, formerly of Adams Drive and Park Street in St. Johnsbury, passed away peacefully at his home in Ocala, Fla., on Palm Sunday, March 20, 2005, at the age of 83. He was born in East Hardwick on Nov. 5, 1921, the son of Alphonse J. and Rose Anna (Beaudoin) Noel. He and Marie Rose Brochu were married Aug. 21, 1941. They had 63 wonderful years together and were blessed with a family of 13 children. Fernando was a compassionate man who loved everything he was blessed with in this life. He is survived by his wife, Marie Rose; 13 children, Philip Noel and his wife Lucille of Ocala, Fla., Sr. Annette Noel of Montreal, Quebec, Lorraine Lamontagne and her husband Paul of Colchester, Fernando Noel Jr. and his wife Grazyna of Auburn, Mass., Jean Paul Noel and his wife Sharon of Lyndonville, Maurice Noel and his wife Sharon of Lyndonville, Pauline Prim and her husband Donald of Essex Junction, Robert Noel and his wife Barbara of Cape May Courthouse, N.J., Leonard Noel and his wife Barbara of Loudonville, N.Y., Bernadette Mullally and her husband Michael of Colchester, Denis Noel and his wife Nancy of North Bennington, Diane McLaren and her husband Robert of Essex Junction, and Monica Lewis and her husband Thomas of North Reading, Mass.; one sister, Gabrielle Gaboriault of Grafton, Mass.; 34 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Denise, in 1960. Fernando worked as a farmer in East Hardwick from 1941-1948. He moved to Concord in 1948 and operated a farm until 1967. From 1967-1987 he operated a rubbish route in the area while working at Vermont Tap and Die until his retirement in 1987. During their retirement years, the Noels spent their winter months in Ocala, Fla., and the summer months in Barton, where he enjoyed playing golf at the Barton Country Club. Fernando was an honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus Sheridan Chapter 421, a fourth degree member of the Sheridan Assembly 1152 and a member of BPOE 1343. A funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Johnsbury Monday, March 28, at 2 p.m., at St. John the Evangelist Church. Public visiting hours will be held prior to the Mass at Sayles Funeral Home on Monday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. On Sunday at 3:15 p.m., the Knights are asked to gather with the family at the funeral home for a memorial service and Rosary. Francis P. Griffin

, 63, of Partridge Lake Road, Littleton, N.H., passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2005, at the Littleton Regional Hospital. Francis was born Oct. 29, 1941, a son to Francis and Evelyn (Hamel) Griffin in Medford, Mass. After graduating from high school in Medford, Francis served in the U.S. Navy during the beginning of the Vietnam War. After his discharge from the Navy, Francis attended Boston University. Francis married his wife of 39 years, Mariea (Pelham) Griffin in 1965. He served as a Massachusetts state officer in law enforcement until their move to Littleton, N.H., 18 years ago. Francis was a vocational rehabilitation specialist, and he and his wife operated a business of placing disabled persons into the work force. Francis coached the basketball team at the Littleton High School and loved gardening and going to the beach. Surviving family members include his wife, Mariea Griffin of Littleton, N.H.; one son, Matthew Griffin of Bethlehem, N.H.; two daughters, Erin Fadden of Littleton, N.H., and Kerry Mucher of Alton, N.H.; one brother, William Griffin of Medford, Mass.; two sisters, Patricia Polaski and Roberta Bailey, both of Medford, Mass.; and three grandchildren. A celebration of his life will be held at the family home on Partridge Lake Road on Friday, March 25, from 1-3 p.m.; family and friends are welcome.

