San Diego, California; and by one sister, Mary B. Weiss, of Chevy Chase, Maryland. He was predeceased by two brothers, E. Gilbert and Robert Barker. , 82, of Eden died peacefully Wednesday, June 21, 2006, at Copley Hospital in Morrisville. Mrs. Pudvah was born August 1, 1923, in Lowell, a daughter of Henry and Agnes GuyettePudvah. Following graduation from Johnson Normal School, she taught for 46 years at Lowell Graded School, teaching first and second grade. She enjoyed working in her vegetable and flower gardens. She attended St. Gabriel's Church in Eden. She is survived by her longtime friend and companion, Thelma Huntley, of Eden; by sister-in-law Matilda Pudvah of North Troy; by nieces: Nancy Baker and her companion, David Campbell, of Derby, Cherie Descheneau and her husband, Hector, of North Troy, and Tammy Desautels and her husband, Rene, of North Troy; and by her great-nieces and -nephews: Michelle Gosselin, Marc Poutre, Matthew Poutre, Christopher Descheneau, Jeremy Descheneau, Adam Desautels, and Lynn Desautels. She was predeceased by her parents; by two brothers, Merle Pudvah and Howard Pudvah; and by a sister, Arlene Pudvah. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated June 26 at St. Gabriel's Church in Eden. Interment will be in Eden Corners Cemetery.
