P.J. was born in Lancaster on October 23, 1984, the son of Philip I. Riff Sr. and Cynthia L. (Hand) Riff.
He has resided his entire life in Lancaster and Guildhall and attended White Mountain Regional High School. Being a lover of the outdoors, PJ enjoyed fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, four-wheeling, and snowboarding.
Family members include his parents of Lancaster; two sisters, Melissa McLaughlin of Lancaster, Jessica Riff of Whitefield; a half-brother Michael Riff of Ft. Wayne, Missouri, a half-sister Loni Shatler of St. Joe, Indiana; maternal grandparents, James and Sandra Hand of Stratford; two nephews, Bailey McLaughlin and Preston Santana-Riff; and other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visiting hours will be held Tuesday evening March 1, from 7:00 to 9:00 at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A funeral service will be held Wednesday morning at 10:00 at the Christ United Methodist Church, Lancaster. Rev. Dr. Thomas W. Bentum, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Summer Street Cemetery, Lancaster.
Verlie E. Masters
....show , 79, of Middle Street, died Wednesday evening March 30, 2005, at Weeks Medical Center, Lancaster.
Mrs. Masters was born in Randboro, Quebec, on March 31, 1925, the daughter of Earle Gordon and Florence Evelyn (Greenwood) Kingsley.
Verlie was raised in Canada and came to Lancaster in 1952. For many years she worked as a caretaker for the elderly. She enjoyed reading, crosswords and her cats but her greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Lancaster.
Family members include three daughters Sharon L. Daigle and her husband Roger of Jefferson, Lana L. Snowden and her husband Allen of Cairo, Georgia, Laura L. Dean and her husband Wlm. David of Bow, NH; a brother Charles Kingsley of Lennoxville, Quebec; two sisters Aurelia Bickford of N. Haverhill, NH, Marilyn Pace of Albuquerque, New Mexico; seven grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Grant William Masters in 1968 and a sister Hilda Hartman in 2000.
Visiting hours will be held Friday evening April 1, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A funeral service will be held Saturday morning at 11:00 AM at St. Paul's Church, Lancaster. Rev. David Rose, pastor, will officiate. Irma Lorraine Bean Sawyer
....show , 76, of Richardson Street, died Thursday March 24, 2005, at her home.
Mrs. Sawyer was born in Livermore Falls, Maine, on September 22, 1928, the daughter of Gerald Eugene and Helen Edith (Masterman) Bean.
Irma graduated from Livermore Falls High School, Class of 1947. She then received her nurses training at the Central Maine General Hospital, Lewiston, Maine, graduating there in 1950. For 23 years she was a Registered Nurse at Weeks Memorial Hospital, Lancaster. She later worked as an assistant school nurse for schools in Lancaster, Whitefield, Dalton, and Jefferson.
She was an active member of the community. Memberships include the Christ United Methodist Church, Lancaster, the United Methodist Women, the Olive Branch Order of the Eastern Star, the Coos Quilters, Whitefield, the local knitting group, the Coos County Extension, and the Jefferson Chorus. She has also been a Girl Scout leader, a volunteer at Weeks Hospital, a volunteer for the CALEB Group, church junior choir leader, a senior choir member, and has taught quilting classes.
Irma's hobbies included skiing, snowmobiling, crafts, knitting, quilting and music. In 1969 she played the part of Sister Margareta in the Sound of Music with the Whitefield Summer Theatre. She loved spending time at the beloved family cottage "Kabeyun" on Lake Wentworth, Wolfeboro, NH.
Family members include her three children, Kathy Ann Sawyer of South Portland, Maine, Linda Sawyer O'Neil of Alton, NH, Kenneth Rhoades Sawyer of Philadelphia, PA; four grandchildren Alyssa & Joshua O'Neil, Kenneth & Matthew Sawyer; a sister Carolyn Bean Merchant of Wilton, Maine; a brother Byron Eugene Bean and his wife Nancy of Livermore, Maine; nine nieces and nephews, Chris, Curt, Cynthia, Celine, Cheri, Rhonda, Kevin, Jeff, and Lisa. Her husband of 52 years, Rhoades Ferguson "Dusty" Sawyer, predeceased her on February 1, 2004.