, widow of Howard R. McKee, of St. Johnsbury and formerly of Littleton, N.H., passed away Monday, March 21, 2005, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center following complications resulting from lung cancer surgery 21 days ago. She was born in Morrisville on Sept. 7, 1936, one of 10 children born to Benjamin and Barbara (Horner) Leach. She graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy in 1954. After Howard suffered a life-altering stroke, Nancy cared for him for 14 years as best as anyone could. Nancy and Howie lived in Littleton, their last residence being at The Lane House. Prior to Howard's stroke, she had been school secretary at Profile High School. The McKees came back to St. Johnsbury, residing on the corner of Cliff and Harvey streets and later at the Colonial Apts. Howie passed away Aug. 19, 2004. Most recently she lived at the new Passumpsic View Apts. on Railroad Street and was very happy there. Nancy's life were her kids and grandkids. Four children survive her, Timothy McKee of St. Johnsbury (129 Central St. 05819), Linda Stafford and her husband D. Neil of St. Johnsbury (406 Summer St. 05819), Lisa McKee of Hatfield, Mass. (74 Chestnut St. 01038), and Todd McKee and his wife Shannon of Littleton, N.H. (103 Cindy's Dr. 03561); eight grandchildren, Jarrid and Jason McKee, DB, Adam, Elliot and Aaron Stafford, and Jack McKee Heath, and her only granddaughter, born this past June, Lauren McKee; and one great-granddaughter, Emma McQuaid Stafford. An infant son, Jeffrey, predeceased her. She is also survived by four brothers, Kenneth Leach and his wife Connie of South Carolina, Gary Leach and his wife Linda of Idaho, Terry Leach and his wife Norma of St. Johnsbury, and Jerry Leach of Wheelock; two sisters, Clara Stuart of Westminster, and Kim Hensel and her husband Bill of Florida; one sister-in-law, Phyllis Lawson and her husband Tom of Cape Cod, Mass.; and nieces and nephews. Two brothers and one sister predeceased her, Benjamin Jr., David and Carol. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 25, at 2 p.m., at the North Congregational Church with the pastor, the Rev. , 50, of 715 Springbrook Circle, Portsmouth, N.H., died Monday, March 21, 2005, at his residence. He was born March 24, 1954, in Whitefield, N.H., the son of Kenneth I. and Elaine (Colby) Russell Sr. He was the widower of Marie (L'hereux) Russell. Mr. Russell was a 1972 graduate of White Mountains Regional High School in Whitefield and graduated magna cum laude from the University of New Hampshire in 1976. He was well-known by family and friends as a very talented artist. He is survived by his parents of Whitefield; two stepdaughters, Prudence and Miranda Gould; three brothers, Kenneth L. Russell Jr. of Whitefield, Richard M. Russell of Lancaster, N.H., and Stephen F. Russell of Lunenburg, Vt.; three nieces, two nephews, aunts and uncles. He was predeceased by a brother, Mark Russell. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 26, at 11 a.m., in the Whitefield Community Baptist Church. The Rev. Clifford Vendt, pastor, will officiate. Immediately following, a gathering of family and friends will be held at the Whitefield American Legion.

, of St. Johnsbury, Vt., died early Tuesday, March 22, 2005, at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H. She was 88 years old, and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. The daughter of Julius and Augusta (Prehn) Riemer, she was born on April 12, 1916, in West Haven, Conn. A surgical nurse, she worked at the Bridgeport Hospital. She was married to Norman N. Smith, MD, in 1948 until his death in 1965. She is survived by her stepson of almost 57 years, Dr. Robert Jack Smith and his wife Doris of Kalamazoo, Mich., who loved her dearly. She was there for Robert when his mother died, and throughout the rest of her life. She will also be missed by three granddaughters and nine great-grandchildren in Michigan, Stephanie and John Hall of Novi, Rebecca Saltzman and Ken Gates of Scotts, and Elisa and Todd Weidner of East Leroy; and her best friend, Theodore "Ted" Macura of St. Johnsbury. Mrs. Smith had many dear friends who enjoyed her wit, intelligence and candor. She loved to spend summers at her camp on Miles Pond in Concord, Vt., and enjoyed gardening and reading very much. A graveside service will be officiated by her longtime friend, the Rev. Robert W. Endruschat, on Tuesday, April 12, 2005, at 10 a.m., at Oak Grove Cemetery in West Haven, Conn., where she will be buried near her