, 70, of 202 Lake Tarleton Road, Warren, N.H., died, Friday, Dec. 23, 2005, at Cottage Hospital in Woodsville, N.H., following a long illness. He was born in Haverhill, N.H., on March 18, 1935, and was the son of George Herbert and Ruth "Billie" (Edmunds) Cate. He graduated from Lisbon High School in 1953. Lloyd retired in 1979 after 22 years with the National Guard Battery C in Littleton. For the past 29 years he has been a self-employed dairy farmer in Warren. In 1976 he moved to Warren from Landaff, N.H. He was a 4-H leader; formerly served on the Landaff School Board; member of the New Hampshire and New England Milking Shorthorn Societies of which he was former president; former president of the PDCA; and a member of the National Dairy Shrine. He was an accomplished Dairy Showman and he originated the Cate Farm prefix for his Red Cattle, which has resulted in numerous National Recognitions. One of his greatest joys was watching his children, grandchildren and special friends show and win many cattle show contests. He especially enjoyed music and gatherings with his friends to listen to his family bands play. Surviving relatives include his wife of 40 years, Anita (Butson) Cate of Warren, N.H.; four sons, Timothy B. Cate of Haverhill, N.H., Christopher S. Cate of Lyman, N.H., Nicolas L. Cate of Woodstock, N.H., and Peter J. Cate of Warren, N.H.; two daughters, Holly J. Cate of Hood River, Ore., and Sarah J. Stark of Warren, N.H.; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Douglas Cate of Bath, N.H., and Duane Cate of Monroe, N.H.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. There will be no public calling hours. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2005, at Ricker Funeral Home, Birch Street, Woodsville, N.H., at 1 p.m. Burial will be in the Landaff Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Frederick C. Dolch

, of Monroe, N.H., formerly of Teaneck, N.J., died Friday, Dec. 23, 2005, at Cottage Hospital in Woodsville, N.H., at the age of 88. He was born in New York City Aug. 6, 1917, the son of Herman and Caroline (Fricke) Dolch. Mr. Dolch served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army, serving in North Africa and Sicily. He was manager for the Sealtest Company in Teaneck, N.J., for 18 years, and later owned and operated United Auto Body in Palisades Park, N.J. Frederick will be remembered for being one of the founders of the Teaneck Volunteer Ambulance and for his work on the Teaneck Re-Development Agency. In 1982, he retired and moved to Monroe with his wife of 64 years, Esther (Myhren) Dolch, who survives him in Monroe. His greatest passion in Monroe was his very extensive vegetable garden. Survivors also include two children, Frederick and his wife Carol Dolch of Teaneck, N.J., and Elaine Gail and her husband Stephen Pacholek of Passumpsic, Vt.; a brother, Daniel Dolch of Salisbury, Md.; four grandchildren, David Frederick Dolch and his wife Kerri Lynn, Stephen Christopher Pacholek and his wife Jennifer, Brian William Dolch and his wife Jennifer, and Lauren Elaine (Pacholek) Morse and her husband Spencer; four great-grandchildren, Caitlin Dolch, Mackenzie Dolch, Caitlin Morse and Liza Morse; and three nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Linda C. Dolch, in 1950. Funeral services will be held at the Sayles Funeral Home on Thursday, Dec. 29, 2005, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. James Llewellyn officiating. Friends are invited to meet the family one hour prior to the service. Spring burial will be in the North Monroe Cemetery.