He was born March 24, 1954, in Whitefield, NH, the son of Kenneth L. and Elaine (Colby) Russell, Sr. He was the widower of Marie (L'hereux) Russell.
Mr. Russell was a 1972 graduate of White Mountain Regional High School in Whitefield and graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of New Hampshire in 1976. He was well known by family and friends as a very talented artist.
He is survived by his parents of Whitefield, two stepdaughters, Prudence and Miranda Gould; three brothers, Kenneth L. Russell, Jr. of Whitefield, Richard M. Russell of Lancaster, and Stephen E. Russell of Lunenburg, VT; three nieces, two nephews, aunts and uncles. He was predeceased by a brother Mark Russell.
SERVICES - A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 26, 2005 at 11 AM in the Whitefield Community Baptist Church. The Rev. Clifford Vendt, pastor, will officiate. Immediately following a gathering of family and friends will be held at the Whitefield American Legion.

Virginia R. Hanson
....show , 83, of McIntyre Apartments, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2005 at the Morrison Nursing Home, Whitefield, after a long courageous battle with multiple sclerosis.
Mrs. Hanson was born on April 24, 1921 in Concord, NH to Myron and Lucy Robbins. She graduated from Concord High School in 1938, and worked for the Motor Vehicle Department in Concord for many years. Upon moving to Manchester in 1947 she went to work for various insurance companies in the area until her retirement in 1976.
She was very active in the insurance field and held many offices with the NH Insurance Women's League as well as many National Agencies.
She was an avid bowler and belonged to several leagues. She and her husband loved to travel and have visited every State except Alaska. Upon Henry's retirement in 1982 thy moved to Margate Florida. They lived there until 1997 and due to declining health move back to the area to be with family. She and Henry were married on March 27, 1939.
Virginia is survived by her husband of 65 years, Henry A. Hanson, whom has been her loving care giver up until recently; a daughter, Nancy H. Desrochers and her husband Bert of Maidstone Lake, Vermont; niece, Robbin Grill and her husband Alan of Boscowen, NH; three grandchildren, Michael Desrochers and his wife Colleen of Newfields, NH, Mark Desrochers and his wife Sarah of Lancaster, Lori Desrochers-Shearer and her husband Doug of Lancaster; five great grandchildren, Brianna, Lindsey, Steven, Travis and Matthew. Her parents, and a sister Maude Roberts along with husband Tom, predeceased her.
Visiting hours will be held Monday afternoon and evening, March 21, from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. Memorial prayers will take place during the evening hours at the funeral home. There will be no graveside services.

Mr. Wheeler was born in Lancaster, NH, on October 20, 1953, the son of Anne (Eastman) Wheeler Mardin and the late William Wheeler.
He was educated in New Hampshire School and graduated from White Mountain Regional High School in 1971. He was married to Deborah Prouty in 1987 in New Hampshire moving to Sunderland in 1997. He worked as a maintenance man at Squire Village Apartments in Sunderland.
Gary was an avid sportsman and member of the South Deerfield Sportsman Club, the North America Hunting Club and the NRA.
Besides his wife Debbie Wheeler of Sunderland he leaves his mother Anne Wheeler Mardin of Jefferson and stepfather Raymond Mardin; two sons Jeremy wheeler of Nashua, Joshua Wheeler of Jefferson; three daughters Rebecca Rivera of Springfield, MA, Amy Earl of Berlin, NH, Jennifer Miner of Erving, MA; two brothers William Wheeler II of Georgia, Ted Wheeler of Lancaster; two sisters, Fonda J. ....show , 49, died Wednesday evening March 16, 2005, at the Littleton Regional Hospital after a recent illness.
Mr. Guay was born in Berlin, NH, on November 5, 1955, the son of Lionel E. and Elaine (Macy) Guay.
Jerry was raised in the Berlin/Gorham area and later moved to Lancaster where he graduated from White Mountain Regional High School in 1973. In 1975 he started his 20-year career with the US Army during which time he served in Desert Storm. After retiring from the military he returned to the North Country and for five years worked as the chef at the Continental 93, Littleton.
He enjoyed snowmobiling, golf, bowling, chess, and all types of fresh and salt-water fishing. Memberships include the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Family members include his wife Monika (Wallesch) Guay of Groveton; his 9 year old son Patrick N. Guay of Groveton; a daughter Belinda King of Derry; his father Lionel E. Guay of Lancaster; a brother, Danny Guay and his wife Lisa of Groveton; Judy Matthews and husband George of Lancaster, Linda Boucher and fiancée John Riley of Derry, Jennifer Lapointe and husband Daniel of Gorham; a granddaughter Rhea and several nieces and nephews. His mother Elaine Guay predeceased him last week on March 6.

