, 28, of Alexandria, Va., passed away suddenly at his home in Alexandria. John was born on July 23, 1977, a son to Richard and Barbara (Smith) Langworthy in Lowell, Mass. He attended Chelmsford, Mass., public schools and graduated with the Class of 1995. John was a member of the National Honor Society and an AP Scholar of Distinction. He attended Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth programs and was an altar boy and communicant of St. Mary's Church. He also served as an altar boy at Our Lady of the Snows in Franconia, N.H. John was a graduate of Carnegie-Mellon University with both a bachelor's and master's in electrical and computer Engineering. At CMU he served as the president and librarian of the Vermillion Society. At the time of his death, he was a senior software engineer for Scientific Applications International Corporation (SAIC) and lived in Alexandria, Va. He was working on his doctorate at James Mason University and was a member of IEEE. In addition to his parents, Richard and Barbara Langworthy of Franconia, N.H., his brother, Paul, of Franconia, N.H., and West Palm Beach, Fla., also survives him. The family will receive friends on Friday evening, Sept. 16, 2005, from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Pillsbury Funeral Home, 101 Union Street, Littleton, N.H. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Sept. 17, at 12 p.m., at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Franconia, N.H., with the Rev. Fr. John Fleming as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery in Franconia. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John's memory to the Town of Chelmsford Scholarship Fund, P.O. Glenn E. Nelson Sr.

, age 95, of Littleton, N.H., passed away Sept. 14, 2005, at the Veterans Hospital in White River Junction, Vt. Glenn was born on June 16, 1910, a son to Carl Nelson Sr. and Stella (Huntoon) Nelson in Lisbon, N.H. He attended area schools and was a graduate of Dow Academy. Glenn served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was married to Lorraine (Archibald) Nelson in 1939. He was a truck driver for Brown and Churchill and was employed for many years by the Town of Franconia, N.H. He was a member of the American Legion Post 3 in Nashua. Glenn was an avid hunter and fisherman. Surviving family members include one son, Glenn E. "Bucky" Nelson Jr. of Littleton, N.H; three daughters, Glenda Shepard of Dalton, N.H, Dorothy Bouton of Middlebury, Vt., and Janice Stone of Bethlehem, N.H.; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. His wife, one daughter, one sister, and six brothers predeceased him. The family will receive friends on Monday, Sept. 19, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Pillsbury Funeral Home, 101 Union St., Littleton, N.H. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Lyn Winter officiating. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery in Franconia, N.H. , 83, a retired secretary and homemaker, passed away Friday, Sept. 16, 2005, in Rockledge, Fla. Her husband, Edward, preceded her in death in 1987. Mrs. Johnson was born in St. Johnsbury, Vt., on Nov. 29, 1921, and graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy. She worked with her husband Edward at Johnson Furniture Store in Mt. Jewett, Pa., from 1947 to 1958, then moved to Brevard County to work as a secretary for Rockwell International and Aeorojet General. She is survived by her sons, Ted Johnson of Poquoson, Va., and Brian Johnson of Rockledge, Fla.; daughter, Denise Benjamin of Orlando, Fla.; sister, Jean Lamothe of St. Johnsbury, Vt.; brother, Leo Descoteaux of Barnet, Vt.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 20, from 6-8 p.m., at the Wylie-Baxley Funeral Home on Rockledge, Fla. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, Sept. 21, at 10 a.m., with burial following at Florida Memorial Gardens, Rockledge.
Harriet M. Rogers

, 91, of Danville, Vt., passed away Sunday morning, Sept. 18, 2005, at the Helen Porter Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Middlebury. She was born Jan. 28, 1914, the daughter of Martin and Agnes McDonald of Danville. She attended grade school and high school in Danville. Harriet loved to travel. As a child she spent many summer days with relatives in Minnesota. Harriet was employed by the Caledonia National Bank in the 1930s, and was working the day that bank was robbed by a notorious gang whose members were later apprehended. She traveled to California to identify one of the robbers. She married Robert Rogers in 1944 and they ran a farm in Cabot until 1960 when they moved to Lyndonville. In 1963 they relocated to Harriet's hometown of Danville. Robert passed away in 1990, and she remained in Danville the rest of her life. Harriet enjoyed mystery novels, crosswords, card games and dinners out with friends. She was a regular at summer stock plays and loved traveling to Boston for theater, flower shows and sports. An avid Red Sox and Celtics fan, she kept running accounts of players and games. She was a lover of good conversation and an active member of church and community. Harriet devoted her live to her family. She was a loving wife, a dedicated mother, a compassionate mother-in-law, and perfect grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her sister, Martha McDonald Dole of Danville; her son, Jay Rogers and daughter-in-law Maureen of Vergennes; grandson, Rob Rogers of Shelburne; granddaughter, Heather Rogers Tremblay of Hinesburgh, and Heather's husband Roger and their son Ben; and many special relatives and friends. There will be a memorial service at the Congregational Church in Danville on Saturday, Sept. 24, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pope Memorial Library, which generously supplied Harriet with so many books over the years.