, 93, of Walden, died Saturday, Dec. 24, 2005, at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital in St. Johnsbury. He was born July 26, 1912, in Walden, the son of the late Merton and Jane (Gamble) Davidson. He attended Walden public schools. On July 27, 1939, he married Leona Mae Potter in St. Johnsbury. He was employed for several years in the construction business and was a mechanic for Guy Hall in Hardwick. He owned and operated the Davidson ESSO filling station on Wolcott Street in Hardwick. In 1949, he relocated his business to Route 15 in Walden where he worked for seven years. He constructed and sold homes in Walden, as well as logging and trucking pulp for more than 15 years. He purchased and operated a dairy farm in Walden, which he later sold to his daughter and son-in-law. He was employed by the town of Walden on their road crew. He retired in 1977. Cub enjoyed the outdoors, trapping, woodworking, repairing furniture and operating heavy equipment. Other enjoyments included reading, watching television, telling stories, visiting with friends, country and western music and playing the guitar. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Leona; a daughter, Alberta Cochran and her husband Melvin of Eden; two grandchildren, Wanda Cochran of Hyde Park and James Cochran Sr. and his wife Leisa of Eden; six great-grandchildren, James Cochran Jr., Jeremy Cochran and Joseph Cochran, all of Eden, Adam Poulin and Christopher Poulin, both of Newmarket, N.H., and Heather McFarlane of Hyde Park; and a niece and a nephew. He was predeceased by three siblings, an infant brother, George Davidson, and Maydene Chamberlain. There will be no visiting hours. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Dec. 29, 2005, at 1 p.m., at the Walden United Methodist Church with the Rev. Carol Borland, supervising church pastor, officiating. , died accidentally at Neal's Pond in Lunenburg Thursday, Dec. 22, 2005, at the age of 32. His family reflects that Tiger "always liked the action." He served actively in the Marines for four years and would like to have been called to serve in Desert Storm. Tiger had a zest for life and liked to make people around him happy. Roland and Lisa Joslin were married June 1, 2002. He was a good Daddy to his son Gavin, enjoyed working around home, and loved the outdoors and sports, especially the Red Sox. He worked at Lyndon Woodworking until three months ago when he joined the work force at Dirigo Paper Co. in Gilman. He was part of the Gilman/Lunenburg group "Citizens for Change" and was a member of the Essex Co. (Gilman) Reparative Board. He was born in New Britain, Conn., on July 7, 1973, the son of Roland Sr. and Judy (Coty) Dufour. He graduated from Lyndon Institute in 1991. His father predeceased him on Sept. 4, 1993. He and Lisa's first son, Logan, died at birth Aug. 26, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Lisa Joslin Dufour, and their 21/2-year-old son, Gavin, of Lunenburg (P.O. Box 186 Gilman VT 05904); his mother and stepfather, Judy and Jerry Fenoff of St. Johnsbury (1211 Mt. Pisgah Rd. 05819); his father- and mother-in-law, Reginald and Kathleen Joslin of East Concord (147 Joslin Dr. 05906); maternal grandparents, Maurice and Jeannette Coty of Mattawamkeag, Maine; maternal great-grandmother, Ida Paradis of Caribou, Maine; sister-in-law, Kelly Wilkins and her husband Jeff of North Concord; two stepbrothers, Chris Fenoff and his wife Holli of Sheffield, and Jerry Fenoff and his wife Tina of North Concord; one stepsister, Tina White and her husband Artie of Lyndonville; his childhood friend and best man, Scott Brooks and his wife Jennifer of Newark; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was most recently a truck driver. He enjoyed snowmobiling, outdoor cookouts, and being surrounded by family and friends, especially the children. , 57, of West Thomas Road, Lunenburg, died Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2005, at Weeks Medical Center, Lancaster, N.H. Mrs. McFarland was born in Lancaster on Oct. 27, 1948, the daughter of Arthur R. and Mildred (Fuller) Beaton. Sheila was a long-time resident of Lancaster and formerly lived on South Lancaster Road. For many years she was employed at Rite Aid and the former Laverdiers in Lancaster. For a time she worked at Ames department store in Groveton. In 2000 she moved with her husband to Lunenburg. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed activities such as watching her grandsons race in Woodstock. She was well-known for helping others in many capacities and was a Vermont foster care mother. Many of her interests included camping, deep-sea fishing, animals, crocheting, knitting, crafts, and for many years she enjoyed bowling at Babe Smith's Lancaster Bowling Lanes. She was a former member of the Lancaster VFW Auxiliary. Family members include her husband, Edward S. McFarland Sr. of Lunenburg; two sons, Edward S. McFarland Jr. of Lancaster, and Jeremy McFarland of Lancaster; a daughter, Tammy Burt of Lunenburg; a brother, Arthur Beaton Jr. of Groveton; two sisters, Judi Donnelly of Lancaster, and Tanya Batchelder of Lancaster; two grandsons; two granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held Friday, Dec. 30, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A funeral service will follow immediately after at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Henry Cheney, pastor of the Methodist Churches of East Concord, Gilman and Lunenburg, will officiate. Burial will be in the spring in Riverside Cemetery, South Lunenburg.

