, 43, of Greensboro died unexpectedly on Saturday, December 2, 2006, at the Copley Hospital in Morrisville. Mrs. Young was born May 25, 1963, in Morrisville, a daughter of Cedric and Charlene (Quinn) Camley. She attended Pueblo, Colorado, public schools. On October 21, 2001, she married Scott Aaron Young in Greensboro. She had been employed as a cook at Genesis Elder Care nursing home in Morrisville and the Greensboro Nursing Home. She enjoyed crafts, animals, especially rabbits, gardening, flowers, and plants. Survivors include her husband, Scott, of Greensboro; her mother, Charlene Black, of Hardwick; her daughter Hilary Whitaker of Morrisville; her son Eric Trombly of Marshfield; two stepchildren, S. Aaron Young and Robert Young of Greensboro; two grandchildren, Julian Trombly-Whitaker of Morrisville and Alex Trombly of Marshfield; two sisters, Serena Eldred of Orleans and Kimberly Demar of Boise, Idaho; her maternal grandmother, Delores Booth, of Williston; her father-in-law, George Young, and mother-in-law, Beverly Young, both of Greensboro; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by a son, Taurean Camley; by her father, Cedric Camley; and by two grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 7, at 11 a.m. at the Hope Community Church in South Walden with the Reverend Ernest Machia officiating.

After having enjoyed a long and well-lived life, dedicated to God and filled with many blessings, Mrs. Very died November 11, 2006, at age 89. She was predeceased by her daughter Patricia Very; and by her grandson Sean Chamberlain. She is survived by her children: Fredrica Very of Barton, Mark Very of Pensacola, Florida, and Sharon Chamberlain of Bossier City. She leaves behind a host of friends at the Bossier Senior Center and Faith Temple Assembly Church, who were as dear to her as family.

, 89, of Derby died in Newport on Friday, December 1, 2006. Mrs. Roberts was born January 13, 1917, in Lowell, a daughter of Sternie and Myrtle (Hoadley) Pope. She moved here from New Jersey in 1987. She is survived by her granddaughter Susie of Derby; by her sister Lillian Baraw and her husband, Burton, of Newport Center; by her sister-in-law Isabelle Roberts of Orleans; and by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sons Robert Linquist and Brian Roberts; by her brother Kenneth; and by her sisters Eleanor and Kathrine. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 7, at the Mountainview Cemetery in Lowell at 10 a.m. with the Reverend Roger Fletcher officiating. Interment will follow.

, 70, of Newport died in Newport on Wednesday, November 29, 2006. Mr. LeRoy was born in New York City, New York, on September 30, 1936, a son of Harry and Anna (Clifford) LeRoy. He was a graduate of the Bronx, New York, high school and did demolition work in Waterbury, Connecticut, for many years. He was a member of the Association of the Blind and Visually Impaired in Newport, where he was known as "Big Bad Bill." He enjoyed fishing, swimming, playing cards and dominos, reading, and listening to his book stories. On December 3, 1955, he married Marie Lahommedieu, who survives him. He is survived by his children: Donna Marie LeRoy of Waterbury, Michael LeRoy of Waterbury, Diane Cassidy and her husband, Wade, of Waterbury, Kathleen Balcom and her husband, Joseph, of Newport, James LeRoy and his wife, Ethel, of Waterbury, and Anne Marie LeRoy of Waterbury; by his sisters Loretta McKringle of Vermont and Carol LeRoy of Long Island, New York; by 14 grandchildren; and by one great-grandchild. He was predeceased by his grandson Jerry Meissau. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated December 4 at St. Mary's Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Newport with the Reverend Yvon Royer officiating. Spring interment will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery in Newport. Sister Marie-Catherine (Marthe A.) Lavallée

, 83, died Wednesday, November 29, 2006, at the Benedictine Monastery of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Westfield. Sister Marie-Catherine was born July 25, 1923, in Katevale, Quebec, a daughter of Anne Marie Tremblay Lavallée and Evarist Lavallée. She entered the Abbaye of Ste-Marie desDeuxMontagnes in St-Eustache, Quebec, in 1952 and professed vows there in 1954. In 1983 she was sent to help the foundation of the Monastery of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Westfield, where she remained until her death. Among many other duties, she served as directress of the monastery's secular oblates. She is survived by a brother, Father GermainLavallée; by two sisters, Sister Madeleine Lavallée and Lucie Boisvert; and by beloved nieces. The Funeral Mass was offered November 30 in the monastery chapel. Burial will be in the monastery cemetery.