Edson A. Dean Jr.
....show , 84, of Presidential Highway, died peacefully at his home Sunday afternoon, March 13, 2005.
Mr. Dean was born in Providence, RI, on July 3, 1920, the son of Edson A. Dean and Kathryn (Capwell) Dean.
For many years he resided in Warwick, RI, where he was self-employed as a painter and specialty paperhanger. During WWII he served in the European Theater with the US Army's 12th Armored Division, 714th Tank Battalion.
In 1968 he moved his family to Jefferson and worked as a carpenter for Clyde Holmes of Jefferson and served many years as a volunteer fireman for the Jefferson Fire Department.
Edson enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking, and gardening. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Whitefield, NH.
Family members include his wife Marguerite M. (Chisholm) Dean of Jefferson; four children, Richard C. Dean of Jefferson, Marilyn M. Davis of Warwick, RI, Marguerite M. Costa of Jefferson, Edson A. Dean III of North Kingston, RI; a brother Franklin R. Dean of Green Valley, AZ; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother William C. Dean.

Baxter Hart Wrightson

with prostate cancer at his home Sunday morning March 13th, 2005. Mr. Wrightson was born in Los Angeles, California, on October 24th, 1937,
the son of J. Daniel Hart and Margery Gott Wrightson. Baxter was raised in Darien, CT. He graduated from The Hotchkiss School in
Lakeville, CT and went on to attend Princeton University. Following college, he served in the US Army where he earned his pilot's license and achieved the rank of 2nd Lieutenant.
Mr. Wrightson was the vice president and co-owner of Brown Street furniture, a furniture manufacturing firm in Whitefield NH. He was an avid
sailor and a member of the Newport Yacht Club in Newport, Rhode Island. He also traveled extensively with his wife and children. Baxter, a true bon
vivant, will be fondly remembered by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife Jan New Wrightson; his former wife Diana
Wrightson and their children Cassandra Wrightson and Beau Wrightson, both of San Francisco, CA; 2 brothers, Dave Hart of Phoenix, AZ, and Joe Hart, of San Diego, CA. A sister Sharon Wrightson predeceased him.
Elaine Guay

Mrs. Guay was born in Bellmore, Long Island, New York, on July 13, 1931, the daughter of Edward and Edith (Bequet) Macy.
Elaine was raised in Long Island and when she was 25 she married Lionel E. Guay and resided the rest of her life in Lancaster and Gorham. For 20 years she was employed a Weeks Memorial Hospital in the dietary department.
She was devoted to her family and was a genuine lover of animals. She enjoyed all creatures great and small, particularly cats of which she always had several.
Family members include her husband Lionel of Lancaster; five children, Jerry Guay and wife Monika of Groveton, Danny Guay and wife Lisa of Groveton, Judy Matthews and husband George of Lancaster, Linda Boucher and fiancée John Riley of Derry, Jennifer Lapointe and husband Daniel of Gorham; a brother Edward Macy of Florida; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Mrs. Crawford was born in Guildhall, VT, on April 28, 1925, the daughter of Herbert Clayton Gray Sr. and Enid (Cotton) Gray.
A lifelong resident of Lancaster she graduated from Lancaster Academy in 1943. Elsie was devoted to her family and community. She was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women, Lancaster. She volunteered much of her time assisting with church functions and was known for the many wreaths she made at Christmas. She was also a 10 year volunteer at Weeks Memorial Hospital.
Family members include three daughters, Sharon A. Davis of Groveton, Sheila J. Bailey of Richmond, VT, Suzan McGettrick Light of Meredith; her companion Milton Page of Lancaster; four step-children, Barry A. Crawford of Lancaster, Sheila Hicks of Jefferson, Jay Crawford of Pittsburg, PA, Claire Senecal of Lancaster; 19 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband Edward McGettrick and second husband Everett Crawford.