, 84, of West Burke, passed away at her family's home on Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2005. She was born in Orleans on July 31, 1921, the daughter of Elmer and Anna (Greene) Hoadley. On March 7, 1942, Estella married Warren Bickford, who predeceased her in 1990. She worked at Orleans County Memorial Hospital and at Pratt & Whitney in Hartford, Conn., and then worked the family farm with her husband in Newport Center. Estella was well-known for her beautiful craft and sewing projects throughout the past years. Many of these projects won prizes at local fairs. Her favorite "special times" were spent during family gatherings, especially with her grandchildren. Her other greatest love was for birds. She spent many hours watching them at feeders from her window. Estella is survived by her daughters, Nancy Aiken and her husband Ronald, and Joyce Bickford, all of West Burke; her grandchildren, Patricia Powers and her husband Tom, and Ronald Aiken Jr. and his wife Melissa; her great-grandchildren, Nicholas Powers, Amber Powers, Nathan Powers, Curtis Powers, Jeremiah Aiken and Anna Aiken; her sister, Evelyn White of Los Alemos, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Gordon, Harold, Harlan, Orrel, Dorothy, Arlene, Gwen, Alice and Hazel. , 73, of Weirsdale, Fla., and Lake Wallace, Vt., passed away Monday, Dec. 26, 2005, at the Shands Medical Center in Gainesville, Fla., following a brief illness. Mrs. Fisher was born Feb. 11, 1932, in Newton, Mass., the daughter of Albert and Julia (Marshall) Vohar. She graduated second in her class from Colebrook Academy in 1950 and married James "Sonny" Fisher in 1952. While residing in Canaan, Vt., she served as the office manager from 1969-1989 at the Cos < caron > s County Nursing Home in Stewartstown. In 1989, she and her husband retired to Weirsdale, Fla. Mrs. Fisher loved hula and belly dancing, working on her crafts, and being with her friends in the Red Hat Society, as well as spending time with her family. She will be forever remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post and past president of Unit 47 in Canaan, Vt., and the first district president, as well as a member of many organizations at her winter home in Florida. Mrs. Fisher is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, James "Sonny" Fisher of Weirsdale, Fla., and Lake Wallace, Vt.; two daughters, Susan Rice and her husband Robert of Canaan, Vt., and Jamie Crawford and her husband Millard of Colebrook; five grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter and a stepgreat-granddaughter. , 86, of Proctor, Vt., died Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2005, at his home. He was born Nov. 13, 1919, in Groton, Vt., the son of Harry T. and Bessie Alice (Blanchard) Morrison. Mr. Morrison graduated from Groton High School and Norwich University. He married Ruth Taylor in Orlando, Fla., March 22, 1942. Mr. Morrison worked as an electrical engineer for over 30 years at Central Vermont Public Service Corporation. He was an avid reader and loved music. He had an extensive collection of 78-speed records and books, and spent countless hours recording music for his friends. Mr. Morrison was a member of the Union Church of Proctor and the Sutherland Falls F & AM 108 of Proctor. Survivors include his wife, Ruth (Taylor) Morrison of Proctor; a daughter, Patricia Doscinski of Groton, Vt.; a son, Harry Morrison of Lyndonville, Vt.; six grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; and one great-grandson. He was predeceased by a son, Bruce Austin Morrison, Jan. 13, 1968. There will be no calling hours. , 93, a Lyndonville resident, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2005, at the St. Johnsbury Health and Rehab Center following a lengthy illness. Born in Lyndonville Aug. 11, 1912, to Zodique and Alfonsine (Ouellette) Charron, she married John Nelson Pillsbury on March 3, 1949. He preceded her in death Aug. 4, 1994. Pap was a homemaker. She loved to cook for her family, knitting, crafts and crossword puzzles. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 10038, Lyndonville. Pap is survived by a son, Francis Pillsbury and his wife Penny, a grandson, Tim Pillsbury and his partner Misty Bessette, all of Lyndonville; three great-grandchildren, Emma, Bryce and Nevaeh; and a sister, Pauline Strizzi and her husband George of Vero Beach, Fla. She was predeceased by her parents; 10 brothers; and two sisters. Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 30, at 11 a.m.