, 64, of Island Pond died peacefully December 1, 2006, in Newport. Mrs. Gray was born May 20, 1942, in Island Pond, a daughter of Joseph and Bernice (Bingham) Daniels. On September 15, 1962, she married Earl Gray, who survives her. She lived all of her life in Island Pond. She was head teller for the Community National Bank in Island Pond. She was treasurer of the Island Pond Historical Society for many years. She was a member of the Home Dem Club, and she was a former den mother for Boy Scouts. She is survived by her husband, Earl Gray, of Island Pond; by a sister, Helen Corliss, of Island Pond; by brothers- and sisters-in-law: Marilyn Wade of Island Pond, William and Gleigh Heath of Island Pond, Anna Johnson of Orleans, Patty Gray of St. Johnsbury, Charlotte Gunn of Island Pond, Virginia and Alan Wing of Island Pond, Gunda Gray of Danville, and Niles and Monique Gray of Island Pond; by several nieces and nephews; by a good friend, Marilyn Page, of Island Pond. She was predeceased by a her father, Joseph Daniels, in 1962; by her mother, Bernice Bingham Daniels, in 1980; and by brothers-in-law: Glenn Gray, Robert Gunn, Robert Johnson, and Joseph Wade. , 82, of Derby died in Newport on Sunday, December 3, 2006. Mr. Fox was born on December 12, 1923, in West Charleston, a son of Charles Erwin and Eva Priscilla (Norris) Fox. He was a 1941 graduate from and salutatorian of his class at Newport High School. He was a proud member of the basketball team. He served in the U.S. Army and participated on D-Day during World War II. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge, becoming a sergeant before being honorably discharged. He first worked at the Hamblett Bakery in Newport. He then worked as a foreman for Buttlerfield Union Twist until his retirement and built houses with Gordy Austin on the side. He was a very civic-minded man. He was a member of Newport Memphremagog Lodge No. 65 of Free and Accepted Masons and Newport Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks No. 2155. He was involved with the Fourth of July celebration in Derby. He was a member of American Legion Brighton Post No. 80. He served on the Derby Cemetery Commission, the Derby Planning Commission, and the Holland Historical Society. He was a competitive member of the Derby and Barton bowling leagues. He enjoyed gardening, refinishing antiques, and fishing and had a passion for the "lucky dice" 36 coupe. He was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. On August 16, 1952, he married Janice Worth, who predeceased him in 1986. He is survived by his children: Dennis H. Perkins and his wife, Donna, of Derby Line, Debra Fox Jorgensen of Phoenix, Arizona, and Bradley Fox of Derby; by his grandchildren: Shawn Perkins of Florida, Canyon Jorgensen of Phoenix, and Kady Jorgensen of Phoenix; by his sister Caroline Hopkinson of Tocoma Park, Maryland; by Phil and William Armstrong; and by the Stone and Worth families and their extended families. He was predeceased by his sisters: Ruth Buck, Catherine Bandfield, and Doris Tetreault. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 8, at the Curtis-Britch Converse-Rushford Memorial Chapel on Lake Road in Newport at 2 p.m. with the Reverend Fred Barker officiating. Full military honors will be held at the funeral home. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of the service on Friday. A luncheon will follow at the American Legion in Newport. Spring interment will take place at the Mead Hill Cemetery in Holland. , 101, died peacefully November 28, 2006, at the BelAire Quality Care Nursing Center in Newport. Mrs. Farley was born April 26, 1905, in the Bronx, New York, a daughter of John and Mae (Schmidtmayer) Pirner. She married Charles Gordon Farley of England on October 20, 1926, in the Madison Avenue Presbyterian Church in New York City. They made their home in New York City and White Plains, New York. She loved gardening, reading, legitimate theater, opera, bridge, and world travel. She was a member of the White Plains Garden Club, the Westchester Garden Club, two bridge clubs, Business and Professional Women's Club, and the Republican Women's Club. She was very active for many years in the First Presbyterian Church of White Plains until she moved to Vermont in 1995 to be near her daughter. She was predeceased by her husband; by her parents; and by a brother. She is survived by her daughter Michelle Wilson of Irasburg; and by grandson Randy Gordon Smith of Irasburg. Interment will be in the Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale, New York.