, 30, of Alexandria, N.H., died Saturday, Sept. 17, 2005, at the Speare Memorial Hospital in Plymouth, N.H., following an accident. He was born Sept. 21, 1974, in Claremont, N.H., the son of Ronald S. Olney Sr. and Sandra Wakefield DePecol. He attended Springfield, Vt., High School and had been employed as a sawyer for King Forest Industries in Wentworth, N.H., for the past five years. His many passions included football, hunting, playing golf, his motorcycle, and his general love of life and family. He is survived by his wife, Becky R. of Alexandria, N.H.; his mother, Sandra DePecol of Edgewater, Fla.; his father, Ronald S. Olney Sr. of Sutton, N.H.; his granddaughter, Starlyn Skye of Bristol, N.H.; his maternal grandmother, Vivienne Wakefield of Springfield, Vt.; his son, Ryan S. Olney of North Haverhill, N.H.; three daughters, Nicole L. Krizan and Becca Krizan, both of Alexandria, N.H., and Alexandrea Grover of Bristol, N.H.; his sister, Tammy L. George of North Haverhill, N.H.; two half-sisters, Jenny L. George and Carrie Ann Farnsworth of Windsor, Vt.; a stepsister, Danielle Lundbeck of San Francisco, Calif.; two half-brothers, Rick D. Tenney of Charlestown, N.H., and Jason Olney of Londonderry, Vt.; his stepbrother, Ben DePecol of Tampa, Fla.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. , 89, of Route 135, Dalton, N.H., passed away at the Week's Memorial Hospital, Lancaster, N.H., on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2005, following a brief illness. She was born in Dalton, and was a lifelong resident of that community. She was a former member of the Littleton Eagles Club, and the Order of the Moose, St. Johnsbury, Vt. She was a homemaker, and was an avid bingo enthusiast. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter, in 1991. She is survived by a son, Thomas Matthew of Chula Vista, Calif.; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Friends may call at the Ross Funeral Home, Whitefield Chapel, on Friday from 6-8 p.m. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the Cushman Cemetery, Dalton, N.H.

, 83, Lancaster, N.H., died Friday morning Sept. 23, 2005, at Country Village Health Care Center, Lancaster, after a long illness. Ms. Gibson was born in Lancaster on April 8, 1922, the daughter of George and Beatrice (Wheeler) Gibson. Martha was a lifetime resident of Lancaster, graduating from Lancaster Academy in 1940. For many years she was employed at PJ Noyes, Lancaster, and later worked 25 years at Sullivan Drug. She loved animals, the ocean, and driving to see places such as her favorite, Boothbay, Maine. Family members include two cousins, Mary Louise W. Almeida of Ludlow, Mass., and Stephen W. Wheeler of Newport Beach, Calif. She was predeceased by two brothers, Warren Gibson and Allan Gibson. There are no visiting hours. A funeral service will be held Monday, Sept. 26, at 9 a.m. at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A graveside committal service will be held at the convenience of the family in the Blue Mountain Cemetery, Ryegate, Vt. Kenneth "Ken" Merle Maynard

, of Cabot, Vt., died Saturday, Sept. 24, 2005, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H. He was 76 years old. He was born in Cabot on March 30, 1929, the son of Fred and Julia (Simon) Maynard. Ken had worked in the area for various construction companies and later for the Vermont Highway Department. As a pilot for many years, Ken loved airplanes and the thrill of flying. Back on the ground, he enjoyed playing his guitar. Survivors include his wife, Shirley (Kittredge) Maynard of Cabot; two brothers and their wives, Frederick and Betty Maynard of St. Johnsbury, and Martin and Freda Maynard of Danville; five sisters, Doris Houston of Cabot, Freda Leonard of West Danville, Peggy Montgomery of Montpelier, Theresa Remick of Danville, and Virginia and her husband Paul Decelle of Stowe; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Ernest, who dies during World War II, and Darcy; as well as a sister, Elizabeth Lackie. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. John the Evangelist Church, St. Johnsbury, Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2005, at 11 a.m. Burial services will be held at the Cabot Plains Cemetery at 2 p.m. Wednesday. There will be no visiting hours. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Danville Rescue Squad.

died peacefully at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center Sept. 22, 2005. Linda was born on Oct. 26, 1948. She was full of life and enjoyed crocheting beautiful blankets for her friends. She always enjoyed a good laugh. Her favorite pastime was rocking on the porch of the St. Johnsbury House. All her friends will miss her dearly. A memorial in her honor will be observed at the St. Johnsbury House on Tuesday, Sept. 27, at 1:30 p.m. All are welcome to attend.
