passed away Tuesday evening, Oct. 4, 2005, at the St. Johnsbury Health & Rehab Center where she had resided for the past year. She was born in St. Johnsbury on May 13, 1920, the daughter of William E. and Maude (Foran) Hayes. Margaret spent her life in St. Johnsbury. She worked as a waitress for many years and retired from W.T. Grant Co. She met A. Ray Kittredge in 1944 while he was convalescing from injuries received in World War II. They married on Dec. 3, 1946. Her husband, former St. Johnsbury chief of police, predeceased her on Feb. 17, 1993. She is survived by three children, Barbara Kittredge-Russell and her husband Mark, Sandra Coons and her husband Rick, and Bill Kittredge and his wife Debbie; her grandchildren, Todd, Victoria and Colin Russell, Kelly and Kari Kittredge, and Jesse, Nathanial, William, Eric and Michelle Kittredge; and her special great-granddaughter, Lilian James Kittredge; sister-in-law, Margaret Hayes of the St. Johnsbury Health & Rehab Center; and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Ronnie, two years ago on May 31; and by an infant daughter, Susan Rae; by brothers, George Hayes and Harry Hayes; and by sisters, Barbara Hayes, Marjorie Post and Pauline LaCroix. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at 11 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church. Burial will follow at Danville Green Cemetery. , 56, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2005, at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital. Born in South Fayston, Vt., June 13, 1949, he is the son of Ervin and Delemora (Brown) Griffith. Harold was a heavy equipment operator for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, carpentry and most of all his family. Harold is survived by six children, Benjamin of Lusby, Md., Zachary of Wheelock, Troy of Virginia Beach, Va., Stacy of Fairbanks, Alaska, Amanda of Watertown, Tenn., and Darcy of Lyndonville; parents, Ervin and Delemora of Lyndonville; brothers, Leigh of Burke, Bryan of Lyndonville, and Mike of Sheffield; sisters, Patricia Coffin of St. Johnsbury, and Rosalie Wilson of Lyndonville; and four grandchildren. Harold was predeceased by a brother, Howard "Butch"; and a sister, Theresa. Calling hours will be Sunday evening between the hours of 6-8 p.m. at the Pearsons Funeral Home, located at 70 Church St., Lyndonville. A memorial service will be held Monday, Oct. 10, at 11 a.m., at his home in Wheelock.

, 47, formerly of Littleton, N.H., died after a brief illness at the University of South Carolina Medical Center in Charleston, S.C., on July 23, 2004. She was born Oct. 30, 1957, in Portsmouth. She attended St. Patrick School in Portsmouth and graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Dover. She was active in school plays while at St. Thomas, having a natural singing voice and for several years took part in summer theatre presentations at Prescott Park in Portsmouth. She leaves her parents, Richmond P. and Geraldine C. Trainor of Bethlehem; a brother, Michael O'Traynor and his wife Alice of East Topsham, Vt.; and two sisters, Carol D. Houghton and her husband Larry of Lyman, and Kathleen M. McCosham and her husband Glen of Bethlehem; as well as many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 8, 2005, in St. Rose of Lima Church, Littleton, with the Rev. John Fleming officiating. Burial to follow immediately at St. Rose Cemetery.

, 87, of Landaff, N.H., passed away on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2005, at his residence. William was born on July 2, 1918, in Andover, Mass., a son of the late Alexander and Mary F. (Heberton) Ross. He graduated from high school in Andover. William served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a carpenter and for the 20 years prior to retirement, he was a firefighter for the town of Andover, Mass. William was an avid fisherman and enjoyed picking blueberries. William is survived by three children, Martha Kolifrath and her husband Dennis of Landaff, N.H., Nancy Kleynen and her husband Louis of Tewksbury, Mass., and Clifford Ross and his wife Elizabeth of Noble, Okla.; a nephew, Norman Wallace of Andover, Mass.; five grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. A brother, a sister, and a grandchild predeceased him. There will be no public calling hours and private family graveside services will be held at a later date. Elwin J. Austin

, age 96, a longtime Lyndonville resident, passed away Friday, Oct. 7, 2005, at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital. Born Jan. 31, 1909 in Stanstead, Quebec, Canada, he is the son of the late John and Grace (Bean) Austin. Elwin is a 1929 graduate of Lyndon Institute. He eloped and married Doris M. Lavely on May 5, 1930 in Barnet. He was self-employed as a truck driver for many years; he was also employed at Birchard Chevrolet in the parts department. He was an avid fisherman as this was his passion. He also enjoyed trapping, sports and repairing things. Elwin is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Doris, of Lyndonville; a daughter, Phyllis Hall, of Sebring, Fla.; two grandsons, Jeffrey Hall and Kevin Hall, both of Atlanta, Ga. There are no public calling hours and a private family memorial service will be held at a later date. He will be laid to rest in the Lyndon Center Cemetery. , age 55, of West Drew Street, Littleton, N.H., passed away on Thursday, Oct. 6, 2005, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon. Brenda was born on Feb. 12, 1950, a daughter to Henry and Muriel (Robinson) Lefevre, in St. Johnsbury, Vt. She attended area schools. Brenda was a lab technician at the Littleton Regional Hospital for over 30 years. Her mother, Muriel Lefevre of Littleton, N.H.; two sons, Chris Cass of Statesville, N.C., and Jesse Huntoon of Littleton, N.H.; one brother, David Lefevre of Bethlehem, N.H.; and two grandchildren survive Brenda. Her father, Henry, and two brothers, Michael and Gregory, predeceased her. At the request of the family all services will be private.