Mrs. Clarke was born in Campton, NH, on August 27, 1917, the daughter of Irving J. and Pearl I. (Moses) Silsby.
Elinor was a long time resident of Lunenburg and Dalton. She attended schools in Lunenburg, VT and later Lancaster where she graduated from Lancaster Academy. For 33 years she worked for Gilman Paper Company (Georgia Pacific) in Gilman, VT. She also was the Dalton town treasurer for 14 years.
She was a member of the Lunenburg Congregational Church and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary #816, Littleton.
Family members include two granddaughters, Doreen Hartshorn of Littleton, Donna Goodhue of St. Johnsbury; 6 great-grandchildren; and close friend Carol Sheltry of Whitefield. She was predeceased by her husband Harold W. Clarke in 1975 and her daughter Harriet Forbush in 1997, whom she missed desperately.

Mr. McAllister was born in Lancaster, NH, on March 30, 1930, the son of the late Albert McAllister Sr. and Beatrice Styles. He was a 1948 graduate of Groveton High School and for a time worked at the Groveton Paper Company until he enlisted in the US Air Force during the Korean War. He later moved to Naugatuck, CT, and worked for Pratt and Whitney Aircraft in East Hartford, CT, for 36 years. After retirement he returned to Guildhall to live at the family home. He was a Communicant of St. Francis Xavier Church, Groveton and a member of the American Legion Post #17, Groveton. Family members include his wife of 53 years Theresa (Tremblay) McAllister of Guildhall; three sons, Wayne McAllister and his wife Dana of Naugatuck, CT, David McAllister and his wife Susan of N. Mrs. Towle was born one of eight children in Gorham, NH on December 5, 1917 the daughter of John E. and Bertha May (Campbell) Noyes.
For a time she lived in Plymouth, NH, but was primarily a Jefferson resident for approximately 50 years. During that time she worked as a LPN at the Jefferson Nursing Home for 12 years. She also resided in Gorham for several years. Hazel loved family and friends who she always put first in her life.
She was a member of the Dummer Community Church, Dummer, NH.
Family members include her son and daughter-in-law Samuel J. and Laura Towle of Gorham; four granddaughters, Veronica Dupont, Valerie Fauteux, Vanessa Kenison, Vespar Duffy; two step-grandsons, Bradford Anderson, Charles Anderson; 6 great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandson. She was predeceased by her husband Alfred E. Towle in 1993; a son Albert E. Towle in 1970; an infant son and her brothers and sisters.

Willard F. Bean

Col. Bean was born in Groveton, NH on February 3, 1907, the son of Fred and Julia (Eastman) Bean. He was a lifelong resident of Coos County.
He was a graduate of Gould Academy, Bethel, Maine and the University of New Hampshire in 1929 with a B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering. He served in
the Pacific Theater with the US Army during the Second World War. He was employed by the State of New Hampshire Highway Department for thirty six
years, starting on a field survey crew and retiring as Division Engineer for Division One in 1968. Col. Bean was a 33rd degree Mason. He was a member of the North Star Lodge
of Perfection of Lancaster and was the oldest living Past Master. He belonged to Rose Croix of Littleton and the Consistory of the Valley of
Nashua. He was also a member of Olive Branch Chapter OES of Lancaster and was instrumental in the establishment of a DeMolay Chapter in Lancaster.
He was active in the community, serving as chairman of the Lancaster School Board and was Deacon of the Lancaster Congregational United Church of Christ
for many years. He was a long time member of the Lancaster Ambulance Corps and he was an active member of the Jefferson Adult Citizens Club. He also
was a member of the former Mahaney-Brisson American Legion Post of Lancaster. Family members include his daughter and son-in-law Mariana and Bertrand
Ruggles of Chesapeake Beach, MD, his son and daughter-in-law John F. and Ellie Bean of Northumberland; two step daughters, Mrs. Richard (Priscilla
Wilson) MacDonald of Nashua and Eloise (Holt) Leimer of Chanhassen, MN; five grandchildren, Bertrand F. Ruggles, Jr., Katharine (Ruggles) Mechem, Steven
Bean, Stephanie (Bean) Baker and Stacey Bean; a very special step granddaughter and husband, Theresa (Leimer) and Paul Tieszen, three other
step grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife Ora (Ordway) in 1976, his second wife Mary (Wilson) in 1993 and his third wife Alice (Holt) in 2004.