parents. Friends and family are welcome to attend. , 72, of 200 Profile Road, Twin Mountain, N.H., died suddenly Sunday, March 20, 2005, at the Littleton Regional Hospital, following a sudden illness. She was born in Woonsocket, R.I., daughter of Arthur and Eva (Plante) Langevin. She grew up in the Woonsocket area, and relocated to Littleton, N.H., many years ago where she and her husband owned and operated the former Elmwood Motel on the Mt. Eustis Road Following the sale of the motel, they relocated to Twin Mountain in 1990. She worked for many years in the deli department of the former Butson's Supermarket in Littleton. She was predeceased by her husband, Francis, in 1993; and her son, Robert, in 2000. She is survived by two sons, Dennis Forest of Twin Mtn., N.H., and Jean Forest of Milford, Del; her mother, Eva Langevin of Lewes, Del.; two brothers, Roger Langevin and Raymond Langevin; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. , 79, of Franconia, N.H., passed away Friday, March 18, 2005, at the Lafayette Center in Franconia, N.H. Jack was born in New York City, N.Y., on Aug. 4, 1925, a son to George H. and Theodora (Tiffany) Tilton. Jack was the fifth generation of Tiltons to live in the Littleton area. He attended Yale University, School of Fine Arts and Annapolis Naval Academy. Jack was a commercial artist as well as having served in the New Hampshire State Legislature representing Littleton for 12 years. He served on the board of directors for both the Indian Head Bank and the Lafayette National Bank. Jack loved to golf and was an active member of the Profile Club for many years. After retiring, Jack made his home in Sugar Hill, N.H., surrounded by the mountains he loved to paint. Jack leaves three children, John H. Tilton of New York City, N.Y., Frederick S. Tilton of Littleton, N.H., and Mary Ann Tilton of Concord, N.H.; and four grandchildren, James and Robert Tilton, and John and Theodora O'Leary. Jack was predeceased by his wife, Marjory Seidler Tilton; and his brother, George Henry Tilton of Alexandria, Va. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, March 28, at 11 a.m., at the Sugar Hill Community Church with the Rev. Carl Schaller officiating. She was predeceased by her parents, David and Barbara Snellings Berry; and a brother, Arnold "Tex" Berry. , 53, of Greensboro Bend died unexpectedly Thursday, March 24, 2005, in Walden. He was born Aug. 31, 1951, in Hardwick, the son of Gordon F. and Winnifred (Anair) Willey. He attended Hardwick public schools and graduated from Hardwick Academy in the class of 1970. On Sept. 11, 1971, he married Deborah Mae Hill in Greensboro Bend. Throughout the years Larry worked for several businesses including Alfred Anair Construction in Hardwick. He drove a truck for Warren Hill Trucking in Greensboro. He installed dairy equipment for Steve Greaves in Greensboro Bend and he was a heavy equipment operator for Ken Davis in Hardwick. In 1998 Larry and his wife, Debbie, purchased the Walden General Store. He was a member of the Caspian Cruisers and the Walden ATV Club. He enjoyed the time he spent with his family, playing cards with grandchildren and attending their ballgames. Other enjoyments include: snowmobiling, NASCAR races, classic cars and the classic car shows, as well as visiting with customers at the Walden General Store. Survivors include his wife, Debbie, of Greensboro Bend; his mother, Winnifred Patoine and her husband, Norman, of Woodsville, N.H.; two sons: Anthony Willey and his wife Jacqueline of Island Pond and Phoenix Willey of Greensboro Bend; four daughters: Peggy Holbrook and her husband Shane of Walden, Sasha McCullough and her husband, Hezikiah of Stannard, Ma'Lesha Willey and Mayly Willey of Greensboro Bend; five grandchildren: Dylan and Dakota Holbrook of Walden, Jaden Willey of Island Pond, and Shakiah and Zariah McCullough of Stannard; six brothers: Gordon Willey Jr. of Cambridge, Alfred Willey of Hardwick, Arnold Willey of Morrisville, Dennis Willey of Woodbury, Raymond Willey of Johnson and Howard Patoine of Woodsville, N.H.; five sisters: Sandra Willey of Hardwick, Kathleen Rodgers of Ames, Iowa, Christina Willey of Barre, Kathy Patoine of Florida and Diane Patoine of Woodsville, N.H.; several aunt, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. , 83, longtime herdsman and dairy farmer at The City Dairy in St. Johnsbury, passed away Easter morning, Sunday, March 27, 2005, at the St. Johnsbury Health and Rehab Center. He was born in St. Johnsbury on Aug. 6, 1921, the