, 19, died suddenly Wednesday morning, Oct. 5, 2005, as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident in Seattle, Wash. Randi was born in Lakeworth, Fla., on Oct. 9, 1985, the daughter of Paul Wolfe and Heidi Driscoll. She has resided in Lancaster, N.H., and Seattle throughout her life. When in Lancaster she attended local schools, including White Mountain Regional High School during her freshman and sophomore years. Her time with friends was most valuable to her. Family members include her mother, of Lancaster, and her father, of Seattle; her grandparents, Edward and Carolyn Driscoll of Lancaster, June and Vince Probst of Lakeworth, Fla., and Dorothy Wolfe of Seattle; three uncles, Mark Driscoll, Ed Driscoll and Ted Driscoll; an aunt, Shannon Driscoll; and six cousins. There are no visiting hours. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Oct. 15, at 1 p.m. at All Saints Church, Lancaster. The Rev. Raymond Ball, pastor, will officiate. , 81, of St. Johnsbury, formerly of Burke Hollow, passed away Tuesday evening, Oct. 4, 2005, in St. Johnsbury following a long illness. She was born in West Charleston, Vt., the daughter of Oren and Della (Cushman) Bowen. On Oct. 22, 1943, she married Roscoe Holmes, who predeceased her on May 6, 2001. Thelma was a school teacher and taught in several schools in the area over the years. They include Brownington Elementary, East Charleston School, Jay School and Irasburg Elementary School. She also taught at the Head Start program. Her hobbies included playing the piano, gardening and reading. Thelma is survived by six children, Joyce Holmes of Burlington, Amaryllis Sheltra and her husband Reginald of Indian Town, Fla., Roscoe Holmes Jr. of Del Ray Beach, Fla., Reginald Holmes and his wife Laurel of Sutton, Vt., Dean Holmes and his wife Lisa Irwin of Seattle, Wash., and Bernard Holmes of Lyndonville; 11 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Curtis-Britch-Converse-Rushford Funeral Home, Oct. 8, with the Rev. Roger Fletcher officiating. Burial followed at the West Charleston Cemetery.

, 85, Concord, N.H., died Monday, Oct. 10, 2005, at Presidential Oaks. Born in Concord, Vt., she was the daughter of Harold and Ruth (Crowell) Lunnie. She was a post office clerk in Concord, Vt. and was active in the Concord Community Church and other community affairs while living in Vermont until 1961. She was also a member of the Eastern Star ADAH Chapter in Vermont. She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in New Hampshire. Frances was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include her son George Morehouse and his wife Jane of Concord, N.H.; her daughter Judith Hooyenga of Kentwood, Mich.; her sister, Priscilla Southworth of Concord, N.H.; five grandchildren, Eric Morehouse of Belmont, N.H., Peter Morehouse of Milford, N.H., Susan Morehouse of Somersworth, N.H., Brian Hooyenga of Alexandria, Va., and Debra Moody of Lowell, Mich.; and four great-grandchildren as well as a large extended family. She was predeceased by her husband, Delbert C. Morehouse, in 1997 and two brothers, Milton J. Lunnie and Paul W. Lunnie. Calling hours will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 13 at Bennett Funeral Home, 209 N. , 57, St. Johnsbury/Morrisville, Vt., passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the St. Johnsbury Health & Rehab Center from complications of Huntington's disease on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2005. He was born in Morrisville on June 20, 1948, the son of Fred and Alberta (Atherton) Boyce. Fred proudly served his country with 24 years in the military, four years in the Air Force and 20 years in the Navy, retiring as a chief petty officer. He served duty on board the USS John F. Kennedy, the USS LaSalle and was stationed at Naval Station Subic Bay, Puerto Rico and at the Norfolk Naval Base in Virginia. Upon retirement he received many awards for his accomplishments in aviation electronics. Fred is survived by two sisters, Wanda Reen of Walden and Jane Boyce of Hinesburg; his brother, Jim and his partner Jack of Essex Junction; his daughter, Christina; two very close friends, Diana Farr of New Hampshire and Bonnie Marshall of Waterbury Center; several aunts, uncles, nephews, great-nieces and a great-nephew. He was predeceased by his parents; his brother-in-law, Jerome Reen; and several aunts and uncles. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the White-Fiess Funeral Home, 165 Brooklyn St., Morrisville, with interment with full military honors following in the Pleasant View Cemetery in Morrisville. Visiting with the family will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday. , age 82, of Franconia Road, Bethlehem, N.H., passed away suddenly on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2005, at the Littleton Regional Hospital. Georgia was born on Jan. 13, 1923, a daughter to Chester W. and Eliza S. (Hutchinson) Martin, in Lemington, Vt. She graduated from Colebrook Academy in 1941 and attended Concord Business School, from which she graduated in 1942. Georgia was married to Warren Gadwah in 1943 and was employed by the Littleton Courier for several years. Her main priority in life was her family. She was very devoted to her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an integral part of many family gatherings and functions. Georgia enjoyed canning, embroidering and making hooked rugs. Georgia is survived by her husband of 62 years, Warren Gadwah of Bethlehem, N.H.; two daughters, Sandra and Francis "Red" McNamara of Littleton, N.H., and Sue and Conrad Farnham of Littleton, N.H.; two sons, Wayne and Brenda Gadwah of Pittsfield, N.H., and Wilman and Mary Gadwah of Bethlehem, N.H.; one sister, Nellie Wiswell of Kittery, Maine; 11 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. One son, Warren C. Gadwah, predeceased Georgia in 1970. The family will receive friends today, Oct. 13, at the Pillsbury Funeral Home, 101 Union St., Littleton, N.H., from 6:30 to 8 p.m. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 14, in the Maple Street Cemetery in Bethlehem, N.H., with the Rev. Alden Blake officiating.