Rev. Tobyne was born in West Thornton, NH on March 22, 1920, the son of Raymond and Nettie (Downing) Tobyne. When Ralph was eight years old his family moved to Lunenburg, VT. In 1938 he graduated from Lancaster Academy where he played on the hockey team.
On December 7, 1942 he enlisted in the US Army and served during World War II in the Philippines and the South Pacific Theatre. He was honorably discharged in January 1946. That same year he married Pauline Blodgett of Stratford Hollow. They lived in Lunenburg for six years and later relocated to Massachusetts where the family lived for twenty years. While there he was foreman at Wm. E. Wright and Sons, West Warren, MA.
Returning to Vermont he attended the Bible Institute of New England for three years.
He then became the Pastor of the Brownington Center Church for twenty years where he founded and enjoyed an active youth group. He took the group on many trips throughout the south on work projects for Youth Group Work Camp Ministries. He also enjoyed his role as a school bus driver. Other ministry work included the Maple Lane Nursing Home, Barton, VT, and Canterbury Retirement Home in St. Johnsbury.
His special interest included skating, skiing, painting and "puttering" on projects outdoors.
Surviving family members include his son and daughter-in-law Jerry and Shelia Tobyne of Lancaster; two sisters, Rachel Hurkett of Plainville, MA, Linda Timson of Lunenburg; a brother Raymond Tobyne of Lunenburg; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Ralph was predeceased by his wife Pauline on March 29, 2004. He was also predeceased by his parents, a sister Rebecca and his stepmother Bertha Tobyne.
Visiting hours will be held Tuesday evening April 12, from 6-9 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A funeral service will be held Wednesday afternoon at 1:00 PM at the Jefferson Christian Church. Rev. Dean A. Stiles, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in the Erastus Blodgett lot in Center Cemetery, Stratford.

Kenneth A. Powers
....show , 56, of Lake Road, died at his home Saturday morning April 9, 2005, after a long illness.
Mr. Powers was born in Lancaster, NH, on September 21, 1948, the son of Percy R. and Nila L. (Pond) Powers.
Kenneth was raised in Lancaster and a graduate of Lancaster Academy. For many years he has lived and worked in Lunenburg and was active in the community. For a time he worked in the auto body business and he also enjoyed making and selling lawn crafts. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting.
For the town of Lunenburg he served 14 years as a lister and 10 years as a selectman's assistant. He was also a volunteer and secretary for the Lunenburg Fire District #1 and member of the Lunenburg Cemetery Association. For 8 1/2 years he was program manager for NEKCA (Northeast Kingdom Community Action). At the time of his death he and his wife Susan were in the progress of writing a 200 year historical book of Lunenburg.
Family members include his wife Susan E. (McLaughlin) Powers of Lunenburg and his mother Nila L. (Pond) Powers of Lunenburg, VT.
At Kenny's request there are no visiting hours. A memorial service will be held Saturday afternoon, April 16, at 1:00 PM at the Mt. View Baptist Church in Lancaster. Rev. Donald Williams, pastor, will officiate. A memorial mass will be celebrated the same day at 4:00 PM at St. Theresa's Church, Gilman.

Mrs. Mary Thibault White
....show , 91, of South Burlington, VT passed away April 5, 2005, at Fletcher Allen Hospital after a short illness.
Mary was born December 1, 1913 in Berlin N.H. the daughter of Alex and
Yvonne (St. Hilaire) Thibault.
She was a resident of Lancaster for over 50 years after her marriage to Bradley O. White of Lancaster. She moved to Vermont in 1990 to be near her children. Mary was known by her friends for her skill in many crafts and she continued to do counted cross stitch up to her illness.
She was a Communicant of All Saints Parish and member of the Daughters of Isabella.
Having worked in many businesses in town, she was also a member of the Business and Professional Women.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Henry and Sandra White of
Hinesburg VT, her daughter Patricia White of Colchester VT, a brother
Roland Thibault of Berlin NH, a sister Gabrielle Twitchell of Hill, NH., her grandson Lt. Col. Mark White of Colorado Springs, CO., a granddaughter Cynthia Blumen of Hinesburg, VT., four great-grandchildren, Kristin Blumen, Samantha White, Nicholas Blumen, Ryan White; and five nieces and nephews.
A visiting hour will be held Friday morning, April 8, from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM at All Saints Church, Lancaster. Rev. Raymond Ball, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be held at a later date in the Calvary Cemetery, Lancaster.