, 88, of Craftsbury Common died Wednesday, November 29, 2006, at Greensboro Nursing Home. Ms. Dustan was born in Craftsbury Common on January 12, 1918, a daughter of William L. and Helen (Paterson) Dustan. She was a 1936 graduate of Craftsbury Academy and received her bachelor of science degree from the University of Vermont in 1940. She went on to earn a master of nursing degree in 1943 from the Western Reserve University School of Nursing in Cleveland, Ohio, and a doctorate in higher education in 1963 from the University of California at Berkley. Among her many professional experiences, she was a professor and dean at the college of nursing at the University of Iowa in Iowa City from 1964 to 1972, the assistant commissioner of health for nursing services at the New York State Department of Health in Albany from 1972 to 1975, and a professor and dean at the Intercollegiate Center for Nursing Education in Spokane, Washington, from 1975 to 1982, from which she retired and was held in high regard as a professor and dean emeritus. Among many distictions and accolades, she earned a Phi Beta Kappa National Honor Society award and an honorary doctorate of science degree in 1972 from the University of Vermont. She was a dedicated and respected member of the Craftsbury community. She made a difference in her community both here and wherever she was living and working throughout her life. She served as a member of the Craftsbury Academy Trustees for many years, was a life member of the United Church of Craftsbury and past member of its board of trustees, and a member of the Searchlight Club and the Ladies Union. She had served on the board for Northern Counties Health Care and the Greensboro Nursing Home. She leaves a sister, Louisa Dustan Levine, of Craftsbury Common; a nephew, Charles Levine, of Redlands, California; a niece, Laura Noble, of Cleveland; two grand-nieces; two grand-nephews; and several cousins. She was predeceased by three sisters: Augusta Dustan, Ellen Dustan Grizzle, and Dr. Harriet Dustan. A memorial service was held December 2 at the United Church of Craftsbury in Craftsbury Common, with the Reverend Neil Carr officiating. , 94, a lifelong Vermonter, died Sunday, December 3, 2006, in Newport. Mrs. Christensen was born in Holland on April 10, 1912, a daughter of Charles H. and Edith (Averill) Bennett. On October 4, 1935, she married Peter C. Christiansen in Holland. He predeceased her on July 1, 1997. Previous to this union she had a brief marriage to Carroll Wood. She and her husband were farmers for many years in Derby. She grew up a member of the West Holland Congregational Church and for several years was organist and a member of the choir. She later transferred her membership to the Derby United Church where she served as president of the Women's Social Union for several years. While in this position she organized the Fourth of July fair to raise money for the fellowship hall and was chairman of the fair for seven years. She was an American Red Cross volunteer for 37 years. She was a member of the Wide Awake Rebecca Lodge for many years. She was treasurer for 48 years and served as district deputy president for three terms. As a Rebecca she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Patriarchs Militant of Vermont-Quebec and was a national delegate in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She was a member of the Lakeside Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was secretary for 31 years, became a past matron, and was elected grand representative to Tennessee. Survivors include her son Charles Christiansen and his wife, Sue, of Berlin; her daughters Carolyn Harris of St. Johnsbury and Helen Roy of South Burlington; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter Virginia Fraser; and by her siblings: Charles, Cecil, Nelson, Alma, Doris, and Lawrence. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 8, at the Curtis-Britch Converse-Rushford Funeral Home on Darling Hill Road in Newport at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Fred and Carol Ann Barker and the Reverend John Genco officiating. Spring interment will take place at the Derby Center Cemetery. , 67, of Newport died at her home on Tuesday, November 28, 2006. Ms. Cheney was born December 12, 1938, in Newport, a daughter of Nelson and Hazel (Morin) Cheney. She was a beautician for 50 years and owned and operated Pat's Beauty Shop on Lane Avenue in Newport. In later years she worked part-time at Newport Health Care and Rehabilitation Center doing haircuts and perms for senior citizens. She was a member of St. Mary's Star of the Sea Catholic Church and St. Mary's Parish Council and was a Eucharistic minister. She enjoyed cooking meals for the priests at St. Mary's and loved her dog Sunday. She is survived by her aunts Mildred Dean of Newport and Gertrude Fontaine and her husband, Lawrence, of Derby; by her special friends: Father William Giroux of Burlington, Ron Giroux of Burlington, Father Leo Bilodeau of Barre, and Mary and Jeff Price and their family of Derby; and by many cousins. She was predeceased by her parents; and by her sister Linda Cheney. A Memorial Mass was celebrated December 2 at St. Mary's Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Newport with the Reverend William Giroux officiating and concelebrated by the Reverend Yvon Royer and the Reverend Leo Bilodeau.