son of Raymond and Ruth (Colby) Whitney. He was raised, however, by his father and stepmother, Vera (Montgomery) Whitney, and graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy in 1941. Farming was always his first love. He retired from City Dairy in 1989, working there for Ed Gray and Wendell Boardman for a total of 43 years. He also was a deputy under Sheriff Carroll Lafoe for a number of years, policing local dances and the racetrack in Waterford. In his later years, he greatly enjoyed his woodworking shop and the flea markets where he would sell his products. His wife of 32 years, Maidene (Morse) (Morton) Whitney, survives him (her mailing address is 302 Depot Hill Road, St. Johnsbury, VT 05819), as do eight children, George Whitney and his wife Ruby of Hardwick, Ruth Marceau and her husband Glen of Peacham, Bryce Whitney and his wife Marion of Hyde Park, Russell Whitney and his wife Helen of North Andover, Mass., Debbie Ruggles and her husband Roland of Lyndonville, Nikki Young and her husband Ronald of St. Johnsbury, Patty Hatch and her husband Michael of Groton, and Wendy Willson and her husband Dennis of North Concord; two stepchildren, Joan Croteau and her husband Paul of St. Johnsbury, and Diana Gray and her husband Gerald of Carlton, Pa.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Irma Lorraine Bean Sawyer

, 76, of Richardson Street, Lancaster, N.H., died Thursday March 24, 2005, at her home. Mrs. Sawyer was born in Livermore Falls, Maine, on Sept. 22, 1928, the daughter of Gerald Eugene and Helen Edith (Masterman) Bean. Irma graduated from Livermore Falls High School, Class of 1947. She then received her nurses training at the Central Maine General Hospital, Lewiston, Maine, graduating there in 1950. For 23 years she was a registered nurse at Weeks Memorial Hospital, Lancaster. She later worked as an assistant school nurse for schools in Lancaster, Whitefield, Dalton and Jefferson. She was an active member of the community. Memberships included the Christ United Methodist Church, Lancaster, the United Methodist Women, the Olive Branch Order of the Eastern Star, the Coos Quilters, Whitefield, the local knitting group, the Coos County Extension, and the Jefferson Chorus. She has also been a Girl Scout leader, a volunteer at Weeks Hospital, a volunteer for the CALEB Group, church junior choir leader, a senior choir member and has taught quilting classes. Irma's hobbies included skiing, snowmobiling, crafts, knitting, quilting and music. In 1969 she played the part of Sister Margareta in the Sound of Music with the Whitefield Summer Theatre. She loved spending time at the beloved family cottage "Kabeyun" on Lake Wentworth, Wolfeboro, N.H. Family members include her three children, Kathy Ann Sawyer of South Portland, Maine, Linda Sawyer O'Neil of Alton, N.H., and Kenneth Rhoades Sawyer of Philadelphia, Pa.; four grandchildren, Alyssa and Joshua O'Neil, and Kenneth and Matthew Sawyer; a sister, Carolyn Bean Merchant of Wilton, Maine; a brother, Byron Eugene Bean and his wife Nancy of Livermore, Maine; and nine nieces and nephews, Chris, Curt, Cynthia, Celine, Cheri, Rhonda, Kevin, Jeff and Lisa. Her husband of 52 years, Rhoades Ferguson "Dusty" Sawyer, predeceased her on Feb. 1, 2004. , 81, widow of the late Robert K. Walker, passed away Friday, March 25, 2005 in Merrimack, N.H. Lucille had been diagnosed with liver cancer in November of last year. Her husband, Robert, passed away March 27, 1998. They made their home in St. Johnsbury on Boynton Avenue and later on Church Street. Friends will remember fondly Lou's affectionate way of saying Robert's name. She was a gentle lady and her manner reflected her southern Mississippi roots. After Robert's death, she made her home for three years with daughter Sandra Legan at 427 Cliff St. in St. Johnsbury until moving to Hollis, N.H., in June 2004. She is survived by seven children, Robert Legan Jr. and wife Faith of Anacortes, Wash., Sandra Legan of Vacaville, Calif. , 75, of Del Webb Boulevard West, Sun City Center, Fla., and Joe's Pond, West Danville, Vt., died unexpectedly Tuesday, March 22, 2005, at the South Bay Hospital in Sun City Center. Born April 7, 1929, in Websterville, he was the son of Henry A. and Florence (Nolin) LaGue. He grew up on the family farm on Bolster Road in Lower Websterville and attended Barre Town Schools and Spaulding High School in Barre. On July 3, 1954, he married Esperanza "Dolly" Canizo in St. Monica Church in Barre. Following their marriage, they made their home in Montpelier and for many years on LaGue Drive in Barre Town. In earlier years, he worked for his father at LaGue's Farmall Equipment dealership in Barre as a mechanic and serviceman. For more than 35 years, his career was in sales and service of heavy construction equipment, mainly with State Equipment in Montpelier, beginning as a mechanic, later a salesman, and becoming general manager of the Montpelier branch. He later worked as general manager and in sales at Chadwick-Baross in East Montpelier and New England Equipment Company in Williston. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and following his retirement in 1989 to Sun City, Fla., he became an avid golfer. He also served as an ambulance driver for the Sun City Emergency Squad and developed an interest in computers. John and his wife Dolly spent their summers at their Joe's Pond home, enjoying the frequent visits of their children, grandchildren, family and friends. He will be fondly remembered for his ready smile, keen sense of humor and his frequent practical jokes. A veteran of the United States Army, he served from 1951 to 1953, being stationed in Germany and was awarded the Army Occupation Medal. A member of St. Monica's Church, where he attended Mass regularly, his other memberships included the Mutuo Inc., the Canadian Club, American Legion Post 10 and the Elks Lodge 1535, all of Barre, and he was past president and a director of the Joe's Pond Association. Being a York Rite Mason, he belonged to Granite Mason Lodge 35, Barre Council 22 R & SM, Granite Chapter 26 RAM and St. Aldemar Commandery 11 K.T., all of Barre, as well as Mt. Sinai Shrine Temple 3 of Montpelier and Mount Sinai Motor Corps. Besides his wife, survivors include his son, John L. "Jack" LaGue Jr. and his wife Susan Rousse-LaGue of Barre Town; four daughters, Debra Bisson and her husband Peter, Karen LaGue and Donna Van Der Hagen and her husband Marty, all of Austin, Texas, and Linda Atkinson and her husband Paul of Plainfield, Ill.; 11 grandchildren, Jennifer and Sean LaGue, Katherine, Rachel and Christopher Bisson, Matthew, Courtney and Kelly Atkinson, and Jessica, John and Sarah Van Der Hagen; a brother, Henry A. LaGue Jr. and his wife Suzanne of Berlin; a sister, Madeline Camire McDermott and her husband Monty of Barre Town; and nieces and nephews. Extended family members include his mother-in-law, Baselisa Canizo of Barre; brother-in-law, Richard and Anne Rasines of San Diego, Calif.; and sisters-in-law, Rachel "Chichi" and Robert Bancroft of Sun City Center, Fla., and Elisa and Allan Storti of Barre Town. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Jane Austin. A memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, July 23, 2005, at 11 a.m., in St. Monica Church in Barre. , 93, of Elm Street, Whitefield, N.H., passed away at the Country Village Health Care Center, Lancaster, N.H., on Tuesday, March 29, 2005. He was born in Lancaster, son of Reuben and Pearl (Coram) Bond. He was a lifelong resident of the area. He was employed 16 years as district manager for the Babson Brothers Dairy Equipment Company, Syracuse, N.Y., and also served as manager of the former Northern Hardware Store, and later the Fletcher Paint & Hardware Store, both of Littleton. He served as a Whitefield selectman for several years. Through his efforts, the town received all-new railroad crossings with flashing signal lights. He was also instrumental in bringing cable television to the community. During the 1930s, he had a 14-piece dance band, The Royal Serenaders, and they played at most North Country dances. He will be fondly remembered for his quick wit and humor that enlivened any place he went. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of the North Star Lodge, Lancaster, the Lodge of Perfection, Lancaster, Prince of Jerusalem & Rose Croix, Littleton, Bektash Temple, Concord, past president of the Berlin Kiwanis Club, and a Life Member of the Littleton Lodge of Elks 1831. He was predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Lucy, in 1992, and his daughter-in-law Rita Bond. He is survived by a daughter, Carolyn L. Bond of Boscawen, N.H., two sons, George T. Bond of Antrim, N.H., James A. Bond and wife Teresa of Stratham, N.H.; two grandchildren, Lori McCullough and Christopher Bond, and one great-grandchild, Samuel McCullough. A memorial gathering of family and friends, followed by a service will be held at the Ross Funeral Home, Whitefield Chapel, Saturday, April 2, from 1-2 p.m. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family in the Summer Street Cemetery, Lancaster. , 81, of Olive Street, Brattleboro, a lifelong resident of Brattleboro, passed away peacefully Monday afternoon, March 28, 2005, at Grace Cottage Hospital in Townshend, surrounded by his family. Born Sept. 14, 1923, in Brattleboro, he was the only son of the late Willard S. and Goldie M. (Johnson) Richardson of West Brattleboro. He was raised and educated in Brattleboro graduating from Brattleboro High School, Class of 1941. He attended the University of New Hampshire and Hamilton College in Clinton, N.Y. He graduated from Trinity College in Hartford, Conn., in 1947 with a bachelor's degree in biology. He became a registered medical technologist and was a member of the American Society of Medical Technologist and the American Society of Clinical Pathologists. A veteran of World War II, he served his country in the U.S. Army, entering active service in June 1943, serving as a medical technician, deployed to Europe just as the war was ending. He was honorably discharged from active service in March 1946. Mr. Richardson started his career as a medical technologist with the U.S. Public Health Service in 1948. He worked at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital for 19 years as chief medical technologist. He later was employed at the Brattleboro Retreat from 1969 to 1979, where he was instrumental in expanding the laboratory. He finished his career at Grace Cottage Hospital, where he ran the laboratory until he retired in 1993. He was active in many organizations including the Brattleboro Historical Society and the Brattleboro Masonic Lodge 102 F & AM. He was a lifelong member of the First Congregational Church in West Brattleboro where he served as a deacon and a member of the choir for over 50 years. Mr. Richardson will be remembered as an accomplished tenor in the barbershop quartet, "The Balladiers," and in the Brattleboro Male Chorus. He was a longtime member of the Brattleboro Camera Club, where he served as a past president and treasurer. Photography was his favorite hobby which took him all over the back roads of New England, looking for the perfect shot. During his retirement he developed a talent for interior stenciling, which found its way into friends' homes, his church and his beloved Grace Cottage Hospital. However, his greatest joy came from spending time with his family and many friends. For many years, he served as sexton of West Brattleboro Cemetery on Mather Road. On Oct. 9, 1948, in Wilmington, he was married to Priscilla Branch Smith. The Richardsons celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends in 1998 in West Brattleboro. His wife predeceased him in 1999. He is survived by three sons, Bruce and his wife Bonnie of Lyndonville, Douglas and his companion Janice of Vergennes, and Craig and his wife Liz of Elmore; three grandsons: Jared of Missoula, Mont., Corey of South Burlington, and Trent of Vergennes; cousin Sylvia Renfrew of West Brattleboro; sister-in-law Priscilla K. Smith of Dummerston, nephew Ian Smith of Hinsdale., N.H., niece Elaine Denyou of Dummerston and two grand-nieces; and his companion, Carol Baraby of Springfield, whom he loved dearly and with whom he spent his last years. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be conducted Saturday, April 2, at 2 p.m. at First Congregational Church in West Brattleboro with the Rev. Dennis Roth, pastor, officiating. Interment in the Richardson family lot in West Brattleboro Cemetery will be held later in the spring. There are no calling hours at the funeral home. Vance A. Cummings

, 87, of North Haverhill, N.H., passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2005, at Cottage Hospital in Woodsville, N.H. Vance was born a son to George W. and Ada (Davis) Cummings, on Oct. 24, 1917, in Winchendon, Mass. Vance served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a past member of the Masons and was employed by Whitcher's Sawmill until his retirement. Surviving family members include six stepchildren, Pauline Conkey of Plymouth, N.H., Loretta Paige-Berry of St. Johnsbury, Vt., Mike Landon and wife Janet of Lancaster, N.H., Shannon Landon and significant other Carl Marsh of Lisbon, N.H., Geri Lapre and husband Phil of Holderness, N.H., and Valerie Landon of Littleton, N.H.; 13 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. His wife, Gloria P. Cummings, predeceased him in 1986. A graveside service will be held in the Groton Cemetery in Groton, N.H., at a later date.