Richard Herbert Brink
....show , 80, of West Main Street, passed away at his home in Lunenburg where he had lived the last two decades of his life.
Mr. Brink was born in Rutland, Vermont, on August 26, 1924 the son of Arthur and Ona Mabel (Noyes) Brink.
Richard grew up and attended schools in Rutland. He worked as a cook in local hotels and restaurants prior to a long employment with and retirement from Fairbanks Scales in St. Johnsbury. He was predeceased in 1991 by his beloved wife, Doris Harris Lund, whom he married on June 4, 1950. They lived in Miles Pond for many years before moving to Lunenburg.
A member of the Concord Community Church in Concord, VT, Richard was a devout Christian who truly knew the meaning of judge not, forgive one another and honor thy neighbor. Exodus, Chapter 20: Now he is at peace with his Lord.
Surviving him are his daughter Rachel and husband Hollis Anderson of Tatum, Texas; a special granddaughter, Joyce and husband Bud Marcotte of Lyndonville, VT; a sister Ramona and husband Gil Gilbert of Oregon; his wife's children, Wayne and wife Betty Lund of Concord, VT, Ruby Priest of St. Johnsbury, VT; many nieces and nephews and his wonderful friends and neighbors. Richard shared his joy and love for his 12 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren with everyone who would listen. A trip to visit his daughter's family in Texas last October was his celebrated opportunity to meet his namesake, great-great-grandson, Richard Daylon Hyde
He was also predeceased by his parents; two brothers, Joseph and Fred; a sister Ruth Dikeman; and a great-grandson T.J. Pepper.
There are no visiting hours. A graveside service will be held at the Concord Cemetery at a later date.

Mark Galbraith Alexander
....show , 57, passed away on April 1, 2005 at the Maine Medical Center in Portland Maine after a long struggle with cancer.
Mark was born in Whitefield, New Hampshire on May 18, 1947, a son of Robert H. and Ann G. (Galbraith) Alexander. Mark attended Whitefield schools and later graduated from Lawrence Academy in Groton Mass.
After college at the University of Vermont, Mark pursued a career in the hospitality and food industries, most recently as a buyer/merchandiser for Associated Grocers of Maine.
Ever since his boyhood in the White Mountains, hiking and skiing have served as Mark's great recreational pastimes. He worked at Loon Mountain as a professional ski patrol. Almost without fail, he managed to climb Mt. Washington every year.
Mark cultivated a dry, understated sense of humor that endeared him to even casual acquaintances. He was proud of his heritage as a New England Yankee, and his Scottish roots. He made huge circles of friends at homes in Massachusetts and Maine.
For 18 years, he was an active member and a staunch supporter of AA. He made some of his best friends within that organization.
He'll be missed by his wife, Elaine (Millman) Alexander, of North Yarmouth, Maine and his mother, Ann G. Alexander of Wellesley Hills, MA. Mark is also survived by his daughter, Megan Landry and her husband Scott Cook of Oakland Maine and her sons Bryant and Carter; and by his son Robert Alexander and grandson Gavin Charles Alexander of Waterville, Maine. He is also survived by his brother, Duncan K. Alexander and wife Phyllis, of Plainfield NJ, and his sister, Susan Wolf, of Wellesley Hills, MA.
A Celebration of his life will be held April 13, 2005 at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 148 Main Street, Yarmouth, Maine, at 11:00AM.
Private burial will take place at a later date in Whitefield, New Hampshire.

James B. Fenmore
....show , 72, of Ridgeview Terrace, went home to be with the Lord from Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon, NH on April 1, 2005, after a battle with cancer and heart disease.
Mr. Fenmore was born in Lakeport, New Hampshire, the son of James R. and Hazel (Smith) Fenmore on November 18, 1932.
He served in the United States Marine Corp and was a past member and commander of the American Legion.
During his lifetime he owned and operated several small businesses to include Handy Landing General Store at Weirs Beach, The Gift Shed in Twin Mountain, Whitefield Care Center and Country Vittles in Whitefield. In semi-retirement he was a driver for Tri-County CAP. During retirement he dearly loved to Kayak and work in his vegetable and flower gardens.
He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Whitefield, NH.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Lou (Prince) Fenmore of Dalton; a sister Justine Hamilton of Bristol, Connecticut; three nephews, Gregory and Tony Hamilton both of Connecticut, Toby L. Locke of Andover, NH, and a niece Sarah Locke of Andover, NH.
There will be no calling hours. Burial and a graveside service will be held later in the spring at Park Street Cemetery in Whitefield.