, 52, of Colchester, Vt., died peacefully, Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2005, surrounded by her loving family at the Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington following a 14-month struggle with cancer. Jill was born in St. Johnsbury on April 5, 1953, the daughter of Russell and Jean (Raymond) Lund. Jill graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy in 1972 and from Champlain College in Burlington in 1974. On June 15, 1974, Jill married Robert A. Harkins in the Newman Center on the campus of the University of Vermont. Jill had been employed with GMAC for 22 years in the accounting department and was currently employed with Hampton Direct in Williston. As a family and with friends, we have been fortunate enough to share many happy and loving memories. Family trips, vacations, hours of sailing, hiking, camping, climbing, and times that you and I spent alone. Looking at your beauty, your smile and knowing you were always there to help others, seldom ever thinking of requesting someone to help you. Never complaining. You are already missed and will always remain in our hearts and thoughts. Being with us always, letting us know right from wrong. We will be sure Tucker knows his loving grandmother. Jill is survived by her husband of 32 years, Bob of Colchester; their three children, Heather Murdough and her husband Kevin II and their son Tucker Cameron of Essex Jct., Justin C. , MD, died Dec. 27, 2005, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Valerie was born Jan. 21, 1965, in Framingham, Mass. Growing up Valerie enjoyed competitive swimming, cheerleading, and track and field. She had a deep love for horses and riding. Valerie was a voracious reader and an exceptional student who was a member of the National Honor Society. She graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst with a BS in biochemistry and a BA in economics. After working in the mental health field for several years, Valerie pursued the study of medicine at Boston University. She earned a master's degree in 1995 and doctor of medicine degree in 1999. In 2002, after completing her residency at the University of Vermont in rural pediatric medicine, she joined Plymouth Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine as a pediatrician. During her brief tenure as a physician in the Plymouth community, Valerie touched many lives. Valerie married Ken Little in 1998. They had two beautiful boys whom she cherished and adored. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth H. Little Jr.; two sons, Jake and Braden; mother, Jean of Landaff, N.H.; and sisters, Beth of Scituate, Mass., and Bronwyn of Franconia, N.H. The memorial service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 31, 2005, at 11 a.m., at the Plymouth United Church of Christ in Plymouth, N.H. A reception will be held immediately following the service in the church hall. Richard Perkins

, also known as "Rick" or "Ricky," of Ryegate, Vt., passed away Dec. 27, 2005, at his home in Ryegate at the age of 47. He was born Dec. 31, 1957, in St. Johnsbury, Vt., son of Gordon and Arlene (Barnes) Perkins. He graduated from Blue Mtn. Union High School in 1975 and married Phyllis Ottati. They lived in Ryegate where he farmed the home farm. They then moved to Danville where he worked on Kenneth Wards Farm, then on to Sutton where he worked on Joe and Stanley Weed's Farm. He then left farming to deliver gas for several local companies. Their only child, Brittney, was born in 1987. In 1999 Rick and Phyllis were sadly divorced but remained good friends. Rick then moved back to the family homestead in Ryegate where he built his own home. Rick worked for local farmers, did part-time carpentry for Glaude Builders, and worked with his brother, Darryl, sawing lumber and logging. He was also self-employed doing various jobs. Rick's greatest joys were living close to nature, gardening, caring for his animals, hunting, fishing, and being surrounded by his family and friends. He was very much loved and will be greatly missed. Over the years Rick was active in the FFA and POST where he served as president in both organizations. He was also a volunteer firefighter. Survivors include his daughter, Brittney Perkins of St. Johnsbury; his ex-wife, Phyllis Perkins of Sutton; his mother, Arlene (Perkins) Eastman, of Ryegate Corner, and his stepfather, Carroll Eastman, of Ryegate Corner; two brothers, Gene Perkins and his wife Nancy of Ryegate Corner, and Darryl Perkins and his wife Dottie of Ryegate Corner; two sisters, Laura Clark and her husband John of Williamstown, and Linda Leonard and her husband Daniel of Ryegate Corner; as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. He was predeceased by his infant brother, Gordon D. Perkins, Jr.; his father, Gordon David Perkins; and a nephew, Jeffery G. Leonard. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 31, 2005, on his 48th birthday, at the Ryegate Corner Presbyterian Church at 1 p.m. There will be no visiting hours.
